Papaya Thai Restaurant in Newark

Absolutely my favorite Thai food restaurant! Never had a dish we didnt like. Must haves are the Basil fried Rice, Basil Eggplant, Tom Yum Soup, Pad Thai and of course Mango Sticky Rice for dessert! They are very accommodating when it comes to your level of spicy tolerance. You can always go no spice and add chili sauce at the table.I will say this spot is popular and can get extremely busy, so if you plan to go for dinner or on the weekend. Plan to take your time and not be in a rush. They get a lot of to go orders while serving in-house guests so it can take time to get all your food. However, its always worth the wait. Super friendly owners, fresh, quality ingredients and extensive options on the menu!

Good food! Great taste.But worst experience with online order. Placed an online order for pickup. After reaching the restaurant the guy took the printout and gave to chef for preparation, we thought it’s just for us. But it’s not real case. People who placed online order and came for pickup had same experience while talking with them.If you’re placing online order be mindful!

Its weird that the papaya salad doesnt have shrimp or crab ... Decor is nice and unique though and staff is friendly.

Loved the vegetarian options and there are plenty of them. I tried the roti with curry, red curry with tofu and pad Kee mao. They were all great! The portions are pretty good and these were more than sufficient for two. Roti was crispy, red curry and the noodles were very flavourful with a good amount of veggies.

I ordered it to go, spent $50, chose mild (the least spicy option), and one bite and my mouth is on fire. I tried to power through, but its so hot I cant even eat it, and its not just me I asked three other people to try it as well. It looks like it would be amazing so Im really bummed. Of course I was the last customer of the night so I couldnt bring it back and have them remake it. If they do fix it, Ill edit this review accordingly. Fingers crossed.

I came with my family for dinner and we had a wonderful time. The vibe was great and food was delicious. We will definitely be coming back and recommend for anyone looking to try!

Very nice place for good Thai food.Ambiance is good with few decors, especially a lady figure at the entrance in traditional wear, dim lighting and laps for each table. Place looked clean.We have a pleasant evening at this palace with tasty food for dinner.They welcomed us with smile, served and send-off with a smile.

~$161, tax and tip included for 6 adults and 1 kid, very reasonably priced. Simple and delicious. Love the beef noddle soup and black pepper garlic seafood.

Ordered delivery for dinner and their Prawns Pad Thai were generously packed with plenty of plump prawns. Crispy calamari had a chilli mix seasoning sprinkled on top of the crispy batter, goes well with the sauce. All appetizer boxes had thoughtful vents for items to stay crispy.

If you love Thai cuisine! This is the place to go!Though it’s a small restaurant but it serves amazingly tasty food.
