I stumbled upon this gem of a Pho restaurant on Fairfax in LA, and its truly a rare find! Their Vietnamese dishes, crafted with authenticity and care, offer a genuine taste of home. The nostalgic decor with cassette tapes and video games adds a unique charm. Plus, a big win for me - no MSG! And to top it off, they have Beer Saigon! Its not just a meal; its an experience blending authentic flavors and cherished memories.Service is good and friendly, and theyve got seating options for different group sizes - from large gatherings to small tables and a patio. Its convenient to have a Vietnamese place in LA without trekking too far. The decor is a mix of old-school charm, and they even sell some merchandise. Its a good spot for a quick Vietnamese fix, though be aware they can be a little backed up during busy hours. Understandable nowadays. Highly recommended!

I was warmly welcomed upon arrival and the atmosphere feels almost as if you’re in someone’s home, just really personable. The lemongrass pork bun was absolutely fantastic, full of flavor, tons of toppings and a hearty portion. I was thrilled that items were marked gluten free, which was really convenient for my dietary restrictions. What really made the experience was Janet. She was positive, upbeat, made suggestions, and is the ultimate reason that I will be back. Highly recommend!

We are from the DC area and wanted some comfort food on the tail end of our trip.The wife found this pho place, the ratings and reviews have us confidence to try it out.The owner comes around like a true Vietnamese mom asking if everything tastes good and if there is anything we need. She is very friendly and personable.This place has a retro gaming setup for kids or anyone who wants to play super Nintendo. Also a VHS with tons of Disney movies! How cool.The check comes in a retro cassette from the 80-s and 90-s to bring some nostalgia back to when you lock yourself in your room and bumped your stereo.Food was great, pork and vegetarian egg rolls, and build your own pho recommended.

If your in the the La Brea Tar Pits Museum area and get a craving for some Pho, this is your spot. This small cozy spot has great service. They dont give you bean sprouts, basil, jalapenos or lime on the side as most Pho places do. The spring rolls were delicious and fresh. We had the Pho Fax Bowl and it was filling. The best dish was the Grandma Fried Rice, the sweet sausage and shrimp made this dish the Best.

Would rate 10 star if possible. Janet our server was A1. Never allowed glass to go empty, was super kind - gave us a bit of background on the restaurant and brought all food out fresh and timely. Our new favorite Vietnamese eatery in the area! Parking was easy. Great menu selection. We ordered the Nuoc Mam Wings, Phofax Special and Grandma’s Fried Rice. The flavors were spot-on for all 3 dishes. Loved the homemade meatballs, very unique. The sweet sausage in the fried rice was highly addicting. Super friendly staff with attentive service. Looking forward to trying every dish on their menu!

Been back here several times and every time is just as good as the last! The staff is very friendly and attentive. I’ve really enjoyed the garlic noodles which had a really amazing flavor with a hint of pepper.The fried rice is always a good choice. It’s never over cooked and always fried to perfection with a few options. They are all equal in my book but just depends what you’re in the mood for.Pandan ice cream for dessert is a great way to end the meal. Always fresh, never frozen, always delicious.The bathroom is always clean and available to customers.Parking on the street can be difficult to find, but side streets do have available parking.

Decent pho but I’d rather drive closer to Koreatown or further east for good pho like Pho 87. I didn’t expect it to be amazing like authentic pho. Fusion restaurants with 90s decor that has pho. Found the broth to be on the sweeter side. Brisket isn’t thin at all, thick slices instead. Love that oxtail was an option. Egg rolls good. Nice that they only accept only electronic payments but FYI a 3% surcharge for credit card purchases (no cash accepted so umm this sucks).

The interior is really cool with nice artwork and hip furnishings.The bill comes held up by a vintage cassette tape cover!My favorite things about this place are the attention this restaurant pays to COVID-19 safety to keep their customers safe. Cool tip: This restaurant offered groceries and bags of rice to the community at cost to help slow the spread and spread some support and kindness. Five stars!

Food was delicious! Loved being able to customize my pho and their homemade meatballs are amazing! The (owner?) was extremely hospitable and friendly. She came around asking every table how their food and experience was. We came about 40 min before closing time and the staff never made us feel rushed. In fact, they made sure to ask if we needed anything before the kitchen closes. Kid-friendly! They had a nintendo 64 set up for kids to play.

Cute little spot that my friend choose for dinner. We sat in this cute little round table nook in the window. It was a chilly night and perfect for pho. We started off with the fresh rolls and the taco specials for taco Tuesday. The spring roll itself had flavor to it and the dipping sauce was thicker than other places Ive had, but it was delicious. The tacos took me for a surprise, the meat was marinated well with flavor and delicious with every bite. Then for our entrees, my friend ordered the pho special and I ordered the mamas special fried rice with the fried egg. The pho broth was savory and the meatball had a different texture to it compared to others Ive tasted. It was a bit more spongy, but I didnt mind it. The fried rice dish was light in flavor, nothing really distinct about it. But it was good with sriracha. However when it came down to it, my friend and I both agreed that the spring roll/tacos were the best out of the 4 dishes.

Wish they put as much effort into the food than they put into the aesthetic and branding. got pho tai filet. broth was watery. the beef was not rare and hard to chew. filet was literally twisted up like it had come off a skillet when they placed the bowl on the table. accoutrements were sparse, basil was brown and wilted. hardly any noodles… overall, the staff and atmosphere are nice. food is overpriced, not filling, bland. maybe it’s just the pho? i hate adding sriracha to broth but it was the only way i could finish the paltry amount of noodles given.

This Pho is some of the best Pho I have ever had. Flying in from Miami and we needed some good food. We found Pearl . Delicious Pho Duc Biet . We also tried the Ox tail Pho . Amazon and very creative. Oh last but not least. The Wings were Deliciousness .

Broth was not only completely flavorless but it wasn’t even hot. Deep-fried egg rolls were completely bland. Pho didn’t come with limes and basil leaves, I had to ask for them, and when I got them the basil was all wilted.I know in LA sometimes I’ll have to pay $20 for a bowl of pho but it had better at least be good. Maybe I caught y’all on an off night or something but this was the most mediocre pho I’ve had in a long time.Server was great, cocktail was great. To be fair the server did ask me if everything was OK but I didn’t feel like dealing with making a complaint so I just said it was fine and ate it.

Services is good, restaurant looks clean, the foods are average. Order spring rolls and two bowls of Pho, spring rolls are good. The Pho, which is supposedly the signature dishes here, is not good. The broth is not savory and more on the salty side. The meat ball is not chewy and crunchy as it should be.I may be back for other dishes, but definitely not come here if I am craving for Pho.

Tastes like the pho I make, which is fine at best lol. Like mine, it was a bit too oily, and lacked the spice you would get from whole black peppercorns. Our main server was all right. But the head waitress (I think) was exceptional.The spring/summer rolls (whichever came with pork and shrimp) were packed with filler which ruined the taste. After removing a good bit of the lettuce the rolls tasted decent.The bill for 3 people for lunch ran up to $100+. The experience was definitely not worth the price... So I will not be coming back. Im still happy I tried something new and dont regret coming here, but its not worth a repeat visit.Also, this place is a certified retro-hioster joint complete with decorative VHS and Cassettes everywhere if thats your thing.

I decided to give this place a shot. Arriving inside, I really liked the seating in front of the glass panels it gives it an authentic look but a cringy feeling if you wanna just watch people pass by while you eat. The female with black hair was really nice, but she forgot to bring out the veggie plate. I requested lime, but she immediately remembered. I ordered a mimosa and they have those 5 dollars for refills which is ehh.The phó I ordered didnt really have much eat either. This is a decent place to eat while youre visiting the museums in the area. We were able to find free street parking a few blocks away on a Sunday. Everyone in my group got the house pho and it was delicious. Generous size and decent amount of protein. Hot Vietnamese coffee came in a drip brew kit, which was unexpected and definitely something I have and can make at home, but tasted great. We didnt have to wait to be seated.

First time visit since I was in the area and was craving some pho. The atmosphere was nice, plenty of seating and well ventilated. The service was nice, happy server and I didnt even have to ask for more water. I had the phofax special I believe it was called. The price was a little higher than expected but the quality of the meat really tells you why. The cuts were very tender but what I really loved was the size of the tendon! I Love tendons and this was a monster of a piece. The only problem I had was the broth, all you taste is the fat. I was a little disappointed but Ill give this place another visit when Im in the area, maybe Ill try the chicken next time.

One of my favorite if not my favorite Vietnamese restaurant. This one on Fairfax near 6th street but I also go to the one in Orange County at spectrum center. The pho broth is some of the best I’ve ever had. So unique. If I don’t get the pho ga i usually get shaken beef with a side of broth. Gotta have the broth. Also make sure you get the Vietnamese egg rolls. Enjoy!

Such a cozy and friendly restaurant. The service was fast and great. Got into conversations with neighboring customers while we waited. Had a chance to chat with one of the owners and you can tell she is really passionate about providing a great experience to each and every customer.I had their special pho with all the fixings - brisket, flank, filet, tendon and meatballs. Their meatballs are made in house and theyre so light and fluffy - none of that rubbery stuff. The broth was rich and flavorful with a generous amount of all the meats, and their veggies were so fresh. Also had their fried fish sauce chicken wings. It was good. Pho was 4 - 4.5 and the shrimp fried rice was a solid 4. I’d eat here again. Not allot of noodle but allot of meat. Best pho meatball I remember having. Broth was good meat was tasty. The food was great. The experience, not so much. My first time here was great. My server was an Asian girl who was on top of my drinks and knew the menu well. My second time at this restaurant was today and it didn’t go so well. It was an all Latino staff. It’s hard to order stuff when most of their staff doesn’t speak a lick of English. I got all my food before I even got my drink. When I asked for my soda, the lady looked so confused and said “aqua?”. I didn’t know that I needed to know Spanish for this lunch service. I asked my server what kind of milk is in the non dairy milk teas and she said “it’s a non dairy milk”. Well yeah, duh. But is it coconut? Almond? Oat? Soy? She had no clue and looked like she didn’t care to find out. I asked for a fork for my pho and the lady from the kitchen looked even more confused. I had to motion a fork with my fingers. Maybe I’ll just order for take out next time.

Came here all the way from Colorado just to try the oxtail poutine, but it was taken off the menu😑. Instead my party and I had the oxtail pho and grandma fried rice. We were not disappointed. He oxtail was very flavorful and tender, the broth of the pho was silky, and the rice was probably the best Ive had in a very long time. Our server was great too. This is really my go-to place for pho but this time I Got the Thai Basil Stir Fry. It was good...but not at all what I thought it was going to be. I thought the noodles were going to be stir fried but it was just stir fried meat on basically a vermicelli bowl without egg roll. There is such thing as Vietnamese stir fry noodles, which I asked for clarification if this was that. It was a confusing dialogue with the waiter. I ate it all cus it tasted fine but, Im just here to clarify for others like me looking for Vietnamese stir fried noodles, this is not that dish.

I got the vegetarian pho and I was pretty underwhelmed. It was good, and satisfying enough that I enjoyed it. But it felt like a bit of an afterthought considering it was the same price as the other pho that includes meat and other additional items.Like I said, the pho was enjoyable, I think the owner could add a little more flair to the pho chay. Kinda expensive well every bowl of Phô is like $13 and some change so with tip yeah. But its a nice restaurant and it was good, filling, and I went because I was sick with a sore throat and I knew phô would help it. It sure did! Service was good and fast too. At first, I was ecstatic to find a Vietnamese place close to my house. I ordered the filet mignon pho bowl. It came as a shock to me that the meat would be served in a separate container, entirely raw. I noticed this 25 minutes later after I arrived at work to eat my lunch and was unable to put the meat in because it was uncooked. I wish this was made clear to me beforehand that it would be served raw and in a separate container than the broth.I called back to ask what had happened and what I could do about it. The response I received from the female manager was APPALLING. She asked for my first name and I gave it to her, then she responded “good, I can’t do anything about it, but what I’ll do is tell all the staff who you are so that they can educate you on pho every time you come in.” She continued by saying she’d even be making a video and be the first to send it to me.You can’t make this kind of thing up - whoever was working the shift at 1:45pm on 11/29 should really get a customer service orientation.

I took my wife and my mom here. We got the fresh spring roll, special plate, oxtail pho, and the dac biet. We were thoroughly disappointed with everything. Pho broth tasted like warm water. Lacking flavor in every way. The service was also ridiculous. Two different waitresses have so much attitude. We asked about a shrimp shell in our pho and we told the waitress and she laughed at us and walked away. We all work in customer service jobs so we understand the stress of unhappy customers but there was multiple times where they were just so extremely rude when we were nothing but nice. Pho Saigon Pearl, is a staple pho cafe in the neighborhood. Parking is easy with street parking, they have outdoor seating and a cozy inside seating. Servers are always a hit or miss, but I come here for the food and the vibes, staff is always friendly of course and knowledgeable. Pho broth is always good for LA its one of my favorites. Prices are a little over compared to your mom and pop pho shop but thats okay! They have great staples, which are the banh mi, noodle and rice dishes I recommend the garlic noodles its top tier and the serving is chefs kiss. Pho is fantastic! If you are lucky you will receive everything you ordered and the pho will not be unbearably salty. They seem to get it right about 60% of the time in our experience. After a long week tonight we picked up our order, brought it home, only to find that they left out the tofu from both meals. Then it turned out that the broth was so full of salt it was impossible to eat it. We tried several times. Added a full glass of water and it was still too salty. Had to throw out everything. We called them and told them about all this and they said they were sorry but theres nothing they could do as a struggling business. They said they can refund the missing tofus when we go in next time. There wont be a next time and the struggling business just lost a long-time customer which probably wont help the situation.

Kind of got “catfished” by this place….. the photos on chow now/the website are not really what you actually get. I ordered a vermicelli bowl, shrimp spring rolls and green milk tea for $40. As I comb Yelp looking for pho I came across this address. As we ordered I realized that it was going to be a tough choice to overcome my expectations. Ive had two fabulous experiences and other pho restaurants in one in Camarillo and the other in Santa Maria. I have to admit the pho here with oxtails left me wanting the taste experience that I had before at other restaurants. Oxtail pho was little tough, the soup lacked the flavor depth that I am accustomed to. However, the shrimp and rice is something I would definitely return for. I would definitely drive an hour to repeat that experience. Spring rolls were above average. I cant put my finger on exactly the ingredients of the spring roll but it almost snapped with freshness in the center. The dip in sauce was way too thick, it didnt want to coat the spring roll as dipping sauce should. The fud definitely need a little bit of flavor levels but everything else was rather tasty.

They have great service and a really cute shop. I love the seats in the windows because you are literally surrounded by window. Its perfect for solo eating or with one other person. The pho is great (not my favorite, but my favorite is too far from me sometimes so this is an excellent backup!). When I get pickup they sometimes have cute little notes. Served properly, with all the fixings on the side on a separate plate- everything green stays crunchy and cool instead of wilting in the (wonderfully flavorful) broth. The staff obviously care about a lot and are enthusiastic and convivial. My favorite pho place!! All their pho + broth is gluten free, and it is so good! With Celiac, I know I can trust them on that being safe to eat. Its delicious everytime and Im always so full. The cheese curds didnt melt, the gravy wasnt hot enough, and maybe it was because we ordered the last poutine available for the day, but the oxtail didnt taste as flavourful? Id say it was a good effort but if youve had authentic poutine before, dont order that particular appetizer. The pho is still fine though. The drinks were good and the service was great. Staff were very friendly and accommodating and pricing is reasonable.

The food here is good however it is double the price of any other pho noodle place that I have ever been in the city. On my last visit my bill was $18 for a pho beef combo with flank, brisket and meet balls. All of the other pho noodles places I have ever been to in Los Angeles, the price is generally $8 to $11. At this place I was told the build your own pho noodle was $12.95 (which is more expensive than every other place already) but what I didnt know is that they charge you $1-$2 extra for each type of meat u choose. The waitress who suggested that did not mention they charge additional for each meat. So I got three different kinds of meat. Brisket, flank and meatballs. Ultimately the manager did drop the price for me and gave me a $2 discount on the bill for the inconvenience. She explained that if I had chosen the regular beef combo at $12.95 I would have gotten ONE piece of each meat. That is absolutely ridiculous in my opinion to get only one piece of each meat for $13 in a beef combo pho!!! I still ended up paying $16 for a small bowl of beef combo pho. Although the food was good it does not justify being double the price of every other pho place I could have gone to. I will not be going back to this location because they are so expensive!!!

I order a bowl of pho 🍜 with rare filet mignon, ox 🐂 tail, and home made beef balls. The ox tail, rare filet mignon are good 👍. Beef balls are not that good. Overall, I rate tho phở 7/10 but it still better than phở at Vien Cafe (Pico Blvd.), Pholicious (La Cienaga Blvd), and other Phở around this area. Compared to other Pho restaurants, this one is more expansive. The above costs me $24 plus tips.I return to this restaurant the second time and Im disappointed. I order PhoFax special this time. The bowl somewhat looks like pho, but the taste is not pho at all. Its tasteless, and I could not finish it. I order a piece of baguette just to fill up my stomach instead, and a cup of Vietnamese coffee to go. Three coffee is okay. Again, the cost is $24 this time. I would not return.

Good place and tea. But unpolite staff ever. Since it is a cafe, I grabbed a book and went there hoping to read, drink and eat something later. It happened that I choose a tea to begin. Then just ten minutes after I heard the chief of staff saying the bill for table at window 1 (my table). So, the waiter just came and gave me the bill. Service was the worst part for me. We waited 15 minutes for water and then 30 minutes after we ordered for the food to arrive. I dont know what took so long because they werent particularly busy, and several people who came in after received their food before us. The Pho was good, but very americanized and not what I was looking for. If youre Vietnamese and like good pho, I suggest Pho Hoa.

In general its better than I expected for pho on the Westside.Obviously its better than the K-Pho places due to the authenticity of the taste.Portion size is average to what you would get from the Westside.In detail: ox tail pho is served with the oxtail served with a separate bowl. The meat does come off the bone easily but not fall off. The Viet ice coffee was more sweet than strong. Kinda like Lees but less strong.Would I come back? Its a bit on the pricey side compared to Nong-la. But its good.
