2023-12-09 01:01:18Not sure why this place is rated 3.5/5 on Yelp, both times I passed by they were super busy. Even arriving at an odd time (around 2pm – weekday) to give them a try, the tables were filled. Ok a first timer here, I was a bit overwhelmed – what do I do? Where do I stand? What do I order?Plan ahead and scan the menu before arriving at the restaurant – I know there is this thing with Koreans they ask are you team jjajangmyeon or team Jjamppong? Which is odd because both noodle dishes vary different in style and flavor.jjajangmyeon –Chines-Style Korean noodle dish topped with a thick sauce made of chunjang, diced pork, and vegetables.Jjamppong – a Chinese-style Korean noodle soup with red, spicy seafood- or pork-based broth flavored with gochugaru. If you can’t pronounce the names, then say the number of the dish – pay and they give you a number.I really do enjoy spice and I know I would love them both unfortunately, I have a slight shellfish allergy so I haven’t even tried Jjamppong.Although I did come with my partner and encouraged her to try the soup, she decided on Bokkeummyeon instead. The jjajangmyeon was very good and flavorful, yes as most say the portion is enough for 2. I also tried a bit of the Bokkeummyeon, although good it was a bit too salty for me. Overall, I would highly recommend this spot if you are in the area and want to try something new!

2020-06-16 22:32:29The food here is full of spices and the flavor is immaculate. They give the best service and the plates are huge enough for two people. There menu is a bit limited, but the quality and taste of each one is fabulous! 10/10

2021-10-31 00:40:59Located next to 85 degree bakery in the same plaza as hmart and kang ho dong bbq. Parking is hard to find on the weekend but we came here on a weeknight. You order at the counter and they call your number when your order is ready. I like their jajangmyeong and tangsuyuk. The noodles are cooked perfectly - chewy and not mushy. It goes really well with the black bean sauce - which is savory and not too sweet and overwhelming. Ive gotten jajangmyeon at other places and i could never finish it because the sauce is too sweet but paiks makes it super good. The star is the tangsuyuk - order it with sauce on the side. The pork is juicy and tender but so crispy. We will definitely return!

2021-07-24 19:00:30The shrimp was good, but the other foods lacked some taste because they werent good enough to eat. Also, some foods of the restaurant were too pricey. Although I enjoyed eating the foods, so that was fine for me.

2023-07-20 22:00:40I need to revise my review. This place was great until 2021. I loved their quality of food at a very reasonable price. But not anymore. For some reason, prices are getting higher and higher (now its almost double), but the quality and amount of food is getting less. Ive been waiting for change for a year, but Im done. Now all other places are better than this place.백종원씨 뭐하십니까 해외매장 관리감독 안하고.

2020-03-03 06:51:58Good Korean Chinese comfort food. Clean and self service restaurant. Get in before noon to beat the lunch traffic. Specializing in spicy noodle soup and black bean paste noodles. Quick no frills place - i recommend it for a quick lunch

2017-06-16 05:49:04Here is self service, so you need to order at the counter and when they call your last two digit# on the receipt you need to pick it up from the counter.HongKong BanJum which is famous for JjamBbong in S. Korea was started by JongWon Baek. There are a lot of branches in S.Korea and recently, he has been trying to expand more chains in US.The Broth for JjamBbong made by sea foods and fresh vegitables with hot peppers, so the soup has a hearty and spicy flavor. When you eat JjamBbong, try to eat with TangSuYuk which is sweet and sour pork.It would be perfect matching. There is JjaJangMyun which is black-bean-sauce noodles but it is a little bit sweet. When you want to eat spicy soup or try to relieve a hangover, please try to order JjamBbong.I ve been following hostess of this restaurant, so I know well about thehistory of this branch.I met her first time in food court inFreshia Market at Garden Grove a few years ago, when she opened it.I really loved to eat JjamBbong at that time. However, Freshia Market was bankrupt, so they could not continously dothe business there. After that, she opened new branchat Arirang Market at Fullerton,so I started to visit there to eat JjamBbong. Finally, she opened new branch atVillage Circle on Beach at Buena Parkwhich is nearby my houseand located in independent building.Anyway, I been following her toeat this delicious JjamBbong. Now I can enjoy it without anyconcern of closing.Try to eat JjamBbong which isspicy and delicious. You will love it when you are addictedspicy food.

2019-09-01 02:44:38If you came across this restaurant because of your long wait at other restaurants like Sup or Kang Ho Dang, youd be surprised how good the food is here. We had the spicy seafood stew and egg omelette rice with Chinese style sauce. We also had the pork dumplings. Everything was great and the portions were enormous. There isnt much seating area here so its expected to leave and eat when its busy (its self-order, retrieval and seating). Would recommend increasing the AC since it was warm inside and offering cold water vs room temp water. Other than that, would return again to try their other dishes.

2020-08-26 01:34:58Really nice and clean location. I ordered the Black bean noodles, they were good. They do not sell drinks but they do have a vending machine inside the restaurant, and there is also a 85 bakery next door. (Seated outside by the fireplace)
