Ive been here several times with my wife and friends and we have never been let down. Always try for the patio window seats to get a great view. Everything we ordered was superb in flavor and the service was top tier.
OK, so the food is 4.8 stars. Whoever the chef is over here, truly knows what he’s doing. The sauces that accompanied the scallops and duck breast were so balanced and flavorful that when I took the first bite of each of those dishes, I blurted out “oh my god” and trust me that’s not typical of me lol. Really top notch ingredients and careful preparation.I am dinging them a star for the bar service and drink quality. I tried to converse with Bartender to get him to adjust my drink where it would’ve been favorable rather than have him remake it, but he just wasn’t cooperative. And they have a cool drink with a lychee bubble that pops. Very theatrical but unfortunately the drink tasted like cough syrup. I realized after the meal that good that the bar service was flawed and the restaurant of this caliber should deliver on all points.
We were seated at the bar which ended up being a great choice because the bartenders were fun to interact with throughout our meal. They were very knowledgeable about the menu and oyster selection. I wish I could tell you about the sashimi dish pictured, but my wife enjoyed it too much to share. I had the tuna poke tower and it was absolutely delicious. The main feature of this restaurant is their fresh oysters, and you wont find anywhere better in Pismo for those.
Being a resident of Pismo Beach, I frequent Oyster Loft regularly and consistently endorse it to the guests staying at the hotel I manage. This most recent visit, coinciding with my birthday, was an opportunity to extend my glowing recommendation to my mother and friends. I eagerly anticipated that they, too, would come to appreciate the exceptional dining experience I have cherished in this establishment.Our reservation was made for 5 pm, and we were promptly seated by a courteous host. I couldn’t recall the name of our server, but he provided excellent service.We kicked off our evening with cocktails because, well, we’re adults and it’s fun! The special cocktail with bubbles was a hit.Moving on to the main courses, my mother, known for her pickiness, eventually settled on the filet mignon after some contemplation. I chose the scallops, as did my friend, while my boyfriend went for the pork chops.As we waited for our food, we had a blast chatting and enjoying the view from the balcony. When our meals arrived, it was like a food fashion show. Each dish was a work of art, but the real surprise was those pork chops. I mean, who knew pork chops could be this good? The truffle apple sauce was like the Beyoncé of condiments, stealing the show.For dessert, we had the caramel basket, which is a personal favorite of mine. A candle added a nice touch to the occasion, and we savored every bite.After the meal, my family couldn’t stop praising the experience and expressed their desire to return. This visit was undoubtedly a success, underscoring the restaurant’s consistent commitment to quality.
Just had the oyster, but wow! They were so fresh and the ones we had were from New Zealand. Such a refreshing, meaty oyster flavor. And Ive tried a lot of oysters.
This restaurant was truly top notch. From the time we walked in, we were treated like royalty with outstanding service and the attention to detail.The food was outstanding. Im still talking about it the next day- it made that kind of impression! The wait person asked me if we were celebrating anything and I mentioned that we were celebrating an anniversary- he remembered and brought out a beautiful celebratory ice cream dish before we left.Did I mention the perfect view? It was unforgettable.5 star all the way!
Absolutely delicious food! Every dish was beautifully presented and exquisitely flavored. Our exceptional waiter, who mentioned he has served there for seven years, was passionate about his chef’s food and thoughtfully staged our meal perfectly. The service was sophisticated but fun and the chef rivals Michelin quality, and at a very reasonable price. The atmosphere was also excellent. One of the best meals we’ve had in California!
Quite pricey, and it was a nice touch that we were served water from a green wine bottle with a small dish of sliced lemons. When the server arrived with the bottle & glasses, I informed him that we didnt order wine. 😆 Kudos for the reusable bottle and the environment. Being our first time to eat here, my husband and I decided to share dishes. We really enjoyed the Wild Mushroom Risotto and the dozen Charbroiled Oysters. Our friends ordered the Beef Tataki and the Pan Seared Scallops (our friend missed the part that the scallops were also on a bed of chopped Pork Belly, hence the increase in price). We will have to try that next time, as we really like Pork Belly & cook it at home. It should not be a hidden ingredient. My Asian tongue would find it tastier diced in larger pieces & on a simple bed of steamed rice so as to not compete with the flavors of the seared scallops & pork belly. I believe the gratin, which is basically like a cheesy mashed potatoes would mask the flavors of the scallops & pork belly. For me, simplicity tastes the best when it comes to meats & seafood. As for dessert, the ice cream, bananas & sauce in the Caramel Basket was delicious, though the candied caramel was quite hard & crunchy. 😋 Can the basket be created with a thinner, lacier texture? Also, because I read the Menu that it had flambéed bananas, I was disappointed that it wasnt served with a flame. 🔥 And, there will be no sharing next time! 😂 Our server in the outside patio (sorry, forgot his name already, tall, handsome, young man) was very pleasant, courteous, & occasionally checked on us. We had a nice view of the beach and the pier with lights. The outdoor heaters felt nice & well placed above us as it was a chilly evening. It was a lovely evening with dear friends & I look forward to trying other dishes on our next visit.
Michael was extremely attentive, charismatic and engaging. He made our dining experience delightful! He had outstanding recommendations and we loved all the dishes! Highly recommend the crudo sampler, all the types of oysters were fresh and the crème brùlée was a fantastic finish. Thank you Michael and crew!
Best seafood Ive had. We went for our anniversary and our server, Steven, was the BEST. He had great recommendations and even gave us a dessert. Highly recommended
This place should be rated max 4 stars. The food is okay. Bone marrow is like “meh” I had better ones. Oysters, well, depending on your preference but I don’t like large/big loooking kumina oysters since they are big oysters.
Amazing views, spectacular service and some of the best food I’ve had in my life. We had the salmon and the pork chop and both were finished perfectly with sauces that made us want to lick the plates! The bread pudding with ice cream for dessert was the most amazing compliment to the meal. Can not recommend highly enough. Will definitely be back.
Matthew you’re a great server! The drinks were excellent, the sea bass and the grilled salmon were both delicious. I would recommend the grilled salmon, perfect portion size.If you’re just looking for a quick bite definitely get the sesame ahi tuna chips, only place I could compare those to is the Yardhouse (the poke nachos) these are way better!You won’t be disappointed here, oh and finish your meal with the crème brûlée.
Great place to go. Food and service was really good. My only issue is there were 14 of us and we wanted to sit near one another on the patio and the Mgr didnt even try to make it happen. One group was sat inside 🤷🏾♂️ but we still had a wonderful time.

What a wonderful restaurant - great vibes, nice folks, and delicious food.We came by (with a reservation) for a special occasion and ordered salmon poke tacos to start, scallops and cod for the main, and ended with a surprise dessert.Thoroughly enjoyed the poke tacos - crispy and well seasoned. Both the mains were killer. The cod comes with a side of fried rice and was recommended to dunk spoonfuls of rice in the soup for a tastier bite. Scallops were a bit on the saltier end but it balanced out with the rice - having it alone might be a bit too much.Finally, the dessert we got wasnt on the menu (possibly reserved for special occasions?). It was a miso caramel basket with a scoop of smooth ice cream. Very tasty, shame its not always on the menu.
Excellent from the moment we walked in! Cameron was AMAZING! Host staff was attentive and pleasant. Views were beautiful and the service was top notch! The halibut was cooked perfectly, the scallops were the best we have ever had, and the beet salad was delicious. Cameron was one step ahead of any request we made. The crème brûlée was the perfect dessert to end our meal. There is plenty of free parking in the lot about one block south.
I enjoy it here quite a bit every time I visit. The view is fantastic, the food amazing, and the best service you can get without going to a restaurant with a star.I’ve gotten the Sablefish/Black Cod each time I’ve gone and every time I am blown away by how much depth and complexity there is in the flavor. Really exceptional. Compared to it, the halibut was just bland, but lesson learned, I’ll just keep getting the sablefish.It’s rather nice for celebrations/birthdays too. Took my dad there and they provided him a beautiful dessert which wasn’t on the menu, free of charge!Do reserve though, the wait can be rather long if you don’t.
Finally dined here and really enjoyed my time. Dove right in with a dozen oysters. Very fresh and briny. Enjoyed Brussel Sprouts and Tuna Poke. Food was excellent, but it was really expensive. Had a cocktail and total for all was over $100. Very good and I’d pay it again, but felt it was a little overpriced. Check it out and decide for yourself.

We had a lovely dinner on Sunday evening during Memorial Day weekend. Tip: Make a reservation in advance! Maybe it was because it was a holiday weekend, but they were booked fairly early.We sat indoors but had a nice view of the beach. If you can, try to grab a seat closest to the pier. They roll up the curtains around sunset so the view is amazing.We started off with some fresh oysters (beau soleil, grassy bar, kumiai) and charbroiled oysters. We relied on our server’s expertise to recommend some oyster types for us, and he didn’t disappoint! They came with 3 sauces and the cocktail sauce was one of the most flavorful I’ve ever had. The horseradish was a bit too strong for us, while the mignonette was tasty.The entrees were both amazing. The scallops were cooked nicely and decently sized. The chiles were not that noticeable flavor-wise but the corn and au gratin potatoes gave the entire dish some nice texture.The pork chop was excellently prepared — it was a thick portion that was tender and juicy on the inside while having a nice crisp char on the outside. The sides also really helped elevate the dish: the bread pudding reminded me of high quality Thanksgiving stuffing, and the creamed spinach and sourdough crisp that sit under the pork chop benefitted from the juices of the meat. The creamed spinach was also not super creamy, which I appreciated. I’m not usually a fan of pork chop but this is one of the best prepared and creative versions I’ve had.We finished with a chocolate berry dessert cocktail that was packed with flavor. The table next to us was also intrigued and asked us about it. I would recommend if you like chocolate, berries, and sweetness.Overall a really great restaurant with beautiful views and delicious food. Our server Shane was also great — attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. He also comped us a couple of oysters to taste because he wasn’t sure how we’d like them — we really appreciated that! Can’t recommend this restaurant enough if you’re looking for a romantic night out at Pismo Beach.

The staff were friendly and the food and drinks were very good. We weren’t seated in the outdoor covered patio but we still had a lovely view of the ocean.
The staff is always so courteous and attentive. Atmosphere is perfect for any occasion, date night, anniversary, or girls night out. And of course the food is always spot on and the variety of choices is awesome. Quality of the food is incomparable.Had a great experience!!!!
I don’t ever have high hopes for restaurants with ocean views. They don’t have to try hard to get clientele. I was so happy that Oyster Loft had great food, including non seafood entrees with flavor and style. The service was excellent. Good selection of oysters and fish. The view of Pismo’s pier and beach at sunset is dreamy. The portions are small, if you want to fill up on nachos or fish and chips, Woody’s downstairs is for that. Oyster Loft is a special occasion place!
Exceptional food. Nice presentation. Excellent service. The grilled oysters are delicious, they are in the appetizer section but an order of 12 is the perfect size for an entree. Park in a nearby paid lot during busy weekends and Fri eves, otherwise on the street parking is available.
It’s hard to make a reservation online. We walked in for making a reservation, and they told us needed to wait for 2 hours. However, we actually wait for half hour. There are not too much crowds. So confused why they would told us needed to wait more than two hours.I only like oysters from Canada. Both of Fanny bay and Kumiai’s are too fishy for me. Cocktail is cool and great. Waitress seemed don’t know what oysters they have, but bartender are professional.
We went strictly by reviews when trying to pick a place for dinner in Pismo Beach. We decided on the oyster loft as it had an amazing location. Our server was friendly and kind. One of the drinks was not so good and she happily replaced it with something else for one of us.Right next to a beautiful fish tank which had a nice ambiance, and the rest of the place was swanky and pleasant. We ordered the sable fish, and would have ordered the swordfish because we looked at a menu that was online. Unfortunately they dont do that anymore so my other half was very disappointed. Nothing else on the menu looked really good to him So he tried the herb chicken. It was grizzly, fatty and below average. Very disappointing for the price... The one bright spot that we ordered was the hamachi appetizer. Very very good.The sable fish which was similar to a black cod was slightly above average although it was cooked perfectly. The flavor was very one-dimensional. Again disappointing for the price. We hail from San Diego so were a little spoiled with incredible restaurants. Based on the reviews I was really hoping for something fantastic but it fell short.Again our server was really great as well as the girl who assisted her. Had I known the chicken was that bad and he spoken up I would have told him to send it back. He didnt want to create a stink and just tried to deal with it.
Location & service great. The salmon & charbroiled oysters were outstanding, tuna tower yummy 😋 the scallops with corn succatash was average. Scallops were a bit overdone & although they used fresh corn the texture was a bit Chewy, like old corn. I would go back for the location & the oysters.

This is definitely my favorite restaurant on the coast. Limited hours so if you liked a treat. Get in while you can! The oysters, octopus, lobster, peanut butter tower and cocktails and to die for! The view and atmosphere is non comparable to all local spots. A little pricey but worth every penny!
Awesome ambiance by the beach view. Service was excellent. People are very friendly and generous there. They know how to take care of their customers. Coming to food taste- crab cakes and spicy jalapeño tuna was the best rest are ok. Slightly overpriced and the amount is very less compared to price
My husband and I took my son and his girlfriend, who were visiting from the Philippines, here for dinner. They loved everything about this place. They travel a lot and have been to a lot of places and are foodies and they really enjoyed the food and service here. They especially loved the Omakase. We ended up getting another order. The Chef really did a good job. We always take our visitors here and they never fail to impress... and so the tradition goes on. Special thanks to Shane, our server, and Sarah, the manager. Shane was knowledgeable and attentive, while Sarah works the room so well, making sure everyone feels at home. Congratulations and keep up the excellent job!
Just wow! The food was a culinary adventure. Every dish was perfection. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our servers knowledge of every dish and drink was amazing. The atmosphere was warm and cozy, yet spacious. And the view!!! A spectacular sunset completes this dining experience.The only complaint is parking. The city is under construction and has limited parking (hopefully temporary), so plan on walking a few blocks. It is worth it!
We had dinner there last night. The food was good, not great and it was very pricey. The service was very good and the cocktails were good. We know where to get better food in SLO county at a much better price. Plus they charged us extra for using a credit card....cheap!
Very very good restaurant. A bit pricey but worth it. Salmon was $36, wild mushroom tortellini was $27. Very nice selection of wines and cocktails. Very good view of Pismo Beach. The only bad thing is the wait for food. We waited for almost 1 hour for our food but overall experience is worth it.
The food was amazing, but Michael our server made everything even better. He became our friend during our short time there eating dinner. The Wagu steak and double pork chop was delicious!!
If you come out to the beach don’t miss out this great place for oysters! They don’t have outdoor but a patio for dinning. Good view with sunsetting and sip of wine! This is the vacation all you need
Appetizers and drinks were excellent. The hostess was peeved with us because we arrived late for our reservation. She refused to seat us outdoor on a table with a view of the ocean, even though they were open. We left after appetizers/drinks and would have stayed for dinner otherwise.
I hate how good this was! Why did you have to be so good?Honestly, please go here. I cannot get over this place. They are unique with their food, fun staff, great atmosphere and truly one of the greats. We had the pork chops and fish special, both plates were splendid and their desert was not overly sweet which was divine!
Our 6th time here.Shane our waiter was perfect. Omakase was amazing. Drinks were perfect. We love this place ❤. Sarah the manager always seems to check in at the right time. She runs an outstanding crew that seamlessly makes everything flow in synchronicity. A must experience. Thanks for making our dinner so special.
This was our 25th anniversary . the staff at this restaurant made us feel like a king and queen, my husband had a huge bouquet of flowers delivered and they had it placed on our table perfectly. The food was magnificent and the service could not have been better. I cant say enough about it, everybody should come to this restaurant. If the management would like to post this comment please feel free to do so.
Flavorful food but small in portion. Charbroiled oysters come with a strong cheese that I think over cast the flavors of oysters. Ceviche is good but not as great as we had in central, South America. Miso glazed sable fish is good, but very small in portion. The rice tastes like a “white people rice” but not bad.
I first came here in 2020 and absolutely loved the oysters, crudo, and other raw dishes. This time I was avoiding raw and went with the octopus, chopped Caesar, and waygu ny steak. Sauces on the octopus and steak was amazing, can’t wait to come again.

My girl and I took a short vacation up the coast a week ago to check out SLO, Morro Bay and visit Pismo Beach again. We had a lot of good meals, but the Oyster Lofts pork chop topped them all! Thank you, Seth, for the recommendation and all-around awesome service. You made our last night in town extra special.
If you want a great dinning experience than this is your place.The taste and smells will bring you in. And then you will immerse yourself in the flavor of the food . Chef Jared is amazing and the staff is great. Chef could make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich a 5 course meal it is that good..

Upscale restaurant by the pier with great vibes and pretty good seafood in SLO. don’t regret going here but would probably try somewhere else next time i’m in town.charbroiled oysters: these were sooo good! never had oysters made this way but the smokiness balanced out the brine of the oyster. must try!morro bay oysters: pretty good small west coast oyster. appreciated the variety of toppingssablefish: the cod was flaky, juicy and flavorful and the broth paired well with it.berry corn shortcake: pretty good dessert but nothing to write home about
The inside of the restaurant is beautiful and the view is incredible! The signature cocktails are amazing and the bar staff are very professional and fast. Our server Cristy was very nice and offered us good advice for choices on the wine and food menus. The food tasted great and it was presented beautifully. Our oysters were perfection! They made our evening fantastic and the floor manager was a delight. We had a great time!
Oh my goodness! We celebrated our 53rd Anniversary at the Oyster Loft this evening and it was nothing short of PERFECTION! The food, ambience and detailed service by Daniel and Brandon were over and above. What a great dinner experience, thank you!
You should probably put in a reservation if you want a table, don’t gamble on one being available. The food was excellent, but whomever is shucking those oysters needs a lesson so as not to leave chunks of shell on the oysters that were ordered both fresh and broiled. The tuna tataki and beef tataki are out of this world delicious. The service was good, but not stellar. Nothing to take a star away for, but I shouldn’t really have to ask for a water refill in a joint like this…. Small nuances. I’d eat at Oyster Loft again, but I won’t go out of my way to get there.
Great service. Good drink selection. There is a lot of fusion based dishes there. Some faves include bone marrow and the omakase dish. The view out to the ocean is stunning at night. Worth a look if you are in town! Make a reservation!
What a truely stunning restaurant. The setting and decor are flawless, as is the menu and service. The lighting and ambiance here are fabulous. They have a great terrace that looks out over the ocean. They have some really amazing items on the menu. Most of it is seafood and a lot is locally sourced. The fish is all fresh and they have great oysters. The service was impeccable. Make sure to leave room for desert which is just as good as the seafood. The Bar man makes a great martini. All pretty reasonably priced for the quality of food and service. I will definitely be back next time I’m back in pismo beach.

Came here for a bachelorette party. Food was delicious! We ordered the octopus, scallop carpaccio, tuna tower, 3 types of oysters, and miso black cod. Everything was extremely well done and fresh. Service was also great, our waitress was attentive and helpful. The bill came out to ~$350 for 8 people, including a few drinks.
The best seafood restaurant in Pismo. I enjoyed everything I ordered. Super fresh and tasty seafood. Strongly recommend the raw oysters with pairing wine. Its the best raw oysters I have ever had. All their desserts are delicious too.
This is a MUST. Food was delicious and they accommodated my gluten allergy. Our waitress was lovely and caring. Beautiful sunset and the best dining experience in Pismo. We loved the bone marrow. YUM!!!
Drove up to Pismo Beach from LA on Valentines day just for this place (solo trip). It had a 4.7 star rating at the time and if you travel at all you know thats a high standard to carry so I had to check it out. I will say it lived up to the hype, the wine selection was amazing, staff was awesome, atmosphere was on point, I have zero complaints about this place. I would say that its definitely worth the drive, this is 100% a destination you must get to!!!
This place is absolutely amazing. Food is top notch. Service is some of the best Ive experienced. The environment is great, right on the beach with fantastic views. I wont bring my 3 year old here but have seen kids in here. Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable about any menu items. If your a dessert person ask for the Carmel basket.Just went again for Valentines day. Was not disappointed again!!!
FANTASTIC!!!! I’ve gotta figure out how to upload a video because besides the phenomenal food, I had one of the best cocktails I have ever had. That’s really saying a lot considering I’m pretty old and have lived large. The Rosemary Cucumber Gimlet was capped with a smoke bubble that exploded as I took my first sip. The whole restaurant took notice and I even had people come to our table to inquire. Our server was top notch and the whole experience was off the charts.
Excellent meal & service! We had a table outside on the deck which sheltered us from the wind. The Pan Seared Scallops are delectable. Must also have the Peanut Butter Chocolate Tower!
What a gem. We came expecting maybe this is a typical seafood place for tourists but the food went beyond that. The entrees were put together beautifully (the blend of flavors as well as the look). The appetizers were incredible. The octopus appetizer was superb. The tuna tower was impressively large and very tasty with the sauce not overpowering the fish. Service was great. The whiskey 50 cocktail I had was very good. We didnt have dessert, so I cannot comment on that. Im not sure the dessert selections rise to what they have on the rest of the menu (from description) but perhaps they are good I just dont know.

We made reservations ahead of time for 7pm, the evening of my birthday (Sunday). The vibe is very relaxed and cool, yet warm.The hostesses were extremely gracious and seated us promptly.We enjoyed a half dozen oysters, pork belly and ceviche appetizers, and for the entrees; filet mignon, halibut, seafood dish, and hangar steak. All were divine and the presentation was outstanding.The desserts were decadent and tasty; creme brûlée with extra berries, peanut butter ( I forget the name) and a butter pecan ice cream.
Absolutely amazing place for a romantic dinner. The food was delicious as was the service. Used to come here as a kid when it was Pierside and the location has significantly upgraded to what it is now. Can’t wait to return.

The Oyster Loft is my style of restaurant and we enjoyed the food and its presentation. My Duck was exquisite, and our server Daniel was amazing and gracious. Next time we will make a reservation for the tables closest to the ocean view. Either way the setting was romantic.

The Oyster Loft never lets me down. Consistantly delish! Anything you order will be amazing, but I highly recommend the porkchop. OMG incred-i-ble!! The staff is top notch specifically Carlee and the new General Manager Britney were so wonderful and accommodating. They made our belated Mothers day super special.
FOOD POISONING! 8pm Dinner reservation, the server did not tell us the kitchen closes at 9pm. She did not tell us either that most of the dishes we ordered will be missing ingredients because they ran out. And, she did not tell us they only had 1 crème brûlée left as a dessert option.We shared the Poke tower. It was not chilled but warm to my surprise. Good flavors.My friend ordered the beets & chèvre salad. It did not match the description on the menu because they ran out of ingredients. Still charged full price. Very small portion.Same with the Caesar salad, no anchovies and no crispy bits.The Brussels sprouts were the best dish on the table.I ordered the black cod which basically was a couple pieces of fish in a very oily consommé. Basically fish in a bow of soup with one piece of asparagus. No white miso. Sticky white rice was dumped on a side plate - no effort on the presentation.$250 dollar dinner for 4 was NOT worth it. I spoke to Johnny the Manager. He barely apologized and did not ‘adjust’ our check.Three of us almost slipped and fell going to the bathroom because the cheap linoleum flooring is SO SLIPPERY!!I THREW UP ALL NIGHT - FOOD POISONING. Chills, fever and excruciating stomach cramps.
Food and service are always outstanding. Oysters are super fresh and the atomic horseradish is excellent. The brussels sprout appetizer is a favorite every time we go.
We always hit the Oyster Loft when in town. This is one of our 2 most favorite places in the SLO area. First is The Galley in Morro Bay but the experiences at each of these places cant be beat. Plan on spending some time here for dinner. First, the oysters... They have the best selection of oysters from various locations from East to West coast. They even have local oysters. Have tried them all and they are all great. My wife is very partial to their crab cakes and the salted caramel bowl with ice cream and bananas Foster on the bottom. I always try something different and have always been impressed with whatever I ordered. This time they had a special, Chilean Sea Bass and it was cooked to perfection. Last time had the diver scallops and they were just as amazing. There is a slight asian flare to their dishes and it is just amazing. I also need to mention the best server, Brie, and her cheerful attitude and responsive service. She was amazing!!! Bartenders are also the best!!!Update 5/29/19. Was up in Pismo area, made reservations at 7 pm, were promptly greeted, sat a bar for about 30 min until our reservation time. Service and food this visit was fantastic except for one dish, the Cesar Salad had lots of wilted slimy lettuce in it. Pork Chop, Oysters,crab Cakes, and dessert was all fantastic. Was hoping manager would visit table like he was everyone else but he never did. Nonetheless, we picked through bad lettuce and salad was good. The only reason for downgrade to 4 stars was for the wilted lettuce in salad.
Good food, great view. Only thing that annoyed me and I wish they would fix was the music being cut off when they call for a number. They have great Vibe music and then it gets ruined when its interrupted.

This is a destination special experience. Pricey but worth it. Scallop Carpacio Sashimi Sampler Ocotopus and Shishido Peppers Bone Maro Steak Capacio all top rate quality with beautiful platings. Service excellent. Pier and sunset view incredible.If in SLO County dont imiss out if your a Sashimi seafood buff. Wine list is SLO County centric.

Had about (exactly) 30 happy hour oysters here. On a Wednesday. Plus 4 glasses of SB. Overall. Worthy trip. Right next to the Pismo Beach pier. Walk up the stairs. Eat some delicious seaboogers, I mean oysters!

Service was amazing and that alone is worth a visit. My shishito lemon drop was incredible and well balanced. The octopus and grilled oysters were charred to perfection and delicious. However, the seafood tower was absolutely exquisite! The crème brûlée was light and creamy. It is a must try. This is the perfect date night and upscale family night we all deserve.
We have been coming here over the July 4th holiday for several years. Food is always good, as is service. This last time, I had the filet which was outstanding. The scallops with corn succotash is also good.

Citrus Salmon is unbelievable awesome. I love the fresh oysters, but the salmon is too good. It’s the best salmon I have had. And the atmosphere and service is great. I love this restaurant. If you visit Pismo, the restaurant is the best place to eat.
We enjoyed an amazing evening here last night, just in time for sunset. We’re not oyster lovers, so can’t comment on that. The menu is excellent, the service fabulous: Timothy was superb, and the food is beyond excellent. We had the Scallops. The best we’ve ever had - perfectly seared, tender and juicy, and so sweet. The succotash and scalloped potatoes accompaniment were delicious, and the Caramel Basket dessert was “to die for”. We’ll definitely be back for another delicious and romantic evening overlooking Pismo Pier.
Outstanding service, food, and atmosphere. Our favorite date night spot. I recommend the charbroiled oysters (I wasnt a big fan of oysters before we began eating at this restaurant but now look forward to them every time). Save room for their desserts and you wont be disappointed.
Overall great dining experience although a bit on the pricier side. The ambiance was intimate and mostly quite with the exception of a very loud and obnoxious patron right next to us. Our waiter, Philip was extremely courteous and very knowledgeable; he had several recommendations and suggested his favorites, but didnt pressure us. I had a few Moscow mules that were tasty, but its kind of hard to mess up a mule (but it does happen). We shared a half dozen oysters which were great and served with some nice sauces. I had the filet mignon which was cooked just as I asked, medium rare, and served on a bed of delicious whipped potatoes with a side of tasty garlic asparagus. For dessert, I had the creme brûlée which as as tasty as expected. (Sorry for the bad lighting, but I didnt want to attract attention with the flash going off)
Fantastic sopt for perfectly shucked oysters, creative seafood dishes and original cocktails that actually taste incredible. I usually think smoked cocktails are all show and no substance, but the smoked old fashioned is seriously one of the best drinks Ive had.
Do yourself a favor and be sure to put this incredible find on your must do list when in Pismo. The bar exudes romance because the architecture has you feeling like your below the surface of the ocean looking out through coral openings at the pier, and the surfers riding the waves.Magical location for observing sunset with your loved one.The outstanding food and service deserves ten stars.Pismo is filled with some really great restaurants but we just had to spend our second night at the Oyster Loft. Behind the scene was an incredibly talented Chef who made every presentation deserving of a Wow! from not only us but all the tables around us. Cu-dos to Shane and Dane behind the bar, Artists in their profession. Jeffrey, our waiter, sharing his honest opinion that was spot on and led to an incredible second night. Both our evenings were topped off by a genuine, personable manager who instilled a sincere appreciation for our dining choice and made us feel like relatives rather than patrons. Thank you, Neil. Special thanks to all our new friends we met for the first time that night who shared there Smokey Old Fashion, another first for us. Excellent experience, both nights. I highly recommend this restaurant. The food and their service are on an upscale level! My husband and I ordered the halibut and local sablefish and we both loved it. The flavors are so unique! I can’t remember the name of our server but he is awesome! He is very knowledgeable of their menu and took his time to answer our questions about our food. Such a great experience we had.

Exceeded expectations. Shared 3 items off of Crudo menu, and the Orange Glazed Octopus salad. The salad was fantastic...Octopus was tender and flavorful, salad perfectly dressed. The orange butter gastrique was sensational and perfect compliment to the octopus. One of the most successfully unusual dishes Ive had in a long time. The Tuna Poke Tower, Pepper Seared Hamachi and Citrus Cured Salmon were very fresh, and flavors were delicate but complex. Only small suggestion is just a touch more heat in the sauce for the tuna and the Hamachi. Service was efficient and friendly, and view of pier from patio was lovely, although the patio de or could use a little more imagination. Not sure about wine list since we brought our own wine, but appreciated the appropriately charged $15 corkage! Will most definitley be back!!

I think Im giving this one high marks for unexpected pleasure. Walking around the neighborhood, I was expecting the restaurant to be more of a local haunt than an upscale dining experience. The cocktails were on trend, and the food was vibrant. I had the scallops, which were perfectly tender. Excellent sunset views, even if youre not on the terrace.
Staff is rude. The wait is ridiculous. An empty restaurant, and a 2 and a half hour wait. The food is nothing speacial and tasteless.

The perfect dinner! How often do you have the chance to see that about a restaurant? My wife found the scallops and she said for flavorful and delightful. I had the pork chop I think I’ve ever eaten. Pork chops can be dry or tasteless, this one was flavorful moist and cooked to perfection. I also had a smoked old fashion which is also superb. The service was also perfect. If you’re thinking of going just go ahead and make reservations now, you’ll be happy you did.

Great location ! perfect views of the ocean. Food was excellent and along with a great atmosphere made for a great dining experience. Our waiter Shane was amazing ! Made us feel right at home and never rushed. Had the Wagyu New York strip and it was cooked to perfection a definite must have.
The bone marrow is divine, service is excellent. They accommodated my gluten allergy and I am so thankful for that.

Updating a previous review. Went back for dinner and they were amazing. Recommendations were excellent and they were very accommodating to a food allergy. I had the Sablefish and all I can say was WOW. Service was attentive across the board, but a special call out for Cameron and Noah. Noah has mastered the art of polite and unobtrusive service, always smiling. Cameron was a master guide throughout our evening and made sure we had a memorable night for our anniversary. Well be back!
Location, location, location! Oceanfront right on the Pismo Beach Pier. Great attentive end to end service. I ordered scallops, cooked to perfection with fresh succatash. Partner ordered double boned pork chop, Best he said he ever had, though the bread pudding served in its plate was not that good. We asked had plenty of wine beige coming here, and didnt order further drinks. My plate serving was small, but perfect enough. No bread is served here. You works probably need an appetizer. The potatoes mentioned in the scallops listing was about one tablespoon. I liked the food though, fresh and good. Oysters is their specialty but we dont eat oysters, though they seemed popular, and people around us commented on them.
Fantastic Dinner, Oysters with atomic horseradish were the highlight. I would recommend the pan seared scallops. Our server Tristan did a fantastic job of making our meal perfect. Our kid is fairly persnickety and enjoyed the tempura battered chicken strips. Will definitely be back.
My girlfriend and I ate here for our anniversary and it was some of the best food we have ever had in our lives! So so good, and the staff was amazing our waiter was Cameron and he did such a good job 10/10 experience

Most delicious brussels sprouts Ive ever tasted. The grilled chicken was cooked perfectly to keep it juicy, better than Ive ever had. Everyone in our party enjoyed their food & cocktails. The waiter even remembered my moms food allergy. The mochi cake dessert was amazing.
One of my favorite restaurants in SLO. Ask for Victor or Tim you wont regret it. Seafood tower is a must for a big group. The oysters are amazing and evertrhing from their apps to their entrees to their craft cocktails are top notch. Be ready to spend a pretty penny because it is expensive but boy is it worth every cent!
It is so hard to find a restaurant with beautiful ocean views and quality food, but this place nails it. I highly recommend the Tuna Tataki and Octopus, but every dish weve tried is delicious!

Revised to 5 stars on second visit - seating has been shifted a bit, and the food may have even been better the second time! Must haves are the ahi poke tower, and then peanut butter-chocolate tower. If you forget, just eat anything that is a tower.

Dined here with my wife on 7/30/22. I ordered the wagyu NY & my wife ordered the the roasted chicken. I asked for my steak medium well due to my wife being pregnant and having to eat well cooked steak. Our server was condescending in his attempt to get me to order the steak medium. He tried to belittle me and basically tell me I was going to ruin the steak. While he was correct about the steak ideally being cooked to medium, as a server his job is to get the customer what they want. A recommendation is okay, however once a customer reassures you of what they want it is not your job to try and coerce them to do what you want. To top it off, when I received my steak it was barely cooked to medium, so I was not able to share with my wife. In order to avoid more back and forth I just let it go, however I thought I should bring it to the attention of management. Overall the food is great every time we come here but my experience this visit was subpar due to our server. I only took one star off my rating, if it wasn’t for my experience with the server this restaurant is 5 stars in my book. I hope to come back soon and have a better experience.
Amazing view, of course. I was with a large party. The wagyu steak was fabulous. The halibut was cooked perfectly but zero flavor. The chopped caesar was bland, two bites of bacon with skimpy dressing. Service is outstanding and makes up for mediocre food.
We anticipated that Oyster Loft was going to be a typical seafood place at the beach, meaning good food, but ordinary setting and service. Boy were we wrong. The interior of the restaurant was upscale and the veranda where we sat was nice too. For example, there was a half glass wall to shelter you from the wind, and an automatic shade that came down to shield our eye from the glare of the low sun - until if was setting. Then the shade was raised to we could take in the whole view. Thoughtful.The food was better than expected in every way. Our oyster starter featured big tasty oysters. The ceviche had an elegant vinegar citrus sauce that was light and tangy. And our main course of scallops was outstanding.Our server was professional, courteous, and fun. The view over the beach and the pier to the Pacific ocean couldnt be improved.The perfect way to top off another day in paradise.
We got a table on the lounge facing the ocean with a perfect view for sunset. The food are great. We had the charbroil oyster, bone marrow and sear halibut and scallop. The scallop was spectacularly prepared. Halibut smelled great with lobster bisque sauce, flavor wise it wasnt as tasty as the scallop. Cocktails were nicely prepared as well. Overall a very pleasant experience.
One word: AMAZING! The drinks, the starters, the main courses, the dessert, everything was just fantastic. You could pick anything on this menu and not go wrong. The service and the view of the beach was great as well. If youre ever out this way, do yourself a favor and make a reservation here. Will definitely be coming back again!

Great view of the ocean from inside or outside. Good was artful but excellent. Not a lot of wine choices, but theyre all good. Dessert sells out quickly, so if your dinner starts later order your dessert choice when you order your main course.

This is one of our favorites for dinner when we are in Pismo. The atmosphere is lovely. They have a small outdoor patio if you like dining outdoors. There are seafood and land offerings on the menu. The fresh oysters are a must! However, after two visits here, and requesting an outdoor seat on the reservation, Im not quite sure how you secure a spot on the patio.
First of all it’s a beautiful place with a stunning view of Pismo. The service is excellent and the cocktails are wonderful. All of the food was very tasty but the portions are very small. The pan seared scallops were very good but you only get three and 1 ounce of potatoes and a little corn. $31.00. The appetizers are bigger than the entrees so I would recommend them. It was $180.00 for three persons and we were all hungry an hour later. I would go back for sushi and drinks but skip it for a traditional dinner.
Very nice fine dining overlooking the ocean. We got a table next to a window and the view was beautiful. The cocktails were delicious. We ordered the seafood platter for a starter, which was a special for the weekend. We also shared the pork, and I must say, best pork Ive ever eaten ! It was perfectly cooked and had a perfect glaze. Even though its very expensive spot its worth all the money If you want a fine dining experience. Also staff was very prof9 and friendly.

With a listed pastry chef, the desserts are wonderfully unique.-- Wait staff pays close attention, and knows their product inside & out. This makes for a truly delightful dining experience.-- As much thought has gone into the sauces and presentation, as the unique dishes themselves.-- Large indoor bar with plenty of bar-side, single bar stools.-- Plenty of indoor/outdoor tables with most having direct view of the ocean/boardwalk/pier. Outdoor seating has upper, side-wall mounted heaters (hence red glow of food pics).-- Theres even a larger, round table in a private, indoor room (no outdoors view) in the back.-- Upbeat, techno-dance type music over speakers.-- With all the drinks, appetizers, desserts, expect to pay upwards of $80+ per person--worth every penny!
We enjoy everything about the place, but the service wasnt what I expected. Had to wait to be seated and table cleaned, but over all we like having lunch on the beech
This place is fantastic. With ocean and pier views, fresh oysters, remarkable cocktails, and top-of-the-line food, I would say its a must for Pismo Beach visitors. It can get pricey, but its worth more than what you pay.

Shane was our waiter who was super nice! The service was at a slower pace in general but we specifically asked for it that way for ourselves. The oysters weren’t shucked well and we had quite a bit of shells but the manager made it right by waving the cost. Wine is priced well and good views will go there again
Honestly, I have a couple favorite places on the east coast with Michelin stars, and I would prefer to come here. The wait staff is incredibly nice and knowledgeable. The wine selection is good. There are a variety of oysters always available, and they are well shucked! The entrees are incredible. The black cod and the scallops are both perfect. The flavoring is complex and incredible! The presentation and plating is excellent, as well.

Celebrated our 2 year anniversary here. The food was incredible, and our server, an older gentleman, was exceptional. We will absolutely be back and highly recommend dining here. The two of us ordered 7 different dishes and we thoroughly enjoyed them all. The porkchop and the scallop dish was perfection!
I know we’ve heard of the curse of the black pearl but move out the way pirates of the carribean, this is about the gift and absolute jewel of a white pearl that is oyster loft. The ambiance is bussin, food just phenomenal I mean *chefs kiss* and I would of kissed the chef after if they let me. The drinks all hit like a #1 chart topping certified banger. And to top it off, the best part, Michael, our dear server which pretty sure his middle and last name start with V and P because he’s the MVP. He’s perfection, he’s like episode of SpongeBob where all he knows is fine dining and breathing except this guy has personality to spare, staring into his eyes was like listening to the Beatles for the first time. I was swooning for my hot date for the night but we were both swooning for Michael. Will be back for the pork chop, Iron Mike. Well be back.
Great location and server was friendly. Food was also good. Server broke glass and spilled drink all over one of our guests. No visit from the manager to check in after. Should be part of the protocol of customer service especially for a dinner that was over $200.
I was in Pismo Beach for vacation and didn’t know where to eat. I went into town looking for seafood. I saw the Oyster Loft. I thought I would stop in. I didn’t have a reservation, just a walk in. I was an ONLY, a single eater. I had hoped to get an outside seating area. I was one of the first 8’peopleIn line. However,Like most places they like to seat the ONLYs at the bar. Not what I wanted but I was the only person at the bar.I waited about 5 minutes before someone came up to me at the bar and asked if I’d like water and set a placeSetting down. They brought the water and asked if I’d like a menu. I said yes and a few minutes they brought me a mine and told Me the specials. The first was a steak and the second was a chicken and finally a bland sounding seafood dish.The server left and I refused the menu. For an Oyster Loft, I expected to see a good variety of oysters offered.The 2 Options I saw were a 1/2 dozen chefs choice and a 1/2 dozen charbroiled oysters, chefs choice.Not really much choice and not a lot of seafood selections.It apparently didn’t matter much. While the servers were running around helping the folks on the deck, My server didn’t come around again to see what I wanted to drink or eat. After 5 More minutes, I walked out.I typically tip 25% or more because I understand what’s been going on with the pandemic and restaurants.Not great service and I was really expecting a better selection. I wouldn’t return, especially as an ONLY!

Oyster Loft definitely the place to go if you are looking for best atsmosphere and ambiance on the central coast when it comes to sea food. The food is delicious, the drinks are great, and the service is top tier. Overall i give them 5 stars just because of the amazing vibe and the servers are genuinely kind and helpful. Steven the bartender is a 10/10, his drinks as well. (Best I’ve ever had is an understatement)
The reception ladies were very welcoming. The table next to the fish tank was an awesome view while able to view the Christmas tree on the pier. The service from Matt and his team was amazing. Everything was amazing and we will be back again.

Excellent food, well prepared entrees, higher price but quality! Host was not welcoming ( like a mean guard dog) and servers were functional but not well trained in proper table service. Very slow with lots of clueless smiles with of course and my pleasure while you wait. Hope they can improved table service to match the quality of food !
If you want to watch a beautiful sunset and see the views Id recommend eating outside, they do have heating! The food we ordered was too beautiful to wreck but when we dove in it was nothing but spectacular, id recommend to anyone who loves seafood. Ps: their is other things to have than oysters :) salmon, tuna, scallops, steak, etc...

I have to say that even though I really didnt find anything on the menus that I thought Id like, I got the salmon and turned out to be very very very excellent! And if mean excellent! Can’t believe this place has 4.7 stars… not with it. We have enjoyed coming here in years past. The food was lovely, but our service was absolutely terrible. When you pay a premium for the food and beverages you expect high quality service. This wasnt even average service...far below. Our server assistant was better than our server. Sadly, we wont go back. We are giving the three stars solely on the good, over priced food.

This place has a fluid and elegant feel. Food is top notch! The presentation is well thought out and exceeded my expectations. The manager, Sarah greeted us upon arriving, and offered a hand shake. She personally came to check on us. Seeing that I was not eating oysters but my husband was, she offered to bring me a charbroiled oyster for me to try at no charge. It was amazing!The waiter Victor exhibited professionalism and patiently explained all menu options upon questioning different dishes. Can’t say enough about this place, must come experience it yourself!
We had ordered the scallop carpaccio, seared tuna tataki, octopus, and wild mushroom risotto. The food is absolutely phenomenal! The staff are both kind and welcoming.

Nice little place next to the beach. Good atmosphere, friendly staff, excellent food. Dessert/pastry chef is top notch. Price is 30 to 50 per person and some really expensive options. Very good but pricey drinks. Get reservations if going after 5PM even during week unless you want to sit at bar.
Amazing view, great service and drinks, pretty good food. Would have given them 5 stars but my second steak option came out undercooked for my liking. I say second option because they refused to let me get a New York steak cooked different from their recommendations which was weird but I ended up getting a wagyu steak. All and all a very nice place.
Servers were amazing, food was delicious (try the grilled octopus, seriously!), and their full bar was high class: they even make some of their own syrups! Oysters were very fresh and theyre doing in-door seating now if you dont want a balcony view overlooking the ocean.
Amazing!!! Loved the food, service, and ambiance. Got to enjoy some fresh oysters and crab cake. Got the organic chicken entree.. the juiciest chicken Ive ever had. Amazing flavor. Ordered the caramel basket for dessert.. speechless! Everything about that dessert was amazing. Definitely coming back.

Location and view were awesome! Youre right next to pier and the food was quick and fast. However the quality of the food wasnt the best. But if youre looking for a good vibe I suggest this place.

Oysters were fantastic. Service was beyond exceptional (shout out to new server Michael). Every part of the restaurant was what one hopes their dining experience to be. We had oysters and cocktails which were perfectly executed. Will definitely be coming back.

We’ve been traveling on a road trip for 2 weeks and this was hands down the best meal we’ve had so far. Everything on the menu looked great- it was hard to choose. We got oysters, octopus salad, and risotto and everything was delicious. The service was outstanding. We got and amazing ocean view table and caught the last bit of sunset. The hostess and our waiter Paco were both so nice and accommodating — if you love good seafood then definitely dine here
Ambiance is nice, but not particularly romantic, as other reviews have claimed. Food is very well prepared and nicely presented. Drinks are well done...but beware when the server asks what brand liquor you want...she neglected to tell us that was another$5 option. Altogether, a nice experience, and well try it again, but it wasnt as special as wed expected.
Everything was exquisitely prepared, very fresh & tasty. We mostly did appetizers: poke taco - a brilliant creation! Crispy, fresh mouth watering delicious. I’m a big poke fan-but never had it in a taco...The pumpkin risotto perfectly prepared-great side dish. I’m not a Brussels sprouts fan but my friend ordered them and the presentation was beautiful & he said they were best ever. All their presentations were very artistic and worthy of a top shelf restaurant...The service was nearly obsequious but not intrusive...our waiter Timmy knew his stuff and was excellent at explaining and advising.We got there in time for gorgeous sunset...the decor is very well done - comfortably chic I’d call it.I will certainly become a regular at this class-act establishment.
Expensive but enjoyable evening. Disappointed with the size of the pasta entree. My daughter went home hungry. There were only 6 pieces of pasta in the dish. However, everyone else enjoyed their meals. The drinks and the oysters were phenomenal as usual.
Went there last night for our anniversary very friendly service great ambience beautiful view of the pier and ocean. Our waiter Jeff was fabulous!! The oysters were amazing never been to a place with that large of a selection of different oysters from all over the US and Canada. We had the pork belly starter and octopus salad, for our entrées we had the halibut and the pork chop, unbelievable The wait staff helps each other out I think that’s a huge plus. Would recommend this establishment to everyone.

First class! They have a great drink menu and their mixologists are top notch. Ive never had oysters before I tried them here and they actually are pretty good. Their presentation is also really good. We had raw and cooked oysters and they were both really good. For dinner I had the salmon. The sink was crispy and the meat was cooked perfectly. Flaky and moist. Very delish. Kind of pricey, but you get what you pay for.
Service was excellent and our waiter was very attentive. The food was hit and miss. I really enjoyed the seared scallops but did not like the charred oysters because they were too cheesy for my taste. The poke tower was good, Ive had better. All the food is presented nicely but Id have to say that the best part of this restaurant are the unique cocktails. The smoked whiskey was delicious!
We had a date night there on Thursday, and it was cool and all, but maybe like not all the way there. Had a good time with friends, but that was going to be a thing anyway.

2023-10-08 18:16:25I was there with my wife for my birthday during a weekend day. We had a reservation, and we got the table right the way even if we arrived earlier. Beautiful welcome in from waiter, and the view was amazing. We could watch the ocean and enjoy our dinner. Great selection of seafood and meat. We went for seafood. Seafood is really fresh and tasty. Dishes and drinks arrived quickly and at the right time. No pressure to leave or eat from the restaurant. Place was quiet and full of attention on the details. The best dish that we had was the octopus. All Dishes were good and all of them gave a different experience. I strongly recommend this place if you are around.

2023-09-28 03:56:57My boyfriend and I had dinner at the Oyster loft for my birthday dinner and it was amazing! We started with the octopus as the entree, lots of flavors that went great together!! We also got the special entree of the day it was supposed to be a clam showder but we were expecting something creamy and it was not. A little disappointed on that one but it was good anyway!Next we got the scallops, it was good. BUT the pork chops were AMAZING, you’d be wrong not to get that dish. Matthew recommended this for us and he wasn’t wrong, we got obsessed, the meat was perfectly cook and the bread pudding??? Just amazing!We had a nice table outside, the weather was great and we got to see the end of the sunset from our table! Would go back 100% !

Sunny day youll be able to see the ocean and shallow waves plus there is a beautiful walkway now.The food was great, we have salt restrictions and they complied and gave us French fries and potato waffle fries perfectlyThey have an elaborate Bar, great menu with very reasonable prices and the restaurant is very, very clean.Park up on the main highway and enjoy a leisurely walk and check out the many shows and small businesses as you get close to the pierPismo has lost its small town atmosphere but is still a most enjoyable place to visit. Ive been coming to Pismo Beach for 50 years and still love it

2023-08-20 02:58:15Really great place with good drinks and superb food.The bone marrow was what we came in for but the omakase (short rib) was to die for. Everything was fine dining level but the omakase was definitely tasting menu type stuff.Our server, Shane, also really knew the menu inside out and the manager, Sarah, was absolutely delightful.

Once my glass of wine was brought, the glass was dirty and had to be sent back which took another 15 minutes before a new glass was brought. Food presentation & plating was very good, however entree portions are very small more like an appetizer. Make reservations well in advance. Reserved online & requested window seating, but request wasnt honored. Average service, overpriced, pretty food, one visit is enough.

Dinner was amazing and his suggestions and descriptions of what we were about to eat was spot on and delicious. The duck was amazing and my wife loved her sablefish. We had the beef tataki which was a first and it was all sorts of yum. An the desert was the perfect finish. We will be back for sure.

They bring you regular water or sparkling water in nice wine bottle type bottles to leave at the table. If you’re looking for a fine dining place to take the ol lady, this is it!Now with the food ~ exploding flavors! The charbroiled oysters were phenomenal. The tuna tataki was excellent. The jalapeño emulsion, give me more!! We shared the main course, which was the seabass with mussels. Creamy, buttery flavors made the dish. A MUST try!
