This place only accept cash and dont have an ATM service inside. You have to go to a nearby Mexican store to get cash! The lady who seated us was rude and lacked customer service skills. I believe its because its a family business, so she doesnt care much. The food was okay, but the vegetables that came with the Pho had dirt on them. Overall, I dont recommend this place. The way they serve coffee is unpleasantly yuck!!!! No lid!!!!Take a look at the picture!!!

Walked and stumbled upon this place, and their broth is sufficient & manageable. My stomach agrees with this bowl of yummy broth. Also tried Vietnamese coffee, cheers!!

Was enjoying the food here for the past six months UNTIL they I was asked to pay a second time as they said they added the meal up wrong. They ended up charging me for two large plates when I originally ordered and ultimately received two small plates. When I asked why I was up-charged, they said “it was an old price”. This is false advertising and predatory pricing.

Not recommended. The server never smiled, my food was cold, and my egg rolls tasted funny. The chicken soup and fresh spring rolls we ordered had pork in it. As mentioned in other reviews, they only accept cash. I wouldnt wish this place on my worst enemy.....unless my worst enemy likes cold funny smelling food and bad service...then I would send him somewhere else as I wouldnt want him to get what he wants.

Came here to eat with my parents but I had my dog with me. They were very accommodating to set up a make shift table to let me sit outside and eat with my dog while my parents ate inside. The food was very good! I had the bun thit nong which is a grill pork and vermicelli dish. My parents both had the pho. I heard its very delicious. Ill have to try it next time!

I came to ask a question, they said: one? And I was like.. I want to ask something, I dont want to eat. One of the people in charge started making signs of leave and, disappointed. So if you are not eating there, it seems they treat you bad.

The broth of the Pho is the best I ate in SD. It is comparable to my Moms cooking. I havent found anything like this before. Thank you for the favorable dish. Also, the Vietnamese coffee is also on point. True french style.

I been noticing that they give me different prices all the time now which makes me dought on going their since I order the same thing all the time. Besides that food is good but not all people have a good attitude at work.And I asked for a the a Tai tea this is what I got for $5 the sizes are getting smaller and prices more high it was smaller than a can of soda.

This cash only restaurant has been my go-to for years. The broth of the pho is delicious and its consistent. The egg rolls came out with lettuce and mint leaves (Id never had that), its very yummy. Vietnamese iced coffee is so delicious. The meatballs in the pho are so tasty. Not all the staff are perfectly fluent in English and Ive had a few mix ups, but they rectified them without issue.

Been eating there for years and the food is dang good every time. Sometimes come here with relatives. Their pho broth is quite unique, the flavor is a little muted and there’s a certifiable aftertaste only found here. Not bad by any means.

Thier pho broth used to be better. The service is decent. The eggrolls taste ok, but you can tell theyre not fresh. They dont have fried rice. Thier rice plates are ok. Thier bun bo hue is pretty decent. Dining area is on the smaller side and cleanliness is fair. This place is cash only.

They are cleaning in the afternoon when I walked in, they are blocking the entrance, all chairs were up on the tables, not a welcoming atmosphere.The pho soup was heavily laced with MSG, it tasted flat and caused me extreme thirst !They used powder and MSG for soup.Avoid this place if you are allergic to MSG.

DO NOT ODER FOOD FROM HERE.My husband and I went to had dinner at this place. We ordered spring rolls, it came out cold! Beef pho, the broth is also cold!At the same night he had really bad diarrhea and still continuing for almost 2 weeks.He went to ER 3 times and the third time he went, doctor said he had a blood infection from the diarrhea. WORST FOOD HE EVER HAD IN HIS LIFE.

It is an anomaly that this restaurant has such high ratings as it lured me into this place to try it with my girlfriend. The food itself is acceptable enough, but what I cant wrap my head around is how uninviting and just straight up weird the customer service is.A few things stood out: Their lack of any enthusiasm aside, they sort of just sit there and watch you eat when they arent actively working. Its kind of weird. They also seemed frustrated that even though my girlfriend and I ordered appetizers, we only ordered one bowl to split. The part that sort of makes me never want to come back here is when it came time to pay she sort of glanced over our order and just told me a number. It felt so arbitrary and felt like a tad much for what was ordered, but they made me walk to an ATM to get cash because they didnt accept card that by this point I was done, handed her what she asked for, and left to never come back.I almost forgot to leave this review, but the experience left such a bad taste in my mouth that I had to come back and write this so you can go somewhere else. Thank me later.

The meat smells really weird. The quality of the pork is not to be desired. I came here while waiting for my herbs to be ready next door. Wish I didn’t come. The worst i could not finish. The smell turned me off.I left all the meat.

They have AC that the never use on hot days and when you eat Pho or Bun bo hue which warms you up your sweating and cant enjoy. Cash only to save them a few dollars so you think they would offer a more comfortable atmosphere. Quality especially on pork chop plate can differ alot on their choice of meat used.(not porkchop) most of time but cheap boney blade pork.

Came here for an early dinner on a Monday. Its a little hole in the wall.We had egg rolls for appetizers, which only came in 5 (instead of the usual 6).I ordered the Bun Bo Hue which was really good. They give you a lot of meat and a lot of veggies, unlike some other pho restaurants. The broth was good but it couldve used a little more depth.My husband ordered a rice dish, but it didnt come with a knife to cut the pork. They were quick to provide one when we asked for it.Overall, we enjoyed our food here.

Best Pho in SD IMO. I had the one w all the meats, their specialty and was very impressed by the quality. Very casual setting so u can go in shorts n flip flops. I hear its got a big following and it is def worth it!!

Best Vietnamese food Ive had in San Diego, hands down. Ive been to dozens of pho restaurants, and I keep going back here because its just the best. Charbroiled pork vermicelli is perfection. They mince meat and then charbroil it, so it is very tender. Pho is also great here. Unfortunately, we moved out of the San Diego area. We will miss them very much and wish we could take them up near Boston. Thanks Pho Hiep!

They changed the price every time, since it’s cash only they make up the price, I came here for 2 weekends in a row. Different price every time. It’s honestly hard to tip good if you’re stealing money from me. Food is great, the stealing portion not so great.

Me and my wife have been to about a dozen or so Vietnamese pho and grill places in San Diego, and this one wins the best in our minds. We really like the rice vermicelli bowls they have with the grilled pork and egg rolls. They mince the pork before grilling so it comes out very tender compared to most other places where the pork is more tough. My wife has also gotten the rare steak pho several times and it has been top notch. All of the vegetables have been as fresh as they could be and the food is all around delicious. We wish they were closer to us in Lemon Grove, but its still well worth the drive there.

Id give the Pho Hiep & Grill 5 ☆s.It has a steady influx of local customers fromthe Linda Vista area, as well as from other nearbyneighborhoods.The Vietnamese foods were beautifully prepared and layed out; for a layman like me, I was really impressed by the various soups, the meat and fish dishes- the beef was thinly sliced, tender and spicy (Vietnamese foods are generally spicy).I tried the vegetable rolls and they were crisp; a crab/shrimp noodle soup...a variety of good Vietnamese noodle soups and hot and iced teas, both dark to green/mild.Ill have to return again and try a couple different meals before I can come to a definitive conclusion.The general consensus places the Pho Hiep & Grill, as a moderately priced Vietnamese resaurant that dishes up great food.Its locates in the Linda Vista, off of Ulric Street and in the back of The Linda Vista Shopping Center at the northeast corner.

We came to eat earlier today, place look alright However when we enter the restaurant the server was already giving us attitude and looking at us often while speaking on their language with her fellow workmate, seems Fishy but didnt mind it. I ordered eggrolls and Pho but when it came the eggrolls are already cold and I asked a person who works there if the eggrolls was fresh but he answered “ I dont know “ I mean I guess but he took it and replace it but it was still cold. This is some of the best, most satisfying Vietnamese food outside of Saigon. Everything here is done to perfection. Crispy rolls, flame-broiled pork, well-prepared grilled shrimp, lemongrass where it compliments the best... If I had any woes here it would be that they tend to skimp on the mints and other greens (but thats my grief with just about every Vietnamese restaurant). They are happy to provide more if you ask but the variety is limited. Their cà phê đá is tha bomb (Vietnamese iced coffee). The only thing missing here is the environment of Saigon (but if you close your eyes you can hear the scooters, feel the heat and humidity, and smell the myriad seafood, greens and fruits sold at Bến Thành Market [Chợ Bến Thành])
