Sorry no photos. The food was excellent and the presentation was neat, professional, and thoughtful. The staff was efficient and very courteous. We enjoyed our meal. The restaurant was surprisingly lightly attended during the lunch period when we were there on a Thursday. I would go here again.

Food was pretty tasteless reminded me of old mall Chinese food. Ordered sweet & sour chicken which had soggy breading and typical red sauce. Kung pao beef has very little beef in it. Chow mein & rice were bland and old tasting. Portions were very small for the price. Would not recommend or return. Plenty of other good places around. Oriental express gives you 3 times the amount and it has flavor.

Yuck! We ordered the family dinner.The fried rice had no flavor.The super greens were under cooked broccoli, beef broccoli was mostly broccoli. $86.00 by the tine it was over.AND they over authorized my card for 20.00.I have no idea why.I doubt Id eat here again.I know I wont refer.

Good food, we got take out. Living near Portland, we have high expectations for Asian food at restaurants. The food was served hot. The vegetables were fresh, and the meat may have been cooked a bit before it was added to our dishes

I am absolutely never disappointed with this restaurant, i’ve been coming here for a few years now and it’s always the place i recommend for people. i always love the texture of the food which is a big things for me and then flavor is always so much, flavor is also a big thing for me. It was OK, just ok. The food was dry and greasy. The crab was the worst, onion taste, no crab or cream cheese. The egg rolls were so greasy I had to hold it with a napkin plus they jipped us 4 rolls. I think the quality of Chinese food is the fried rice, awful. I spent almost $60 and I thru most of it out. Very unhappy

New York is known for its pizza and bagels.. you don’t hear as often but we also have incredible Chinese food. Since moving away I’m always disappointed with Chinese food. This was the first place I have found where we genuinely enjoyed every meal! Felt like home! So excited to have good, consistent Chinese food again. 👌🏼👌🏼

I called last night to place a take out order about 45 mins before closing. We order from this place often. I immediately asked the lady who answered the phone what comes with their short ribs because they do not have descriptions on their take out menus. I often ask about ingredients etc because I have dietary issues and can not eat certain things. Her response was nothing comes with the shorts ribs its only short ribs. I said great and ordered the short ribs and cream cheese wontons. My SO picked up the order as he was already out but before he could get there they called me and asked if we were coming to pick it up. I guess they wanted to close early as it was still 30 mins before their posted closing time. When he gets home I see that the short ribs infact did have cabbage and jalapenos in the box but the meat was tossed in it. I tried to pick a piece out that did not have any jalapeno on it but I could taste the jalapeno so I could not eat it.So because we knew they were closing we decided to wait until today to call them and we were just going to order more food along with their correction(we felt sure they would make this right) and have that for dinner tonight. To our disappointment we were informed that they were not willing to do anything to correcct their misinformation. The lady said the menu says the short ribs are spicy which it does not and I specifically asked what comes with the short ribs and received misinformation. We have never complained with them and as I said we order from them often. It concerns me that knowing that they are not willing to fix their mistake. It shows a complete lack of customer care.

Horrible customer service. Beef broccoli taste like fish. Orange chicken was burnt with little orange flavor. I called to mention it and the little girl on the phone told us that it was impossible to have that flavor because it doesnt contain fish. Wow. 160 dollar order to be called a liar. If the owner wants to save face, they should reply to my review.

Im usually pretty easy to get along with, but this was the worst Chinese food Ive ever had. It was $60 for Beef with Vegetables, 4 Egg Rolls, General Chicken, Pork Fried Rice, and Orange Chicken. And literally there was not one item that tasted good. They didnt taste bad per se, but it was so blah. They do give you a lot of portion, but Id take half the food for 30% more flavor. We literally ate about 10% of it and threw the rest in the garbage. So disappointed. Its pretty sad when you wish you had gone to Panda Express.Ive heard good things about this place and the reviews have been overall pretty good, so Im wondering if there are new owners.

I ordered the General Tsos chicken lunch, which comes with your choice of rice and an egg roll -- I had them make it extra spicy, my boyfriend got the Sesame Chicken dinner, which comes with everything the lunch does, but with an additional side of stir fry noodles. The fry on the chicken for these dishes is nice and crisp, managing to achieve, in my opinion, a perfect medium where theres not a lack of breading, nor is there too much. Portion sizes are great and will leave most feeling full and the sauces arent too garlic heavy. Both lunch and dinner meals also give you a soup as a starter.While I dont find pork egg rolls very often, theirs are absolutely amazing and are the only people in town I order egg rolls from.The crab wontons and paper wrapped chicken are also fantastic. All in all, if youre looking for a Chinese restaurant that stands out among the seemingly dozens of other places, I would undoubtedly recommend Panda South.Lastly, the staff here are always exceedingly respectful and accommodating of customers -- there doesnt seem to be much of a language barrier, which as many know, can be quite common in ethnic restaurants.

Update: Tried this place again just awful. Two meals in the trash. BBQ pork rice? Awful! What is that awful sauce on the vegetables? Meat tough. I dont understand the good reviews here? The food here is pretty good, when they say something is going to be spicy its honestly not going to be, at least it never has been for me. If you eat the red peppers they put in the food itself it will be, but you have to actually eat them. The service is really on point, and the staff are pretty neutral, and not overly friendly, theyre just there to get a job done. Which is nice if you werent looking for small talk.

I got the wor wonton soup with noodles and the cream cheese crab wontons for take out. The food was ready right on time and omg its soooo good. The soup is super flavorful and has a lot in it and is a good amount for the price. Ive always loved the cream cheese crab wontons. Big recommend! The service is excellent as well:)

Not far off I-5 is the Panda South Chinese restaurant and it is exceptional. As I arrived I had second thoughts. Mostly because every seat in the house was empty. However, the waitress was cute as a button and very polite so I thought, what the heck.I was glad I did as the food was incredible, piping hot and there was plenty of it. They made a new combo plate for me, consisting of Beef Broccoli, Chow Mein and steamed rice. I cant remember the time Ive enjoyed Chinese food this much. At $15.90 with a large Coke it was a great deal. The building itself needs some work. Dont let that discourage you and you will enjoy good company and excellent food at Panda South Chinese restaurant.

Born and raised in Redding; my family has been eating at this restaurant for years now. Excellent customer service, a lovely dine-in experience, and exceptional quality food thats well-worth the price. If youre a local and havent tried this place yet, seriously stop reading this, and order some food right now! Theres a reason they have been in business so long, and its super easy to order take-out now, which I very much appreciate in these trying times. Ditch Panda Express and order some Panda South, you will thank me later... I highly recommend the walnut prawns/ chicken as well as all of their appetizers. Specifically, the pork egg rolls and the crab- cheese wontons are NEXT LEVEL!Edit: my car recently needed a jump in front of their restaurant and they insisted on doing it without hesitation. I ordered for delivery and the first time my order was missing 4 main dishes plus a side. When I called to complain I was told they knew what was missing and were sending the remaining part of our order fresh. When the second delivery came we were still missing 2 main dishes and a side. The manager at the restaurant was unwilling to give any sort of partial refund. She said she would give us a credit for next time and blamed it all on the delivery service. I asked her repeatedly “aren’t you responsible for getting the orders ready for the delivery people?” She told me she was done speaking to me at that point. I love their food but the customer service in this encounter was horrific. I’m so disappointed!

I have to say that coming from the northeast, I was hoping to see something similar regarding take out, but I didnt, and I will give this place a solid 5. Zero stars if I could, I just wasted $50 on some hospital Chinese food. I feel sorry for the people who think this food is tasty. Fried shrimp was too greasy and batter was mushy. Combination chow mien had about 2 rubbery shrimps and a bunch of vegetables. Prawns and scallops made my stomach turn so i just threw it in the trash.

My wife loves the number 7, which I also love. I would give it a 4 star rating but the food is a bit pricey and at times salty. Staff is nice but sometimes hard to talk to. I would definitely recommend Panda South to anyone looking for a good Chinese food.

By far the worse chinese food I have ever had. The chow meim was ordered with crispy moodles and the order I received was nothing but soft noodles with a very few pieces of chicken and the only vegetables were a few pieces of cabbage. Ordered rhe Kung Pau item spicy and there was a pepper laid accross the top but the flavor was absolutely not spicy. The shrimp was so heavily covered in battered that was just gooey. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Discovered this place after Yuet Bistro closed down. I wish I had discovered it beforehand, it is GREAT! Chef will make food to order even if it is not in the menu. In my case I was craving Generals Chicken but it wasnt on the menu, they made it anyway and it was superb! Plenty of parking. Subtle interior, but relaxing environment and happy workers make this a go to for any chinese food lover.

As far as Americanized Chinese food goes, Panda South is one of the best Ive had. The Chow Mein is prepared properly. Note: The Chow Mein you get here is more similar to the Lo Mein you get at most American Chinese take out places. The eggplant with garlic sauce was also quite tasty.

Hands down my favorite place to eat in Redding. Pork egg foo young, beef on a stick, kung pao beef, BBQ pork, Wor wonton soup, I just cant get enough of this place :)
