Pegasus Bakery & Caf in Sacramento

I was very satisfied with my cake I bought for my grandma’s birthday. I asked for it to not be too sweet. They informed me that all of their cakes are less sweet. I decided on a 8 inch vanilla fruit cake for $60. Now let me tell you something! I prefer savory over sweet. I do not care for cake or cookies or candy. BUT this cake was delicious and everyone ate it! Most importantly, grandma loved it! So yes! Get all your cake needs here! They have so many designs to choose from and they had my cake ready in an hour so you can also get it day of! Wonderful bakery! Would definitely come back to try the other delicious baked goods they provide as well!

I pre-ordered a Pandan cake with Durian filling with “Happy Thanksgiving” written on top. I let the bakery decide on the decorations. What I got was both one of the ugliest decorated cakes that did not even give off the feeling of the Thanksgiving holiday and worst tasting Durian. The decoration did not give me the feeling that they can take on a wedding cake. My purpose was to try their cakes and see if they are a good fit to do my wedding cake. There is no creativity and passion for this type of cake. Pandan and durian are not common cakes these days after many Viet bakeries closed. Original Durian cake is from San Jose. The real Pandan and Durian cake is both delicious and smells amazing. The Pandan sponge cake was the only part that saved this cake but it was not worth the price $52 for 6” cake when there is a comparable competitor in Elk Grove. This is the only bakery so far that I found to make Pandan cake in the area. The Durian filling is most disappointing. It tasted like frozen durian from a box and not taken fresh from the fruit. There were hard unripe pieces of durian instead of the soft flesh. The real durian cake takes the soft flesh and mixes it with fresh whip cream that is piped onto the sponge cake. They just laid the durian pieces in the cake and it made the cake soggy and the taste was awful. Real Durian cake will also take the soft flesh and whip cream and spread it on the outside. Each time I came there were little to no customers and not much to buy. The front counter ladies were not very pleasant to talk with and I felt I was rushed out before I can ask more about their services. Also they won’t tell me who is the baker so I can discuss other specialty orders. I have no confidence in this bakery that they can pull off specialty cake orders.

This place is located right near where we stay when were up in Sacramento, so I had to give this place a try. I kept reading that you need to come early because things sell out. Decided to come here around 7:30 and it seems like a good amount of things were sold out but they were refilling the trays.The couple in front of me ordered about 20 pastries so I was a little worried that I wouldnt get anything but I was able to snag a couple of choice items. I grabbed two chocolate croissants, one almond croissant, and one ham & cheese croissant. I was definitely excited to try these items because it smelled really good.I have to say I was really impressed with these croissants. The chocolate had so much chocolate inside and the croissant itself was very buttery. I ended up waiting to eat the other two, but both of them were absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend coming into this place if you are ever in the area!

Custom cake needed? Give them a try! Everyone at our birthday dinner was in AWE of the cake design & how it tasted!!!!!!! 10/10 perfection quality cakes. I promise. Everyone asked what bakery I ordered the cake from & I told them- “PEGASUS BAKERY”! YAY for birthday girl & all the guests. Cake was gone after a few minutes. That’s how you know it was more than just good. Everyone was happy.

I ordered a sponge cake through DoorDash, it fell apart when I received it! I called Pegasus to see if they have anyway to make up because it is my kids birthday I don’t want it to be ruined by the cake! The person who picked up the phone told me to come to the shop so they can fix it, I told them very nicely that I couldn’t go there with 2 little kids and a baby, that’s why I need to order through DoorDash. She was like:” so we cannot go to your house to fix it either, that’s not our fault!” I knew it was not totally Pegasus’s fault, dasher was the one to blame on, but hey, I’m your customer, you make money through DoorDash order too, I’m talking to you nicely, should you please talk nicely too! Bad customer service! Never will come back!

My favorite bakery in town!!!!! Cheap price for all their item and love their fruit cake. You can always customize the cake just to send them a photo. Got a huge portion of my cake for under $100. Highly recommended this store for whoever love bakery items! Will definitely come back again and please stay in business forever!

Excellent place for delicious bakery items. Ordered cake for my daughters birthday and everyone loved it. Ordered fruit cake and tipping was whip cream made by egg whites. Not to sweat, fluffy and delicious.Owners: are great people who believe in giving back to the community. Highly Recommend this place.

The store has expanded with a new area to sit and have some new sets of food!

First time at this place! I probably came too early and they were just setting out the pastries... Alsa I didnt have much to choose from. I grabbed a few random ones and thought I try a Crepe! It was surprising to see a ham crepe.. Definitely not gonna try that..(yet)! I settled on Strawberry ice cream crepe!! It was so good but not enough ice cream! And a tad bit too many diced strawberries fruit! Some fruits were sour! But that goes really well with the sweet strawberry ice cream flavour!

Good service. Nice presentation of baked goods. Everything labeled clearly. Pastries not sweet but good. Asian style.
