Mixed experiences dining in here. The first time I went, I got the lemongrass chicken and egg rolls. Both were tasty and of good value. My second time here, I decided to try a soup and opted for the pho combo. While the taste was decent, the meat to noodle ratio was way off with only a small portion of meat but more noodles than I could comfortably finish. Also, the fried onions as a garnish gave the pho a strange taste, and Im not really a fan. Better to stick with the standard raw veggies that come with the pho.Service is efficient, and staff are nice, but the place can get quite loud during dinner rush. It was difficult to carry on a conversation over the noise. I would come back here, preferably on a weekend, but would avoid the soup dishes.

There are many Pho spots in Irvine so it’s hard to pick which one to go to, but I come to this one a lot. Really good food and great portion sizes. It’s definitely more traditional and I love that they have a patio area you can sit outside and bring the dog. I normally come here for lunch and it never takes long to get your food. Definitely worth a try if you’ve got that craving.

My BBG took me to this new place. It was so delicious. Very flavorful 😋. The lemonade was amazing ❤️. While we were there, another customer was across from us that was so loud the entire time. The staff was not as friendly.

Almost crazy fast service and FABULOUS Pho. For those new to Pho- you can’t go wrong with a rice noodle bowl! This restaurant is family friendly and there are pictures of many food options in the menu, which I’m always super thankful for. I highly recommend trying a bubble tea while you’re there- mango with tapioca is my personal fav! The best part of bubble tea is that it can be an appetizer, beverage, or dessert!

A little hard to believe it can be voted best in OC register when there are abundance of goos Vietnamese food in Little Saigon. I had to try. My verdict on the lemongrass chicken vermicelli dish is just passable. The sauce and chicken lack the flavour. This traditional dish would normally have roasted peanuts and lots of fresh herbs to top it off. This place didn’t do that. Conclusion, if you like Vietnamese food - you have to venture to Bolsa ave in Westminster area where there are many choices to be had and at better prices too.

My favorite pho spot in OC. I have been coming here for 21 years (since I was 4) and this is by far my favorite style of pho. What an amazing broth and the noodles are also great.The staff are always friendly and gosh those egg rolls are yummy too! Be sure to ask for more lime and chili pepper if you want!

Don’t be surprised if you’ll be served last if you’re not Vietnamese. I ordered some vegetarian raps and have been waiting for it 30 min. I asked the lady that was taking my order how long is was going to take to prepare vegetarian raps, and she told me that it should take up to 15 minutes. They were not that busy, only 2 tables busy to be exact. After waiting 15 min, I asked to check on my order. While waiting for my order, a few more customers came in and were seated. After 25 min of waiting I noticed that the customers that came in are already being served. I asked another server to check on my order, and someone else brought me to go order that wasn’t mine. 30 min later the lady went back to the kitchen, and came back with a smile on her face telling me that they have started to wrap the veggie raps I ordered. I got up and asked for a refund, the lady said not to worry, they’ll refund me.

This is one of the best Pho Ive had. I ordered the regular bowl to go and its quite a big bowl. The price is a bit high, but it all has to do with the location. It gets very busy and loud at lunch, but the food was delicious.

Great SoCal weather so make use of the outdoor tables! Unfortunately the waiters are too lazy to take orders outside so need to order inside. Food is decent for the most part, a little on the small side, compared to other phone areas. The phone soup does have decent flavor. They dont give much veggies but does refill vegi upon request without attitude. For a weekday lunch parking spot, try to get here before 1130!

I ordered a small well done tendon with brisket and it was average with a tad too much noodles for my liking.Our biggest disappointment was it’s a restaurant and we ate at the restaurant but they gave us little plastic cup to hold hoisin sauce and a pair of disposable chops. What happened to serving your customers with real pair of chopsticks and real little small bowls to hold condiment sauces especially we eat in at the restaurant?

I have had a ton of Pho and took my Vietnamese friend here...it was not very good, portion was small, and not a clean or sanitary restaurant. Tables were dirty, service was not friendly...I was really bummed out the experience wasnt even average. But, like my Vietnamese friend said...most customers here are Chinese, not Vietnamese, so they dont know good Pho and because there are so few choices in the area they can get away with being subpar.

This review is from my experience I had a few months ago.Very good restaurant to satisfy the pho craving we all get as the weather starts to cool down. Due to the current situation, they are now offering indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is shared with the other eateries in the plaza. We ordered the veggie pho and the special pho. The broth was delicious; very flavorful, rich and clear. We appreciated the fact that they used good quality noodles, they didnt disintegrate as they cooked in the broth. My husband was very impressed with the different cuts of meat the pho had.We will be definitely be coming back soon to try the other items in their extensive menu.

It was at 430pm on Tuesday 09/28/2021. Ordered #20 large and #20 medium for my girlfriend and 4 spring rolls (Im a weightlifter and had a lot of room in my stomach)!The rolls came out in an instant which were delicious and good. The noodles came out a few minutes after. It was only until at the end of our grand feast that we had realized the #20 medium was the wrong order - the meat was well done, NOT rare; there was NO tendon; and there was NO tripe, as mentioned in the menu.Did they leave out the portions of tripe and tendon from Medium sized bowls? I dont know, but after mentioning this to the guy working there (57 Vietnamese chubby guy in his 20s or 30s with thick English accent) stood there awkwardly and murmured sorry and proceeded his business as if nothing happened.Food was average, service was decent. There are far better places for Vietnamese pho than this place in the area. Try Westminster.As for me, I wouldnt be coming back to this place NOT due to getting our orders wrong but because, like others have said, its overpriced for the quality. Pho Ba Co knows that Irvine residents have cash, and theyll do anything to take advantage of that due to fewer competition by using the cheapest ingredients available. Big disrespect to Irvine. I recommend driving a bit north up to Westminster to get the real taste of pho.Thank you!

Crowded, but the line moves reasonably well. The pho is very good here; reminds me of the kind you can get in the South Bay. Noodles were a bit soft, but well-portioned. Parking can be a bit challenging here, so allot some time if going at regular meal times. Family friendly, and outdoor seating is available.

My boyfriend and I have been here a few times now and this has become our pho spot in Irvine. The service is always friendly and attentive. Their broth is pretty good and the portions are great. The noodles stick together quite a bit though. Overall a good experience. An added plus is that its right down the street from his new house. We will definitely keep going here.

I dont get the hype. The pho broth was quite beefy and heavy and not fragrant at all. There also wasnt enough of it...? The bowls were quite light on the broth which was odd. The noodles were average and the meat wasnt super plentiful. The service was fine but overall we felt that the meal was really overpriced ($9.5 for a regular!) and not worth it.

For what it’s worth in the Irvine area, it is very good. I’ve been frequenting this restaurant since no other surrounding Vietnamese pho compares. Plus they serve COM TAM dishes which I love! They use garlic rice too.My boyfriend and I enjoy their EGG ROLLS and they can come with extra herbs and lettuce to complete each bite.I usually opt for their PHO DAC BIET. Always plentiful and never short on the variety of meats they place in their bowls. The boyfriend loves VERMICELLI noodles so their BUN TOM THIT NUONG CHA GIO is his favorite. We love their fish sauce too!Yes, it’s expensive but you’re paying for the convenience and less aggressive competition of Vietnamese restaurants in South OC. Their food is tasty and the community has kept them at this location for many years. I’ve been coming here since my undergrad days a decade ago and since my recent move back to Irvine, the quality and service still sustained.They’re also very good with their delivery service app partners. We order from DoorDash all the time for pick up!

I am Vietnamese and this is the best Pho around. It is always crowded, and the service is great. The atmosphere is lively, which makes a big difference compared to other pho restaurants I have been to. What I really like about this ppace is that all of their food is good, even though they specialize in Pho. Reasonably priced, too. This place is better than most pho restaurants, even Little Saigon.

This is the best place to eat phó! They are fast and friendly. They will serve your food in no time. They have a lot of choices. Spring rolls are super fresh and tasty. Egg rolls taste really good and crispy. They are not oily even though they are deep fried. They also have charboiled meats like pork and chicken which are really good and tasty! They really cooked them well that they are not dry and not salty. The clear broth phó tastes really really good. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. This is my go to when I want some phó.

Ive been here many times over the years, even before the expansion into the former optometrist (correct me if Im wrong) and before Layer Cake was even there. I like the pho ga (chicken) tai (rare steak) and the pho tenderloin special which comes with a spring roll, two egg rolls, noodles, and the cooked steak. The egg rolls are especially amazing, theyre more slender so there is a better crunch to filling ratio. The menu is large enough and everything will find something they like. I miss the melamine boats some of the rice entrées came in, but doing that in 2021 would be incredibly passé so props to Pho Ba Co for keeping up.

All look but no substance. We ordered rice and pho to go. The soup tasted like something pre-packed from super market. The vegetables were not steamed according to order. The fish sauce with the rice were sour. The avocado smoothie tasted like wrong, it was as if they used old avocado. Weve been going to this place since it opened (12yrs I think). Now were taking our kids and they love it. They love it so much they ask for it by name. One of a few restaurants that they ask for. Food is delicious and fresh. I judge a Vietnamese restaurant by two things, the pho (obviously) and the rice dishes. The pho has an excellent, rich flavor with a lot of depth. The rice dishes are just as good. Meat is always cooked tender and seasoned appropriately. The one thing I dont like are the spring rolls. The pork is boiled so it has a rather bland taste...but thats what brodard is for.

Pho is outstanding except the pho noodle which is different from Vietnamese pho. Pho broth is similar to Saigon pho. But the beef quality is much much better than pho in Vietnam.Fried tofu is normal.Nice service. Reasonable low price.Definitely I will go to this restaurant again.

Hmm.. Am I eating at the same place that everyone wrote great reviews for? Wow I dont want write a bad review but I must. I first tried this place maybe about 3 years ago and being pho deprived this place was excellent. I have eaten at Pho places with no other Pho places within 100 miles and those places are MUCH BETTER than Pho Bac.I order my usual combination Pho Large. I get a bowl the size of a bowl I use at home for eating 10 cent Top Ramen. It came with about 2 or 3 pieces of meat. I was thinking no way! Maybe the quality will make this 7 or 8 dollar pho worth it. The soup tasted like can soup and the noodles didnt taste like normal pho noodles. Yuck. I tried saving the taste by adding tons of hot sauce and small side vegs they include. This was the first time going to a Pho place where I didnt see any Vietnamese people workers or customers. That is a bad sign.After paying 8 bucks for a large snack. I dont believe I will return. For the rest of the reviews please write more! There are tons of great pho places in Lake Forest or other areas near by. NOT Recommended.

Pho broth is underwhelming, I asked for candle to get rid of the fly that was flying around our table. The fact is the worker do not clean the overall restaurant, the restroom is filthy and the restaurants floor was just full of crumbs of stuffs from the table clean-up. Im not a huge vietnamese food fan but my wife loves Pho so we gave Pho Ba Co a try. My wife got the pho and I got the pan fried beef tenderloin chow mein. My wife loved her pho and gave it a 9/10 and my dish was amazing. The beef was perfectly cooked and tender, the vegetables and noodles were great and the sauce was super flavorful with tons of garlic. Pho Ba Co is now one of our go-to restaurants.

Im an obsessive liker, meaning--when I like something, I get obsessive about it. I like a song? Listen to it on repeat for three weeks in a row. I like a food? Eat it nearly every meal of the day, or in Pho Ba Cos case, eat it nearly every day. I discovered this restaurant only a few days ago and I ate there twice that same day: lunch and dinner. And then I ate there subsequently four days in a row for lunch. The only reason I wont be eating there tomorrow is because Ill be way up north at Venice Beach. The only reason its not 5 stars is bc Im not sure how to interact with the restaurant staff. They dont readily come by to check on you and Im not sure if youre supposed to ring the bell, BUT if you catch their eye and signal a hand motion that you need something, theyre very prompt.

My irvine local friends took me here for a quick late bite. why do all the pho places (and i guess places in general) close at 9pm? even on fri/sat?!? you businesses should consider extending your hours and you would make even more $$. we came right before 9 and they allowed us to order for a quick sit down meal -- and right before closing it was still pretty packed.the pho is good and comes out lightning fast as is typical (matter of minutes). i got the rare beef with the meat on the side --the way to go if you dont like your meat getting well done. i was pleased with the portion, taste of broth, and everything else about it. we also got an order of egg rolls which were also tasty. ive never experienced it before, but i guess you are served them with extra things to turn them into a bit of a lettuce wrap. new to me and i enjoyed a lot!unique factor: the service call button at each table. never seen that before; what a great idea!

In my quest to find the best pho in Orange County Im revisiting some local favorites. Local as in 15 minutes or less from my work.I actually found Pho Ba Co a few years ago on the hunt for ramen within this same radius. I saw the $10 bowl a few doors down and pretty much turned around when the Tonkatsu was extra and the things I wanted would bring my total to $15 for just the ramen. Walking away, shaking my head in disbelieve I stumbled upon another, different golden brothd palace of equal stature in my eyes. Some pho places dont like to have their pho specifically to go and the reason is covering pho will spoil the broth.Protip: let it cool uncovered to room temp, then place in refrigerator.Unlike most they nicely separate everything here, but dont particularly like the raw thinly sliced beef in a baggie when ordering to go. I do like their baggie having everything you need, just not the right proportions. Barely any hot sauce, or hoisin.Spring rolls are a little basic and the dipping sauce is a little weak, not impressed. Egg rolls, overcooked and not packed tightly enough, fell apart (not enough egg).The pho broth was a little oily, middle of the road in terms of clarity, but lacked the complexity. Maybe hit it with the double spice bag. Something that I found when I let cool and stored was the amount of fat, definitely not skimmed after paraboiling. I think I mask it with the loads of spice and hoisin and other thingsService is good, but all in all I like the overall experience of Pho So 1 in terms of my lunch radius for pho. Its a large location, hidden and doesnt stand out next to other ho hum shops, its certainly expanded due to the split bathrooms and décor. No thumb in soup bowl.Vermicelli noodles were fresh, but not tossed for my to go order, rice is sometimes undercooked and not quite as broken as Id like, again I tend to overspice as a counter measure. I do really like their chicken, charred to perfection, well marinated. The beef BBQ is really good cut and flavor. Cheap drinks.

Got a large bowl of pho with extra noodles and one of their speciality boba drinks. All in all pretty good for about $15 before tip. The music here is the kind of faux epic ballads you come to expect from karaoke bars is southeast Asia. The service is not the greatest. If you want to ask for napkins, refill water or get the check, do so well before you need to. There will be a wait.Mid-level quality place to visit on your lunch break. I even come here sometimes on my days off. Its basic pho and it is delicious. Family atmosphere in a strip mall.

Ive had a lot of Phõ in my life but this place...has some of the best. I mean there is a big difference between any other and Phõ Ba Cos . Its nice savory, got the right amount of seasonings. You can also say the same things about the rest of their food. I especially love their BBQ chicken with yellow rice. I dont know about you but I love it with fish sauce. They also got really good boba!I really like their avocado boba it may not sound like something that would not taste very good but would way further from the truth.
