Really enjoyed the food. Meat portion in Taco was very generous (with quality)The yellow chili with seasoning was amazing...the sauce bar with fresh radishes was welcoming. Overall the food was very good, already scheduled a date this month to drive back from San Diego for another round of Tacos.

I start by saying I find it interesting that Google reviewers have Pepes listed at 5 stars, and Yelp rating is 3. I found Pepes on Google while searching for best crunchy tacos near Los Alamitos. Thank goodness I found them on Google as I may have skipped them if my search was on Yelp as my rating for Pepes is a solid 5 stars.I ordered 1 papas (potato) taco, 1 shredded beef taco, and 2 chilis. They have a nice salsa bar that includes sliced radishes, limes and pickled onions.The potato taco was everything! Im a beef eater and found the potato taco VERY satisfying! Delicate, light, fluffy, whipped potatoes in that crisp fried shell, ice cold finely shredded lettuce and cheese...hit it with the spicy salsa and have a bite of the seasoned chilis with every bite of your taco...heaven!The shredded beef taco was equally great! Nice portion of beef in the taco. The chilis are salted and covered in some seasoning, chamoy maybe? I dont know what it was, but I do know they were the best Ive had. So good!Im adding Pepes to my list of must hits whenever Im in town. Im so mad we dont have one in San Diego! Until next time, Pepes!!

I recently visited Pepes Finest Mexican Food and found the ambiance to be loud, similar to most fast food places. There is plenty of indoor seating available, making it convenient for a quick meal or dine-in experience.The staff at Pepes Finest Mexican Food was very kind and accommodating. Despite the restaurant being busy and having a waitlist, they went above and beyond to make sure we were seated, even going past their stopping point for the waitlist.However, I found the food to be rather bland and lacking in flavor. The Sopes were decent, but not exceptional. On the other hand, the Potato Tacos stood out as a highlight with their delicious flavor and texture. I love this place. Has best Mexican food in town. Does not have soups or birria. But tacos and the rest are on point. This location is in Hawaii gardens, across from casino. They also do not carry shrimp, there is a location down the street for that one. Customer service is amazing. Always clean. Tasty food

I didnt notice until today that these guys stay open until 10pm! Love the tacos and burritos. Breakfast is my thing and they serve it all day! Reasonably fast for drive thru orders and I have never had a problem with the quality or taste of anything Ive ordered. Way better than any version of Albertos/Albertacos,etc.

Service was fast, friendly, and welcoming. The food is delicious. The portions of the rice was a little small for me but I was able to make it work. I liked the atmosphere. Real chill. They got TVs and offer free refills on the fountain drinks! Overall, its a good little place to get a bite to eat. Id recommend it!

Solid Mexican Fast Food. The plates average $8-10 which is $1-2 more than average but I find the trade off a bit worth it in that the food is has less grease and feels less processed. Their guacamole is on point as it even has chunks of avocado in it.

What struck me most here was the communication between the staff. As I was enjoying my excellent breakfast burrito I was listening to how the cashier was making sure the kitchen knew exactly what the customers wanted in special orders. She was also very friendly to customers and greeted them promptly as they came in or approached the counter.As mentioned above, my meal was very satisfying. The ingredients were fresh. It was fresh off the grill. It had plenty of meat. They definitely didnt skimp on serving size. Excellent flavor.After eating, I needed to visit the restroom. Clean, well stocked, pleasing decor. Good job.Ill probably be back, and maybe with friends.

Im disappointed with my order today. I ordered a Machaca Burrito with No Beans, No Rice, and No Potatoes. The Server actually repeated my order saying no beans, no rice, and no potatoes twice; first upon taking my order, then upon payment and receiving the order.I ordered it this way because of a medical condition and need to limit my intake starch/carbs.What did I find? Wish I could give this place -5 stars. The last dozen times we have come they give us incorrect orders or just make it wrong. Tonight was the last straw we were given the wrong order I had to drive all the way back after waiting in that insane line for subpar food as it is. They gave me my order I made sure to ask if it was made the way we ordered they insured it was and when I got home cut into it it was all wrong. I called and called the inconsiderate inexperienced girl took the cooks word for it and didnt check it herself again. So this place has officially lost our business for good. Teach your cooks and your staff how to read orders and to check before pushing them out. This is coming from someone who has over 20 years restaurant experience. Not worth the cost or wait!

This is one of my favorite spots. They have a quick drive through as well but the food never tastes like fast food or other drive through options. They have these chicken tacos that are so freakin good. They are more the home style white people kind but sometimes I want that type too. With the shredded chicken lettuce sour cream shredded cheddar. I usually opt for the Chili Relleno because thats my go to everywhere. Theres is really good but it has sooo much cheese.. like your throats full of cheese so dont choke 😂 but just a yu.my plate.

Drove over here by fwy just to order 3 Carnitas burritos waited almost 30 minutes in drive thru got burritos home and started eating them one side rice dry and crunchy the other side a tsp of beans the Carnitas were like beef jerky but drier. There was only crumbles of rock hard remnants of the bottom of a very old batch of Carnitas. We could not even eat them i just paid almost $30 for 3 burritos so horrible my family told me call them we will take them back so i did and the girl on the phone said thank you we will let the manager know. Thats it? Thats all you can say ? My family orders from Pepes 2 times a week and sometimes weekends also but after this and they heard the lady on the phone say thank you we will let the manager know and not even say hey really sorry bring them back and we will replace them with something else no not even an offer of a apology. I enjoyed Pepes tacos combination meal plates. Included is 2 tacos with guacamole delicious moist rice, beans.At this establishment you dont need to ask for guacamole, nor pay extra for it. You get hearty portions, this combo is enough for dad and myself. Loce the crunchy hard shells. Customer service is superior, nice pleasant clean dinning area. Get this folks the restrooms are very clean. Everytime I go to Pepes someone is cleaning the dinning. No need to ask someone to clean a table for you. Theses folks know what theyre doing, and they are using excellent customer service skills. Its always a pleasure to spend my money at Pepes. I moved from Lakewood 4 years ago, but if I want tacos I jump on the 91, to the 605 to travel where I know Im getting what I paid for. Kudos to Pepe

Good variety of food. Tacos, burritos, enchiladas, chile relleno, etc... Pepes has it all. Food is either very tasty or just good.They are open very late on the weekends. Drive thru queue can get long during dinner time. Dine-in ordering is usually quicker.My only gripe is their lack of an official menu online. You have to use customer photos of their menu boards which range from blurry to obscured by glare.

Just picked up my 3rd Postmates order because the food was delicious. Todays order was different(eggshells in my burrito not a little piece a large piece) I called to speak with the manager I let the employee know who answered why I was calling (they dont give their names) and he said um ok he then proceeded to yell for a manger while I was on the phone the manager yelled back what do they want? I went here a few weeks ago (April 2022) and order Senora Nachos, mulita and their mini chicken and beef flautas.Nacho meat was so very bland. We didnt even eat it. We threw it away. Mulita was a tortilla folded in half with the meat and cheese. It wasnt even a mulita it was more of a quesadilia. Im not Hispanic but I know what a Mulita should look and taste like. We live in LA and it was disappointing. The mini flautas were the only thing that was good. The beef flautas are wayy too dry dont order that just stick to the chicken. Overall 1/2 star.

I just moved near this restaurant and was really in the mood for Mexican food so I thought I’d try them. Wow was this good! Good value for your money as well! Their refried beans were much like the delicious ones I’ve had in Mexico. The Chili Relleno was authentic and delicious! Their salsa was delicious and loved the garlic in it. The first time I evr had a Chile Relleno burrito was at the Alhambra Pepes location. To me that was one of the best burritos I ever had, the beans were so creamy! Or was I just so hungry I didnt know any better... NOT! The Alhambra location does NOT serve the burrito with rice and it shouldnt be eaten that way.In any case, that was not the case at this PePes location, they served it with rice. :( I was so bummed out after syncing my teeth into the burrito. If Im ever by this PePes location, Ill make sure to order the Chile Relleno burrito WITHOUT RICE!

Everything Ive had here has been amazing! This last visit I was looking for the comfort of a fat carnitas burrito. Headed back to OC from Lakewood, I thought of Pepes.Carson/Lincoln was crazy busy. The casino? Who knows? But the drive thru line was pretty long. Bout 8 or 9 cars long and thru the car park. By the time I got to order (which was only a couple minutes!), I knew exactly what I wanted, was coached by the order taker, and BAM, ordered the carnitas burrito minus rice... Because, well carbs. Haha!Hit the window no more than 2 minutes later and that girl is cheerful! Every time I see her, I get the impression that she really appreciates serving me.I took the long way home so I could kill the awesome comforting wrapped section of heaven I now held in my hands. I drove up, the female on the microphone had a very positive and upbeat tone in her voice. I explained that I was there for the first time and asked for a recommendation. The food was ok i ordered flautas like taquitos but flour tortilla they came in orders of 3 or 6 i ordered 3 expecting to get three actual ones instead i got one cut into three pieces about inch long for 4.00 so not happy i probably wont waste more money there

Friendly service. Big portion of asada fries. Couldve had a bit more asada, but large portion with a good price.
