This was my first time trying this place with my family and the waitress was polite at first but was offended and rude once we told her how gross the food was and the only good thing was the bread. To be honest this place is over priced and they don’t know how to cook Italian food. The fettuccine was watered down with gross flavor and the Ravioli was store bought and the sauce taste like ketchup.
Four of us went out for dinner here last night. The service was prompt. Their bread is great and addictive. Two had calzones which were generous, tasty and well cooked. One had chicken parmesan which was delicious along with a generous portion of spaghetti. Instead of my usual favorite for Italian Restaurants, eggplant parmesan, I had spinach and cheese ravioli with pesto sauce. It was very good, but only 4 raviolis, see picture. Good thing I could get filled up on the bread.
Incredible food and generous portions, true Italian spirit. It’s a classic “hole in the wall” but the quality is better than Italian chain restaurants. If you want authentic food in an authentic environment, gotta head west for the best.
Everything was great !Amazing food . Well perform and very testy .Only thing that bother me much was the fact that by default they add 20% service ( tax and all rest are separate .I don’t like that i cant take the decision by myself ..
I love the home made bread, hot, fresh, and on the olive-balsamic-herbs matches really good. They take time for your order, but it worths. The lasagna this time was great! They have the cream brûléeee!. In my opinion the service is nice. It is a cozy place, and you don’t suspect a nice place will be there, but it is.
My wife and I had a lovely dinner — the food was excellent, as was the service. Easy parking and access off Hwy 99. Many have complimented the lasagne — and it was very good. We also tried a dish we hadn’t heard of before, and it did not disappoint. It’s a “mom and pop” shop and definitely worth the trip.
Good service, nice staff. Food were surprisingly good. Tried the Gnocchi with parma ham, minestrone, calm chowder. Highly recommend in the area of Modesto.

I love this place but I had called 3/5 to make a reservation the lady on the phone said no reservations just walk in so me and my family did ( keep in mind it was me and my mother’s birthday) when we got there. Some guy (waiter) told me that they wouldn’t be able to see does that they had a 15 reservation and then after that at 12 reservation and that they wouldn’t be able to seat me And my family so we were extremely confused and we told him that we called and his lady said just to walk in and he said sorry I can’t help you and so we left disappointed. So food is great but customer service 3/5

Amazingly fresh food! I got a white sauce pasta with lots of different veggies. It was great! On top of the amazing dish they have HOMEMADE bread that is to die for!! I would go for that alone. I will absolutely be back! Service was great, fast and very friendly.Update: I went back a few weeks later and was treated very well by a different waitress. Food was just as amazing and that bread.......I dont want to live without. :)
The food at this restaurant is delicious! Every plate weve tried has been fabulous. Our favorite is the shrimp scampi sauce. The service is always fast and friendly and its a nice warm atmosphere. Definitely recommend.

Small, quaint place with enormous flavor... We had the vegetable primavera and the gnocchi both were delicious and we will definitely be back. Their bread was right out of the oven. Typical Friday night in and started craving REAL Italian food, googled it and this little gem came up, made my order, fair price, very close to my home, and omg words cannot explain how amazing this food was! 5 stars do no justice! Also the lady that took my order was great too, amazing Palermo! I loved it and will def order again!
We have only tried the lasagna plate but it was great! It didnt look like it was going to gave much flavor the sauce is so smooth! It was really delicious and flavorful. We have only ordered to go. After Covid gets lifted we will try the dining room for date night!
This is my favorite place to get pasta in Modesto. They have so many options, the portions are large, service is fast and friendly, and the restaurant is always clean. The food is amazing. Don’t waste your time at Olive Garden because it’s not even half as good as this place.
We just went to get a take out menu, ended up staying and having best lasagna and homemade bread. Good soft music in background. Our waitress awesome, so helpful. Will definitely go back!

I feel bad that Ive been living down the street from this little Italian restaurant for a few years and never tried it. My first visit was amazing! The food is the best and the prices beat the competition hands down. Delicious bread, pasta, chicken, and friendly staff! Cant wait to go back!

We haven’t been here in awhile, and decided to pay another visit. We were seated by a waitress named Chendre. The restaurant was at max capacity and she was the only one serving, as a cashier, and answering phone orders. We almost left as we felt the service would be delayed given the current circumstances, but we decided to stick around. Chendre was beyond amazing and the restaurant ran better than a lot of other places we been to that were full staffed. She assured all of our needs and others were addressed before we could even think of asking for something. The food was great to top it all off, and came out in a timely fashion. We ordered the Fettuccini Rocka and Tortellini Gamberetto in pink vodka sauce. A great restaurant can have great food, but it’s the service you receive that makes it worth coming back to or not. We’ll be back soon thanks to the great service we received today!

The italian food is mediocre. Its hit and miss is more like it. I dont recommend the crab cakes unless you prefer a lemony wet version or you have never tried crab cakes elsewhere. The raviolis are not that spectacular, so is the lasagna. Hint: order something else.The decor is somewhat outdated.Parking= LOTS of space. My husband and I love this place we are never disappointed we when we come here. The food is always perfect we love the atmosphere so simple and yet romantic and happy. Definitely one of our most favorite places to dine at her Modesto weather it be lunch or dinner!
Quaint little place with perfect pasta. Ive never had a meal here that I didnt love. The service is amazing with staff that remember the names of every family member and what their favorites dishes are. Dont blink or youll miss the restaurant. One of my favorite local treasures.

Tasted some of the pastas at the Ceres street fair and they were pretty good considering they had to keep them warm over stereo cans. As for inside decor it is very warm and romantic like stepping into Italy. The seating outside is so quaint. I cant wait for another chance to go.
I love this resturant. I really do . Every time ive gone its always been great service and delicious food. That being said they do take their time so dont expect food out in 25 minutes because it is just not feasible. I highly recommend trying their minestrone soup and their farfalle salmon those are, in my opinion, the best items on the menu. I have never had a bad meal there, but if you do decide to go dont get the lagasna or the raviolis, they are very simple dishes and dont accurately portray the talent of the chefs who work there.

Ceres location: Worst service ever! Waitress forgot to find answers to questions we had about the menu, and we asked her manytimes, and took forever to bring bread. We waited 1 1/2 to get our food. Her excuse was they messed up in back. Another waiter brought us each a glass of wine on the house which was nice. The food was delicious and portion size more than enough. Will probably give them another try but definitely with a different server.

Very romantic music played over the stereo our entire stay. The atmosphere was very much the same. It felt like a romantic evening. Despite that it was also very casual. Also had a bit of the mobster back alley Italiano restaraunt where you feel like it is almost a front for the mob. Lol jkFood was exceptional. The bread and balsamic vinaigrette and seasoning brought to the table was very delicious.Later we had ordered bruschetta which had tons of diced tomatoes and parmasan cheese which we drizzled the balsamic vinaigrette onto which made them even more delicious.She ended up getting pesto ravioli and I got Pollo Jerusalem. Which was chicken, mashed potatoes, artichoke hearts, garlic, green onions and mushrooms with a white wine cream sauce. Both tasted delicious.They were also very accommodating to saute my mushrooms separately with balsamic vinaigrette. I added a bit more but it really didnt need it, I just really like balsamic vinegar.Service was very prompt and very friendly. We were checked on and also given plenty of time to ourselves so that we could stare and smile at each other, hold hands etc. Food was brought out faster than we were expecting and was very fresh. Surprisingly parking was very plentiful for such a small restaraunt, very nice!Definitely would like to go back again sometime. Not in the best neighborhood though. I would say definitely make sure your vehicle and valuables are kept safe while youre there. Very happy with my visit though.

Been here twice so far and both times the food and service were excellent. I especially like their creamy Alfredo pasta dishes. This place is a diamond in the rough. We will definately be back.

Last week we were visiting CA from Michigan. Our children took us to your Coffee Rd. location for dinner to celebrate my husbands 81st birthday. Everyone loved their meals, including two teenagers. My husband was given a dish of Spumoni Ice Cream and we all shared. Would LOVE to know where the ice cream came from....it was phenomenal!!! Hope someone can tell me. All in all, a GREAT dinner experience!

Olive garden cant hold a candle to this place. Of all the Pasta Pronto locations this one stands above and beyond them all. Anytime were in Modesto we stop here....and we live in the Bay area!!!!!....The neighborhood doesnt reflect the level of awesomeness that comes out of the kitchen so dont let it fool you 😉
Friendly and fast service. Our family ordered cheese ravioli, mazzaluna ravioli, and chicken parmesan, all were delicious! Bread was wonderful also! So glad it lived up to the Google ratings!
6 ravioli and a lot of sauce in a container that it shouldnt be in, sauce was all over the bag and all over the box that it came in. Not to mention it cost $12 for 6 ravioli... $2 per ravioli and a lot of sauce. I wasnt anywhere close to the definition of full, I had to go out and by something else just so I could have a filling meal. Thank you Johnny Carinos located by the mall for giving me a filling meal at a decent price and a nice welcoming environment
This is a great little hole in the wall spot with killer food. Service was good, the only bad thing was their AC was out so it was pretty hot in there. But the food made you forget all about that!
Everyone in Modesto knows about Pastas Pronto. The food is great. Our favorite is the Spinach and Cheese Ravioli and Penne Paisano. Both are made fresh and hot. The restaurant is popular with the lunch crowd. In the evening get takeout and bring home a hot meal to your family. Dont forget the homemade garlic bread!

Thought this would be a great place.. but I was wrong. The food was terrible! The pollo Alfredo sauce was straight of out a low fat shity cheap ranch bottle . The bread was ok. The ravioli was also horrible! Only 4 tiny ones for $13.99 like seriously?! The prices are ridiculously overpriced for the nasty “Italian” food. I will be going to non Italian restaurant (olive garden) after this.
Palermo has the most authentic Italian cuisine in the valley. Always fresh and delicious. The service is outstanding. Palermo is our go to place for friends and family to have a delicious meal.

Fair prices. My favorite dish is Spagtti carbonara. Have visited many times, and each time enjoyed the meal and service. Neighborhood could be considered sketchy by some, carbonara is well worth it.
I came here for lunch and ordered the chicken parm. sandwich. The chicken was a very low quality chicken tender on a bun. The sauce and cheese were just ok. The Cesar salad was also low quality... plain with cheap store bought Cesar dressing. If your looking for Italian food in Modesto, look elsewhere.

It was okay to me. I prefer Strings over this restaurant. I thought it was on the expensive side as it was $44 for two people at lunchtime. Service was awesome though!

2023-09-05 03:38:54The food was excellent. I forgot how big the calzones were and was only able to finish 1/2 of it. The server was nice and remembered a few faces from our large group. Small restaurant in downtown. Never would’ve known it existed had it not been for my sisters. If you ask, they can make a kids size plate of pasta.

The dishes I have tried have both been very delicious. The desserts are also good. I had a creme brulee and it was a good size portion. Nice place to bring your family or a date. The average tab for one person is around 20-30 bucks not including wine.

Offerings include massive dinner plates with mashed potato and fresh vegetables and substantial pasta dishes. Jerusalem chicken is a favoriteof mine, as are the crab cakes in their amazing warm lemon caper sauce. Kudos to the cooks. Palermo feels like a well kept secret, blocks from the downtown Modesto food scene proper. Ive always had the same server and shes friendly and personable, with excellent recommendations. Beer and wine only so have those cocktails before you come.
