Fantastic service. Our waitress was fast, so so kind. We had never had pho before and were excited to try. We got the lemon grass beef pho, the brisket pho, and a Bahn mi sandwich. The broth of the pho was so incredibly flavorful. Rich, hearty, hot. It soaked into the noodles perfectly. The meat was tender and juicy.The real star of the show was the Bahn mi sandwich. Ill go back just for that. It came with broth to dip it in and honest to God, its probably my favorite food on this planet now. The portion was huge, the side vegetables fresh and crisp. I highly recommend putting the cold cucumbers in the sandwich. It gives it such dimensional flavor.The restaurant was clean, no sticky tables or torn up seating. No straw wrappers or forgotten veggies under tables. Diverse patrons, ranging from laborers on their lunch breaks, to families with small kids and babies, elderly groups and couples.Seating is plentiful, options for both booths and tables available. Window seating was prime. Inside temperature was nice and cool, clearly air conditioned, a welcome change to the heat outside.Workers were prompt in service. Waters and drinks always topped, check-ins minimal, but not too infrequent. Staff seamed happy to be at work. When the food was brought out, each dish with its garnished acknowledged and explained if we had a question.Parking was plentiful. Large parking lot, restaurant location in an accessible, easy location to spot with nice bright lettering. Building well maintained and clean.10/10. This restaurant gets a perfect score from me.

If you ever told yourself that one person could not make a difference, think again.We have been dining at Pho Ca Dao for DECADES. We have popped in for a bowl of chicken pho after a mountain-bike ride on the nearby Stowe Trail. We have brought lots and lots of friends to enjoy a nice dinner. We have eaten there on holidays. Its been very special. The food is wonderful. I love the pork chop with broken rice.But everything changed last week.We were hungry after enjoying the Santee summer concert. Pho Ca Dao closes at 9PM. We entered the establishment at 8:40 PM. An employee we had encountered a week or so ago said Were closed! This guy had been extremely grumpy and resentful when he waited on us last week. We thought maybe he was having a bad day.No. Hes just someone who should not be a service employee.His bad day continued as the manager said we could come in. So we came in, sat down, ordered fast, as it was evident that the staff wanted to finish their day. I ordered a three-bean drink to go.The surly server stood off to the side of our table bussing other tables and banging dishes and utensils into a container on his cart. It was extremely uncomfortable for everybody there to enjoy a meal.My three-bean drink never arrived. When I asked about it, a female server wearing a mask rolled her eyes at me.No customer should ever have to feel bad about spending money in an establishment. And I said this very thing to the manager as we paid and left. Knowing that after MANY years of dining there and bringing MANY friends, that would be the last time we would step foot in there, just because of that one guy who could not contain his anger at us, some of the people who provide $$ to pay his paycheck.Pho Ca Dao, what I would say to you now is that if you are so hellbent on leaving before closing hour of 9PM, then make your closing hour 8:30PM. As I left, I warned the manager that I would be writing this review. The idea that resentful employees might have been spitting into our food clinches our decision to never return. At least until Surly Server has vacated the building for good.ADDENDUM: In less than 24 hours, the owner rectified the situation and we will happily be heading back to our favorite Pho restaurant soon!ANOTHER ADDENDUM as of 7-29-2022: We returned last night with two guests from LA. This time we arrived around 8:20 PM. Our friends did not want to stay and dine because they could sense antipathy from some members of the staff. So we went next door for Sushi and a bowl of Udon noodles at Takka Sushi.The food at Pho Ca Dao is wonderful, the service fast, but at the moment there is a dearth of good service employees who are happy with their employment. Its difficult to feel comfortable at a dining establishment where the staff are shooting daggers at you from their eyes, and if given the chance, would most likely spit into your soup or something worse.

Fabulous food and service! There isnt anything on the menu that we havent loved, and thats saying something for a family of 6. Great place to take the entire family. Food comes out fast and hot every time! Of all of the pho places weve tried, this is our favorite. The food is delicious and the prices are great!

Time to update my review.Wow! We went today remembering how good the food was and it sure wasnt the case! They must have new owners because instead of getting seated we got dirty looks from the staff as if we were supposed to know what to do after we first walked in. It was really awkward, even my daughter was uncomfortable.When we got our bowls there was no space for the noodles to expand since they changed the type/size of the bowl; let alone have any juice and only 2 pieces of meat. It had no flavor, as if it was only oiled noodle juice.During our lunch not two words were said to us, not hello or goodbye. They just seated us and I even had to hunt down the waiter to give us our check. I found him outside of the restaurant, sitting on the cement bench counting his tips.All I can say is we wont be back.A Little Spot In SanteeThis place is right on the corner of a small strip mall. It gives good portion sizes, and extremely quick and good food service. Weve become regulars. The parking can be a little troublesome, because its in a small strip mall. But, otherwise, dont hesitate to try a meal.

I really enjoy coming to Pho Ca Dao & Grill here in Santee. I really enjoy getting the bbq pork banh mi it comes with a side of meatball soup and it’s delicious. I like their steak banh mi sandwiches that also comes with a side of meatball soup! They have the best Vietnamese Iced coffee I have ever tried in my life. Every time I come here I am greeted warmly by everyone who works here. I also have tried the taro milk tea with boba and it is the best milk tea in Santee. This restaurant is family owned and operated and they do an amazing job every time to make you feel welcomed like you are family. It’s a beautiful restaurant with excellent ambiance and they open at 9am daily which is awesome!!! This is my go to spot for local Vietnamese eats. Thank you Pho Ca Dao & Grill-Santee I will be back very soon!

They changed their menu a little but the food is still very good. Anytime I felt I needed a refill on my water the wait staff was there to refill it. I love fresh spring rolls and this place never disappoints! My husband got the Thai Milk Tea and it was also fantastic. Highly recommend for anyone wanting healthy filling meals.

I loved this place! Pho broth is amazing with great flavor! They PACK noodles in your pho and add a really good amount of meat too which is awesome. Ive been noticing a lot of pho restaurants are limiting their meat and noodle intake per bowl and prices are going up. Not this place! Plenty of noodles and meat in a regular bowl! 🍜 Also they have a cute little robot guy who brings your food on trays. Servers were all kind and friendly as well. Definitely coming back.

Always a great place to have pho. I love their P18, egg rolls and spring rolls. These are always a must have items.12-7-21: Wow, they are two Robot servers.5-31-22: The wait time for a table at night seems to get longer and longer. Today, it seems chaotic with the staff working on different tasks that nothing was getting done. There were constant spills on the floor. And there were abundant amount of open tables and dirty tables, but, no one was cleaning and preparing the dirty tables to sit the awaiting dinners.

So this place is actually pretty great, in addition to being an air-conditioned restaurant which is not super common with some of the Vietnamese restaurants, the service is actually pretty quick and the prices are very good. I only gave four stars instead of five because if you order something to go it can be a little bit of a nightmare...

First time here I ordered the beef spring rolls and seafood pho. Both were delicious and the service was fast even on a busy night. Its a great value for your money and if you can’t eat large portions of food, then just get a large pho bowl and split it. The small bowl with a spring roll was more than enough food to fill me up. I highly recommend the Thai tea or the Taro milk tea (w/o ice)they both come with boba if ordered.

Anyone that has read my reviews know i am all about service. That being said, the staff there has the personality of a box of rocks. No smile, no eye contact. We were greeted with ready to order? By a young man who seemed like he couldnt be bothered. Another young lady came to take our order, same thing. Check was dropped with same attitude by another young lady, picked payment up, and again, no smile, eye contact, thank you...nothing. server never checked back during dinner and my wife had to get up and get a togo container.We had to ask for utensils to eat our pho as we are not good with soup and chopsticks.We left with no thank you, come again, nothing. And i noticed the same level of service at other tables. My sons birthday and he picked this place. Disappointed to say the least.There are many other places to spend $100.Food was good but this place needs to step up their game. Service is the best way to keep your customers coming back.

This is my favorite restaurant ever, I have been going here since probably 2018, and have never been disappointed. Food is incredible and always fresh. Service is almost perfect, with polite waiters/waitresses, and the prices are fair. I have always loved going here and go at least 2 times a month. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves to eat.

I was seated and not approached by any staff. It was not busy, maybe 5 tables being helped. After 15 minutes of staff walking past me, I simply stood up and left. Was quoted 20 min for a to go order. It ended up being an hour. When my husband brought the food home, the hot portion of the meal was cold. So about an hour wait for cold greasy tofu and egg roll. Won’t be back. If the restaurant is too busy to take new orders just let the customer know and I would have respected that. Now we won’t go back ever.

Updated from 5 stars (6 years ago)I’ve been coming here since they opened. Previously I would have given them 5 stars, but in the last year I haven’t had a single good experience at this location. The last time I was here we ordered egg rolls with our meal, they never came. We received our pho, asked about the egg rolls and were told 10 min, we watched multiple tables that arrived after us receive their egg rolls, we asked about it again and were again told 10 min. 45 min after ordering we finally had the egg rolls removed from our receipt, paid, and left. We’ve also “had the pleasure” of listening to explicit Eminem music over the in house speakers. Don’t get me wrong, I love Eminem, but a sit down restaurant is Not the appropriate place for it. I’m not sure why the original Vietnamese music was replaced to begin with, it was one of the things we loved about coming here. Same with the service, there were employees who knew us by site, knew our orders, always had a smile - now the employees change every time I walk in, it’s like they can’t keep anyone to stay anymore. Judging by all the reviews I’ve read, this isn’t something new, a lot of people are upset and have been for a while... I hate seeing this place go downhill…

I used to really like this place, used to have great service, prices, and food. Im not sure if its changed ownership or theyre just having trouble with personnel, but now the service is the worst Ive experienced anywhere. We will unlikely go back after tonight. We werent even served water until half way through our meal. Really sad to see this restaurant decline because their food is really good and the old staff was so nice and attentive.

Update to my last poor review. Service still poor and slow. New year, same issues.Edit 10 min later - I gave this place two stars, but honestly I’m going to give it a one. If you want to support business but have the expectation that they’ll take your time seriously and they value you as a customer. Don’t go here. There’s other pho areas within 4 minutes away with comparable, if not better, quality food. With way better service. This has been a long issue with this restaurant and the only thing they’ve made an effort to change and is putting grass wallpaper up. Stay away.

Holy WOW, they were BUSY tonight. Like insanely busy. Super shout out to everyone keeping their cool and doing their best with a wild workload of sit down and to-go orders. Everything was delicious, as always. Worth the wait. Front counter staff were great and someone they were calling Bo probably needs a raise and a vacation, he is a BEAST. What a hard worker. As a longtime patron of Pho Ca Dao Santee, I am disheartened to leave this review.I am giving 3 stars because our food was delicious, though my most recent experience was 2 at best. I will additionally note that I am part of a family in the food industry and aware of restaurant operations that influence this review.We were seated in an appropriate amount of time (within 5-10min considering it was busy). Upon being seated at a booth up front by the new counter top, we were left for 25min waiting for our order to be taken although 80% of tables were already enjoying their meals. We were about to leave get up and leave had the server not come over. In addition, no waters were offered until after our order was taken. There was only 1 individual taking orders for what seemed to be the entire restaurant! Even though I counted at least 2 other employees who at various moments I caught not doing anything productive.Our order came out in a timely fashion once placed with our server. And tasted great per usual.When offered refills on waters my cup was only given 1/4 cup of a refill. Server did not come back to complete the refill.I did have to wave down a female employee to get our check and some to go boxes. I did not catch her name but was also a saving grace for our overall experience. Very nice, great costumer service. This individual also seemed to be manning the to go orders, which I noticed were busy as well.Overall, I am sad to see that since making improvements to the restaurant the service has gone downhill. On other visits when it is not busy, service is equally lack luster.

I love this place. The food is fantastic and never disappoints. Recently I ordered takeout that took almost an hour to receive. I am still unsure as to why, the restaurant wasn’t full and customers dining in were receiving their orders with no issues. I watched multiple grub hub drivers have to cancel their ordered because their pickups were not ready after 30 minutes. Others who had placed takeout orders ended up canceling theirs as well due to the wait time. Incredibly disappointing and lack of communication made the experience very frustrating as they wouldn’t give me updates on time. I don’t mind waiting but I like to know how long it’ll be.

Honestly I’m DONE with this place I feel at some point it was good. But now in days you not only get HORRIBLE service but now you get smaller abs wise portions with an hour wait time to boot. Not sure if veteran employees left or new management but this place is a shallow distant imitation of what it used to be. If my gf requests this restaurant, I’d counter with the microwaveable pho you can buy at Walmart for $3.99.It’ll be faster and equal quality.Owner, check your ratings, your recent ones. Something is going horribly wrong and you need to figure it out.

The food tastes good, but the wait-staff is especially disorganized lately, and I wouldnt advise asking for extra meat in your Pho. They have wheeled-robots that sometimes cart food from the kitchen to your table. I get the sense that adoption of this automation is negatively affecting staff morale. Probably better for take-out, than dine-in.

Used to be a great spot. Food is always good. Service sucks. Last two times I’ve been there they have been rude. Asked for more sprouts (I always ask) for my soup. Didn’t show up so asked again. Took at least 5 min fir them to bring it. Looked like he was upset that I asked. And def upset when he brought it. The rolls I ordered never showed up. I told him I never got them. He still didn’t bring them. But they were on the bill. So had ti get somebody ti translate we never received them. I’m not going back. I’ll find another spot

Food is good, however the service has to be the worst I’ve ever experienced. It’s not 100% their fault because they are clearly understaffed, but their energy & attitudes don’t make up for it what so ever. Ordered our drinks after sitting for 15 min with nothing, didn’t get them & 20 min have passed. Ended up telling them it’s okay we don’t want them. Never got some of the food I ordered. You can’t tell who the server is because everyone runs around & goes up to you only when you flag them down. It’s a shame because service makes the restaurant industry … you can be busy & successful but you’re destroying it by the service your employees are giving because nothing is organized what so ever. Probably won’t be back, it’s honestly not worth the wait & frustration . & this is not the 1st time, it’s been the last 4 or so times . Hopefully they get more employees & organize the place more.

Maybe we didnt go at the right time so my experience could of been different. Food was amazing and affordable. They have little robots that bring the food to the table to make is easier on the staff.Unfortunately slow service.One of the kids I had with me spilled her water and it took about 20 minutes for someone to mop the area. When we were ready to pay the bill took a while for someone to come to the table and take the debit cards. We decided to walk to the bar area to pay and that tool some time too.

The food is AMAZING! Theres no doubts that its delicious. But unfortunately in my past few visits the service has been horrible. I dont know the name of the person who was attending but he was extremely rude. He threw the menus on the table and was hurrying us to order and seem to get frustrated with us. And each time we would ask for something it would take forever! We Asked for extra broth and it took about 30 minutes to get it! But their kind host who wasnt even serving had to attend us. When we got our bill he just threw on the table. The worse part is the we received this kind of service every time Ive been there. Im not the type of person to complain but this was too much. But I hope that if you go you receive better service. Overall good is amazing but service is horrible.

I unfortunately have to give a 3 star being the service continues to get worse everytime I go and a few rude staff members when seated and waiting to be served. I understand when putting in an order to go while it is very busy at certain times of day and times giving are estimates but don’t say you’ll call me when it’s ready and not do it. All the soups taste like pho, I feel because of the demographics of the area not a lot of effort is being put into it. Just every experience here disappoints.

We went in and the guy took our orders right away, Us three order same foods Pho, 30 mins later the lady walked by and asked us if we order our foods yet.....? Of course we said yes. 25 mins later she came and ask us are we sure cause it not in the system that we order foods?????? Really it took another 25 mins just to let us kno it not in the system after you asking us the 1st time ? How long does it take to get a bowl of noodle soup anyway....? Def aint 45 mins ! I ordered salt and pepper chicken wings and the oxtail and filet mingon pho I called my order in waited over the 20 minutes to come pick it up, once I got there it was crowded and extremely busy ! I paid for my food and then damn near waited another 30 minutes to receive my food. Thought because it took so long itd be fresh right, NO! My chicken wings were cold like they had been sitting waiting barely any toppings and there was a lol note written on the Styrofoam saying sorry in Vietnamese (I googled the translation) the Pho was mediocre nothing to call home to mama about! Their servings are pretty decent and its pretty okay. We like eating Pho, and we usually order large. But compare to other Pho places that weve been to, their bowls are way smaller and it doesnt seem like you ordered a large bowl. Also, you can count how much meat they put into your Pho. It would really be more appreciated if they add more if an individual ordered a large. I have not seen their regular bowls, but I cannot imagine how much food is in it. We also ordered some chicken wings, I believe it was the fish sauce flavored ones, and meh, it wasnt the greatest, but it was okay.One thing that I like about this place would be the robot that would take your order from the front desk to your table. I think that deserves a high-five. It reminds me of the ones in Japan. But other than that, I would give this place a three (3) star out of five (5). Well go here again and try it again, and maybe on our next visit, itll change and Ill make an update on my review.

Best pho in Santee! Service is a little slow and once you get your food you are not checked on to see if you need anything or another beverage. We usually get take out so we were not prepared for the slow service.

Quality is suspect. The super dark egg rolls indicate that the oil hasnt been changed in a while, some of the leaves on the garnishing were wilted, and the soup spoon was dirty. Staff didnt know the WiFi password either.

Food oder to go took a long while but food is quite good. One staff, who may be the owner/manager, is SUPER AWESOME in her service, but 2 others range from poor to super poor. The online ordering feature allows me to make an order, charges my card for the order and THEN says the restaurant is “offline” or not taking online orders. The restaurant was short-staffed with only two cashiers running the register, taking payments, delivering orders for pick up, serving tables and who knows what else. Always was generous with my tips and recommended this place to locals. However, today I tried to call in my order and was on hold for an extremely long time. I called around 8:25. It seemed busy so I was patient and stayed on hold. Then the call disconnected on their end. I tried calling back multiple times and when I finally got through and said I want to make my order I told the man on the phone that I’ve been on hold for over 15 minutes but before I even finished my sentence he said “we’re closed thank you” and hung up! I called back again and was told by the woman who put my on hold before “sorry it was busy. I am so sorry to say that I got food poisoning from this place. The service was adequate, the restaurant is highly rated (4.4 on Google, 4 stars on Yelp), the food tasted fine enough in the moment. We always head to this place for a good Vietnamese Pho as its good & reasonably priced. Its very clean, & the staff is very gracious & accommodating. Because of Covid restrictions, we opted to eat at their nicely set up outdoor seating. Got my Spicy Beef Soup, wc I always order, the Noodles were not fresh, as they were breaking apart, as you pick it up from the bowl. Fresh Noodle is soft & pliable, this one was hard & old tasting. The Beef was so tough, I could not chew it, spit most of it out. My Husbands Seafood Soup was the same, old noodles, tough, chewy shrimp, etc. The Pho soup is a salty and fewer meat in it than in past trips here. Maybe a new cook? I can always add more salt to it at the table just to let the cook know. I still enjoy the Salad Rolls & Egg Rolls and those are pretty consistent as far as flavor & portions, theyve cut back in Lettuce & side greens, & the side veggies were wilted, & old. We understood how difficult it is for the restaurant business now, however, when you serve sub-par quality of your product, you are taking a big risk on losing more business, as your regular customers will be disappointed & go somewhere else. We believe its just an Off day for the cook, and possibly give them another try in future, as they are good, hardworking people.

Busy Thursday, ordered pork rice dishes. Wife gave it a 3. Mine was lemon grass pork.Half the pork was bone on mine, but the flavor and cooking was good. Almost full house while there but service was decent.2nd visit, Lemon grass pork again and the bone to meat ratio was 15/85. Much better. Wife said 5 this time. Busy right to closing on a Friday night.

If I could give zero stars I would. Let me first start of by saying that I have gone here for years and have only had the issue of not receiving extra hoisen sauce when specifically asking for it. That is until last night. About half way through my bowl of pho I had a weird texture in my mouth and spit out my food. Upon spitting it out I realized what it was.... it was a cockroach! Needless to say my appetite was ruined and all of my families meals were thrown into the trash.

I love their broken rice dishes here. My favorite one is the grilled beef. If you want to try all types of broken rice dish for a good price is to create your own dish. Its only 8.99 and you can select up to 3 things they have.

This is our favorite pho in the area. The prices are cheap and its almost ridiculous to not get the large bowl as its not even $1 more. The service has always been a little slow and iffy and more often then not, we have to specifically request refills and have to remind them of forgotten sides and such, but the quality of the food is there and make up for it. My kids love it, too, and their kids menu is a nice addition that we havent seen in any other pho restaurant.

Its just below average for me from what I had. I had the V5 on the menu. 2 small egg rolls cut into 6 pieces. Very low portion of pork was given (like 8 small pieces). Mostly just noodles and a salad with burnt tasting peanuts on top. Wouldnt suggest order the V5 on the menu. Try the pho only. Its good according to my friends opinion.

The beef pho is always on point at Pho Ca Dao Santee! It is always very tasty, beefy, fulfilling, and satisfying. I usually get P1, which is the extra large with all the variety of beef cuts included, with extra noodles. They give you a lot of meat and noodles for a great price. The eggrolls are also good. Staff is courteous and attentive.
