I drove passed this restaurant and never noticed it before. This restaurant is very good. Friendly server. Delicious authentic Thai cuisine. Great prices and fast service. Dine in or take out. Cute little restaurant nice seating and decor. Beautiful art work. Theres a parking lot in the back. Mmm hhmmm delicious food we ordered seafood Tom Kah and seafood yellow curry the fish melted in my mouth, two Thai teas and a mango sticky rice it came to $43. Not bad, It actually deserves more stars its just that it was a little bit cold by the window December in castro valley and the door slammed when customers entered or exited. I think that if they played Thai music and had air conditioning heating it would be at least 5 stars for sure.
Was craving some Pad Thai, and came across this place on my way home. The Pad Thai was amazing! It was creamy, perfectly cooked, and well seasoned! I couldn’t have asked for a better Pad Thai.

Green curry was delicious! the noodles were cooked beautifully, and the Thai tea was amazingly perfect. There was a lunch and dinner menu which I was unaware of until afterwards. The portion size was perfect for one person, and came with a drink.This is a family owned business and the young server who was managing customers did a wonderful job. Definitely coming back.
Good yellow curry with chicken, the soup with clear noodles also excellent, the service with the young lady is very pleasant 👌
Eh, nothing to write home about.Location is small and youll easily pass by it in your car resulting in having to do a U-Turn on a fairly busy street.Taste was good - but 4 people to eat with normal plates cost us about $140Food was okay - I personally got the chicken curry with sticky rice. Delicious - but the other 3 in my party werent that impressed with their assortment of dishes.Service was okay- it got better along our stay. We probably waited 15 minutes in an empty setting for her to take our order.Overall - okay at best experience and bit steep in price for what you get.
Excellent shrimp Pad Thai, excellent Thai Ice Tea, excellent service. I have no idea why this place isnt packed at 12:30 on a Friday.
Ordered takeout: shrimp spring rolls, tom kha, red curry with duck, pineapple fried rice. All delicious. Serving sizes were good and priced well. Will definitely return, although I wish they had online ordering setup.
Extremely good food!! Wife and I loved both the pad thai and pineapple curry with seafood. Customer service was awesome, as soon as I walked in the front door, I was greeted with the most polite man.Also for the amount of food you get, it is worth the price. Definitely our new favorite spot!!

By far, the best Thai food in CV. I had a dinner and ordered the namesake dish (Pad Thai-dinner). I had the prawns. There were about 10 of them in the scrumptious noodles and thats a good helping (even for a dinner). It was a very plentiful serving and was medium heat. Ask for the pepper tray to spice it further (red chillis in a fish sauce were hot and yummy).My only beef was with the hotness of the dish. I asked for it hot and the waitress nodded in agreement. But it wasnt that hot. I needed the pepper tray to spice it up a bit more. I was the only patron in the place and service was spotty. An employee was eating and facing away from me. So, I had to get her attention anytime I wanted my water topped off or anything else (like the bill?). I took a star off because of the lack of service and my wanting my dish hot/taste.Make no mistake, this is a good place. But the service was a bit lacking. Im sure eating a lunch here would be better, since there are more wait staff. The food itself was very good. The place has a homey feel to it (probably a former residence, I believe). Parking is a bit of a challenge but youll figure it out.Edit (2/22/23): ate lunch here today. Food is still very good and very reasonably priced. While most restaurants have increased prices 25%-35%, these folks have raised prices .50-cents on most plates/meals. You still get a small salad with a lunch special too. Their food quantity is still great as well (I barely finished my lunch special plate). I ordered their pad thai/hot and it was delish. It was a bit awkward/communication but I think my waitress was asian (english was probably not her 1st language). One of the very few thai places that still have a pepper-condiment tray. They keep their 4-star rating.
Currently our favorite Thai food spot. Wonderful satay, pad thai noodles, Tom kha soup, and curries. Other family members also love their food. Very nice staff, and service is always good when doing takeout. When they are packed (pre-pandemic since theyre not allowing indoor seating right now) service does slow down a bit. Not a lot of parking; there is a parking lot in the back they share with the vet next door. Currently not a problem with the restaurant only doing takeout right now, but could become a challenge when they open for indoor dining. Definitely recommended!
First time visit with my daughter. Great menu. Delicious eggplant chicken and curry chicken. Going back to eventually try everything on the menu. Easy on your wallet too! Not much difference between lunch special and dinner.
My sister & I highly recommend this family- owned local gem. I love their Thom Kha (coconut soup) with shrimp or tofu. I always request they add extra green veggies (& they gladly accomodate) which after splitting the chicken satay skewers, the cucumber salad & a side of white rice with my sister, we always have enough to take home for a 2nd or 3rd meal. My sister loves their yellow chicken Curry. Adding extra green veggies also extends her dish for at least one more meal. We always add the Thai Ice Tea as a treat. But if youre in the mood for pad thai, trout, catfish or mango shrimp, you also wont be disappointed. Great prices, large portions, kind and supportive service. Eat in or take out. Simple, nutritious meals that are light on the tummy, great tasting & gentle on the budget. Eat in or take out, it just hits the spot.
This place is good and reasonably priced and it’s relatively quiet when dining in so that’s nice. Good service too. Got served food pretty quickly too
The price is cheaper and the portion is good. The waiters are friendly. We have ordered Thai fried rice and Kee Mao, angel wings and some shrimp rolls. The only thing we dont like is they have the same sauce for the angel wings and the rolls and the taste is too sour! Wish they could use different sauce for different dishes.
Sadly, due to a mixup with the very first order I placed, another customer had picked up my food. So, when I arrived to the restaurant to get my food, there was not an order to pickup. 🙃 Upon the discovery of the error that had taken place, I had no choice but to reorder what I wanted to eat, in the first place. My taste buds were not disappointed. Good place to dine
My family LOVES this place and we often get catering for our parties! Everyone loves the bbq chicken, bbq beef, and spicy catfish. Delicious food and friendly staff for a low price keeps us coming back!
I havent tried all the Thai restaurants in Castro Valley, but since the one across the street from Pad Thai raised their prices and made their servings smaller, we tried Pad Thai. Their food is great! I was pleasantly surprised, and the parking is much easier to deal with, so I will be going back. :)
My favorite here is the red curry lunch special. Under 10 dollars for a hearty portion (which the chef is willing to even customize upon request). The fact that you get a free, delicious, Thai iced tea and a polite helping of salad makes this place a very economical place to enjoy Thai food that could easily justify an expenditure of 15 bucks. Highly recommended and family owned.

This place has a pretty good lunch special. Most of the lunch specials are between $6.95 - $8.30, with the seafood dishes being more expensive. When we went, the place was packed with people. It is located right on Castro Valley Blvd. It is next to Boulevard Burger. You can park on the street without any problem. The place looks like u r in someones home. The food is very tasty. However, the service is a bit slow. If they could speed up the service, I would give this place another star.

This is our go to Thai food place. We are here often. We love the peanut sauce and the param tofu and the barbecue beef. Theres always plenty of parking. The lunch specials are the best as you get a salad and a drink and the entree for a good price.
We got there at 8:40 they close at 9:00. The unfriendly waitress told us they were not seating us. There were three other parties. She handed us a takeout menu and then told us to hurry. I will not darken their doorway ever again. I wish I could rate it a zero.
This is literally the only restaurant my wife and I eat at in Castro Valley and weve lived here for 6 years. Its inexpensive, legit Thai food. Weve tried maybe 10 different Thai restaurants all over the bay area and we always think our CV Thai place is better. Dont forget to try a Thai iced coffee.
Rude rude rude. I ordered to go the first time and definitely be my last time. They didnt care about $20 to go customers. I ordered Chai tea to go since I saw a guy ordered that. My cup is much smaller than his.I did not recommend this restaurant! Especially theres another one on Mission, I tried that before its excellent! I regretted I was too lazy to just drive down Castro Valley Blvd. Big mistake.
Theyve really upped their game here. Last two times I are there the food was phenomenal. Especially liked the yellow curry and the fish sweet and sour. Prices are great too.

Cheap prices and actually great tasting food. I recommend going lunch, they have a special and you pretty much get a free thai tea or coffee. Its also a poke stop for those who still play the game lol.
Dinner apparently starts at three, and the curry only comes with rice for lunch. I guess rice is no longer considered a dinner food. I wouldnt be upset if a) she hadnt talked to me like an idiot, or b) every thai place I have been to in my life (Im from San Francisco, if it helps you to realize the severity of this) has included rice with panang curry, or any kind of curry. Every Thai, Japanese, Indian, Chinese place I have ever been to has at LEAST offered rice if not automatically including it with an order. The prices are slightly high, quality is mediocre, and while the people I saw in the store were polite, the lady on the phone was pretty rude. Im kind of regretting a $5 tip on a $20 take out order. Wont be coming back.

Since finding out about this place, I think I go about twice a month. The price is not expensive and the best part is that you can drink milk tea if you order from the menu. Sometimes, if there are a lot of people, the menu comes out late, but they are generally friendly and the food and portions are good.

2023-04-23 20:37:54This is quite honestly the worst Thai restaurant in the Bay we’ve tried so far in terms of quality. The service wasn’t that great but it wasn’t as bad as the food. We ordered the Tom yum soup with tofu, which wasn’t at all fragrant and was severely lacking in flavor. The tofu in the soup was fried (?? not sure why tofu needs to be fried if it’s going into a soup, it would make more sense if the tofu was soft straight out of the cartridge). And the tofu was over fried to the point of tasting bitter and rubbery. Not good. Then the spicy fried rice with chicken came out and it was… soggy! Like laughably soggy. They must have run out of cold rice; nevertheless the quality could be described as something similar to a newbie making fried rice for the first time. The only things that were decent were the shrimp rolls and the Thai tea, but that’s not enough to make this place good. Big X mark for me.

That the restaurant doesnt overdo the seasonings and flavors is a win for me. The folks who work here are really friendly and provide good service.

We liked the pan fried dishes and pad see ew. The fried rice was not bad but the beef is super dried. Deep fried tofu is crispy but doesn’t have too much flavor (pretty bland), but my toddlers loved it! The price is good. Staffs nice are but very under staffed. We just went to the front desk to order on our own.

2022-02-17 05:08:41Their food lacks flavor. I got spicy pork fried rice and Thai beef stir fry. The fried rice was absolutely bland and was nothing near spicy and the stir fry beef had not flavor in the sauce . The beef was chewy and not tender. The usher was not hospitable too.

Got complimentary option of thai milk tea or thai coffee (no dairy free option).The food was delicious and we both had take out with the large portions. Will be back when Im in the area.
