So happy I was able to eat here after hearing all the hype! Food was definitely the best Ive had in Redding, and the views of the landing strip and mountains were beautiful! Definitely will be going here regularly!

Nice high end restraunt at the Redding Airport. Big glass windows mak a great view pf the sky, airport, and the planes taking off or landing. The food was A+ I ate the sauteed prawns it was delicious. My date had the curried lamb which he enjoyed very much. Im not much of a lamb person but it was good depite that. The food is affordable and it is a great place for a lunch or dinner date. Great food, great service, great views and great price.

Amazing food we got 4 plates to share between 5 people. And went home with 3 full to go boxes. Friendly staff, great portions. Good prices, very cute resturant located upstairs with a great view overlooking the airport. I was not expecting it to be so fancy for being inside the Redding airport. A Redding favorite. Been around a while and it is on the 2nd floor of the little Redding airport. Interesting view. I always see a bunch of locals there. Quality drinks at a fair price. I like to sit at the bar but there are only a few seats. Peter is a great dude. The crew is very good at what they do.
The food is excellent!! The restaurant and the view of airport runways is awesome. The service is fast and friendly. Its hard to get their attention or stop long enough to listen and answer questions. They are movin!
It was very crowded, and we had to wait for seat. They put us at a little table smashed into a corner with plants getting in the way. An office party happened 2 feet from us. The restaurant was so noisy we could not hear each other talk. The food was good but the servers were so busy they practically tossed plates to people. I will give it 1 more chance in case this was an off night.Dont expect an Asian-artsy decor. Its modern and sterile.The owners are very friendly and try to be accommodating.

Friday night is a bit of a wait. So get there early. Everyone in the complete staff is nice the waitresses are prompt and accurate.Great food not expensive. Im definitely going here from now on when Im wanting Chinese food.

Their online information is outdated. They do not serve lunch, even though the website claims otherwise. We drove my brother to the airport for his flight, and planned to have lunch together before he left. We were disappointed to find that they were not open for lunch. Its purported to be a good restaurant, but they do not respect their customers enough to bother updating their online information. Very unprofessional.

I was on my way home and got to the airport and was thrilled to find out that Peter chews was still open. I had just enough time to go upstairs and have a beer and some Mongolian beef which was fantastic. Definitely the highlight of an otherwise not so great business related trip.
Heavy handed pour on the alcohol but Im definitely not complaining! Food is always soo good. Always enough for leftovers, which we all know IS THE BEST!

Friend and I had lunch there. She got a mongolian beef and prawn special. I got ginger/garlic prawns. Ordered meal. Which came with soup, spring roll, fried won tons, & steamed rice. Loved it! Was all delicious. 😋 even brought some home. Meals were $13-$15. Definitely going back.

Food here is always fantastic, always a packed house. Large Family style plates can be a bit slow at times when packed but serves are always on s hustle. If you plan to try it out make sure your hit the airport location up and dont forget the POT STICKERS!!!!
Great food and a cool location. Their lunch deals cant be beat. My favorites are dry braised chicken, beef with yellow onions, and Kung Poa chicken. They come with really good Asian corn chowder and egg rolls. The staff is great too.

Our family really enjoys Peter Chus. We order take out often. Its our favorite in the Redding area. Their deep fried Bean curd (tofu) with the spicy ginger and garlic sauce is very good. At least in our opinion...Update:. Upgrading to 5 stars. This place is great, the people are great and the food is great, IMHO.

Unfortunately something has changed at Peter Chus. My hope is that the quality of the food is down due to the inability to obtain the better ingredients at this time with all the troubles, and the atmosphere that was purely restaurant, where a couple goes to eat and leave. Certainly not a place anymore for a couple to enjoy a meal together with ambience and a feeling of being special. Lights were too bright the acoustics were very harsh. The service although good was intrusive. It seemed they were constantly checking to see if we were finished with a dish and then before you put your utensils down Whoosh! Gone! Then to ask for a box. I was given enough boxes for each left over item and a bag for the wontons and an eggroll. Now I dont know about anyone else but putting food in Chinese food boxes is not for the faint of heart. I had stuff everywhere! What happened to the wonderful server that was so adept at neatly and quickly packaged your food? I always am fascinated by how efficient the whole process works. There was also one person that was missing and that was Peter Chu himself. He always came to the table to say hello. Hope all is well with you!

Tried it today for lunch time. We had a group of 7, and we got great service from the moment we sat down. It is quite a popular place for weekday lunch, many specials to choose from. Yummy corn soup, everything we ordered had great flavor... beef, sweet and sour chicken, my favorite was the egg rolls.... delicious, you will becoming back... thank you!!!
Romantic dinner with a loved one, or large party of 20 celebrating a birthday. Either one works, you wont be disappointed. You must try the house special dry braised chicken ( get it mild!). Ive been to hundreds of Chinese/ Cantonese places, this is our favorite hands down.

My favorite restaurant in Redding. Lunch menu is a tremendous value. Dinner portions are huge. Order the potstickers when you order drinks, they are handmade and need 15 minutes of prep time. They are worth it for sure!
The meats were ok but not great. I have been to Chinese restaurants all over the USA and this is the first restaurant that does not allow you to pay extra to upgrade your white rice to egg fried rice or any type of fried rice for that matter! It was the weirdest thing to be eating General Tso chicken with white rice in a Chinese restaurant! I gave it 3 stars because the manager and a couple other employees that I interacted with were very friendly. Other than the interaction I would have given the food between a 2-3 stars

Love to take my family here. The menu is incredible, very extensive. Delicious Chinese food. The restaurant is run by a family, they want you to be full and happy. Each dish has a distinct flavor, and they serve plenty. They also have a full bar, great drinks. If the stairs are too much, there is an elevator.
I picked up takeout. It was good, on time, and reasonably priced. I have not eaten in the restaurant, but it looks very nice.
My favorite Chinese food place. We go here for most family birthdays because the food and service is outstanding and reasonably priced. Recently remodeled very nicely. Its in the airport so we like to watch the planes land and take off and view the Fire planes come through right from the windows in the restaurant. The bar area is very nice and they have a large salt water aquarium with vibrant colors that catches the eyes.

Never a bad bite.We still remembers that all there was at the Redding airport, was a 4 ft fence 20 by 20 ft grass spot to put you blanket on to wait for the plane to arrive. Wow. Best service in Redding, Ca. You will not run out of drinks and they check on you and are so sweet!. The food came out fast and was pure amazing. I meant to tell the wait staff how sweet they were but they looked busy so, if you see this... thank you again! The top of our list on go-to restsurants... a weekly visit for us. Not only is their food absolutely delicious, but their attention to customers is superb! Always attentive to all of our needs instantly...from refilling water to tweaking their menu to our requests. And the major icing on the cake...they use CLEAN tablecloths! Who does that anymore?? Just makes customers feel like their dining in a high priced restaurant, while not paying the cost. But for the nurse in me...just love having a clean table without having to share other customers germs. Thank you Win Zing, Tammy, and Tom...youre just the best!

One of the best Chinese restaurants in the North State. Decor very well appointed and dont be put off by the fact that it is at Redding Airport. In fact you get free parking in the Airport parking lot for up to 4 hours.The food is out of this world. Very fresh and with a large variety. You MUST try the egg rolls. They are freshly made on site and the best I have ever had.Terrific, well appointed bar where, if you like, you can eat from the a la carte menu. And Peter does really good drinks - with the emphasis on really good.Excellent views of the main runway from the dining room for the aviation enthusiasts.The prices are very reasonable.I highly recommend Peter Chus Skyroom Restaurant.
Worst service ever! We called to make a reservation for 5 & a baby & was told only parties over 6 get a reservation. When we arrived we got scolded for not calling. The food was different but, fine but, the Service was the worst. 1 waitress kept screaming at another. It was loud, they basically tossed the food on the table. When asking for boxes, they threw a stack of tiny boxes on the table. I couldnt get out of there fast enough. Their staff needs anger management therapy.

Ive only had take out. But their food doesnt disappoint. Everything has been delicious and so much of it. Everytime I call and order, they are gracious and and accommodating over the phone and even more gracious, friendly and helpful when I pick it up.
Have been to dinner here twice in the past month, both times with my friend flying back to the Bay area. We were both so pleasantly surprised to find not only excellent food but such friendly attentive service. Not all airport restaurants rate so well. Will definitely be back.
The food is excellent, the drinks are strong, the service is good, and the view is beautiful. The entree meals are large enough to split between 2 adults. Peter Chus Skyroom is one of my favorite places in town.
Have eaten there twice now and the service is great! The food is excellent and both the beef and chicken were oh so tender. I especially enjoyed the Won Ton soup with seafood. It isnt what you will get in SF or Las Vegas, but its very very good!
Came here for a dinner party for my Cousins birthday. As its on the second floor of the Redding Municipal Airport, it has a window and a structure that felt off at first due to the slanted roof, but I got used to it. Being part of the airport, the Skyrooms window doesnt offer much scenery, but whether this detracts from the experience is up to the individual. As this was a dinner party, we ordered two gourmet dinners for six people each (I believe cost $25 apiece), which resulted in a large and fancy boat filled with appetizers at first, before other plates were brought in with the main courses such as orange chicken and chow mein. I only had the orange chicken and the appetizers, as I ordered a dish myself, Teriyaki Beef. The Teriyaki Beef was brought, six skewers with a portable burner (I cannot recall the proper name for it) for me to cook the beef on myself. Undoubtedly an irreplicable experience. Particularly as said burner actually erupted into flames! However it was not a fire hazard as the staff swiftly came to extinguish it with the pitcher of drinking water. If anything the incident enhanced my experience. Were it not at the airport, I would definitely frequent this restaurant.
My wife and I have just moved here recently and we love Chinese food. This place is one of the cutest place for a date night. It always has the best food and the best views. I love this place and would recommend it to anyone. They have the best waiters and the best service. They always make me smile and they always make sure I get lots of food. The best chinese food in the Redding area hands down. They have great deals on their family dinner options and I have yet to find anything on their menu I didnt love. Dont let the location at the airport scare you off they are located above the terminal and have beautiful views including Mt. Lassen and if youre an aviation nut like me you get the added bonus of seeing some of the air traffic. Very nice clean and quiet atmosphere.

I love the location; but every dish I have had there is either too SWEET or to SALTY!!! For example the Hot and Spicy Eggplant tastes like it had four tablespoons of sugar🤮.! So I wouldn’t eat there if I was diabetic!!!I wish the cook would taste the dishes! I prefer Spicy and HOT!! Seriously
This is our celebration meal go-to. Theyve updated the decor a little, but Theyve got a classic Chinese Restaurant menu with a nice handful of specials each time. Were always happy to see (mostly) the same faces working every time. Theyre friendly and efficient without hovering. The bar is FULLY stocked. Everything yummy about this kind of food seems bumbed up a little. Some of our stand- bys include sweet -and- sour prawns, chicken chow mein, and deep fried bean curd with ginger garlic sauce, which has gotten better and crispier ! We always over - order and never regret it ... :))

The service was great! Our server was such a sweetheart and she is the only reason im not leaving a one star review... The chicken was very poor quality. They used can chicken in our kung pow chicken that is easily comparable to cat food. The sesame chicken was really dark meat with lots of fat and gristle. The sauce on the sesame chicken was good, the friend rice was good and the egg roles where kind of bland but not too bad.

Have always loved Peter Chus but recently had their crispy quail (2) and two other dishes that were terrible. The quail was so dry that it was not edible and the other dishes were less than mediocre. Was so disappointed as I had been looking forward to eating there and was a total waste.
I always have my birthday family dinner at Peter Chus. The food is always good and the service is too. I was disappointed not to get to have frog legs but they are so awesome they sold out. Ill be calling ahead of time next year!

Also, the atmosphere is unique and fun, as compared to other places around here.The disadvantage is going across town, but its not that far...its just that everything seems far in Redding...mainly, because it gets so hot.Bottom line: Great food, decent price, cool atmosphere.
Always enjoy going to the skyroom. We ordered the sweet and sour chicken and the shrimp, scallops, chicken and vegetables with the hot garlic ginger sauce. Staff is always attentive and great you with a smile.

We’ve been in twice in the past few months. The first time, we got there 10 minutes before closing time and the doors were locked. We knocked on the door and an older Asian woman came over and rudely told us that they were already closed (really, you think?) and tried to shoo us off before turning around to walk away. We had to persist to just ask if we could maybe place an order for take out since we were there before their posted closing time. She said she’d be right back and would ask her kitchen. She came back moments later and said they already closed the kitchen and it wouldn’t be possible. Again, continuing her completely wrong attitude. We we super patient and nice and we were treated with disrespect the entire time.We just went back this week after calling in an order. When I went to pick up the order, the older Asian woman at the counter gave me no greeting, did not smile, and simple put my check on the counter and stood there. I gave her my card, she turned around to swipe it, turned back around to put the receipt on the counter for me to sign, then turned her back around and that was it. No greeting, not smile, no acknowledgement, no thank you. Just felt like I was a piece of unwelcomed trash. I don’t care how good your food is (and our bbq pork was old, dry and terrible I might add), if you are careless enough as management to put someone like that at the front counter, you’re not going to have anyone but airport customers. But I guess it’s all about the money for these guys. Shame.
An outstanding place to eat. We organize a Chinese News Year Luncheon every year for 30 plus people who have adopted children from Asia. The staff is so kind and helpful, making all of us feel like kings and queens. The food is always very fresh and very good!! Thank You Peter!!
Lovely dinner with lots of food. Upstairs at the airport with big windows to see the action but there is not much action as there are only a couple of flights daily. I remember when there was a lot going on and the big airline jets came and went frequently.my little grandson would have been ecstatic to have seen that. All i all a nice time with those we love and the joy of one more birthday. Happy bday al. My sisters husband and a good guy. We love you al.

I havent been to Redding in about 12 years and this is the one restaurant we had to go to and it did not disappoint. It was every bit as good as I remembered it to be. I cant single out one item as it was all good. If you havent been there yet, what are you reading this for? Get in your car and go!
We get excellent food and alot of it. They remember you if youre going there once OT twice a month. They dont charge for tea a couple of other things. Its a great place to eat.
I was a little skeptical at first being that this restaurant was in the airport. Im glad we went because, it was quite possibly the best Chinese food Ive ever had. Also the cleanest Chinese restaurant. I reccomend the spicy wonton appetizer and the Mongolian lamb.

I find some things there quite delicious, but the dishes Ive had that contain a large amount of vegetables have been grossly overcooked and mushy. I will say their egg rolls and egg drop soup are really yummy.

Waitress came by one time in an hour and then my family watched other tables get there food and even desserts before we got our dinner. When I spoke to staff, they brought us white rice and nothing else. Not acceptable, even spoke to another staff member who bold faced lied about our dinner coming out once again... Will not go back ever!

Peter Chus has the best Chinese food in Redding, hands down. Fast service, great food and stiff cocktails all amount to a great dining experience that doesnt put a strain on your wallet.
Food is good+. Aptmosphere looks nice, but acoustics are poor. Wait staff are slow and have to be chased down to refill glasses.
Probably my favorite restaurant in Redding, Ive been going here since I was a kid, the staff is great the food is pretty and always great. Dont let the somewhat unconventional location fool you this place is a gem.
Probably the best Chinese food in Redding CA. Great drinks from the bar, good customer service. Fun views of the airport runway, family friendly.
Everything has been consistently great with one exception through many visits over the last three years (dry roasted quail-it is not easy to cook this without drying it out)
Food was good, It was a busy night and there was a mishap with a glass of wine, but overall a good experience.

2023-09-22 03:37:57The worst service I have ever received in a very long time. The food was good but this place has sold and the new owner has maid changes that have definitely changed the portions and options. They didn’t refill our drinks or check to make sure we’re okay and didn’t need anything.

2023-10-22 03:57:58The food is great- the service is slightly “off”. We arrived at 7:00 knowing they close at 8:30. We had only been seated for 3 minutes and they asked for our order. Our server was willing to wait and did come back. After our food was delivered We were given about 20 minutes for a table of 5 to finish eating and then the bus staff paced in front of our table like CRAZY to the point that we were so uncomfortable that we didn’t even finish our meals. A little further training might be helpful

2023-07-20 00:48:30Seated promptly on a Saturday evening. Very attentive service. The food was outstanding with the beef Chow Mein being a stand out dish. They brought an extraordinary amount Lemon Chicken to our table. Surprisingly cheap for four complete dinners and drinks.

2021-11-23 20:11:21Great food and fast service. On our second visit we had the Peking duck (must be ordered 4 hours in advance) and it was not only cooked perfectly but beautifully presented. Tasty margaritas, good prices and a nice view too. Scallops are pictured.
