Loved this place. Chicken was juicy and flavorful, unlike those you get at whole foods. You have to select meat and sides and pick your sauce.
Absolutely Killer rotisserie chicken. I had the chicken salad and was quiet possibly the best chicken salad I have had in a long time. Staff are very friendly and they are always quick, even during the lunch rush. Have been back many times and will continue to come back.

Really good. Surprising location for the quality of food. Its really good, especially for the price. We got da porchetta and lomo papaito including the asparagus, potatoes, mushrooms —which all were stellar! The one dish that no one liked was the brussel sprouts, which tasted off... Apparently the brussel sprouts are marinated in vinegar.The seating is not comfortable, however stylish and the place is clean. A TV is always on...
Lets start off by giving Papaito Rotisserie, the rotisserie chicken was very tasty and they stuffed the chicken with different vegetables, the chicken salad, corn salad, and potatoes with a glass of Tea topped it off! I will return to enjoy more food off the menu!!
Wow! What an unexpected surprise! It’s out of the way, but worth the drive! We had the porcetta, chicken, plantain chips, butternut squash, and mushrooms. Everything was cooked perfectly and the flavors were clean and fresh! I will come back here anytime I’m in the area. I wish we had a Papaito in the South Bay!
Pork Belly (Da Porchetta) and Beef Rib are definitely my top two loves here. Roasted with love and care, making me drool every time I see it. These two dishes don’t come with veggie sides and you will need to order them separately.Food got served pretty fast and staff are friendly and helpful.San Leandro starts to attract more and more good restaurants while still being affordable in Bay Area.

Oh my. Our first visit. Roasted chicken half with roasted purple cabbage slaw, roasted Brussels Sprouts, roasted potatoes and a delicious garlic sauce/dressing. Absolutely delicious chicken, tender breast meat, same with the leg and thigh. With the garlic sauce even better. Potatoes were especially good. Nice herb flavor, and hot. We had the pudding for dessert. Yum. Very friendly staff in an out of the way place that serves the local industrial businesses. Just off of 92. We were there for dinner on Sunday, and it was not crowded. We shall most definitely return.
I should have not persisted and walked. I was excited to try this place. I entered and my greeting was a scowl with a look of disdain. There was one other customer, seated. I scanned the menu and it was not self explanatory. My first question was quickly given a terse response before I finished asking. It was odd, I represented fifty percent of sales at that moment and I was the uninvited guest. I ordered the porcheta and was quickly asked: which sauce, eat in or to go, and is that all? It was one question requiring three conversations. Which sauces are available, I asked. She pointed to the counter display. Ok, lets get this meal paid.The total was fifteen and change before a three dollar tip. She walked away and I sat. I heard her cut something a few times, do some other things, go to the bathroom, and my order was ready. Looking in the paper bag I felt dumbfounded. Nearly twenty bucks is equivalent to a pint sized box and an ounce of sauce.I returned to work with my piece of pork belly in a bag and hoped it had transmogrified into a meal. No such alchemy. The sauce was ok and the pork was ok. Neither were great. I wouldnt recommend this place.
Overall disappointing! The food and service. The Rib was seriously undercooked and tough. This wasn’t just cooked medium they we quite raw and difficult to even cut(even with a real knife. The Chicken was well cooked and flavorful though. The asparagus, Brussel sprouts, and potatoes were all under cooked and not well seasoned. My kids liked the brown rice but I found it kind of Mehhhh. We all found the chocolate ricotta pudding not very tasty either. But it was also our first time trying this so it may be good for someone who is familiar with that dessert. There were 2 things we all unanimously agreed we loved. The cheesy corn dip even though we had trouble splitting the 5 plantain chips they gave us between 3 people and the Porchetta. Those were the only redeeming factors that got them the 2 stars. I decided to give this a try after seeing a thread where several people recommended it. My daughter was being released form the ER we had been there all day and were hungry and tired. I ordered ahead online. It quoted a 30-45 minute wait for pick up. I got the confirmation at 5:14pm. We went and picked up her prescription and headed that way during rush hour from San Leandro. When we were almost there at about 6pm I got a text saying my order was just now confirmed and it would be ready at 6:21pm. We were goi to be a little early so we waited in the car. When we finally went in we were told it would be another 10 minutes that ended up turning into much longer we didn’t get the food until about 7pm more then twice the time quoted. On the way my kids urged to me just cancel and get something closer because they were hungry. I assured them I had ordered far enough in advance it would be ready so we won’t have to wait like we would starting an order somewhere else. Boy was I wrong! They were friendly and apologetic of the wait. I didn’t complain at all even though I was quite tired and frustrated that I had no idea there was a delay until I was basically there and even then it was much greater than even the text said. Things happen and I try to be understanding. I paid over $100 for this meal and it is extremely disappointing to have dealt with such a wait and still gotten undercooked food. If I would have stopped somewhere on the way I would have spent far less money, probably gotten something familiar we knew would be good, and been home almost an hour earlier from an already hectic day.

So, SO GOOD❣❣❣ They had me at Crispy pork skin... & the rest was gravy, as the saying goes! LOL! I couldnt believe how HUGE the portions were and reasonably priced for what you get. GOOD VALUE for your hard earned dollar!! We saw some other items ordered by fellow diners and those were equally huge. But the FLAVORS...OMG!! SO. GOOD!!! The sauces complimented our food perfectly! The staff was friendly, helpful, and the service quick, serving our food fast AND packing up all our leftovers for us! Yes, we HAD leftovers!! Yum, yum!! We stayed in the place talking for HOURS, & they never once made us feel rushed or as though we were taking a table away. They even checked on us! This place is near my work; Ill for sure return! Very cute decor! Enjoyed the experience. Didn’t dine it, but waited for our takeout. Really liked the chairs, tables, and feel in general. Wait took awhile, so we were offered a complimentary coffee flan, which was yummy. Didn’t taste like most flan - a bit thicker and of course the coffee flavor was unique.As far as the food: the chicken was okay. The mushrooms were amazing. The corn salad and potatoes were good. Overall, it’s a refreshing change in Hayward. A bit overpriced, but worth a try!
Ate outside on the patio with a bunch of friends.The food was excellent. Served in to go boxes, but also a plate for eating there. Real silverware would have been nice, but I guess theres theft concerns.I had the porquetta, with smoky corn and mushrooms. I would highly recommend all three.

The food was extremely delicious. I got the chicken with a side of potatoes and the kale/quinoa salad plus a ginger ale. Total plus tip came out to $31.. A bit pricey for lunch, but the food was delicious and everything was very high quality. All the sauces were made in house and they were crazy good.

Thank you other reviewers. Without these reviews, I would have never known Papaito existed. That would have been a tragedy. Everything here was absolutely perfect. Excellent customer service, unique and interesting menu, fair prices, and most importantly delicious food. I had the herb roasted chicken. My uncle had the porchetta. Then we split the carrots and mushrooms. Everything was so delicious and had so much flavor. I really couldn’t tell which dish I liked the most. They were all so good. This was the best meal I’ve had in a long time. Thank you so much to the owner and staff!!! I can’t wait to come back.

OK - this is a hole-in-the-wall place which it would be easy to miss. In a small shopping strip mall in a not obvious or high-traffic location you have to know it is there. But My Goodness - it is worth seeking out and finding. The food is amazing - the menu roasted meats cooked Mexican style - not spicy but with a variety of sauces from sweet to hot available on the side. Do not miss it - a jump over for lunch is amazing. Try the ribs (they are my favorite) and the Purple Cole Slaw. The Basil Lemonade is a must also. The staff is terrific - the cooking right in front of you - and it is a wonderful experience. go, order everything, take leftovers home. You will be glad you did.

Nice surprise in an industrial area of Hayward. We ordered 3 sides to share, large enough that we took home leftovers. The smoky corn was the best. And a glorious coffee flan. Friendly staff. The free jug of water was full of fruit. Natural themed interior, one wall of cut logs was beautiful. Everything was super clean. Many happy co-customers.
Just horrible! Got the rib and brussel sprouts. Person there seemed annoyed to take my order. I was the only one there and wasnt helpful when I asked details. Rib was raw undercooked bloody and their plastic utensils made it difficult to eat. I left frustrated and hungry. Very disappointing. I would avoid.
Love, love, LOVE this place. The food is excellent. No matter if you pick the chicken or the porchetta (best thing there!) or the beef rib, it is awesome. Amazing sides. Skin was a little firm, but the fact that they gave me plastic forks and spoons didnt help.It seems covid hit this place hard, since the food is markedly better than its dining setting and ambience, which feels like a badly managed chipotle.Outdoor tent had a dirty tables, and had flies.Tried going inside to find the same thing, dirty tables and flies.Just needs a bit of touch up for the dine in experience to emphasize the great food.4/5 until then.

Delicious! Had a hard time finding it because Google maps didnt work right. Google kept saying I had arrived when I was on the highway 92. You can see it from the highway but obviously you cant stop and eat. If you experience the same, dont give up this place is worth it. Tip: After i chose Avoid highways on my GPS i at least got close enough to where i could find it on my own. I got the DaPorchetta and it was tender and delicious. Very simple menu and not fancy decor at all but the food is great.

Edit: Just went back today and it is even BETTER THAN I REMEMBER. Wow. How have I wasted all my dollars at other restaurants when this is only 7 min away from where I live? This place could have a michelin star rating, no joke. It is absolutely phenomenal. It may be in a less trafficked area of Hayward, but what a GEM. They have beer and wine that pairs perfectly. Their rotisserie chicken is sooo tender and their sauces are exploding with flavor, I would buy a bottle of every sauce if I could. Try the plantain chips with the cheesy corn dip. Try the Brussels. Try the mushrooms. You cant go wrong here. Great date night place!This place is a hidden gem in Hayward! Their food is such high quality for great prices. Weve tried all the meat entrees and most of the sides and every single dish is excellent. I cant even choose a favorite dish. They have a great selection of unique sauces, my favorite is the chipotle sauce. They have a nice vibe and a well designed interior. The people are lovely there, and I highly recommend. Next time we want to bring a big group so we can order everything and share so we dont have to choose just one dish! Its a little off the beaten path, but worth the visit. I could eat here every week.
Half roasted chicken was good. Brussel sprouts were good. The man seemed a little angry with the female - and it made me feel uncomfortable - almost kind of witnessing abusive behavior - but who knows what it was - all I know is it made me feel uncomfortable as a customer. If you have a problem with other employees or even your spouse, I would suggest that you keep it private. No one wants to see a manager or employee appearing to be mean or abusive to other employees.
One of our favorite hidden gems in Hayward. This is a family style restaurant. You can order sides to share. We find the small sides are enough for 2. The chicken is definitely the highlight. We order a whole and its enough for 2 people. Very flavorful and moist. Their Porchetta is also amazing. Its melt in your mouth. Very rich. I think this is more for 2 people, as well, since I couldnt finish it myself, but for others it could work for 1 person. Our favorite side so far has been the carrots. They are just a little bit spicey, but not too much for people who are more sensitive to it. They also have bomb potatoes. If youre still hungry after all that, they also have desserts. So far, weve only had the flan, but it is amazing! Highly reccomend this place.
The place is cozy and the people are really nice and warm. Just be mindful that the place can be a bit packed during weekdays.For pork lovers, I suggest that you go for the porchetta. It goes well with the potatoes and the papaito plantain chips. Actually, the chicken and the beef dishes are good too (based from my previous visits) but I find myself drawn to their crunchy and juicy pork more. Everything is really well seasoned and hearty. Best to top the meal with iced tea or their sugar cane cola.Love this place a lot. 😍😍😍
Nice spot for lunch around work. Lots of options and great vegetarian/vegan sides. The kale salad and brussel sprouts are delicious and make a healthy and filling lunch. Their green tea is also nice and refreshing.
The chicken was delicious. I confess, its just a wee bit too spicy for me. But, it was very moist and tasty! I definitely would recommend it.
The food here is fantastic! I ordered the porchetta with a side of brussel sprouts. Though the brussel sprouts werent great, that porchetta was life changing. It was really fatty and tender with a super crispy skin. It goes great with the chipotle sauce! My girlfriend and I liked it so much that we had to get a second one to go! Will definitely be back as this is now one of our favorite bbq joints in the bay.
Amazingly delicious! We had a late lunch and tried the lomo papaíto, very tasty but a bit over cooked. Also had da porchetta, OMG this is my favorite dish. Tasty crispy pork skin on the outside and juicy tender meat on the inside. The chicken salad was a good portion and well presented, nice fresh greens and also very tasty . We tried their brussel sprouts and if I could have fit anymore food in my tummy I would have kept on ordering. My first time here and I will be back. Just beware of the driving directions. Theyre a bit off on g maps.
Decided to check out this little random gem in Hayward and found out that this PLACE WAS AMAZING! this little spot has one of the best Porchetta I ever had. Moist pork with a fine crispy outside was to die for. We also had the herb chicken, that was just falling off the bone with flavors. They have an assortments of sauces to try with the food (which i like) and the plantain chips with the yogurt sauce is a must get.The place is tiny but very casual and the services was great. A shout out to Joseph, thanks for the coffee bean flan samples!!!

Less than a week, Im back here for the yummy food. Everything is so delicious here, especially the DaPorchetta. Its supper moist in the inside and crispy on the outside, just perfect! All the other dishes are good too, but my favorite is the DaPorchetta! The staff are very helpful and friendly.
Undiscovered gem! Papaito looks likes it’s fresh out of Noe Valley or Hayes Valley in San Francisco. Cute decor, great music, and plenty of parking.Now in to the food. OMG... honestly the best porchetta I’ve ever had. Huge portion, thick cut, very crispy skin, and tender meat. Comes with a lime wedge. I also had the corn salad which had corn that was freshly cut from the cob. All the food is plated as if you were in a restaurant and well seasoned.Service was great and friendly. You can taste test your choice of sauce.I highly recommend Papaito!

I arrived at closing and the staff agreed to stay open and cook me dinner. The food was a refreshing mix of south american seasonings, freshly made and really tasty.
Their crispy skin pork (Da’ Porchetta) is quite an experience! The skin might be a little stubborn for the plastic knife, but in the end you’ll forgive it for the rest.
We had the herb chicken, slaw and Brussels sprouts. We had the Chimichurri and Chipotle sauce. Not sauces were very good. We liked the sprouts better then the slaw. The chicken was outstanding,We will be back again.
I had not been here before, but was extremely happy with the Lomo Papaito I had. I am a truck driver, and the place I was supposed to deliver was already closed when I got there. It was a little more than a half mile walk for me top get here, and it was well worth the walk. You can sample their sauces, before you decide which sauce you want. All are delicious, but I think the Sauce Piquante is the best, as I am a green chille fan.
I thought the ribs were supposed to be 2 pieces but we only got one. When I asked why there is only 1 rib, the guy said its because my rib was big. Sorry but I wouldnt pay $11 for one rib. Chicken was good...sauces we just ok. The brussels sprouts needed to be cooked a little longer. I also ordered a large potatoes which were tasty but came out the same size as the small sides.

Sofa king good! No one knows about this spot because its located in the cuts but damn what a gem. If more people knew about this spot, this joint would be packed all day, erryday. Appetizers are all good and the porcetta, rotisserie chicken, and GINORMOUS rib are all on point.
The food is so delicious and full of flavors. Very original recipes, like the minty cucumber ice pops. The ribs are huge, good for two meals.

Good food although a bit pricey for lunch in Hayward. Perfect for a business lunch, bit maybe not for everyday eating. But the food quality, taste, and creativity is excellent.

For the area...nothing compares to Papaito. Everything hand made right in the open kitchen concept. Very busy at lunch and I can see why. Wouldnt be surprised to see Guy Fieris Camaro roll up one day

I have ordered the roasted chicken, no bun burger for my son and pork belly with mushroom, asparagus on the side and roasted cauliflower and scallop ceviche with dragon fruits.Roasted chicken is super delicious - meat is falling off from its bone, I only eat chicken breast and to my surprise, it has well-balanced flavor and moist.

The food was nice hot and fresh when it was delivered to my table not only did this person delivering your food asked if there was anything extra that I needed few minutes going by another person asked how everything was going and if I needed anything extra like even water. The food was very tasty it had a lot of flavor and the chicken was cooked just right and was not dry at any place at all the sides, you cannot go wrong with any side you choose we had the rice, the mushrooms, and the brussel sprouts. They give the sides in a big bowl Im glad we chose the regular size and not the large.The facility itself is clean and organized with plenty of seats and not just being crammed in one specific place. The restroom is nice and clean well I had an awesome experience and I cant wait to come back.

2018-07-03 17:46:42Let me start by saying that Papaito Rotisserie is a nice little unassuming gem in Hayward, CA. Their menu is quite small, but I think that this allows them to focus on their strengths. I have tried almost all their food, and I have brought so many friends, coworkers, and family members here. All of them enjoyed the food, and they keep coming back even without me. Their meats are seasoned well and the side dishes are quite unique and tasty! My favorite sides are the creamy mushrooms and the butternut squash with goat cheese. Also make sure to get the chimichurri sauce to pair with your meats. For dessert, I highly recommend getting the coffee flan.

2019-09-05 04:28:32Had a great lunch. Was very pricey but what wonderful flavors. $48.00 for two of us. I had the unique pork dish, which very large. Loved their ala carte side of roasted corn salad. Yum. Had a side of brown rice was just okay. but enough for two. My buddy had a flavorful unique steak stew concoction that he had ordered before. He enjoyed this so much it was the only thing he wanted. They have another unique green tea that at first taste did not appeal, but after some pico heat it went down with the second and third taste that it grew to be a very refreshing choice. The more of this heat from their other green sauce from the pork offering that wants me to return quickly. The people were great. The atmosphere is almost Industrial and the metal chairs and tight spaces were the only reason for not 5 stars.

2018-08-18 21:14:32You order and pay for food before you sit down. You can sample the four different sauces before purchasing which is nice. I would recommend the mushrooms and the porchetta and the basil Lemonade were all excellent. Clean, trendy, small and free infused cucumber lime mint water self serve. When we were done the waitress brought over complimentary coffee flan which was very nice and such a good business move. It was a little pricey but worth it. In a business warehouse location I thought I had the wrong address but its totally hidden.

2021-11-23 07:19:11What a gem of a spot in the middle of industrial and office parks! Da Porchetta is out of this world good, and I absolutely love their amazing sides. Maybe a little too much butter on the smoky corn salad, but mostly fantastic flavor. Great grilled coleslaw, too, with plenty of char. Coffee flan is solid. Cant wait to try more!

They have a small menu, which is a good thing in my book... and everything appears to be high quality and delicious, I want to go back and try them all. One other thing I noticed that the sauses appear to be made on site, again, delicious... I Highly recommend!
