Darn good pho and service! I took myself out to this restaurant around 1pm on a Saturday. I was seated, ordered, and served very promptly. I order a number 2 pho with extra beef tendon and an iced coffee. It hit the spot! The iced coffee is definitely strong, not for those who are sensitive to the taste and effects of coffee. The total bill came out to $22, which is a little expensive for one person. However, it is so worth it, especially if you dont go out to eat pho very often. The quality is fantastic. I did not at all feel rushed or stared at by the servers.

Average or below average pho: vegetables were not fresh. The service was speedy and our food was delivered super fast, however, the quality not quite up to my standards.We also ordered Bahn mi and while the bread was AMAZING, the meat was very fatty and tasted funky.

Without a doubt the best pho in San Diego. Get the #1 with the chili oil. Service is fast and the soup gets out to you within minutes of ordering. Servers are focused on turning tables which is totally fine considering they are serving the broth of the gods! So eat fast and tip fat! Parking is limited during peak hours and street parking around the area is usually congested.

Easily the best pho in san diego. Parking can be brutal.Pho #1: 10/10. The broth is just so good. Plenty of fresh veggies and various meats. I get saute which is chili oil. I like to get another bowl located near the front and put the meat in there for easier dipping. If you get it to go get uncooked noodles and cook it yourself because the noodles will congeal into a blob.Service: 10/10 fast and easy.Atmosphere: 7/10 standard and the parking can suck.Price: $ 13.50 before tip.

Very good, aromatic pho broth! The small was big for me, and the iced coffee tastes like dark chocolate. (Also, it is literally a pho house— there are no other entrees. This place was recommended to me as the best pho in San Diego, which isn’t as blessed with excellent Vietnamese food as El Cahon.)

This is an OG no-frills spot for great Pho. The restaurant doesnt offer much else other than the Pho youre looking for but its worth the trip for the great soup and noodles. We picked up to-go after ordering right in the restaurant and it only took about 10 minutes to get our food and get out. The service was super friendly and although our server struggled a bit with his English we were able to get exactly what we wanted and he was great. Definitely recommended for quick, delicious Pho.

The moment you are seated the server waited for you to order and within 5 mins pho is served. It was one of the quickest pho restaurants I ever been to. However, this restaurant is pho and beverage ONLY so make sure to plan ahead since there are no appetizers (egg-rolls, spring roll and etc) which explains the fast service. Overall, it’s one of the best pho I ever have in San Diego.

I got in and the server was standing at the door, there were plenty of people and plenty of open tables. I sat at a 6seat table with my girlfriend and we were given two menus. It was likes two pages. One was all the different variations of pho, one was drinks. We each order a large bowl and water. Our server noted them and we received accoutrement and the bowls in like 5 minutes. I got the number one with everything and it was delicious. My girlfriend got a number twelve and it was also delicious. I added basil and lime later, she only added basil for so long, then lime and Sriracha later. It was so good we didnt really need anything besides the pure soup. I ate my entire bowl in like another 10m. That Nevers happens. I paid at the desk and got a to go for my girlfriend. It came out to like $30. Beautiful experience 10/10, would recommend. If anyone rates this lower for service, just know they have their priorities in the wrong place.

Most authentic Phớ any San Diego visitor or even local could ever get, I recommend the cafe su dua aka vietnamese coffee with condensed milk with your pho if you want a sweet but potent drink on the side! Food comes out relatively quickly and the food speaks for itself really, phenomenal and genuine vietnamese flavor.

I’ll start from the beginning no parking/no room 2) waiter was rude! Slammed the menu and the plate that has basil and lime 3) took forever to take my order I read a review afterwards that other races are not pretty much welcomed, the guy next to me was treated pleasantly being Vietnamese i ordered my food eventually and had zero flavor I choose this place do to the great reviews big disappointment. The Thai tea tasted funny/weird, they charged over 20 bucks for a beef pho and Thai tea and I normally pay 22 bucks for chicken pho with Thai tea and spring rolls and the flavor, freshness and mannerism is all there I’ll stick to the best pho in my home town. By the way I also got food poisoning. Over priced and no flavor = losing a customer

Best pho in town! I do wish they had slightly later hours, and I wish theyd come around to refill water much more often ( I drink a lot of water and their cups are tiny, usually by the time Im done with my meal my water cup has been empty for 15+ mins), or set up a self serve refill station. Regardless, it is hands-down the best pho broth in town. Highly recommend you occasionally get your bowl with some nuoc beo on the side. Keep in mind you can order small, medium, or large bowls!

If you like Pho, Pho Hoa on El Cajon Blvd is worth trying. If you dont like Pho then pass on this place since the menu is limited. The broth is very tasty and they sell beer as well. I like the amount of meat they provide in an order compared with other places where I have had Pho. The parking near the restaurant is tight since they are now using their parking lot as an outdoor patio area which is good to avoid possibly infecting others with Covid or the flu. I love their broth, it is so good!

Called in an order for pickup. The language barrier made it a lil difficult to know if our order was heard correctly. Not only did we receive our order of two pho bowls and Thai tea exactly as we wanted, but it was ready within 15 minutes. We were happy to see that the restaurant not only provided the usual garnishes, but the bowl the pho in was large enough to pour the delicious broth into. They set you up in a way that you can eat this anywhere. Unlike some other places I’ve been to, you do not need another larger bowl to pour everything into. Enough broth is provided to fill the bowl and then some.The Thai tea is delicious too. It’s concentrated enough where you can add just a smidge of water to give yourself a bigger serving without sacrificing the flavor.

No joke, the servers were all so ambivalent, did not want to serve us, and were almost angry. Not only is this my favorite Pho restaurant in San Diego, it is my favorite in all of the U.S......yes, its that good. This is not a Vietnamese restaurant, this is exclusively a Pho restaurant that serves Pho and Pho only. There are roughly a dozen or so Pho styles from which to choose. All are great but I would recommend the beef with tripe and Tendon (aka Pho #1). The Pho is divine! If all you crave is a bowl of Pho, then your craving will be satisfied here beyond your wildest expectations.

Parking is a joke. But they do have a small lot. The Pho was very good, although the meat slices inside of the soup are super large. The broth was luke warm, which you if the raw meat had to cook it would be very hot. I liked the fact that they wash the side vegetables that go in the soup. Pho Hoa is a San Diego staple in the Vietnamese community. Is the pho authentic? Meh... kinda. You wont find flat freshly made pho noodles here. The broth is heavily seasoned, and the vegetables arent always the freshest in the world.That said tho, lets talk about the 2 things that really matter. First, regardless of the small departure from traditional pho, this pho is amazing. This is the epitome of a working class pho restaurant in HCMC (Saigon) in a neighborhood where people need some good food before, during, or after work. It wasnt designed to be a gourmet experience.Secondly, the atmosphere is very much like eating at a restaurant in Vietnam. If youre American, and youve never been to Vietnam, this place provides an opportunity to see, feel and taste some culture that a gourmet restaurant simply wont offer.My recommendation, get you a #16, unless you like tendon and tripe, (and lets be honest, no one actually does, we all just lie about it.) throw some sriracha, and hoisin sauce in, break up those day only vegetables, order mot ca phe sua da and just enjoy the meal.

Not much to say except that the pho is excellent. The first thing I do when I go out for pho is taste the broth. Although luke warm, it was great on its own and didn’t need any assistance from the usual suspects. However, I can never resist adding tang and spice, which makes it so much fun to eat. The basil wasn’t super fresh as I had to pick out some slimy blackened leaves. All in all, this is a good place to get your pho on.

The soup was semi-cold they brought three water glasses to the table to tell us that they were not going to refill our water cups and they did not we ordered a fork with our meal in even after they delivered our soup we had a hunt down the waiter and get a fork which was dumb the meat in the soup did not fully cook and it was served raw the broth had a good taste but nobody likes cold soup I’m going to the bathroom they do not have any seat covers and the toilet is so close the wall that you can’t use it properly I will not be coming back here because I like hot soup

Solid, straight-forward pho. I found the broth a little too salty for my liking, but with the lime, oyster sauce, and sriracha, I cant complain. I also found the noodles to be a little to tough for my liking. The meat was delicious, there was a lot more fat on the meat than other pho Ive had in the area, which was a big plus. The service is very fast, and the food is reasonably priced.

As some reviewers said, waiters are rude! Food might be good but not worth coming back to. I wanted to sit outside and they not only dismissed the idea but physically brushed me off when I tried to sit at a table that was inconvenient for them. Could be a language issue but not a pleasant experience at all. Also, the cart to clear the dirty plates going around the restaurant is a huge turn off (at least, for me).

The surface and atmosphere is about what you would expect in a house of PHO ... Theyre obviously is somewhat of a language Gap so it is best for you to have a general idea of the Vietnamese menu items to help them help you. The one thing that I did see that could have used improvement was there was a lot of staff around and the tables were getting seated quite quickly and cleaned up just as fast. But it was hard to get their attention if you needed something while eating.

I love this place! The broth is always super flavorful. Noodle are never overcooked. Meats are very tender, even the raw steak. Ask for the garlic chilli and bread. Yum! So good...! This is the very first place i ever tried pho ahout 12 years ago and is still one of my favs besides the one in plaza Blvd. They give plenty of noodles and it just has a little bit of a different flavor that i love. They give a decent amount of meat for the number 1 which is the one with everything and extra largue. I love this place I have been coming here for over 25 years and it is always amazingly delicious. They dont follow what we want. We were taking the kids to the park and we planned to picnic there so we want meat and bean sprouts cooked. Came here for lunch today and had a great experience. The pho was very delicious and rich. They has great customers service skills. High quality Pho!One of, if not my top spot in San Diego for pho. Broth is delicious on its own, the regular size comes with plenty of noodles and meat. In my humble opinion, the best pho in town. Their broth has had me coming back time and time again to their place the last 18 years and counting.

The Pho broth has more flavor than any other Pho resturant Ive been too. This is before the Sriracha and Hoisin Sauce too. They only make Pho so it better have been good. Lol. No spring rolls up in there.

It is an honor to review Pho Hoa. We routinley try new pho places in San Francisco, and nothing comes close. It has accrued a very certain mysticism. They may only do Pho, but that is preferrable because you shouldnt get anything else here.

After a weekend of debauchery, pho was exactly what I needed. Pho Hoa had just that...literally. This place straight up only had pho, no spring rolls, and definitely no rice plates. They only advertise one size, which Im assuming is a regular, but they also have small bowls as well if you ask for it. Im boring and unadventurous with my food, which means I always just order my pho with rare steak but even then, the pho was delicious and hit the spot. There was plenty of meat that came with my order, so much so that I dont think I even finished it all..and I got a small, so Im sure the regular is suuuuper filling and very much worth it. There seems to be a lot of people here at any given time and the parking lot is also terribly cramped but dont let that deter you from coming here. If you just want a simple and cheap bowl of pho with no frills, this is your spot.

This is the pho that I compare all other pho to. I have never had better broth, absolutely amazing. I always get a #17 (rare steak and lean brisket) They also have good thai ice tea

I have been coming here for years. Used to come here with my parents when I was younger. This place is by far the best pho in San Diego. You know a place is good if all they serve is pho and has managed to stay in business for this long.

If you want Pho in San Diego, this is where you go. You dont come here for good service, you come here for delicious soup.Sit down, order a Number One (Large pho with everything) and ask for Satay (cooked chili flakes with oil), I then supplement this with either a Coconut Juice, or a Thai tea.
