Ive only had the Monte Cristo but my co-worker had the French Toast. We both agreed it was really good. We both were satisfied with the quality of food and the portions. This place is 🔥. Penfolds will not disappoint. I ate one of the cherries before I decided to take a pic! 😋

Customer Service is excellent they welcome you as soon as you enter through the door. All the way till you leave. Not many places with friendly customers Service anymore. The food was delicious. If youre really hungry, order the country fried steak. Its made for two people, lol. Penfolds will be our to go place every time we are in the area. Thank you for your excellent service, Savannah.!!

Breakfast is over the top here! Huge and perfected! Chicken fried steak is amazing! Omelette s are great too! Their French toasts are fun and built for 2-3 to share! Bacon is great! Drinks are specialty and good! Pricey but worth it for a nice family meal.

Food and service were phenomenal. Portions were grand at a reasonable price. Not a tourist trap like the rest of Temecula. It’s where the locals get their food. Diner vibe. Tuna melt was excellent. Cinnamon roll French toast decadent. And service was excellent. Always checking in you. Food was quick. It is a large restaurant so there is plenty of seating indoors and out.

Great place to be. Amazing food and pastries. Especially love the Bob’s breakfast sandwich. Basically all the breakfast foods put into one. Like all great restaurants, it could get pretty crowded on weekends so keep that in mind before going. Regardless, an unforgettable experience.

This place is more like Denny’s, salmon Benedict was one of the worst I have tried in California, soggy English muffin very average potatoes, pre- soaked, overcooked frozen spinach and prices were high . So many better locations in Temecula to choose from if you love good food I don’t recommend here.

We were looking for a good place to have breakfast on a recent visit to the Temecula area and we found Penfolds while walking from our Hotel to the Old Town area. We decided to have breakfast here. I had an omelet and my wife some simple bacon and eggs, some biscuits and gravy and a couple of coffees. The food was delicious and service was excellent. We were happy to have found this restaurant. We will be back when visiting Temecula. Highly recommended

Penfolds is an adorable family owned/operated diner at the edge of Old Town Temecula. Stepping in and looking around at all the decor takes you back to another era! Theres a carousel horse, vintage lunch boxes, toys and a big old gumball machine! We stopped in for a late Saturday morning breakfast recently. While they were fairly full, we were greeted and seated right away. The menu is extensive and has something for everyone. We ordered the Penfold omelette and a tuna melt. I love tuna melts but the quality and taste of tuna salad varies so widely among diners/restaurants - many times, theres way too much mayo for my taste. Penfolds tuna salad was great, with just the right amount of seasoning and mayo. The sourdough bread was very thick and I ended up eating it open-faced, and there was only the tiniest amount of cheese which was ok for me. But overall, the great taste of the tuna salad and the super crisp fries, made it a winner meal. My husband loved his omelette and crispy home fries. He asked for the country gravy on the side just to try it. It didnt look very appetizing (a sad, pale color)...and wasnt, so he relied on ketchup instead!Our waitress Leah was very attentive and pleasant. When we were checking out, it was fun to see the crazy gigantic cinnamon and sticky buns in the front case that look like theyd feed an entire family. Super reasonably priced, too!This was a sweet diner with good food and great service. Well definitely be back!

My family and I really enjoy eating at this old town Temecula staple. Penfolds Cafe & Bakery is warm and inviting. The staff is always friendly and prompt. The food at Penfolds is really good. I recently had their Cowboy Chicken Fried Steak (breakfast). I have had this dish before and recall the meat and bread having more flavor. This time it was somewhat tasteless. Everything else was great.

Great diner in the heart of Temecula! Me and my newlywed wife came to eat at this place and we loved it! I recommend coming here if you love the homey feeling as if you were in your own house eating. The staff are friendly, food is great, and the portions are solid. I will be going back for my next visit in Temecula.

Came here for the first time on our way to a spa day. Breakfast was delicious and generous. Sat at the bar because it was crowded, but that was the best spot because we got to see all the delicious food being ordered. Ordered Ortega omelette with ham and avocado, veggie omelette with Hollandaise sauce and chicken fried steak breakfast. Staff was super friendly. Brought out a huge cinnamon role with candles for our friend. Made you feel like home. Shout out to our waitress whos turning 60 on 7/24🙂. Best of all, they have mimosas🍾🥂🍾.

Place is always super good. Customer service wasnt as good as other times. Our waitress seems a little bothered when we asked her for more napkins and some other stuff. Luckily the supervisor or manager on duty came by and we were able to ask her for the stuff we needed. But overall the food was great like always. I think the cooks dont get recognized as much as they should but the breakfast was on point!! We loved it! Will be back because of the good

A popular place with a good crowd of people. I had an enjoyable breakfast here. I ordered huevos rancheros. It was good but not special. I get the feeling some of their other dishes are better. We sat outside. It was nice, but the parking lot is right there and cars are going by so thats why I didnt give the atmosphere a better rating. The service was good. I would go back.

As of right now, this is my favorite place to eat in Temecula. Comfort food and breakfast galore. Everything tastes amazing. Even a simple bowl of oatmeal. I’ve had eggs, waffles, sausage, etc. so much to choose from. They even have a neat gift shop. Staff is nice and the place is clean. Will be eating here again.

I always use the bathroom and wash my hands before I sit down. If the bathroom is not clean or is old, thats probably how their kitchen is as well. This family owned restaurant is not actually in Old Town Temecula, even though other reviews say it is. The prices are way too high although they serve a large amount of food. Unfortunately, the food we got was not of good quality. The fruit was rotten, and the hasbrowns were burnt on both sides. There was hardly any gravy on my omelet, and my eggs were burnt. I want to open a restaurant thats called Burnt Eggs, where your eggs are always brown. Ow wait, thats almost every breakfast restaurant. Im sure you will have a better experience than I did.😁

This is a very popular place and busy. Our food arrived cold, coffee was luke warm, and the booth we sat in for 5 was very tight. My breakfast was comped but we most likely wont visit again if we are in Temecula. It might have been just too busy that day for the cooks and food servers? The food server was very pleasant and manager did feel bad about my cold sausage and under cooked eggs.

I went to Penfold’s Cafe & Bakery because so many good people could not say enough good things about the place. Always the curiosity of what if this place is a good place? 4 Stars among reviewers is not a shabby score, and look at the size of some of those bakery items! Big generous portions to be sure! I said to my tribe, let’s just concentrate on the Bakery side of this place. Arrive early enough to guarantee freshness and availability, what do you say? A unison yes, and we drove from Menifee, about 15 minutes drive, and I bought a few bakery items, to the tune of almost $20. Another family member spent another $20? Between the both of us, and what was on display at the time, we pretty much picked what was available. Went back home, made gourmet coffee, and proceeded to try the goodies, which were no good. No skills, mediocre quality, big does not count when finesse is not present, so Penfold bakery side turned out to be, besides the unhealthy aspects of a huge roll covered with melted sugar, and some overly expensive other items, a not so great bakery. Dry, poorly prepared by whomever is in charge of baking. Very seldom we throw purchased bakery items away, but this time we did it, for the other option was to consume something that was clearly disappointing. I am assuming the food is a little better? Let’s hope so, in the very remote case someday we venture in. Not all bakeries are created equal, that’s for sure! 2 Stars.Went back after about 3 years. The first visit was only to buy several baked items. Was a fiasco, but having seen the place from the inside, and reading many encouraging reviews, it took us a while, but we arrived hungry for breakfast on a Thursday around 11AM. The place takes a prize for their vastly decorated establishment. Service was adequate, place looked about 60 crowded. Food ordered: Eggs Benedict Penfold, $12.95. Eggs very runny, sauce average, potatoes arrived looking past their prime, one third consumed. Not spectacular by any stretch of the imagination, but decent enough. 3.5 Stars. Chicken Fried Steak Cowboy size, $14.95. Decent size, but not shockingly so. Soft enough, seasoning in the bland side, hash browns way past crunchy, biscuits and gravy easy to eat. Gravy no Southern masterpiece, but was consumed zero troubles. 3.5 Stars. Our loveliest and oldest wanted light fare, had to go strictly sides. Two scrambled eggs and english muffin bare, very close to $9. Eggs arrived in a tea size plate, stepchild treatment, frankly not much to comment for our hungry senior, kind of forced to eat light, finished in record time. 3 Stars. Coffee no redeeming quality, expensive enough, weak and plain. 2 Stars. Lipton tea bags for two, hot water, not much to say. Bill over $52 with proper gratuity. 3.5 Stars.

We always have a good time when we go to Penfolds. I like the nostalgia of the old toys displayed throughout the whole entire restaurant. Its cozy & (not creepy )and sweet.The menu is wonderful 😋 and always tasty. This place has an old-fashioned feel to it. They have a large outdoor eating area as well so we were able to eat outside with our dog. The food was decent enough but not spectacular. I think my wife enjoyed it more than I did. I was expecting more bakery items, but what they had looked ok. There was plenty of parking, and it was easy to get to.

The only reason I give this place 5 stars is because the store is controlled bye Nick Love. I have nothing to say bad about this guy. He knows how to treat people. Great with customers. Unlike his father Steve love that’s money hungry and slaves people at his gas station across the street. Sales were at 30% when I started went to 60 % and cut budgets. Money hungry

Loved Penfolds Cafe!!! Absolutely amazing find. Clean restaurant EXTREMELY Friendly and attentive staff and the food portions are out of this world!! I met clients there and got a really fun dish called The Mess. Its made eggs, hash browns, onions, spinach, mushrooms, peppers and ground beef all scrambled into one big Mess and topped with Jack, Cheddar cheese and salsa. The baked goods though is where its at! They had quite possibly the largest Cinnamon roll Ive ever seen in my life! All so delicious too! So if youre in the Temecula area be sure and give them a try. Very highly recommended!!!

My first time going here. Not the best first impression but I will say that they seemed very apologetic so Im thinking something kind of random happened. After so many years in the industry, I can understand. It happens. The manager came out before I even realized anything happened so that was a good sign to me. I ordered a bloody Mary but my food came out before the drink. Normally, I like my drink to be served before the food. So I was a little upset about that but like I said, the manager came out to ensure everything was OK. But then, the edges of my chicken fried steak were burnt. Also, I asked for a side of gravy and never got that. Another server helped out and brought my entree out for her but she waited until she brought my food to ask if I wanted salt and pepper. When I asked for snp and Tabasco, Im sitting there waiting as Im chasing flies away from my food thats sitting there getting cold. She brings out 2 little packets of salt and 2 of pepper. Those pepper packs have such a small pinch of pepper I had to ask for more. The manager was there and saw her bring out the plate with snp on it. He acted surprised for me. It seemed nice at first but now, in retrospect, I feel like he was trying to soften the mistake but really didnt care much. I say this because he asked me if the chicken fried steak was OK. I took the first bite and it was burnt. I told him. He said...here let me get you another one... and left. He never returned.The gravy was OK. I couldnt quite tell if it was canned gravy or homemade so I guess thats good that I couldnt tell?? It was thick and creamy so I guess thats all that matters but the chicken fried steak did seem homemade because the breading was falling off while I was cutting it. Which is good because that tells me its homemade but bad because they didnt prepare it correctly. I think the steak was just a little over fried. Which is evident because it was burnt.The plate of biscuits was huge. Couldnt finish though.The home fries served were lifeless. Very drab and wilted.I do feel I got off to a bad foot from the beginning but the food did not make up for the problems so its 2 star for me

First time at this establishment for breakfast. the meal itself was acceptable and the ambiance was fine. the dings on the experience related to our waitress who seemed to be distracted, mixed up part of the order and charged us for an adult meal for my kid who clearly had a childrens menu (this was partly my fault as i will usually verbalize that my child is ordering from the kids menu to precisely avoid this type of confusion). we are new to the area but its doubtful that we will be returning.

Today, my husband and I dined at Penfolds for the second time in one week. Our server today Regina was beyond amazing, attentive, courteous and made sure she was attentive not only to us but to all her customers. She was never slacking. Penfold’s is a total gem. I’m visiting the Temecula area and saw all of the great reviews. I totally agree. I’ve been there three times in the last week. Great omelettes and waffle, but I would like to highlight the home fries. They are the traditional chopped potatoes grilled with onions and green peppers. Im from out of town, but I try to go here every time Im in town. I really like the food and the cinnamon roll. Ive usually gone for breakfast but tried lunch last time and I liked the burger I got. Nice atmosphere with friendly staff and vintage toy decorations.

Food was wonderful and the staff was lovely. Unfortunately I am VERY immuno compromised. One of the waitresses was wearing a mesh sequin mask, I do not care about people’s political beliefs and I did not and would not publicly address her. As I have a severely compromised immune system I did call the restaurant after the fact and was told In no uncertain terms that they did not care. So I will unfortunately not be able to visit again. That being said if you are healthy, great place to go, if you are immunocompromise, elderly, unvaccinated or in any way concerned about the pandemic, Don’t.

Excellent customer service!! Family friendly and the food was delicious!! Hubby had an omelet with biscuits and gravy,it was huge! I had the corn beef and hash with fruit and biscuits with gravy! Just my size but the biscuits were huge! Grandson had the chocolate chip pancakes,he ate it all. Very comfy food and the price was just right. Thank you Penfolds,we will definitely be back.

Penfolds has the greatest food.!!! They have a wide selection of super yummy stuff. Their cinnamon rolls are crazy good. Also their service is top notch their servers are the nicest people. Make sure you say hi to Tracy, Nancy, Inez And the rest of the super wonderful people that always treat me with kindness and make sure you have everything you need. I have traveled all over the world and I’m telling you this is the best place to eat breakfast.

The breakfast food was horrible! Corn beef hash tasted like it was from a can. Turkey patty tasted like an old stale hamburger. The service was good though. But dont go for the food!

Love love penfolds, booming with people but service is quick and worth the wait, everything is usually good, just last time I went I ordered a Reuben sandwich and the bread was covered in excessive oil that I had to use my husbands toast to replace it since Im not one to complain but I love their pastries. One of the best places I visited so far in Temecula that they make your food just the way you order it and its been delicious every time (4 times so far) whether its been for breakfast or lunch, I have not been disappointed! Friendly and kind with great pies (for me apple) for dessert that I cant seem to resist half the time that I stop in! Burgers are fantastic and the chicken and waffles off the chart delicious and well prepared! One of my planned stops with my laptop whenever I am in the area.

I normally get Fried Chicken and Waffles, which is really good. This time opted for Cowboy Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs. It was good but there was no taste / seasoning to the gravy. Eggs were cooked perfectly as were the country potatoes. Wife had breakfast sandwich, when was really good but will stick with chicken and waffles next visit 😊

I ordered a salad and while it tasted okay, I had an issue come up and the waitress was more than understanding and did not make me uncomfortable given the situation.The menu offers a surplus of breakfast and lunch choices including ranch eggs, which Im assuming means organic & free range which is a plus. The pastries all look delicious. The place is clean and the service is great. Penfolds is definitely worth a visit if youre in the area. Conveniently located near the 15 fwy exits.

Ok their food is always great, this last time I ordered their Tractor breakfast, 2 pancakes, scrambled eggs and 2 sausage links. Yum. It was so good I actually finished all my food. Always fresh and delish. The place is always clean, cool and the staff is very friendly and helpful. 9/10

This place is the best! Been going there for nearly 10 years now, great Food and Service and good to see the staff really work together, Chefs & waitresses; waiters and hard working Busboys too, and they make you comfortable like a family. The owner & family members are real pleasant to talk to. Its now gotten busier over the weekend, but worth waiting for in Old Town Area.
