Bartenders and staff work VERY hard here. Very, very small inside venue. Beautiful outside arena under the stars!Entertainment is what it is, if it’s your kind of party then you’ll dig it. I’m not there to be “entertained.” i just go to get out of the house hang with a friend and have a drink. Stiff drinks, cold water, good food.👍🏿

Why do I love The Palms Restaurant? Everything about it is aesthetically perfect, from the decor and the location, to the food and the drinks. This is my happy place.The Palms is in Wondervalley and is surrounded by stunning views of the desert landscape. The setting sun behind the red hills makes for a very romantic setting. The food is home cooked and very affordable. The drinks are stiff and cheap. Fridays is open mic night where the most interesting group of locals gather to listen to music and poetry. There is an outside area where events are held on weekends in the fall.

Came here on a night when they had a bunch of different bands. The atmosphere was really relaxed and friendly. The food and drinks are good and inexpensive. I definitely recommend this place even if it is a bit of a drive.

This is my favorite place in all of Joshua Tree and the greater area. Its out in the middle of nowhere with beautiful views unobstructed by buildings. The owners work the bar and the kitchen and are just sweethearts, huge reason that makes this place so great. There is an indoor and outdoor performance area. Seen some great music here. Halloween party was so much fun, then camped in the back back. Free funky pool table. Food and drink is home cooking, super cheap. The ham and cheese sandwich is probably my favorite so far. No beers on tap but a decent selection. Bundaberg ginger beer and Makers Mark yuuuuuuuuummmmmmm. Pic is stage out back at sunset.

I really enjoyed this place for breakfast. The menu is limited, but everything was good. The Bloody Marys really hit the spot and at $3.50, well worth the price. I like the laid back, artistic atmosphere and the waiter/(Owner??) was very low key and helpful. I would definitely go back next time Im in the area.Four of us had a great time there. Would like to check out the music too sometime.

We stopped in for dinner on our way through town and was delighted to have the proprietor service up some delicious food. the chef was vegan so created some awesome tacos for our one vegan guest the rest of us had delicious burgers. We were a little early and missed out on the open mic night. Well have to do that next time. And bring my guitar.

This place probably isnt the best for those with anxiety, and those who use wheelchairs. The restrooms are not handicap accessible, and you may have to share a table with other people. If you are allergic to bees then you may want to avoid sitting outside, because there are a lot of them on the property. The food here wasnt good, and everything tasted like it was made on dirty cookware. The french toast had onions and bell pepper on it, and every water glass had some floaty in it. Many love this place for simply being the only restaurant in Wonder Valley and its music venues.

This place is like being in a road trip movie or one of those desert themed fantasy car commercials.Its an eclectic restaurant/saloon with a little desert hippie thrown in. Its the real deal, not some curated hipster place. The people running the Palms are genuinely friendly and make you feel right at home. None of the scripted We or My pleasure BS you get in the chains. Just real people being hospitable.Heres the kicker: The hamburgers and French fries are among the best Ive ever eaten. The patties are pressed to order and the fries are wedges cut from fresh potatoes and cooked til theyre perfectly golden brown...and the prices are so low youll feel guilty.They have a full bar, a pool table, and live entertainment most weekends. There were four or five guys drinking beer when we arrived who were friendly and having a good time.The Palms Restaurant is motorcycle friendly too.Were going back to try breakfast soon.

Went out there with a friend......its pretty far out there from town in Joshua Tree.....and was very pleasantly surprised. Their french fries are to die for! I think they slice and cook the potatoes fresh and a large basket was only $1.50. The bartender and the patrons were very friendly. The wine was poured from a fresh bottle and poured generously. The burgers, meh. Definitely a go to place when Ive the time for the drive. And The Glass Outhouse isnt far from there.

I loved this place! The food was really good and very reasonably. Dinner for 3 with tip was only $25!When we first arrived it was dark and the place didn’t have much lighting on the outside (maybe because of Joshua tree being a dark park) any way DO NOT! The Palms is a quaint and rustic roadhouse that deserves the drive to enjoy the atmosphere. The music is local with visitors performing and socializing. Outdoor stage also. Come and enjoy the stars and fresh air. The people are friendly and Laura has the best deep fried mushrooms I have ever tasted.

This is a nice little restaurant with a very small town feel to it. The staff is very friendly and their service is great. Have only been here twice so far, and the food was very good both times for an excellent price. I will most definitely be returning, and I recommend if you are in the area.

Love The Palms. Love the owners. James is amazing. The food is yummy, and it has its own music scene. Musicians come from around the world to jam here with The Sibleys. Its a fun, chill place with an inviting, down home, rustic vibe. Always have a great time and did I mention that James is awesome. Hes adorable really!!!!

The first time I stepped into the Palms I knew I was home. The ambiance is unique - warm and dreamy. The food is great - I keep coming back to compare Lauras burger with the one at the world famous Pie n Burger in Pasadena - still too close to call.Yeah, the service is inconsistent, but thats not why you go to the Palms. When we go to the Palms, James brings us our drinks without asking and hands us the pad to write our order on. I take the order to the kitchen and once in awhile I come back with a plate for someone I know at the bar. Its casual, homey, family. If you want great service, go ahead, go to Dennys. Splurge.Need a new vintage shirt or some vintage cowboy boots? A DVD? You can get these all at the bar. If you want a book, wander across the street to Lauras Wonderland Books, come back to the bar to pay for anything you pick up.Sunday morning is the best - bloody Marys, breakfast, neighbors, honky tonk piano. Most of us locals call it church, and if church were this much fun, everyone would go.Dont miss the back yard, sit out there on a mild day, watch the sun move across the face of the Pinto Mountains. Look around. Rub your eyes and ask yourself, Is that really a guillotine?

In the many years Ive lived in the 29 Palms/Wonder Valley area, I have had only very few reasons to visit this place. Frankly, I have never eaten there, yet my best friend goes often. He reports that the steak is very good. Any time Ive had reason to go to the palms, the service was awful, the people were rude and the bar and resteraunt were filthy. Ive had to call there and both times the person who answered was rude and lacking any and all social skills as well as common sense or decency. I do not recommend this place. Frankly, the only thing it has going for it,is the fact that the palms is the closest thing to civilizatiion in Wonder Valley. Yet, i would still rather drive the 17/18 miles into 29 Palms.

If you had to look for this place, you would not find it. An absolute must for all Route 66ers in the middle of Wondervalley. Great bar with nice people, concert evenings and shows. Large outdoor stage, great meetings and good cocktails. A good spot in Joshua Tree.

100% authentic!Dont drive past! Stop and go in!This place is like Hollywood couldnt portray it better in its films.After we had overcome ourselves and followed the Google reviews, we immersed ourselves in a new world.When you enter the “restaurant” “The Palm” through the wooden door, the first thing you notice are the “drinking buddies” at the counter. These can sometimes look at you strangely. Dont bother with it. ;)Ask at the bar where the seat is and ask if you can sit in the back room when you come to eat. Otherwise, you can definitely have one or two interesting conversations at the bar.The burgers and fries are highly recommended and are freshly prepared.The prices are very fair (burger + fries = $6.5)The man behind the counter wasnt the friendliest to us, but he gave it the right flair and was able to smile at the end.If you want to really experience this area, you have to visit this restaurant!
