I love their grilled marinated chicken strips Spring Rolls!1 order comes with 2 of them and is large in size, it also comes with a side of peanut sauce which has real peanuts for crunch!I also ordered 2 orders of fried egg rolls they were crispy with a good quantity of fresh lettuce pickled carrots and tangy dipping sauce.Both rolls were delicious and not expensive.

Great pho :) I got the beef stew pho and it tasted amazing. It looks spicy but I promise that it had little to no spice and its more flavorful. I will be coming back for more in the future!

Food was not good did not seem fresh probably reheated meat and shrimp on my meal.I probably ordered the wrong thing. Everyone around me was eating pho and seem to be enjoying it. The servers were very matter-of-fact didn’t seem to have time to be polite which is fine. Just bring me some decent food that’s not overly cooked and dry. Thank you. I am not from this area so I won’t be back anytime soon.

I just read that there is smoking in the restraint which I believe is illegal. Which makes me wonder whats done out of sight. Sounds like maybe the changed management when we went we felt we were impossing them with our order, which they didnt get right. When we brought it to their attention the server threw his arms up in the air as to say, get out . Obviously we left. We had eaten there before and it had been so much betterWe had even taken our out of town guests to eat their. Never again.

Everything was so good that we ordered. I was not disappointed. It was fresh and it came out fast. The broth was sooooo delicious in my soup. I was so satisfied. The egg rolls were crispy and the sauce to dip it in had a amazing flavor. The customer service was great and he was so helpful on what to order when I had questions. I will definitely be returning with family and friends.

My new favorite spot for Asian cuisine! The service is excellent from the moment you enter the restaurant. The gentleman that took our order was very kind and came by several times after our meal was served to make sure we were happy with our meal. The food was AMAZING. My husband was so happy with his sweet & sour pork and my dish was steamed rice with broccoli and garlic sauce, exactly what my taste buds were craving! Im only sorry we waited so long to visit!

Some of the most delicious pho I’ve tried. My partner gets the well done beef flank pho and I get the shrimp pho. We also love their shrimp spring rolls and egg rolls. Amazing place, 10/10 recommend

Im updating my review. Sadly enough this place satisfies by pho craving. And even sadder is this place is the best place to go for Vietnamese restaurant. Its obvious this place changed owner. I can tell from the quality of the pho. Its more of the quantity. I ordered small #2 and I definitely got small. The old owners werent that stingy. Also, the laminated menu for the drink (see photo) shows a photo of the drinks with numbers shown but NOTHING shows what the drinks are. Will we return, unfortunately cause they are the best in town, unless you drive to Pleasanton, CA, the nearest place to good pho. And even though they have a sign that shows American Express, they said I couldn’t pay our meal with it. The Amex sign was for the car wash but they had NO SIGN stating that Amex was for carwash. 😡Service: BQuality: CPrice: $ and starting to go $$

I remember the first time we ordered from this noodle house. The conversation went something like the following.I feel like some pho.Ah man. I dont really feel like that tonight.If I dont get pho tonight Im going to hire a hit man to chop you up in little pieces and feed you to the goldfish. This was followed by The Look.Yes dear.It was that night I learned that my wife was a closet pho junkie. These are the things you learn in a marriage after 10 years. I have accepted my wife for who she is and she has promised to stop hiding pho around the house. Also, the kids and I have have discovered the Chow Fun is amazing.

This place is Home base. So many memories with the kids and friends from the block. I love #17. Lately, the entire town has notice less items in the soups?Less core items. Less sprouts and what ever that minty green plant is.Seriously; I have not had the flu or a cold after I started eating here in 2007. This place is preventive care for all kinds of viral bugs. (IMO)Just, getting close to all noodles and liquid.P.S. Watch the guys if they detail your car! They tend to use the same rag they did the outside of the car with...inside, leaving yuckyness on leather and wood trims.A friendly request not to do so, takes care of the issue. Nice hard working staff, so be respectful. No scratches on car...nice.

I called in to order and wasnt expecting to pay $30+ (forgot the exact) for 2 large phos.Phoenix DT is good and Sai Gon on Oakdale. They are always good to my little 6 year old. Best shakes. Best pho. My son loves the small size rare steak noodle soup...thats how I order it. Once got beef stew but it was still gooood. Horrible experience. Try anywhere else! Been trying to find a good Phö restaurant that serves proper Vietnamese egg rolls with lettuce, mint, and sweet chili sauce. Fort sooner reason, Modesto had a death of good Vietnamese egg rolls. They said they served then that way, took my order, and so I drove 25 minutes to get them. When I arrived, they told Mee they didnt have them. No explanation. No discount. No kinds of customer service to make up for the hour of my time because of their incompetence. Go elsewhere.

If you want good food with bad service then this is the place to be. Went in with my toddler and child (5 years), received a “welcome” at the front door. Finally picked a table, literally got my menu, and the guy server comes and say “you ready?” I asked him for a few minutes, (being our first time there). Second server comes back 5 minutes after first server and ask, “you ready?” I finally got irritated and said sure. Ordered food and drinks. The server brought our food and drinks puts the HOT pho in front of my TODDLER- No common sense there. Before we can barely finish our food, the server brought us our tab. I figure they just wanted us out and about, because other guests that was there and had no kids, they were just sitting and chit-chatting. So I packed the remaining food to go, while I help feed my toddler (16 months old). Never have I ever been in a restaurant, with servers wanting to kick us out. Mind you, my kids DID NOT leave a mess, I made sure of that. Food was really good, service sucks!

This place has excellent food, and that is what it is all about !!!i go in with an unusual order, i dont like to eat carbohydrates so i ask them to take out the rice noodles (first time, he was looking at me like what are you doing?)anyways, i add vegetables to replace the noodles (carrots, cauliflower, celery) and get a side order of meatballs ... its amazing ;)i also cannot resist the fried shrimp appetizer, they are a.m.a.z.i.n.g. ... especially with a ton of sriracha, and yes somehow i find room and eat it all.... and yes, the broth is excellent :)

Ive been going here for years, their pho has always been good but today I ordered grilled chicken plate (they use the same chicken smothered in oil that they use for vermicelli) and it tastes like **OLD, RANCID CHICKEN**. I told the lady at the register that the chicken wasnt any good and she suddenly pretended to not understand what I was saying. I never asked for a discount or to not pay for my food but they got aggressive and didnt say theyd fix it, me being **PREGNANT** got really upset. How can they risk their clients getting **Food poisoning** Especially a pregnant lady.** NEVER RETURNING**

We ate lunch at Pho Bac Noodle Palace today. We started with Shrimp Spring Rolls that tasted great with peanut satay sauce. The Beef tenderloin and meatball pho tasted great and I am really glad I did not order the large: the medium was too much to finish. My sister ordered a tofu vegetable over rice that needed more flavor but that might be her fault. She asked the waiter to ensure it was not too spicy.Very good service, and very nice people..

After reading a bunch of reviews talking this place up, I decided to give it a shot. Had seen mention of the car wash thing, wasnt surprised by that but overall was a very awkward experience. Walked in, and the guy working there (which wasnt obvious at first as he was eating before he got up to Seat me) started making jokes off the bat. After picking a table to sit at, I looked over the menu and ordered my pho. Then I was asked to move to a smaller individual table so they could have staff lunch where I was sitting. Not a big deal, I know how it is but it was a little awkward. Also didnt see any bathroom there which was weird. Pho wasnt terrible though, but Ive definitely had better.

Food is good. The service and people working here are horable. I placed a phone order was told 25 min. I was there in 20min and told it wasnt ready. Ok. I paid and waited another 45 min to get my food.Yes it was busy in side but everyone had their food already. The lady infront of me waited 45 min for soup. At the 40 min mark i asked for a refund and was told it was being put in the togo containers. I got my food 15 min later. Got home and guess what. It was cold!!. Tasted ok after the microwave!

Bad food, bad service-they were argumentative and confrontational. Weve been coming to Pho Bac in Modesto for the past 18 years, but I will never come here again. My husband ordered Mongolian Beef and the meat was rancid. I went to check out. I told the cashier that I will pay for everything except for the Mongolian Beef. She said that I ordered it, so I have to pay. I said that I wasnt going to pay for bad food. She threatened to call the police. I told her go right ahead. The police came and tried to reason with her. I have never had this kind of treatment before. I will never be going back again.

Generally a big fan of their Pho but last 2 visits our orders were entirely messed up w/no apology. Usually flavorful broth, great noodle consistency, and XLg bowl availability. Its surprising that after so many visits and always the same order that we would be forced to try something new! 1st mess up my hsbd hardly complained and was willing to try the bowl filled w/tripe, fish balls, and other unknown objects. After the 2nd visit and no apology for the mistake we opted to walk out of what was once sadly a favorite spot for Pho. I could not stomach some of the objects floating around in my soup and were made to feel like we were a nuisance for complaining. We felt forced to walk out for fear of retaliation just asking for correct soup order. Originally one of our favorite Pho spots but w/others to choose from that include great food and respectable service we will no longer visit establishment. Additionally, older waiter conveys eerie vibe as he blatantly stares while you eat. Once, told us several times in the same visit that my hsbd and I should sit across from each other rather than side by side. Apparently this bothered him so much he made the excuse that we could see each other better while we talked. What?! Dictating now what we eat and how we sit is not acceptable

My favorite place to eat Pho. I do wish meat ball came with each bowl they offer but it doesnt so I usually get 13 cant go wrong with rare steak and meat ball. Ive only tried a few things aside from pho on the menu but that is very seldom so Ill keep my review to the pho. It is very good, the broth seems fresh and if you dont add hoisin or sriracha it will stay an almost clear very light brown color which is good in pho broth. If its not from one of my extended family members this is currently the only place I go for pho, because after eating it for nearly 20yrs you know if you find one thats good you stay there because of how often you can be dissatisfied in the valley with bad pho.

RUN AWAY! HORRIBLE SERVICE! I went on Sunday afternoon 4/24/16, it was slow. I ordered 2 soups and after seeing me sitting there for 25 minutes they realized that they completely forgot my order! The man at the counter (thin w/mole & mustache) blamed the woman in the kitchen, the woman blamed him. They told me they would get right on it. Five minute, ok Ten minutes later mustache man brings me a desert drink, green melon icee type with whip cream for the mistake. One of the more expensive Pho places in Modesto. However, they make the pho noodle in this city. The pho soup has flavor and is very tasty.At times, they may take a little longer to bring out your food. This restaurant also has a car wash service, so essentially you could get your car wash at the same time while enjoying a bowl of pho.Overall, I recommend this place!
