Came shopping to DTLA with my sister. We didnt even know that we were heading into a Chinese restaurant. Their tea was good, not too bitter, soup was a little bland but pleasant. Ordered the house fried rice and Kung Pao Chicken both were decent. Would I ever go out of my way to come back? No, but not bad.

Best Cantonese food you will ever have!!! Hole in the wall place. Best Wor wonton soup, BBQ pork, chow mein. My family has been coming here since the 1970s.

The parking lot is very small. The Chinese Food is the best that I have ate in 40 years. There are a lot of people that place orders in person to pick up and come to place orders in person. You may ask questions about the different dishes and the waitress will answer. The portions are large and delicious to eat. The booth was comfortable to sit in. The atmosphere was average. I was to impressed by the delicious food I was eating!!

Been going to this restaurant for over 40 years and telling lots of people about in the past, but just the other day I went and got there at 5:45 which is 1/2 hour before closing time. The first thing the waitress tells us, after bringing the menus was, “you better hurry up and order because we close in 1/2 an hour” The only reason I didn’t get up and leave was because my friend really wanted to go eat there since she had not been there for a while. They shouldn’t serve people after 5:30 if they’re going to hurry you up or not let you in after that time. Service has really gone down hill

It was a nostalgic moment for me as I used to go here frequently with my grandfather and dad back in the 70’s and 80’s. Good food and good service, large portions and reasonably priced. Nice trip down memory lane.

This place gives you that old school “I just got out of work” diner feel.. I love that rustic feel the interior gives off! I didn’t dine in because I was in a rush to get back and finish a movie on Netflix (Freaks) but the servings size was phenomenal! Food was great I have had egg foo yang that good since I moved to California! They only take cash so make sure you have cash before you enter & the staff have that old school “What you want” diner personality but I didn’t mind it at all.. Attitude match the decor!

Massive portions. Fast friendly service. This ends the compliments. The shrimp fried rice was greasy and it was difficult to find the shrimp. The cashew chicken should have rightly been called water chestnuts with some chicken and some cashews. There hasnt been a nickel spent on maintaining the exterior or the interior of this restaurant in years. Duct tape holding together the seat cushions, large cracks in the wood veneer on the walls.Had plenty of food left over took none of it home.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Pauls Kitchen Chinese Restaurant, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. From the moment I stepped inside, the warm and inviting ambiance set the stage for a fantastic meal. The service was exceptional. The staff was attentive and friendly, making sure we felt comfortable throughout the evening. They were more than willing to help us navigate the extensive menu, which was a welcome sight for a group of hungry food enthusiasts eager to explore a variety of dishes.Speaking of the menu, it was a treasure trove of authentic Chinese delicacies. From traditional favorites like Kung Pao Chicken and Sweet and Sour Pork to lesser-known regional dishes, Pauls Kitchen presented an impressive selection that caters to both novices and connoisseurs of Chinese cuisine. As appetizers, we opted for the Steamed Dumplings and the Crispy Spring Rolls. The dumplings were delicately wrapped, each bite bursting with flavorful fillings. The spring rolls were perfectly crispy and paired wonderfully with the accompanying dipping sauce. For the main course, we chose the Szechuan Beef, General Tsos Chicken, and Mapo Tofu. The Szechuan Beef was a standout, featuring tender slices of beef stir-fried with vibrant vegetables in a rich, spicy sauce that left a pleasant tingle on the taste buds. General Tsos Chicken was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and coated in a sweet and tangy glaze that balanced well with the chickens texture. The Mapo Tofu had just the right level of spiciness and showcased a delightful blend of flavour.

My favorite thing was the soup, employees were very friendly. Chicken salad was not good and just thrown together. Place is runned down.
