VIETNAM 🇻🇳Eat the World LA review:Like many of the restaurants I visited during fantastic annual trips to Los Angeles for the past four years, Pho Filet 2 happened because of a simple recommendation from Jonathan Gold, a man I obviously did not know but miss so much. He described the pho bac here as ...quieter, less dependent on the flavors of caramelization, and uncluttered by the half-dozen meats common in southern-style pho.°Phở bắc is the phở of the north, usually served with wider noodles and less adornment as noted. A decent plate of greens comes with the soup that already has plenty of onion and cilantro. That caramelization Mr. Gold talks about means the broth is less sweet than you find with Saigon-style phở.
They open at 9am, lots of options in their menu. The soup base for pho is a bit too salty for my taste. They do speak Cantonese, a bit of English and Vietnamese. Notice several elderly Chinese patrons request the fresh bean sprouts to be boiled to remove the greenery taste. We prefer to eat the bean sprout as it is without boiling. Many people came in to order take out or pick up orders. Service is OK, there is a small parking lot.
This place’s broth is rather disappointing as it is severely lacking flavor compared to other Pho places such as New Noodle City in Valley, Alhambra or many restaurants in the Westminster area down in Orange county.The servings are smaller too with the price point being the same as the places mentioned above.The service is poor as well as when nicely we told our waiter that he got one of our orders wrong, he acted very blatantly annoyed at us. Would have given this place a 3/5 if it wasn’t due to this.
Food is amazing, one of the best Vietnamese Restaurant in the hood.

This restaurant has no shame at all. The guy is asking for tip as we get seated. Not wearing any protective around the mouth and talking while bringing the bowl of noodles. No manners at all. The restaurant is so dirty and customer service is the worst. Don’t even want to taste what kind of food they serve. So disgusting!Edit: after reading some other reviews, I was doubting the guy asking for tip might be the owner of the restaurant, he’s the one by the counter.
Beware! Their sketchy business practice leads to double-tipping.They tell you amount to pay but do not want to give you the receipt. If you notice something wrong and ask for the receipt, you will see that theyve already included 15%, and then ask for additional tip.Why be sneaky about it?!?Check similar comments on yelp.
Good affordable pho without the high class pretense.
All food very authentic, BEST Vietnamese food in town. Next best is to go to Little Saigon in O.C. Any pho bowl or beef stew is a must! And add a soda si mui... excellant!

Pho is very good, meat quality is good and plenty. Im not a big eater but I still think theres not enough noodles. But for the price, its still worth it. Definitely will go back to try something else.
The service and their social distancing rules are practical. Menu choices are pretty good. They do carry some good side dishes to try. The pho is good, soup base is pretty standard.
Not organized, when you come in at rush hour, you may wait at your table forever before they bring you the menu. Other thing is you may have to share the table with strangers. They get an A at the door but they never clean the table well. I saw the lady poured customers left over tea on the table then wiped it with the towel to clean the table. Pho was ok. I would give them 3.7 star but I cant make a selection, so Ill give them 4 star.
They have a little outdoor patio set up in the parking lot for distanced eating. Lady was very nice. Pho filet was very tender. $1 more for large bowl! Unfortunately its all single-use disposable dish and servingware; you can save the landfill trash by BYO utensils.

Authentic Pho. I had the number 20 with an additional side of brisket for only $2. Nice portion.I am on like my 5th day of eating keto. A friend of brought me here Who has had the weight loss surgery that I am looking forward to getting in a few months.I did not even miss ordering it with no noodles. It was really well flavored. Hardy... I really enjoyed it and I will definitely be going back.I also appreciated that they use good quality chopsticks. Went to a place not too long ago that had really good food but scrimpped on the chopsticks and it was kind of disappointing now in comparison.
Absolutely love this place. An extra large pho (it’s really just two sizes) is 8.50 and it’s got a lot of meat. Most restaurants I’ve been to don’t have a whole lot of meat and charge similarly or more. I prefer more noodles with my pho but still, very very satisfying.
Stopped by for lunch…I went to the counter to pay after my dining-in order…I think it was the owner guy, he didn’t ask anything but literally tossed the change in front of my face… can’t even hand it over. Pho is not that good… what a stereotype that make Asians look bad… cannot even do customer services… Not coming back or recommending anyone…
This place is alway make good beef pho soup and alway my x-large bowl. Whenever I dinning with my friend. The rice dish combo one of the best too. That I alway order take out. The management and the servers is alway so friendly nice with a great greeting too. The food is alway fresh and smell of that bowl beef pho soup. The meat is just ready to eat. Someone please turn on the AC in there...I was not expecting it to be as hot as it was.Besides it being hot and stuffy inside, this was maybe my second time here. During this visit, my party all ordered their pho. My go to order for pho is plain Pho Tai, but when I arrived, everyone else already ordered so I felt kind of pressured to hurry up, so I ended up getting Pho Tai, Ve - filet rare steak and well-done flank. Just barely an upgrade from my usual.I got the small size and it was perfect for me. The broth had a solid flavor and I thought it was interesting that they had some type of oil or whatever it was to add to your soup. Of course it was optionally, but Ive never seen that at a pho place before. My brother suggested we add it to our broth as it makes it a bit buttery. I dont know if I added enough because I didnt taste too much of a difference, but maybe Ill try adding more next time.

Best Pho? N O no, man! Worst Pho experience so far. If you order the small one, and thinking you can at least feel like you eat something. Youre wrong and you barely gonna have any foods going into your stomach! The small one from others in the area are like the big one here, and its mostly soup in the bowl here in this Pho restaurant!
After having multiple people recommend this place to me, I decided to try it. Suffice to say, I wasnt impressed.I ordered the large pho special (Dac Biet) which came out to be $9.00 (after tax and tip, it turned out to be around $11). When the food arrived, it looked great. I proceeded to add the usual fixtures: Thai basil, mint leaves, lemon, and bean sprouts. I stirred everything and took a bite. It didnt match the expectation.The broth wasnt that flavorful -- Ive had better in Westminster/Garden Grove and my usual place in Alhambra. Dont get me wrong. It had flavor, but it wasnt anything extraordinary or even great. It was average. As for the noodles, even after taking the time to add the fixtures, they were still slightly hard -- even harder than al dente pasta. It wasnt until the middle of my meal when it softened to the point where I enjoyed it. The meat was the only redeeming factor, but it still had its flaws. All of the meats that I had were tender and tasted good. The problem that I had with the meats was that I had a LOT of fat on my meats. Personally, I prefer meat rather than fat (and I am not talking about tendon either), so that definitely made me a bit upset.Aside from the food, the restaurant is your typical Vietnamese establishment. Overall, I would say this is an average place. If I didnt have better quality pho growing up, I would probably give this place a 4. However, since I have access to a better pho place right next to me and grew up with the dish since I was a child, Ive been exposed to better places and I just cant give this place a better rating.
Broth is great and they put a ton of meat. This is our go to spot when we want pho. Definitely a diamond in the rough. Great food at a cheap price.
Pho Filet 2 is a great place for pho and other ideas that you’re looking for they have a lot of options for you to pick if you’re not looking for pho. I highly recommend to bring cash because they don’t accept card from the last time I remember.
I almost always come to pho filet when Ive got a craving for those delicious noodles. Have yet to find a place that compares, besides the other locations.The pho is always top notch, with large portions. They dont skimp out on meat at all, Im usually left with extra meat with everything else gone. Definitely happy with it.
Pho Filet is one of those vietnamese restaurants that is always reliable. No matter what you order you receive plentiful portions. Service is also at least average if not better since they have more workers than your typical viet restaurant. Plus points for not feeling extremely dirty like other restaurants.
This is where the local, the true Vietnamese, go to get their food. The food is very authentic. And before Covid,this place was hard to get into. Now the setting area is outside and you order and pay before getting the food. It’s still good.

Its your average hole in the wall with decent pho. Do not recommend the nem nuong, its not right.Parking can be tight, but theres residential around the corner if you need to park on the street.

My favorite pho shop in the LA area. Plenty of meat and the soup is always piping hot!I like getting a large pho and a vermicelli bowl and splitting it with my mom. You usually get tired of eating a full bowl but half of each is perfect!
Good place for pho in the SGV. I have not been to many pho places in this area, but the pho here is very comparable to pho found at restaurants in OC. The broth is clear and flavorful, but it can be a bit more hot. The meat was tender. Pho here is served with all of the herbs that usually accompany pho (some places do not serve all of these herbs). Customer service is typical of other Asian restaurants. Overall a good place for a nice bowl of pho

I was craving for pho and came here. I expected a little more fresh ingredient and ended up not liking the way they tasted. They were suppose to open at 10 on a sunday even though the servers were still there but didnt open the doors until i called them up. Smh

Food is very good. Theyvserve traditional Vietnamese food. anything from pho to rice to fried catfish to some ethnic Vietnamese foods. Just the whole nine yards. The place is packed with people. That tell you how well they are doing. The only thing is you get your usual Asian services. I believe this is the 2nd location for them. Their other location is in So. El Monte. When foods are good, the word get out fast. Go try it for yourself.

I was served a bowl that included the leanest piece of meat Ive never seen such a large slice of meat in my life here or at any pho place. It took me five minutes to eat the slice. Finally, I gave up, rolled it into a ball with my tongue and then swallowed it without chewing.Interior: 2 / 5 the furniture is old. I would recommend replacing it but that may result them in buying lower quality furniture. I got really sick eating their tendons in the pho. Took me 16 hours pain to recovered. I never in my life suffered food poisoning from Pho. Being busy doesnt excuse bad food handling.
This place worse than the 1st one. First, the rsn out spoons throughout the restaurant, we have to wait for 10 mins so thwy wash some and they brings 2-4 spoons per table. Second, their Bun Rieu is not as its supposed to be. Another word, sux. And third, their service is not good. I wont be going back to this place.

The family meal we ordered was jusy perfect for us which consist of the sweet and sour hot pot, pork in salted caramrlized sauce and shrimp pork salad. The avocado shake was also superb. To top it off, the staff are nice and the service is very fast.

Many people don’t know about their family combination special which I usually order here: catfish soup, braised catfish, Vietnamese salad, deep fried shrimps, and fried fish, all for $45!! Unbelievable price considering after the pandemic. I highly recommend this restaurant and the family combination specials.Van, service staff, was friendly and attentive to our needs and refill our ice teas. Van’s service to customers with a smile, more appreciated and rare. 2023-06-20 20:36:13I ordered a pho filet rare steak for pick up. Tell me why I got ground beef??? Never has that happen anywhere I always have ordered exactly that and never have got any ground beef. Broth was good tho its exactly what I needed right now that Im sick but just disappointed I didnt get the meat I wanted.

I ask multiple times for tea and they didnt serve it until I got frustrated. Pho is okay but not returning 😔

The vegetables, the noodles, down to the shrimp was so fresh. The Boba milk tea tasted heavenly. I cannot say anything negative about this restaurant. The service was immaculate. Every server was extremely friendly, willing to help at any moment. The atmosphere was great too. The place was also extremely clean. Thank you Pho Filet 2.i wish this business nothing but success.

2019-11-09 04:53:56To be fair, Im not a pho fan. However, Ive been sick, so a hearty pho is appealing. Its the only place I know that offers small bowl. I still enjoy it. I ordered #15.
