For some reason EVERYTIME i come get the chowmein gets worse. I just ordered a veggie chow mein. NO TOFU.As you can see there is plenty of tofu on my order. Also it’s COVERED IN PEPPER?! why is my chow mein covered in a layer of PEPPER?! so disappointed been coming here for a few years now and I just keep getting reasons to never come back.This place used to be the best place in the area.

Ive enjoyed this place in the past, but my last meal was sub-par. The grilled pork was blackened to the point of being barely edible, the boba was bad, and they forgot an order. The pho was still good. And I have enjoyed it in the past, so hopefully it was an off night.
Since covid theyve been open inconsistently and still on take-out basis only since most of their staff is gone, and the ambiance has always been rather plain. However, Ive always thought highly of their food, and they make perhaps the best banh mi sandwiches in the area.
Pho broth had really good flavor. The chicken was nice and juicy. Fast service. Prices were good.
My husband and I come here for lunch a lot. There is always a lot of people even not during lunch hours. We always order pho. Its a pretty nice pho to go place!

Ordered egg rolls and told us they were out and that we could get calamari instead. Calamari was not good at all. Next table that comes in orders egg rolls and they come out.. pho tasted like bouillon and their noodles were not very good.
They dont have a large menu but a pretty good local spot if youre ever craving for some Vietnamese food.
Used to love this place but it hasn’t been the same since they changed owners. Ordered the combo pho and it didn’t come with tripe, tendon, or basil. Was disappointing and will not be coming back. There are tons of other great pho places in the area that will be getting my business in the future.
Food was delicious and fresh. They were very busy, but staff was the friendliest I have encountered in Pho restaurants. There was a consistent racial mix of customers which was impressive.Lastly I dont right reviews and I dont like or eat spring rolls. One came with my order and it was great.
As a regular who orders tofu spring rolls and bringing my kids there to eat, I was surprised to see new management and new faces. Never mind, I ordered as usual, but was given shrimp spring rolls ( I opened the box at home, imagine my chagrin as a vegetarian). I went back to get a refund. Not only that, the next time I placed an order, the gal who messed up told me “ we remember you”. O. K. The box came out and I checked to make sure it s tofu, not shrimp. Then I asked for an extra packet of sauce. The other pretty face said “ let us know before hand so we can inform the kitchen”. What? For a packet of peanut sauce? Well, I am NOT going to this place again. Such poor customer service.The old management was definitely better!
Food was good and it was in a nice little cozy area, just had one problem. Their service is eh.... they get your order bring you your drinks and thats it... we ran out of water and they never once came by to refill... we even put it at the edge of the table. Not sure if they bring the bill to you but we got tired of waiting to be noticed so got up and paid... overall just be more aware of your surroundings. If engaging customers isnt what your about fine... then put up a sign that says yell for service. But still soup was good.
Dont let the location fool you. This place is very authentic Vietnamese restaurant. Me and my kids ordered different varieties of dishes and they are really good, from the appetizer, Pho, rice plate and drinks. All well prepared and surprisingly tasty. Service is good too. Price is super reasonable.
Had the banh mi sandwiches, all of them were very good, beef, pork & chicken. The vermicelli dishes are good too. I would have given 5 stars but I forgot to order ahead of time as they always take a long time. I only ordered 4 sandwiches and it took about 30 minutes for my order.😩 Oh well, Ill know better next time. Yes, I said next time because I know I will be back😁
Went for lunch. Second time here. Service was quick again for two bowls of pho, #1 was on point. The tendon is particularly good here--if you havent tried it before, give the gelatinous chunk an honest try. Overall great experience.
Went here today. Got two bowls of cold soup, cold coffee, and cold tea (Lipton I might add). Even though we were eating in, the drinks were served in to go cups. Ordered two sandwiches to go that barely had any meat and was served on old hard bread rolls. This restaurant has went downhill. Very disappointing.

First time here. We tried several different dishes and were impressed with them all. Recommend fresh shrimp & pork spring rolls, deep fried imperial roll, special combo plate, #17 and #14, and of course the Pho. We had 3 different kinds, and feel you couldnt go wrong with any one chosen. Would go again when in the area. Alot of food for the price.
I had the same experience as the previous reviewer--old, hard bread for the banh mi sandwich, and inadequate filling, with inappropriately large amount of cucumber. Experience of about a week ago was also bad, with my husband getting the wrong beverage. weve been going here for years, but were thinking maybe they changed owners. The two employees who we interacted with were unfamiliar and clueless. The 3rd time wont be a charm. Were done!
Quality and value for amount of food you get is not worth it! We used to come here very regularly and used to crave the combo seafood pho soup, shaking beef plate and banh mi sandwiches. Quality has gone way down!We also felt sick after eating the pork banh mi sandwiches earlier. Sad but we won’t be coming here again!
Fantastic pho! I love the imperial rolls too. This place has saved me from colds on more than one occasion. Nice outdoor seating, can get busy around lunch time. Good bubble milk tea drinks too and fresh lemonade thats not too sweet or tart.
The first Pho place that Ive seen oxtails as an option for the combination bowl. Absolutely delicious!
Pho Saigon & Grill 2 is one of the best restaurants in the area, we love the food every time! Everything is fresh especially the pho and they always load you up with all the sides. The boba is also a must-have every time!! The staff are super nice and the inside is always nice and clean. If you love Vietnamese cuisine check this place out for sure!
Friendly servers. Good food. Service is slow when busy. Beef Carpaccio and mango papaya salad was delicious and unique. Not easy to find elsewhere. Good portions. Recommend the garlic rice. Will be back to try their pho.
I pass by this place everyday on my way to work, and finally, I had time enough in my schedule to stop by for lunch. Ordered the standard Phō, it was excellent. Good sized portion, flavorful broth, well prepared meat, all in all, an excellent lunch. Highly recommended.
They did not have dine in option, but had a handy ordering system in place. Easy to order and customize your meal. Food was out in a timely manner and they are very generous with the portions! I recommend checking them out! 😉

Pho Saigon & Grill 2 has been my go-to Vietnamese restaurant since moving out to the East Bay. I ate there often (pre-pandemic) and ordered a lot of to-go from them. I typically order the Fried Tofu, Vietnamese Beef Carpaccio, Special Combo Rice Plate, and Rice Vermicelli. My family and I really enjoyed the flavors and freshness of those dishes. However, that has now changed.Several weeks ago, when I ordered the Fried Tofu, they gave me way less than half the quantity of tofu from all of my previous orders, while remaining the same price. During that order, the Beef Carpaccio was still the usual quantity.Sadly, when I ordered dinner last night, I refrained from ordering the Fried Tofu because I didn’t want to spend the same amount of money for a lesser quantity than before. I did, however, ordered the same dishes I stated above. To my disappointment, they reduced the amount of beef in the carpaccio by a significant amount, again, while remaining its original price.We’ve also noticed that the Grilled Shrimps and Eggrolls have become way too overcooked. The eggrolls were very thick, hard, and tough to chew, while the shrimps had the rubbery texture you’d get for overcooking them.Pho Saigon & Grill 2 really had my heart and brought me comfort after moving away from San Francisco, but I think I might have to look for another Vietnamese Restaurant.
Food is always tasty! Food normally comes quickly. Weve had many mistakes to our orders and I am very happy to say that the restaurant is very swiftt to remedy the situation! Pho Saigon II is our local go-to about once a month. We look forward to our next visit!

Best Pho Ive ever had and service was good.
Good portions and reasonable prices. Good beef pho broth flavor but I feel the broth itself is not as clean and clear as most other pho places Ive had. They should skim off fat during the cooking more. Beef balls are also a little too hard for my liking and noodles kind of heavy and too chewy. Im used to smaller and softer rice noodles.

Just picked up an ordered Pho and when I opened the noodle from a box it looks like not freshly prepared. Top part of the noodle from the box was completely dried. When I called the restaurant owner, she insisted it would be softer when I put the dried noodle in the hot soup. I know how the rice noodle should be in the Pho. She mentioned she will provide a Pho free at the next order. I didnt accept the offer. I wished rather have a fresh noodle soup without such incident.
Service is unprofessional. If youre going to be charged $2.00 plus for a can of soda and you get your drink but you have to ask for a cup with ice instead of bringing it to you in the 1st place I mean come on. Then when youre ready to leave they dont give you the receipt of how much your food was instead of you go pay at desk and the person looks at your table number,to pay for it. Thats very unprofessional
Delicious food and great vegetarian options. If I crave a meat dish, theyre very flexible to change it into a vegetarian friendly platter for me. The servers are wonderful there and the owner is sweet as pie.
What is great about this treasure of a place is not only the food in its fresh presentation, and taste(s) flavor, not even the cozy and nostalgic feeling location, but the genuine, and sincere hospitality. Try pho with ox tail, such a unique touch and flavor, especially like for me it being your first time trying ox tail in any manner at all, and/or in pho.
I enjoyed the food here and the service was good. The lunch crowd was busy and there was a bit of a wait but that didnt effect my take out order. I ordered spring rolls and a vermicelli dish and they were solid. Im looking forward to try I h them again.
I order the seafood soup every time. But recently (since pandemic) theyve substituted some of the sauces (included) with packets, and I dont like them nearly as much 😔 overall I will keep coming back though.
Loved the place! Accidentally stumbled onto it driving by one day, and we’ve been regulars since.We haven’t explored the whole menu but the Sandwiches are great! And the pho will keep ya coming back!

I’ve been waiting for forty mins to pick up a online order. while the lady in front house keeps telling me “a few minutes”. if you’re so short staffed you might as well just stay closed instead of having a bunch of people waiting for so long.
Food was average. Service was horrible. Food wasnt bad, but it wasnt amazing or even really good, just average. Nothing special. As for service, ive had better at fast food places. Guy sat us near the door, my wife was under the weather amd we asked if we could be away from door amd cold breeze coming in. He responded with i can close the door, which we unhappily accepted(the places was more than half empty). And wouldnt you know it, next guests that come in leave the door open. I had to get up and shut the door, doing this eventually gets tiring, how are you suppose to enjoy a meal. I ran out of water half way through my meal amd nobody came by to refill, again how am i suppose to enjoy a meal(spicy) without anything to wash it down with, sure i could have waived somebody down to refill but nobody was walking around. I saw everybody behind the counter socializing with each other.isnt it the job of the wait staff to verify their guests are comfortable, and not mine to remind them to do what they are paid to do. I can guarantee im never visiting that place again
The chicken and beef pho are pretty good. The garlic noodles are good but kinda greasy. Hard to tell the difference between the different size pho bowls. Sometimes I feel like they just put the same portion in a bigger bowl. Their pearl drinks are good, but there always seems to be a big ice chunk in them.

Went to check out this Vietnamese restaurant for lunch. I ordered #16 - Bun Tom, Ga Muogn, Cha Gio that is combo of: grilled shrimps, chicken & Imerial Roll over Vermicelli. It was very good; the vermicelli noodles were done well. Not sticky or gummy. I also ordered the Taro Pearl Smoothie drink that turned out very well; too bad that the server wasn’t attentive nor asked how well my food was. No check was given so, I end up going up to the counter to pay my meal. The cuisine was very good. I’ll probably come back and try the other cuisine they have on the menu.

Food was great but the man who was working the register was very rude and lazy. Did not get off his chair to give me my to go. Then a customer behind me in line asked to see the menu, the man just pointed rudely to the board above him. When obviously he asked for a paper menu.
Ive been on a project in this area and love pho, I pulled in at lunch time ready to try and left extremely dissapointed. there was a serious language barrier probably due to owner hiring cheapest labor possible. However, Given the kind of foods I enjoy im use to language problems so not a big deal....yet. The waiter brought the wrong dishes for everyone at the table then took them back to the kitchen. The correct dishes were brought back to us 10 minutes later with extremely over cooked mushy noodles. im fairly confident that the staff simply took the noodles out of incorrect bowls and placed them into correct bowls. This cheap and stupid move resulted in a overcooked dish. I wont be dining in there ever again and eventually found a great noodle place right up the street.
Great Pho, great food, so good theres a wait most of the time, they just need to clean and remodel their outside patio and it would be even better. Parking spaces are available, unless they are completely busy. I suggest calling ahead first.

Pho Saigon Noodle recently updated their restaurant but their pho remains the same...hot, tasty, and delicious. Perfect soup for the recent cold weather. Their rice plates are the typical Vietnamese rice plate fair with the grilled pork chops, fried chicken wings and egg rolls. Id recommend you stick with the pho however. They also serve Vietnamese sandwiches but definitely nothing to write home about. If youre in the mood for pho, youll definitely be happy with this neighborhood restaurant.
I was reluctant to try pho for a long time but I am glad I did. I tried a veggie pho and man the portion first of all was huge. And it was delicious. Specially with their chili sause and some sirracha sauce. I will become a regular now!

This is my go-to Pho restaurant with my family! They’re under new ownership and every time I go, they’ve remodeled the place so it always looks a little different and there’s always something new to look at. I usually get #1 or #0. So yummy!

Been to a lot of Pho restaurants but I have not seen any place which serve a bigger portion than Pho Saigon. Also, the oxtail in their soup is the kicker. Not a lot of Vietnamese restaurants offer oxtail, but his place does in addition to the usual variety of meat. Free parking available, accepts major credit cards.

Surprising gem of a place for vegetarians in El Sobrante looking for a good pho soup! Driven by lots of times and the sign tended to not draw me in... But finally tried it and so happy I did

The pho ga was delicious, with fresh greens and sprouts on the side, to add as much or little as you like. Fast service, even though it was very busy there.

Great Pho broth. You can taste that time went into making the food here. My favorite is pho 1 with the tendon, meatballs, steak, and tripe.

2023-05-10 01:22:12They have a soft opening since 5 months ago. We had Pho Ga, Pho veggies and beef as well as short ribs bbq. I would say the soups and egg noodles taste much better than before! Jason, the owner, makes everything in the house now!

2023-07-25 20:06:25I ordered the #16 Grilled Chicken combo with shrimp and eggroll….EVERY BITE OF THE CHICKEN & NOODLES IS OIL.Nothing is grilled in this dish….Everything is Deep Fried and all the OiL WILL BE UNDER THE CHICKEN ALL OVER THE VERMICELLI…..YOUR VERMICELLI NOODLES WILL TASTE LIKE OIL…IF You can see, Nothing is really grilled…Just Unknown Chicken pieces curled up from the deep fryer.

2023-05-15 22:06:53It is good to have a local Vietnamese restaurant in El Sobrante. Ive had several dishes here and they are all good. My recommendations are the Pho and the Bun (vermicelli) dishes. I do come after heavy traffic hours so it helps as the owner is also the chef, I believe.My understanding is that pre-pandemic, they were bustling and now post-pandemic, they are needing your support and patronage.

Pork chop plate had DRY pork steaks inside of the pork chops I paid for, 2 pork Bahn Mi sandwiches with the HARDEST bread ever-clearly stale. No worries, as you’ve now lost another local customer. BTW had I noticed the failed Health Deposit visit hanging, I never would have entered the business. Do better by your paying customers next time!!

2022-04-27 20:04:09It seems like the management/ownership might have changed. The staff is much slower. The food is different. Chicken wings are almost overcooked and almost comparable to a jawbreaker.The sauce for the spring rolls was way off and could not be finished. I resorted to finishing my spring roll with sweet and sour sauce - yes, i was THAT disappointed.I downgraded my rating 5 to 2

2020-11-19 15:09:25Use to be our go to pho place because for myself they have vegan pho with vegan broth. Sometimes I’d order their grilled shrimp vermicelli. They would order their thinly sliced beef platter over rice.Probably in the last few months they do not have the same flair of cooking as they once had. The shrimp was not grilled but skillet cooked; oily if you ask me and they added some type of green onion on top which they never did.The thinly sliced beef, they use another beef, it’s no longer thin but it’s stringy and super fatty. Saddened that my one go to has lacked in the appeal and comfort of consistency.

2022-08-24 23:03:01Great food. Meh service. Overpriced.Update:The service is horrendous. Only one person serving/taking orders/cash register. And only one cook in the back. The place is empty, and it took beyond forever for the food to come out. One dish came out, and it took another 20min. for the rest of the order to come out. Flies as far the eye can see. I wont return.

2022-04-19 20:53:51*Health hazard* If I could leave less than 1 star I would, highly recommend that no one eat here. I ordered $60+ in food and it showed up with dead cockroachs in the pho bowls. Totally disgusted with this!
