This was an amazing sandwich! The bread was flakey and soft. The sauces though, those were the best. The habanero was one of those heats that builds. I got the pastrami cause the reviews said it was the best and they were not wrong. My friend raved over the meatball. Really wish I lived closer to here so I could try them all.

11/10 highly recommended. One of the best pastrami sandwiches I’ve had. The pork sandwiches are perfection — tender flavorful meat, fresh bread and a combo of spreads and veggies which I’d never think to put together, but it all just sings.

If you think you have a #1 pastrami sandwich (and it’s not here) then you need to visit Papas best!! I promise they will replace your favorite pastrami sandwich or at least fall in the top 2. Ive had thousands of pastrami sandwiches from all over Southern California and the central coast and papas best is #1. The people working there are so friendly too. You can tell they love what they do.Do yourself a favor and grab lunch here if you are anywhere near the area. No joke sometimes I’m 20-30 mins away and I drive out of my way to go there!You will not be disappointed.

Got the capricola pastrami sandwich and it was bomb! I was a bit sad the bread was burnt in a few spots but I just used my fork to scrape it off and it was fine.The lentil soup was just okay. There weren’t enough lentils in mine, and it was pretty dang oily!

Our Buddy Vinnie from Swipeport brought over about 5 Capicola Pastrami sandwhiches and WOW!!! that is one KILLER sando! Id have to drive to Hungry Bear in Vista, CA for a good tasting Prastrami or Italian. I will most def be stopping by for that Via Verde Soon! Good Job Staff!

I found this place on Google maps...what a find. Killer turkey, bacon avo..garlic aioli. The bread! Some of best Ive had. I travel for my job so I eat at many sandwich shops. Great service, food quick to the table. Definitely going back when Im in the area. Good job Papas!! Had another road trip...Went back and got roast beef with jalapeño aioli...wow ...cant wait to go back and try something new...was real BZ today. Best Sandwich ever!! I ordered a turkey sandwich which is very average, NOT!!! This was over top! The bread. . . Fresh!! Ingredients . . . Tasty and on point. The service was excellent.My husband ordered an Italian Sandwich and it was perfection!! The meats and cheese were a great great blend. The dressing was excellent. Well definitely be back. Wow! Being British the hunt for a semi decent sandwich can be tricky sometimes. Either drowned in fat or as dry as Ghandi’s flip flop.FINALLY after years of dry mouth and clogged arteries, Papa comes out of nowhere and takes the crown for the best sandwiches in California. The pulled pork is sensational. Chicken salad is refreshing and uplifting.It’s a thumbs up from me guys!!

So this place used to be good and my co workers and I would come alot.. UNTIL.. a couple of times our order was wrong but we didnt say anything but the next time I ordered a tuna sandwich with just avocado and tuna and my soup was a large soup and I got a small. So this time I called and the man who I spoke with said a said a tuna special but I know for sure I NEVER order a tuna with everything. And he seemed upset. He said to come and get the new order with a large soup because . I was charged that! I never went back. And neither did my friends or family. They also took out the sitting area inside and you have to eat outside even if its cold. No thanks

Capiocola pastrami with lentil soup. Delicious! Sandwich bread is great. Lots of veggies that complimented the pastrami well. Soup is very flavorful!Came on a Sunday afternoon so they werent swamped. Staff was very kind. Id never heard of this place before, stopped by on a whim after shopping at big 5 across the street. Very happy to have found a nice spot!

I hate to give reviews. Because it’s from my point of view and my experience.So, here it goes. It would be nice if the customer service could be a bit kinder and welcoming. This was the reason I gave them one star.As I walk in, the vibe of the place feels negative. The wait time is roughly 20-30min. They can get busy. Which is why I feel the “hold on” sassy vibes from the employees. Everyone looks like they’re in the weeds. (Which I can understand. As I patiently wait.)But when asked, roughly how long a sandwich will take. They will give rude remarks. And it was every time I’ve gone. Which has been 5 times. This is just my experience. And now I refuse to go back. I don’t think it’s worth the wait and rudeness.However, the sandwiches are good. And my son enjoys eating them. The portions are just little.

Wow i stumbled upon this place yesterday and i cant stop thinking about their sandwiches! The food here is absolutely amazing! I tried the pastrami and my wife had the chicken salad sandwich and we ended up sharing half and half. The pastrami was the best pastrami weve ever had! So flavorful and not too greasy. The chicken salad sandwich was so fresh and refreshing i cant wait to go back.Great prices fresh and flavorful food. The only downside is they close very early.Anyone who would pick another sandwich chain over Papas Best doesnt deserve to eat here.

I visited this place for the first time today and really enjoyed the sandwich I got. I ordered the Italiano, which had various Italian meats and veggies. It also had some nice dressing or oil on it that kept it very moist. It wasnt dripping or messy, but just enough to make everything easy to chew, go down smoothly, and have a nice flavor. Much better than a Subway Italian BMT!

I really love their sandwiches! My favorite is the pulled pork but the hot pastrami is also bomb!! The place is pretty small and usually packed during lunch hours but you can order ahead and pick up which is what I do at least once a week as I work down the street.The service is always friendly and I love how they remember me and my order whenever I call in. I love supporting small businesses and I will continue to be a customer here as long as Im close by.

My favorite part of my sandwich was the bread. They have fantastic rolls, the rest is great, but the bread really makes the sandwiches shine. Bathroom is fine, plenty of parking, very close to the freeway. Service was fine, got my sandwich promptly after ordering. The only thing I would keep in mind is that this location isnt open late. Online the posted time said closed at 5 pm, but the sign on the door said closed at 7pm, since it was early I came to finally try the place out. Had I known they were open later than 5 I would have been here a few years ago. Seating was fine, tables, no booths, probably enough room for 20 people, would be hard for a large group to sit together. Dont know if this place caters, if they do would imagine their food would be thoroughly enjoyed. Wife had BLT, really liked it, I had Italian and it was exactly what I had hoped for.

Chipotle chicken sandwich no cucumber add olive.. bread looked soggy unwrapping in parking lot, too moist. I can see the chicken was very full pieces and not sliced. Not sure why the sandwich had iceberg and spinach.The ingredients were good, just not this wet mess combo. If I try again Ill go for a dryer sandwich

The pulled pork sandwich has tender and very flavourful meat with a nice combination of slaw, cilantro and cheese. The made from scratch soup is delicious. It was ok. Im not into the whole gourmet thing, so when extra, unmentioned things arrived in my pizza sandwich after explicitly asking what was on the sandwich, I was disappointed. The staff was nice enough, but it was definitely hard to hear them, and the area for eating was very cramped. My friends enjoyed their food more than I did, but Ill probably not be returning.

Today I went in for the first time to get,a sandwich. The place,was recommended by a coworker; I waited a good 25 min for my sandwich; outside. When growing up, most of us had that one neighbor whose kitchen had the most hypnotic scents wafting from the windows. This describes my experience each time I open the door at Papas Best Sandwiches and More.My very first visit, I naturally ordered a sandwich, Hot Capicola Pastrami with house spread, and added a cup of soup to go with it. High quality ingredients went into that sandwich and I knew that I would have to come back again and again to try the other options. Then I tasted the soup and it has become an obsession!There are usually a couple of different selections of soup each day but heres a valuable tip: dont wait until after lunch to stroll in for soup because you will likely leave empty handed. This is especially the rule for Friday when all of the regulars know that it is Tomato Soup day. I never in my life thought that I would be raving about, of all things - tomato soup. It really is that good. It is broth-based, as are all of their soups, but is unlike any tomato soup. This is a spicy and extremely flavorful soup; whenever possible, I try to bring home several large cups of it to have in my fridge at my behest.Another favorite is their spicy chorizo and potato soup. A very multi-layered flavor profile and also worthy of having several in the fridge for a soup fix. One really wont be disappointed by any of their soups but the tomato and the spicy chorizo are absolutely top notch.My personal favorite sandwich is still the first sandwich, the Hot Capicola, but highly recommend their signature pulled pork sandwich. This is the home cooking everyone yearns for because this is a small family business built on Papas passion and that is evident in all of the items he prepares.
