We moved to Antioch earlier this year and we always see the sign for Papa Chen on the building when we enter or exit the freeway on Lone Tree and have just now tried them. Pretty good - much better than I thought! 😁 Oh and they have dimsum too!

I got what I expected….Greasy Chinese food for a decent price. You don’t get any sides with your dish. I paid $15 for orange chicken with no rice or noodles included. Everything extra. I am not a fan

I ordered the Orange Beef. It was suppose to be crispy, but it was very soft with no crisp at all. The pieces were at best 95 percent batter, with very little actual meat. I had to dig through the batter to find any meat at all. I also found the person who was at the register to be very unfriendly. - didnt even say thank you for being a customer. I will not go back

Great little place for chinese food! They always give generous portions, and the lunch combos are so worth the price (I always upgrade to chow mein or fried rice 😋). Never gotten a wrong order or was dissatisfied. Dont listen to all the Karens on here whining about stuff. I dont expect every place to be perfect. Everyone makes mistakes here and there. Would recommend to anyone in the area.

Freshly made chinese food. Prices are good for the size portion. Weve had it a ouple of times and the food is always well cooked and tasty.

Not the most friendly of establishments, I felt like....I wasnt really welcomed, like they were frustrated they had to make food to get my money.But again, its a Chinese restaurant. I shouldnt expect any more, right ?I always see the sign, when I take the lone tree exit, and said Ill try it.Food was ok, I guess, wasnt like bomb Chinese food, my biggest thing about this place was the size of the take out containers, I felt I didnt get real value from the portion sizes. As the containers from other take out establishments are much bigger, especially Chinese take out.Wont be returning....sad. I wanted this place to have more WOW

The food here is pretty good. I usually go there during lunch time and get their lunch specials, that includes a small bowl of salad and soup plus the main entree over rice(or fried rice or noodles extra$). The lunch meals are under $10, for that price, I would eat here rather than at a fast food chain. The portions for the main entree is a good size too.

First time here AND this will be my last time. Ordered “to go”. Food is gross! I ordered deluxe clay pot and the seafood tasted fishy and the barbecue pork tasted old. Very disappointed!

Tiny little hole in the wall with little seating but great food. Weve been twice and both times really good food. Not fo large parties because lack of seating. But we will definitely eat there again.

A lot more on the menu than I thought. Not bad for a small place. Hong Kong fried noodles are good. You have a choice of chicken, beef, pork, seafood combination. Dont judge the book by its cover. Try this place out or not.

Just went to papa chens for the 1st time very nice lady at the at the check out. Great food fresh been looking for a good Chinese place between Brentwood and Oakley where we live and this certainly is An excellent choice just what weve been looking for love. I’m leaning towards not returning until they improve the quality and taste of their Chinese food. Their food is bland and one can tell that they don’t put love in their food. My impression is that they exist primarily to make quick cash. As a Chinese food connoisseur, i have been spoiled by many excellent Chinese food restaurants in San Francisco and surrounding cities. Two stars is for convenient location only.

I ordered beef and broccoli. The beef was soft and had a fishy odor. It had no beef flavor. The veggies (broccoli and carrots) were crisp and edible, however, the sauce was very salty. This was the worst Chinese food I have ever had.

Worst chinese food we ever had. This is my first time ever posting a food review in my life. So wish I would have ordered Panda Express. The schrimp and chicken dishes were all doughy, the rice and chow mein were flavorless, egg foo yung was also flavorless and the fried won tons tasted like they were fried in aged oil...and of course I paid extra to for door dash delivery...lesson learned....never again!!

Eating lunch at Papa Chen’s; order the sweet n sour pork…best I’ve ever had! The hot and sour soup and salad starters were delicious. The chow mein noodles were thick and had a great bite to them, flavor was delicious. Husband had the Wor Won Ton soup and Shanghai dumplings, both were delicious and highly recommended you try them!

I used this website for delivery. They declined my card yet still took the amount out of my account. I called the restaurant and they told me they didn’t receive the order. I contact the company that handles the online order and they told me that my billing address didn’t match, yet when I checked my info all my info was right. The company told me that it should be pending and that I should get my money back in 1 to 2 business days. But if my card was declined how was my money taken out? Someone make since of this. DO NOT USE THIS ONLINE ORDERING SERVICE.

Food is delicious. There is no denying that. However, service is HORRENDOUS. The lady working the front of the store (whom I believe is thee owner) is terribly rude and callous. One would figure that a restaurant would want people to return but her behavior is so atrocious it makes me want to never return. If you go for the food, I suggest takeout as to not deal with her. Such horrible customer service. This was after I received the wrong order. Mistakes happen but how is it the customer fault when the restaurant hands you the wrong to go order? She just get an attitude check.

I dont know whats going on here, maybe different chefs people are getting, this was the best Chinese food Ive ever had, got it on a whim and did no regret it at all. Everything was super flavorful and cooked perfectly. Dont really understand the 1 stars. I even made an alteration to the order and had no issue with the host. Will continue to eat here and adjust the score if things change

Second visit to ensure it wasnt a fluke. This place is the real deal. The food is excellent with some of the best noodles Ive had. The shu Mai was yummy, the hot and sour soup was on point and the service was quick and friendly. We will definitely be back.

Ordered for the first time tonight. The food was delicious. I think weve found our new favorite place for Chinese takeout. We were feeding a family of 6 so we ordered a variety of dishes: hot and sour soup, pot stickers, crab puffs, egg rolls, chowmein, fried rice, orange chicken and szechuan beef. All of them were great. My personal favorite was the hot and sour soup. Will definitely order from again.

Literally the worst Chinese food Ive ever tasted in my life ordered three different types of chicken sweet and sour chicken ginger chicken and orange chicken they all tasted exactly the same no flavor at all the outside was not crispy whatsoever I would never order from this place ever again or recommend it to anyone
