Today, my friends and I went to try this traditional Chinese restaurant together. We tried spicy and salted chicken wings, cashew chicken, and crispy beef. Its unbelievable, its better than any Chinese restaurant Ive ever had. They even gave us free noodles, and I think Ill definitely come back

Love this place. Long story short, Ive been going to this restaurant for 20 years or more. Theyve changed locations and owners a few times (Which changed some food) but now the place is back to being really delicious again. Crispy Beef is amazing! But I love all their dishes please enjoy!

Went there or Dinner with my son on Thursday night and the food was magnificent and very plentiful. I ordered the Phoenix and Dragon from the Dinner menu. $20.99 and there was far more quality food than I could have consumed (and Im a big eater!). What a deal. Went there again for Lunch with my folks and again the food was spot on. Only $9.99 (Less than a burger and fries) and I enjoyed a peaceful and well prepared meal. Thank you for the service you provide to the community. Additionally, It is nice to see that everyone is not gouging me in this crazy economy. Please dont change.Service????? I think the servers mean well and can be very attentive. However, either due to a lack of some customer service or social skills or due to them not having a strong command of the English language there exists a certain coldness from them. Perhaps the owner or management to address this issue to bring there service to a full 5 stars.

Great food. Have been going here for years. However they now allow a transient to hang out inside the restaurant (second time we have seen her there). We showed up for dinner last night and there she was...two carts of stuff and sitting inside on the seat by the door. We turned around and left. We will not go back unfortunately.

It has CHANGED! We ordered the Po Po Platter and 3 main dishes. All the food was under-seasoned, NO SALT, and little if any garlic. The onions were sliced large while the other veggies were diced small making the onions under cooked and the veggies over cooked. The shrimp, chicken, beef, pork, and ribs were all over cooked and dry. For 4 dishes we were given 2 soy sauce packets and one thumb size sweet and sour sauce container. The spicy Kung Pao had little to no heat. The rice was not tradition rice, it was almost like a minute rice. Lastly, we were given 1 fortune cookie and 2 small cookies that I have no idea what they were. We have been patrons for over 20 years so this change is very disappointing (this was the third takeout order with the same results). This is an EAT IN only restaurant. The staff are helpful and kind. Dipping sauces and condiments are always available on the table. Their traditional food of the past certainly outweighs what is being served now.

This restaruant has an amazing menu to choose from. We ordered shrimp lomein and I believe it was curry shrimp but it was delicious the only concern was how fast the food was cooked because upon eating it, I bit into a cold chicken. Luckily I did not get sick but the food was very delicious over all.

Update 5/31/22Tonight we ordered bbq pork and the walnut shrimp. The bbq pork was terrible it was so dry even when it was covered in all the sauce. We will not order that again. The walnut shrimp wias outstanding as usual, 20 big shrimp perfectly cooked. Still our go to place to order Chinese food.Update4/25/22Ordered the moo goo gai pan and sweet and sour pork lunch specials with no rice thru Grubhub. Moo goo was excellent and the s&s pork was good also The food arrived early as usual and was delivered by the restaurants driver not a Grubhub driver. Highly suggest this restaurant 😃I ordered Walnut Shrimp and Wonton SoupThe Walnut Shrimp and soup was excellent.Definitely found our new Chinese restaurant.Next were going to try the Moo Go Gai Pan, spareribs or sweet and sour porkWeve been trying to find good Chinese food in Clairemont ever since Panda Country on Clmt Mese Blvd closed due to covid. Weve been going there for 30+ years. So today we thought wed try this one in Santee.We got Kung Pao San Yan, not spicy and wonton soup for later. The flavor was pretty good, but way too sweet for Kung Pao. The chicken and shrimp were cooked well, but the beef was tough and chewy, not tender at all. Glad we didnt order Mongolian beef. That would have been a nightmare to try and chew.The wonton soup was excellent and so were the crunchies that go with it.We give it a 8/10 compared to to our original restaurant. Probably try one more time before continuing our search

Panda Country has been a staple in Santee but with the change in ownership, it has lost its charm & we will be finding a new Chinese restaurant.It felt like a cafeteria, between the yelling staffing & having to share a table with another party. I love this restraunt.House special chicken has been my favorite food forever! They have adjusted the recipe twice over the years, but its still excellent.Its always clean, the food comes quickly, the decor is great, and the portions are very large.Its more expensive than most other food but pretty similar price to most Chinese restraunts.This location is better than the one in Clairmont, which uses slightly different recipes.

The food was prepared quickly and was cooked well. We ordered the lemon chicken, almond chicken, garlic shrimp, and general tsos shrimp, and everything was delicious. We also got our drinks refilled promptly, and they even boxed our food up, when we left. The only negative was that the host was a bit standoffish, at first, and wasnt very personable. But after the initial hiccup, service was great. Would definitely recommend to a friend.

Dont typically like to leave bad reviews, however the food I received warranted this. My girlfriend and myself both received incredibly soggy food, and the rice tasted old. The egg flour soup had literal raw egg still inside of it. We ended up throwing away a good amount of the food and went elsewhere to eat. This overall was a really bad experience and they need to get it together.

First time I’ve eaten here in 2.5 years. I know of the new management, but, I didn’t think it would be this bad. Sweet and sour was horrible, the chicken was mush under all the dough. The salt n pepper wings were over cooked and covered in overcooked onions and Chile. It was expensive and I will never go back.

Friendly staff! Family style dinner specials are large portion sizes, more than plenty. Egg drop and hot and sour soup were flavorful and delicious. Egg rolls and wontons were great starters. Garlic pork was spicy...perfect flavor. The sweet and sour chicken was good. The fried rice was not my favorite, would chose steamed rice next time.

Overall, not bad. Its not the best, but its still better than places like Panda Express. I was in the mood for something not as fattening as other fast food joints and didnt want to wait too long. So I had GrubHub take out of this place. Its a bit better than the normal Chinese food of other places. The dishes were not greasy or oily and you get a fair serving size. A good value for the price.

We had food delivered from here a few nights ago and it was delicious so we decided to go into the restaurant and get more food. It was really good. But our youngest has been throwing up since 3am and hasnt been able to sleep well and I have been dealing with stomach pains and nausea since 2am so unfortunately as good as the food may be, we wont be returning here or ordering for delivery from here. Not sure what it was but the sweet and sour pork has given our poor baby food poisoning and possibly me as well.Update:After I myself having to throw up and d several times, we definitely wont come here again. By far our favorite Chinese Restaurant. The food is terrific. The service extraordinary! We have introduced our family and friends and now it is their favorite Chinese too. The House Special Chicken has just the right amount of spiciness. We love all the Egg Foo Yong dishes. I particularly like the sauteed shredded chicken. Then again, we havent had a dish we didnt like. My mom is a vegetarian and loves all their vegetable dishes.

This place has become my familys favorite go-to for a good Christmas dinner. While I typically deplore the idea of making anyone work on such a holiday, I am not going to turn down a family dinner, and this place has earned our business 3 years running. The food is always very, very fresh. The ingredients are all very well picked, fresh, and you can taste the quality as opposed to many others. When going for Chinese lately it seems that Panda Express is about the level of quality you can expect in most places, where you can tell the meat is drowned in sauce to try and cover up the fact it is low quality, but not here. As far as I can tell, all the ingredients are what would be a first round choice, and they dont simply try to hide the flaws the meat or veggies may have by covering them with excessive sauce or a crunchy outer shell.The actual restaurant has downsized a little from the first time we went, which unfortunately without a reservation could mean you will be stuck waiting for another party to finish before you can be seated. But the actual food os worth the wait, and while they dont blatantly rush you through your meal, they will make sure youre satisfied in a timely manner so they may serve other customers. We did not feel rushed, our drinks were kept full, and the food came relatively quickly, which made it easier to eat then go tour the Christmas lights around town. Even with the downsizing, the dining area was not cramped; in fact it seemed like the tables were spread out a little better adding to the comfort for the meal.The menu is very comprehensive, guaranteed to have something for everyone, with pictures and actual brief descriptions so you arent left totally guessing what is what. I chose the Crispy Beef, which is similar albeit much better than Panda Express Beijing Beef. The difference that stood out to me was the fact there were good chunks of beef, and what I assume was a rice wine vinegar in the sauce that gave it an almost pickled taste that really worked well.If you are looking for a quality Chinese place around town, you surely cannot go wrong giving Panda Country a try.

We have enjoyed coming to this restaurant for 40 years. Under new management this is the WORST FOOD we have ever had. My husband got take out tonight, we had to throw out $32.00 of food that was NOT etible. The rice was dry and hard, the House Special Chicken was so tough you couldnt even chew it, my husbands Beef With Oyster Sauce was so bad it was also thrown out. I order the salt and pepper wings they were way too salty and I only got the back part of the wings not even one single chicken drumette, the skin was very burnt, and the meat was dry. The sweet sour sauce was not enough to cover the sweet and sour pork oh and the pork was very chewy. I did not get a fork or chopsticks. I will not be ordering from here again.😠

Best Chinese food. I took my husband here and he loves the orange chicken. We have been to a lot of other places in Las Vegas and Utah and this place is by far the best. All the food is amazing. My favorite is the orange chicken, black pepper beef, and the pork fried rice.

We ordered an appetizer which literally took 45 minutes to come out. We ordered two entrees and one came and the other never came until we had finished our first and just asked for check. Then they said what about other entree and we just had it boxed to go. Service really is bad here. Don’t know why entrees did not come out together. Will not be back.

Amazing service, most bang for your buck! I just have to say we have celebrated New Years eve dinner from here over 15 years.Have never minded spending the extra money because food always so good, except this year. This year very disappointed. Chinese and Mushroom had only regular mushrooms. And Kung Pao made with tiny shrimps and not spicy at all. Orange chicken mostly orange peels.had more orange peels.
