Food is mediocre. Service is bad. We went in and no one said anything to us. No sign to wait or seat yourself. I asked the cashier for a table and he said go to the other side. Found a clean table and sat down. One waiter came by to take our order and walked off since pen was out of ink. A while later another person took our order, we asked about our ice coffee 3x. Came out after our meal. The food was disappointing and not very good.

Elderly server took out the trash and came back to served our food, never wash his hands. His fungal infection thumb which was discolored almost touch the broth when he served our pho to us on the table . We will never come back

Our friends frequent this restaurant & invited us for lunch. The egg rolls are delicious & Pho soup with pig belly meat & #11 Noodles, grilled chicken on a bed of lettuce with a sweet & sour dressing. Busy, busy & popular place to eat lunch.

This location is pretty good but stay clear of their location at Costco. Most of the menu items are pretty true to Vietnamese cuisine and good value as well. The lemongrass beef or shredded pork salad rolls are Fire! Great value too compared other restaurants.

Although the service isn’t the best, the food makes up for it. The bowls are well portioned and you get an abundance of side veggies. Not the best phở I’ve ever had, but one of the best in San Diego for sure. Does get a little crowded sometimes, but most I’ve ever waited was 15 minutes.

I am a fan of Pho for decades. I found the broth here was not light and clear enough for my taste. For a small size, I think the amount of noodle and meats were the same with the large one only it was put in a smaller bowl and that made it your dish looks so crowded and hard to mix without making the broth spilled. They gave you a generous amount of meats but it’s too generous. Everything should be balanced and complimenting each of Pho components, that’s a perfect Pho. This was not the case here for me.For Kids menu-grill chicken, the chicken was hard and lack of juiciness. Seasoning was okay for kids, not too strong.Service? Well, not bad although the one who took our order was like in a rush and lack of friendliness. The one who brought our foods was a cheerful man tho. Full of smile and super friendly.I like how everyone was so comfortable and being in the crowd of a busy Asian restaurant was always a joy for me.

I come here just for the Tau hu ky (shrimp paste wrapped in bean curd). The Pho special is also pretty good. Broth is tasty and the ingredients seem pretty fresh unlike most places, which are stale. The rice plates are awesome and they have pretty good portions of meat. The staff is really nice and friendly too and the inside seems pretty tidy.

The food was very good, but the service was horrible. They were rude to us because they got the order wrong. Told us to pick out what was not supposed to be in my bowl of food that I did not order. They were doing repairs on the ceiling while they had a restaurant full of customers, dust was flying everywhere. We were from out of town. I visit family often and will never return to this place.

Great value for the quantity and quality for the food.Each of our plates were something like 9.75 per person (excluding tax and tip).We got a table at like 8:30 and we were immediately given menus, we placed the order and was able be given our food like 5/10 minutes later.Great food and service, would definitely come back here!

Tried this place 2x. The first time was via Uber Eats and 2nd time in person.Uber Eats: I personally hate ordering Pho to go, but I didnt have a choice since I was really sick. To my surprise, it tasted good for takeout. I ordered Pho Tai Gau (rare steak and brisket) regular size, the Charbroiled Lemon Grass Beef Fresh Spring Rolls and Charbroiled Chicken Spring Rolls. Ordering on Uber eats was a little annoying since it forced me to choose an add on (extra noodles/soup/meat) and I didnt want to, but I really wanted Pho. It was an unnecessary forced upcharge, with no way around it but I sucked it up. The Pho was a solid 3/5 for take out so I was excited to try it in person when I felt better. My partner liked the beef rolls but he didnt like the chicken rolls.Dine in: I finally felt better so I went in person to try it out. This time I ordered the Pho Ca Dao Special (large size) and Charbroiled Pork Spring Rolls. Wow. Blew my mind. It was so good! If you like authentic Pho, this is it (in my opinion). I didnt feel thirsty or get a headache after eating it, which leads me to believe they dont use MSG or use too much salt. Nicely sized portion, I will probably order a regular size next time... The rolls were really good too, one order comes with two rolls so its shareable. Cleanliness 4/5. Food 5/5. Service 5/5. Sat me down immediately. Took my order. Received my food in decent timing, let me enjoy my food and didnt rush me. That is one thing that annoys me, getting my tab before I am done eating, and good thing they didnt cuz I ordered some more rolls to take home to my partner.Bonus: they close at 9pm and they are located in a plaza with a parking lot.

Went through their drive thru 9/20/2022 around 12pm. We got a sandwich, fried rice and pho.When placing the order for the fried rice, we asked for chicken and beef as we usually do at this place. The guy at the drive thru said their fried rice is made with pork, sausage and I don’t know what else. I told him, okay.. so make it with chicken and beef. He said it would be extra.. I said okay that’s fine, i still want it with just chicken and beef? The interaction was just weird and I almost felt like he was implying that they couldn’t make it with just chicken and beef despite me always ordering it this way at this place. He could’ve just said “that’ll be extra for the chicken and beef”, and called it a day.I then ordered my pho. I said I just wanted well done steak.I get to a nearby park where my family would be having lunch, open up my food and see that they’ve given me raw steak. The blood was leaking onto some of my rice noodles since theyre served inside of the same styrofoam plate. Immediately I was grossed out, but the broth that was served in a separate container was still really hot, so I was hoping that the broth would cook the meat enough to make it edible (to me) and that it would get the nastiness of the blood off the rice noodles. The broth did end up somewhat cooking the meat, but not too my liking. I was just really grossed out at that point and I didn’t want to eat raw meat. I also didn’t end up using a portion of my rice noodles because I couldn’t get over the raw meat blood that had dripped on them.I end up going back to the restaurant— the meat and noodles were already in the broth BUT I had literally not eaten any of it so the container was still full. While I was there, I saw that the person assisting me was using their microwave but I didn’t think much of it nor did I think he was using it for my food.I get my food back, go home to eat it and realize that they literally just put my container of broth that already had the meat and noodles inside of it, into the microwave in hopes that the reheated broth would cook the meat some more. They also gave me the same styrofoam back that had the leaky meat blood so I still was unable to use those noodles. GROSS.This has been my family’s go-to takeout restaurant for a while now but if this is how they deal with complaints then we’ll definitely be taking our business elsewhere . Also, your drive thru person sucks. Unprofessional and zero customer service skills.

Looking for a pho in the early early morning:We tried out 3 places, all of them where quite fine on El Cajon - but here the broth was the best.I eat pho on a regular basis: 1-2 per week in Europe. I even startet cooking them on my own for the taste of the broth.*Parking: easy- there is a super market behind, therefore sufficient spaces*service: as soon as we sat, Menue was brought as well as water (cup with lid for the kid).Soup was delivered rapidly, service was awake- refilled water 3 times*Quality: broth has a fresh taste, a lot of star anise. Served hot- spices and herbs came in a sufficient amount.*price: equal and fair as the others, 13 $ for a large one and 12$ for a small one.*hours: it really opens at 7am- we ate at 8:00.After comparing 3 on El Cajon and 5th Ave, my quality „pho“ sensor is totally happy with that broth.So I return right now for another nice breakfast.

I enjoyed the seafood pho and a boba called taro the drink was purple it had the right amount of sweetness. The brown sauce that came with the rolls had peanuts and tasted sweet as for the rolls I personally didnt like it but the person I was with liked them. I believe the cup that has beans and jello was L1 it tasted ok but the big ice was a bother it would be better if they were crushed. But overall a good place there is a restroom for customers.

A friend suggested this place for having amazing pho and she was correct, our dinner was delicious. Food was so good that I went back the next day for lunch! I definitely suggest the egg rolls! 😍 Also, everyone there is extremely nice and thoughtful.

The one in Mira Mesa used to be our go-to place for vermicelli tofu. Their grilled tofu was so tasty. Not sure if all the chain changed recipe or just here, tofu is not grilled. Vermicelli still tastes great. Service is usually quick, and prices are reasonable. Basil smell as you enter the shop is very comforting. They have a new location in Mission Valley, near IKEA/Costco, we will try there next.

The Food is always great. Although the service can be completely rude at times which is why I can honestly give this place 5 stars.The ingredients are always fresh. The service is fast and overall the restaurant is rather clean for a local eatery.I would recommend the small chicken pho or the charbroiled Shirmp Broken Rice. Dont expect American service. The service here is very direct, very fast, no pleasantries. If you want a waiter that will chitchat with you for 5 minutes and ask you if everything is tasting alright, this isnt the place for you. Not all pho ca dao restaurants are created equal but this one gets my 100% approval. Great food, quick service, authentically pleasant staff. Only thing I wish they would keep the place more air conditioned during the hot months/days. Make sure you get ginger sauce and chili order with your pho ! Happy eating

Wow. Fantastic broth at one of the OG locations. Massive portions of oxtail in the pho, wife had bun bo hue, and it brought us straight back to Vietnam. Even the blood cake in the BBQ was delicious. All for such a cheap price ($9 for oxtail pho). Highly recommend!!

Been going to this place for a very long time.Super disappointed in what happened today. I ordered two separate spring rolls, and both of them had long pieces of hair in them and around them. The one I was eating had a hair inside of it, I didn’t notice until I took a bite, and when I noticed it made me sick. I recommend not going here and ordering spring rolls or any of the food ever. Obviously it is not safe and it is not reaching health standards.Extremely disappointed, and the idea that I ate at this place multiple times makes me feel sick to my stomach, just how I felt after eating the food this morning.

Walked in and waited to be seated. Multiple staff members make eye contact with you until one finally points you in the direction of your dirty table. They bring you tap water on ice and take your order. In my case, I might as well have gave my order to another patron because it was forgotten. I figured it was dinner rush and they may be backed up but I was wrong. After 40 minutes I realized that people who arrived after me were being served promptly. When I asked the waiter if there was an issue with my order, he gaslighted me and pretended that he had not taken my order. Mind you, he was the only waiter there. He attempted to retake my order again but I could not stand wasting more time. I went to Pho Boa down the street and will be going there now when I am craving pho.

OMG I was so excited to pick up my Pho, spring rolls, egg rolls..I was going to feast. Also the wife was getting a rice dish. I quickly got home, dropped the food off with the wife and took my demanding pooch for a quick walk. As I prepared to dive into my spring rolls I couldnt find the peanut sauce. Ive been going to the El Cajon Blvd locate since I was in Elementary school. Thats 18 yrs of great food from this location! I have grown up with some of the OG waiters. Had the worst experience today morning. My family and I where enjoying our meal when all of a sudden my son finds a maggot inside his soup. When informing the workers about the incident their answer was it might of had dropped from the ceiling. There was no way it came from the ceiling. They got mad because my son said loudly that he had found a maggot and other customers heard. Please be careful eating here this is the last time I will ever be going in there.

One of the most rudest services I have ever experienced. When I got seated I was only given one menu when I had a party of 3. Then when I went to make my order and I was letting the waitress know what we wanted, she snatched the menu off the table before I was even done ordering And didn’t ask what we wanted to drink. I usually get takeaway pho from here. Its the best pho around here but dining here is a different story. The service here on memorial day was very slow. The waiters were just standing around looking at nothing. Until I turned around to get their attention. The food did come out fast after finally getting our orders taken. My bowl barely had enough broth though. The iced coffee came with more ice than liquid. Other tables around us that arrived later on were just sitting there waiting to order. I will just stick to takeaway or try another location.

My brother in law had to wait a whole hour to get his food after the new server forgot to put the order into the POS. After they got their food we talked to the main guy in the red shirt about any kind of discount based on the long wait time. I will never eat here again, and I SINCERELY HOPE THEY GET SHUT DOWN for the mistreatment that they inflict on other ethnicity of people. I live around the corner from this place and its my go to for quick, fast and yummy Vietnamese food.My honey always gets a big bowl of pho and I always get a broken rice dish. Their spring rolls are delicious. their egg rolls are crispy and fabulous, and the service is always fast and on point.If you have never been here before, I highly recommend you check this place out and if you have been to other Pho Ca Dao restaurants, I can honestly say this is the best one in San Diego County.....much better than the rest.

My wife and I have had a really hard time finding excellent Pho since moving from DC, even in convoy. It just seems like the broth tends to be bland and the portions of meat scarce compared to how much youre paying. On the contrary, the helping was massive with very flavorful broth and fresh sprouts. The price is right too with their self-named Pho Ca Doa bowl running 10.99. We will absolutely be back, service was quick and friendly, and they expedite to go orders.

My favorite pho in SD, service from the older staff is good, I cant say the same for two younger male staff we interacted with. They walked up to our table and switched out my sweet chili sauce for my vermicelli dish without explaining anything, and walked away giggling. When my boyfriend asked one of them why they did that, the guy initially tried to dismiss us and just said No then walked away, we asked him again, then he just said the first sauce they gave me was the wrong one. Fast customer service and I ordered Pho and it was very good. It had a good amount of meet and noodles in it and the stew was so flavorful. Very good costumer service and I missed eating there and I definitely going back.

Phở and cơm tấm are good here. Service as well as other items are not that good. I gave them three stars max because I caught two waiters using the restroom but didnt wash their hands. Yuck!

The go to spot for Pho. Everything taste good the staff is so friendly and accommodating. My family frequents this spot on a normal basis. We have gone to other places and have to say this is one of the better places.

When I describe my pho game I like to say I’m a spoiled brat. And even your beloved PCD, Phuong Trang and Hoa don’t quite stack up to GG, FV and Westminster.PCD has been around forever, it’s an OG Vietnamese place along with Phuong Trang, Hoa so it rightfully should garner your respect. Age has weight in the game. A well build reputation cannot be bought or changed without a conscious effort. It’s not perfect, no one is stating it is, it has shortcomings, but always makes up for it in good food. It’s the only place besides OB Noodle House (phft) that has multiple locations.Personally I hate the parking lot, it’s a mess, needing serious restriping and cleaning. The inside décor is aging and the floors are usually dirty. The tables are clean, they have things thing about their water being full. The slight language barrier is really not that bad, but despite having number tables still bring food to wrong tables. The prices are ok because they give large portions. Their menu’s are aging, but give you a good intro into how to customize your orders. Most places will not offer the lighter stock offering and rightfully so here as their basic broth is a tad on the fattier side. Noodles are fresh, not brick like and the staff does not practice the “thumb in soup” delivery method. They do not skimp on the accoutrements and even offer the somewhat rare sawtooth, saw leaf. It’s expensive as it’s a slow growing herb if used is usually conservative. Their dishes offering plenty of meat, regardless of your order. The tables do not offer fresh chili paste or oil, just sriracha and hoisin. The broth is pretty good both fatty and lighter, though it’s not that super white congealed kind. Combo does not include meat balls.Spring rolls are large, dense and use full strands of noodles which help keep it from breaking apart and collapsing. The peanut dipping sauce is light on the fish sauce and the egg rolls which although are rolled and fried perfectly need some more umph on seasoning.The broken rice dishes are something worth getting even if you are a pho only person. They actually are pretty known for their char broiled chicken (spring roll offering). It’s well marinated and flavorful.It’s a family friendly place which is actually quite loud because of this. Any given time will have 10% or more of parties with kids, so if you need boosters/high chairs ask them first.This is a neighborhood pho place, I think Hoa is just a tad nicer overall.

Foods great if its your first time or your non asian i highly recommend the Pho (very filing beef soup ) or the Bun Thit Nuong ( Vietnamese BBQ) rice is separate order.Service is sometimes slow.

The one on El Cajon Blvd is the best pho restaurant in SD. The broth is rich and tasty. The price is very reasonable. I stop by this place everytime time that I visit SD from the little Saigon in Orange county. By the way, the xe lua size bow Pho is really big. Great value!
