Everything about my recent stay was fabulous from start to finish. The staff at Park James Menlo Park were fantastic, friendly, and always went out of their way to make sure our stay was perfect. The room and bath were beautiful, bedding was perfection, bath amenities including robes, and full sized toiletries were the perfect extra touch. One of my favorite amenities was the kettle and freshly-ground coffee that was provided in the room. Its a wonderful boutique hotel and my only wish was that we could have stayed longer!
I absolutely loved every minute of my stay at Park James. The hotel itself is stunning - it has a cool and modern vibe thats approachable and comfortable at the same time, and the attention to detail is impeccable. The service is absolutely unmatched as well. Lyle, the general manager was super on top of things and went out of his way to ensure that everything was perfect.I also highly recommend eating at their restaurant, Oak + Violet. The food and the service there were incredible, and you cant beat the convenience of simply going downstairs for dinner! Location wise, its super walkable to lots of cute shopping and dining. Also love that they are pet friendly!! Cant say enough great things about this place.

Mo and T went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and really made my trip in Palo Alto worthwhile. Totally looking forward to staying here again, great place to have a nice clean room and meet some interesting folks 😄✌️
I dont understand the positive reviews here. The rooms make a nice first impression then its all down hill from luke warm showers to the cleaning service showing up at 10 one day and 2 the next. They advertise a happy hour on these cards in the rooms but the manager is weirdly territorial of the courtyard and couches. We were told to join the standing room only corner of the inside lobby for happy hour. Why? Like most guests here, Im in town for work. I sat in the office all day and just wanted to sit outside (on one of many empty seats) with a drink. The hostess and wait staff were incredibly rude. We just went elsewhere and had to laugh as we could see from our room those couches stayed empty till close. Good job. For the price point we expected much more or at least on par with similar hotels near by. No microwave, no breakfast. They dont offer coffee in the lobby. They do blast elevator music after 4:30. This ones a never again for me.
I stayed for 2 nights and had an excellent experience. The service is consistently wonderful, huge thank you to the staff! The decor is very cute and the room had nice touches like liquid hand soap and a really nice kettle.The open air gym is really unique. My only feedback is its a bit small and it would be great if they added a few more weights and perhaps one normal treadmill.If youre sensitive to noise, the chatter from the restaurant did waft up to the room in the evenings. It didnt particularly bother me though.
Stayed for an overnight getaway after leaving the kids with the grandparents. Had everything we needed with some nice touches.Walking distance to good eats, nice decor, fitness studio and pour over setup were nice touches.Live music and location next to a busy street made it a bit louder than I would have liked, but Im just realizing Im getting old.
This is a beautiful hotel and I very much enjoyed my stay here. However, besides all of the nice amenities, the woman at the front desk, Lucinda, made this one of the best stays Ive ever had. Coming from out of town and doing a late check-in, I was shocked by her kindness and warmth, and I instantly felt at home. Dealing with some travel complications, she did everything she could to improve my situation, beyond anything I could expect. I will recommend this place to anyone traveling to the area, and will come back whenever I am in town because of the amazing staff. They will make you feel like home.
Positive: Location for our company holiday party. The bar was nice as well Negative: We checked in at 3 pm. They said the bar was not opening until 5 pm so we had to go to Left Bank for Drinks & Appetizers. When we returned at 4:40 there was a couple being served at the bar
I had the pleasure of attending the Modern Day Wife event at the Park James Hotel in May as well as hosting an event with the company I work for the evening before. It was SUCH a wonderful experience. The staff of the hotel goes above and beyond for every single person and is so friendly and kind. I could not ask for a better experience and I cant wait to go back and stay there in the future. Also, the food and drinks at their restaurant are DELICIOUS!! Highly recommend a spicy marg :)
Great hotel, clean with friendly staff. Joanne went above and beyond and saved me a ton of money and a serious headache. The airline lost my luggage and dropped it off at the front desk but tried to drop off the wrong piece (a baby carrier). Joanne took the extra time to pay attention to detail and notice that was not my luggage and made sure the right one was delivered and not lost again!
The Park James is hands down one of my favorite hotels in NorCal! The staff is so friendly and accommodating, and the venue is beautiful. We hosted an event there and couldnt have more nice things to say about it! The event went on flawlessly, and their staff was so attentive and helpful. Highly recommend!

This spot is perfect for stays in the Peninsula area. I needed a place to rest before and after an event in Atherton. Boom. Comfortable beds. Fancy robes. Great bathroom with great smelling products. Nice entertainment setup. Handy tablet with everything a tap away. And the fancy coffee maker. I was kind of sad to leave...

Gorgeous little jewel in Menlo Park. Short stroll to quaint downtown. Fantastic dining at Oak + Violet, with perfect outdoor space for intimate dining or group celebrations. Very stylish with no pretense. Ideal getaway for my husband’s birthday. 💜
Expensive build/finishes, poor execution. When I returned to my hotel room at 9:00 PM the AC was out and the room was over 80 degrees. I called the front desk and they informed me that no maintenence personnel were on site until the morning, there was no manager on duty, and they had no extra rooms with working AC to move me to. Given the expensive cost of this hotel room this should not be an issue.This is somewhat unsurprising as the execution of the rooms is very poorly done. They have a fridge shoved in a cabinet with no ventilation (its hot when you open the door) that is destined to die prematurely. They have a very expensive coffee machine setup, but it takes 20 minutes to make coffee. Who wants to take that long in the morning when youre in a rush.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!This is a great hotel, but I want to make special mention of the bar. Ive drank and dined there twice and both times have been really wonderful experiences. The bar have an extensive list of liquors, multiple quality signature cocktails, and the bartenders are extremely skilled and knowledgeable at their craft. They are also super friendly and a lot of fun; Sarah and Sarah behind the bar are fantastic and added to the enjoyment of my friends and I during my most recent experience there. Also of not is the food; both the appetizers and entrees are amazing. Im especially fond of the mini lobster tacos and the duck. DELICIOUS.
What a stunning hotel. Rooms are beautifully designed, and the affiliated restaurant is *actually* quite delicious. Room service was speedy.Unfortunately, the front desk is a bit sloppy. I had a hard time getting through to them (had to try the call a few times to order room service because the in-room ordering tablet wasn’t working), and after checkout, they emailed me my bill AND some other guests bill! Yikes. I’m not deducting a star because I was so enamoured by the decor, but noting it here to perhaps make it known to management.

I have been staying in pretty much most of the surrounding hotels and the amenities and services are standing well above any other hotels I have experienced.The hotel manager Daniel is extremely friendly and very resourceful at meeting any special needs.Their services are impeccable! Lina and Alan are so efficient and so pleasant.I was just after Covid pandemic and was so impressed with the safety precautions they have put into place to prevent any risk of contamination.The rooms are being fully sanitized and disinfected in between visitors for at least 48 hours.I felt very safe!Definitely a must stay in this area!Also being French, I will give 5 star to the food!!Thank you Park James for making my stay amazingly pleasant and safe!Franck :>)
Front desk rarely manned. Called 2x 90 mins apart and it just rang and rang. Poor maintenance caused me to get locked out of my room for an hour at 9pm. Had to wait for the manager to drive here and hook up a computer to let me in my room. Was told to change rooms in the AM, because I wouldn’t be able to leave my room without getting locked out again. They did not offer anything to me for the inconvenience of being locked out or having to change to a less favorable room. Not even a late check out. For a hotel that caters to business travelers coming to Silicon Valley, you would think they would have secure internet for their guests. They do not. No password. Completely unsecured. I would not have been able to work on MY WORK TRIP had I not had a VPN that made the internet secure to use. Not worth the $.
My family and I had to go to a hotel due to a power outage in our house and a massive heat wave that we had in the Bay Area, we called and we had a room within 2 min ready for us an the all family with a crib and even a bed for our dog!We got in to the hotel the staff took care of us in such a great way, helped with the car, the kids, the dog and were just amazing!The hotel is super clear and everyone follow the safety guidelines of wearing masks and sanitizing hand.The power came back at around 5pm so we called to let the staff know we wont stay the night and without even asking they decided to adjust the nightly price for us, we didnt expect / ask anything of that sort and they were just super helpful and understanding of the situation.I highly recommend the hotel to anyone who is looking to stay in a clean and great hotel!
Heads up. These people do not know how to hotel. Don’t get me wrong, the physical space is beautiful. Rooms are cool and modern. The DIY coffee in the room is top notch. But the service is one big screw up. One. After. Another. The bedside tablet is intended to make things easy. But when we ordered dinner through it, we only got a glass of wine and our dessert. 45 minutes and a call later, the rest arrived. But with no tray or table to eat it on (the desk is tiny - we ate on the bed). The place seems new, so I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt. But they’ve got a way to go to have a fully functioning hotel.
In love with California Kahve Cafe!As a frequent traveler, finding a great place to work is key! California Kahve Cafe has delicious oat matcha lattes, WiFi, and comfortable seating. Plus, good vibes in an elevated environment? Sign me up!Ill definitely be back!
My husband and I had an amazing stay! The hotel is beautiful, the staff was very attentive, and the food and drinks were so good. One of the best parts of the hotel was their outdoor patio. We didnt want to leave the hotel because it was such a beautiful place to hangout. We will definitely stay here the next time we come into town.
This used to be a great hotel. I’ve stayed here many times over the past few years and always had a great experience. And I completely understand the challenges facing the workers in the hospitality industry, and want to clearly state here that each and every employee here has been attentive, respectful, and genuinely dedicated to customer service. I do take great exception however with management and ownership of this property, who have allowed this to fall below any semblance of an acceptable accommodation, even for a property with a lesser reputation to uphold. Critical business video calls were repeatedly disrupted throughout my stay by completely unacceptably poor WiFi, which finally, after the 3rd instance of reaching out to staff to report, I was told that it simply doesn’t work well in certain rooms. Though despite the hotel being less than half full, they still chose to put people in said rooms. Fix this. It’s that simple. This is Silicon Valley. Pay to resolve WiFi issues so that every room is covered (like every other hotel I’ve ever stayed at for the past decade). Numerous other things in the room were malfunctioning/in disrepair. I’ll refrain from a litany of other issues, especially those which simply reflect an understaffed, overworked situation, which is understandably linked to pandemic issues. But I place the responsibility squarely on the shoulders of Mgmt, and until that changes, I will find somewhere else to stay in the area for the foreseeable future. Sad to see a great property sink to such depths.
I absolutely enjoyed my stay at Park James Hotel. The front desk staff was so welcoming and provided a quick check-in experience. The restaurant staff was great as well and the food was delicious.....especially the mini lobster tacos.The highlight of my stay would definitely be my beautiful room. Not only was it clean and comfy, but the furnishings and décor were beautiful. I had the best nights sleep. Will definitely return for another stay in the future!

Front desk check-in staff was unwelcoming. We paid for a room upgrade but there is no way our room was any bigger or nicer than a regular room. Room was incredibly small. We could hear street noise during our entire stay. If you want a good nights sleep here i would recommend consuming a large amount of alcohol before bed so you are knocked out and won’t hear anything.
A very nice boutique hotel. Very nice building with a very nice restaurant and a bar (oak + Violet). Super amazingly appointed rooms. Comfortable and so good smelling. Totally an unforgettable experience on the night that my girlfriend kicked me out if the house and I needed a friendly lovely fancy place to stay. Would have fights with my girlfriend again to stay at this place. Total love.
There are surprisingly few hotels in Silicon Valley (and even fewer good ones) so it’s always nice to find another great option. Past the small reception is a thoughtful designed restaurant that does tasty food with plenty of healthy options served by the friendly staff. The rooms are very nicely designed - modern with a hint of mid century inspiration and delightful accessories including the coffee making kit including designer kettle. A great option if you have business - or pleasure- in this part of the world.
Brilliant! The hotel is beautiful, highly refined especially compared to what’s available in San Jose. The location of the hotel itself is not the best; it is right by a very big and used road, causing a lot of noise as well. The dining area, located in an “outside” area inside the hotel, therefore far from the cars :), is beautiful and very cozy with big couches. The food is excellent, I had the vegan burger and it was amazing. Service is decently quick and staff is very gentle. The vegan burger took a bit longer than expected (15 mins?) but it was understandable due to me eating at the very end of the restaurant’s open hours. The room was very nice and comfortable. Wi-Fi was good throughout the hotel, with the exception of the room. The hotel is very far from San Jose, and there is a crazy amount of traffic to get there.
Ate at in-house restaurant, Oak and Violet. Excellent service. Outstanding food - we had Brussel sprouts, truffle fries, Branzino, and a pesto pasta. And beautiful patio setting. There was even a live jazz band!!!
Did not get to go. I thought this trip was cancelled. I was charged a no show. I called and had several conversations with Lyle. I Explained my situation. I honestly do not think he heard anything I said. He seemed more interested in being right. I have not received any communication from this hotel in recent months or the week before upcoming stay. I thought it was cancelled. Had to cancel several trips because of covid and illness. He said they would rather lose me as a customer than work with my Husband and I. Lyle is not a manager that seems to have proper training.
Such GREAT service, not to mention the hotel is totally my aesthetic and beautiful! The front desk was SO SO SO helpful, kind, and accommodating to all my crazy requests. I am truly grateful and really appreciate it
Beautiful hotel, briefly reminded me of Das Stue in Berlin although not quite at the same level. Pleasant staff although could use some polish.Well appointed room and nice design throughout. DIY coffee in room was time consuming and bitter. Unfortunate that there were no other options in the room such as tea.Given the cost, and my experience traveling globally to hotels within the same price point, I had higher expectations.
It literally doesnt get any better than this hotel. Its about as luxury as you could possibly get the rooms are awesome especially if you get a corner room and the bathrooms are super modern and very luxurious and this is my favorite place to stay when I am in the peninsula.

We stayed at the Park James Hotel from May 31 to June 2, 2019 and loved every minute of it. The hotel is beautiful and the staff is wonderful! The rooms are so beautifully appointed with a comfortable bed, wonderful linens, and even a PJ bathrobe to use in the bathroom. Superbly clean and well-maintained with amazing decor. Valet parking attendants are quick and efficient. Friday and Saturday evenings, the place was hoppin in the courtyard and restaurant/bar area! Everyone looked really happy they were there. We had a courtyard room on the 4th floor that had a lovely view and even though there were a lot of people enjoying the evening downstairs, when we closed our sliding door we could barely hear them! Amazing place and I could not recommend it more highly than I already do. You should definitely stay at Park James on your next visit to the area.

Quaint, original, modern, and clean. Not walkable to downtown but besides that, super easy access to get to. Loved the courtyard in the hotel. Great atmosphere and comfortable couches out there. All around a great experience.
New and amazing! So delighted to have this in the Menlo Park area. Great for hanging out with friends, office parties, getting some drinks in the beautiful patio area. Oak+Violet is a very modern decor place with a very celebrative architecture. The sectionals, the indoor plants, bar area with eclectic lighting just adds so much to the experience. Food is good, loved the brussel sprouts, impossible burgers, some of our friends liked the filet mignon, steak seems to be good (note, we are vegetarians, so its not a first hand opinion). Like this place for the staff too. Valet parking is complimentary for three hours.

Very pretty and instagrammable hotel. Unfortunately, service has been terrible. On check in, I asked the front desk to book a cab for me at 7:30 am - it never showed up. Front desk initially “did not see any cab request” until looking again - then found it. Told me, tough luck, you should call an Uber. Room amenities incomplete - coffee and tea had not been replenished when I checked in. Finally, I requested laundry services through their tablet, but forgot to fill out the form. This was for a single pair of jeans. They lost the pants, could not locate them, finally found them but didn’t call me. I called the front desk to follow up and ask what happened. “Not to put this on you, but the form wasn’t filled out.” (Person who took laundry did not check for form or ask btw and there was never any follow up until I inquired about the missing pants twice). I asked to speak with a manager to provide feedback about these issues - was told they will be available between 11-12 (after checkout).This is for a hotel that cost $500/night.If you want a trendy experience but don’t need the basic services or respect expected with a hotel, perhaps this place is for you.Update from later in the morning before checkout: the coffee mate provided in the room curdled (? Didn’t know that was possible) in the coffee. I asked for a fresh batch and it happened again. I shared this info with the staff and was told they would inform housekeeping.
The Park James is an excellent place to stay! We were warmly greeted at the front desk for check in and the entire stay remained pleasant.

2023-11-15 19:32:09The hotel is beautiful and the staff is wonderful. After my stay, I received a $575 smoking charge. I absolutely did not smoke in the room and have no way to dispute the charge because there is some 3rd party device that detects this and claimed there was THC/Cigarette smoking. I would be willing to undergo any drug testing or testing for cigarette smoke as I do not partake in either and do not smoke anything period.I am shocked that this charge was applied and will never stay in the hotel again--this feels like a scam by the hotel.

They catered to various dietary restrictions, and the dishes were not only accommodating but also incredibly delicious. The service was impeccable, and it made the celebration even more special. We were in the midst of moving and though our extended stay was long, the staff here made it feel like a second home! The Park James community, from the cleaning staff to Tony at the Front office, Armando behind the bar, and up to the general manager, Lyle; all the staff were exceedingly friendly, professional and accommodating. I highly recommend the Park James Hotel for a delightful visit, long or short, at a great establishment.

Tania helped us plan the perfect event, she even recommended vendors to us and helped us figure out the table clothes and center pieces. She was always very responsive and attentive to any thing we needed. The food was amazing, our guests talked about it for weeks and all want to go back to have dinner at the restaurant. All of the service staff was friendly and always checked if we needed anything. They also accommodated our guests with special food requests.

2023-09-04 17:04:42The main reason to love the Park James are the good people here making sure that you are happy with everything. I have completely fallen for the Alejandra in the cafe. Everything is so well done, thought through, beautiful, right down to the perfect cappuccino mugs. The decor and esthetics are great. I’m tempted to live here in some way. I never get this way, I always want to leave, but not here. I want to stay.
