My first time there but with Inlaw’s that have been many times. Very good Pho. Of course, we all got #1 pho combo and fresh spring rolls and jook. All very good. Definite recommend. We’ll be back for sure. Note: they used their front limited parking lot for tented outdoor dining. But there is some street parking. Takes credit cards.

This is hands down my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in the entire bay. I love the family friendly environment and how passionate they are about the food! Since Ive been here for the first time almost two years ago, Ive been swearing by them and recommending them to all my friends in and outside of the bay. Seriously check them out!

My personal fave pho on International Blvd. The food here always tastes *and* looks extremely fresh, the broth is flavorful yet delicate, and the noodles are always perfectly done and never clumpy like they’ve been sitting out a little too long. Perhaps the servings here aren’t as large as other spots on the street, but the quality is far far superior and definitely worth it. I always feel better after eating here like I was served food one would serve to their family. Like most pho spots the location is fairly bare bones, but its always clean and comfortable inside. I can’t speak for many of their other menu items outside of my go to order: Dac Biet and Vietnamese iced coffee but I have also tried the spring rolls and beef stew and they are both great.

Nice and quiet. Delicious food with nice polite ladies serving. Lemongrass rice was outstanding,as well as the protein of your choice vermicelli 🥣. Definitely coming back..Oh the spring rolls were absolutely Bangin too!!!!

I am not one to review places, but Pho Vy is simply amazing. Their food is absolutely delicious - from pho to bun, rice plates, banh tam bi, bo kho, drinks, their desserts, you name it. They even have an incredible Vietnamese take on birria tacos that you gotta try. We don’t normally pay much attention to service, but their whole family and their staff makes you feel welcome. Every time I am in Oakland I stop by, and often drive just for them. By far our favorite restaurant!

The worker/owner in this restaurant is cheating customers by overcharging the price of the dishes. We ordered one bowl of veggie noodle for $12.50 with tofu and one fried rice for $13.50. We also asked for plain warm water which is free. The noodle came out without tofu. Then, the worker told us the cost was $32.52. We requested the charge detail. The worker provided us the tape from calculator which saw $3.50 overcharged. We questioned it. The worker said was the tea. We told her it was plain water. She told us to subtract $2. The $50 is the box. We was unhappy for the dishonesty by the worker and the attitude. We advise all the customers will look at the bill before paying it. Don’t let the dishonest people take advance of our trust.The yelp will just post the high rating but not the low one

Sometimes its the little things....Its been 25 mins since we walked out the doors of Pho Au Sen Restaurant down the street to our car to drive over here, sit down, and now were eating. Amazing!From the time we walked in we were warmly greeted, we ordered, and were eating while reviewing. Granted its not as busy as Pho Au Sen today, sometimes just making you feel human matters.We ordered a steak pho, vegetarian pho, and steak and rice dish and I cant wait to finish it!

DO NOT ORDER THE WONTON NOODLE SOUP!!!! My partner and I got food poisoning from this dish last year in July (right before our beach vacation, we both looked 6 months pregnant for a week) and he is very sick again today. I’ve eaten here dozens of times with no issues but something is up with the dumplings for this to happen twice. They were kind enough to refund his order. I’ve had their rare steak PHO no problem many times but we will probably refrain from ordering here again.

Dont let the appearance of the neighborhood deter you from this family run gem of a restaurant. Food is excellent, staff is genuinely nice, they served big portions which i love, a medium pho there is a large at most places. Quality ingredients, packed with flavor, and plenty of non beef, pork, and veg options. Favorite Pho place in Oakland so far!

Good food however the experience is akin to eating in a proper communist country. Order and pay before entering the restaurant? How does one know what to tip for gratuity before any service or food has been eaten or services rendered? I would describe it as a bit cafeteria with zero atmosphere and no condiments on table. I question why anyone would eat here when there are PROPER sit down restaurants nearby in little Saigon unless they were deathly afraid of the CoVAyyyyd nineteeeeen.

With new owners Pho Vy (formally Pho Hiep Hung) has seen a new leaf. Pho broth is delicious, as are their Bun Bo Hue and rice plates. Of course, the new excitement is the Pho Challenge: 5 lbs of pho to chow down under 60 minutes! It comes out to be 2.5 lbs of meat and 2.5 lbs of noodles. At ~$30, it comes out to about 5-6+ LARGE bowls of pho. Definitely come by and give this place a try, if not to attempt the challenge (or in our case, a photo with the giant bowl!).

Heard about this place from ticktock, tried the Vietnamese beef tacos. They we kind of thrown together, in an order of three one had a handful of basil the others had none same with the onions. They came with a plate of pickled veggies which helped the flavor. I would go back and try something else.

I love the people here, and I love the foodI actually wish I knew how awesome this place was when I lived down the street from it some years back.They are very hospitable, and if youre a vegetarian or vegan they have options for you. This is one of the few pho restaurants in the area that Im aware of that accommodates vegans. Nice little plus if you or your date doesnt eat meat.Thank you, Pho Vy!

Authentic, delicious, and i could (and literally have) order 3 orders of their deep fried egg rolls and nothing else and be happy. I would drink the sauce if they let me. All jokes aside if you like fast service and authentic viet cuisine you absolutely need to try them. You will not be disappointed.

This review is way overdue! We have been coming here since we moved into the neighborhood in 2017. This is not your typical pho restaurant. The family that owns this place is phenomenal; they’re very friendly and accommodating. My sister has food allergies and every time we come, they would remember and make sure the meals are prepared correctly so that she doesn’t get sick. The broth is always piping hot, that’s why when I read some previous reviews mentioning that the broth is lukewarm, it bothered me. I believe that pho is made to eat hot, and if you let it sit to “cool” before you eat it, it’s definitely going to be “lukewarm”. We’ve tried their beef stew, BBH, bun Rieu and definitely pho, all of which the flavors are very rich. We’ve also had their rice platters and vermicelli bowl. Meats and veggies are always so fresh. Their dishes are made to order to ensure freshness! We highly recommend Pho Vy to everyone, including those with little ones!!

I live in the neighborhood and have had pho at most of the local spots. I like Pho Vy the best for a few reasons. Their broth is rich and flavorful (obviously the most crucial element in pho), their staff are friendly and courteous, and their noodles are great but they also offer zucchini noodles AKA zoodles (crunchy shredded zucchini in place of noodles) which is a delicious substitute when you’re feeling like a healthier option.

Really good food, and strange options. I do think that the sports bar feel is somewhat off putting, but the staff is really nice and they have a very cool vibe. Food is okay. Customer service is poor and insulting. Came to dine, ordered at the door (due to Covid, the hostess is only taking orders at the front door). I asked for a washroom and I was told they can’t let me go before we pay for the food. I guess the thought was that I’ll just go and never pay for the food, even though i was there with my family. I asked if I look like someone who would just use their washroom and take off. The hostess just shrugged.Once we paid and got the food, I was “allowed” to use the washroom.Like I said, food was okay. I’ll definitely not go there for the service. I’ve been at this restaurant a few times before. This was the last I’ll go. There are other Vietnamese places in this area.

They did a good job in serving good food for a cheaper price than my favorite pho spot. I like the fact that they have a large vegetarian menu and zucchini noodles for vegetarians and vegans. It was fairly clean and put movies on a big TV. Small parking but try going on non rush hours and youll be fine.

My jaw dropped when I tasted the pho. Delicious, quick and really reasonably priced. They have anything youd think of ordering at a Vietnamese restaurant, including a long beverage and drinks section. Definitely coming back to try other things in the menu!Only difficulty is parking, but theres plenty of free street parking on the main and adjacent streets.

Great food in a more traditional setting of Vietnamese food. Came here after trying several Pho places throughout Oakland. I was a little surprised because there were so many options I had never seen before. The waitress was incredibly friendly and helped us make our selections. One thing I would say is that the Large size is WAY too big for most people. The Medium is the default and if youre like me and DONT like a strong roasted garlic flavor ask them to hold it. In my case I dont usually like heavy garlic in my Pho so it wasnt as enjoyable as I would have liked. Also rumor has it theres a Pho Challenge where you eat 5 Large Bowls and get a shirt and a free meal. All in all would come here again but hold the garlic.

This is a great family owned restaurant with great pho. I also ordered their spring rolls which comes with four pieces and a generous serving of a creamy well made peanut sauce. The pho is outstanding. Broth is tasty and their toppings have great flavor.The place is a typical hole in the wall Vietnamese restaurant that may not look pretty on the inside or outside but cooks delicious quality food. I have loved Pho since being introduced to the noodle soup 15 years ago by my deceased colleage. Living in San Jose back then, we had great Pho in both San Jose and Milpitas but since moving to Oakland it has been a struggle to find good Pho anywhere close until now. This place is best so far. The wait staff are excellent, polite and accommodating. Good service always sets the tone for us. Even great food cannot erase bad service so we are delighted we found this restaurant, both the service and Pho was excellent, great broth, substantial portions of meat and fresh condiments.

Dont order the vietnamese ice coffee unless you want a 12oz cup filled with ice and they dont fill up with coffee to the top. Basically a 8-9oz drink...one or two sips and $ gone. Its a clear rip off and last time I asked for them for light ice and fill it up to the top they double charged me. A baby can literally finish this drink in a sip. As if the cup isnt small already...Very petty what a shame.

Our go to for pho, bun, and stir fry. Everything is delicious and the family who run the restaurant treat you, well, like family. Extensive menu: both traditional beef and chicken pho with severalnoodle choices (including zoodles); great appetizers; and vermicelli and rice plates if youre not in the mood for soup. Got to try the porridge on cold nights! Theyre also diehard warriors fans, and if theres a game itll be on the big screen. Love this place.

This last visit by far was the worst. Ive been here before but this last time was a joke. My kids and I waited for over 20 minutes for our food and they werent even busy. When I finally confronted them with this (apparently they thought it was ok for me and my kids to just sit there while they served everyone else around us even though they came in after us), the server said he will check on my order. Finally, he said my order took so long because I ordered stir fry. I told them that my kids ordered pho and he said that they were waiting to bring everything out together. Are you kidding me? I told him next time they decided to take this long, let me know and I will take my business elsewhere. I ordered the vegetarian chow mein. When it finally came out, the food was cold, the noodles were way too salty, and the vegetables were bland. It was obvious that they stir fried the two items separately than tossed them together. Pho ga tasted funny; not a fan of the toasted garlic shaving garnish. My pho tai chin was a bit bland, but the meat was good quality. It was an odd hour to visit (7pm-ish) so its lack of flavor might have been due to the start of a new stock. Nice that they are open late. Its changed ownership August 2016 formerly Pho Hiep Hung to Pho Vy Vietnamese Cuisine. Their sign outside and their menus still have the old name. But my credit card charge bears the name change partially.I had their Bun Cha HaNoi before, marinated grilled pork patties vermicelli lettuce wraps. This time there it was grilled pork, grilled pork patties, and pork cake. They had changed chef in the kitchen.
