PLEASE -- AVOID THIS PLACE. Im pretty sure many of these reviews are not genuine. This is the second time I ordered from them. First time, they served me shrimp rolls that had gone bad. I didnt bother complaining because I thought it was a fluke and just one dish had gone bad out of 5. I didnt want to bother. However, I ordered from them again (huge mistake) because the one I usually go to was closed. I ordered vegetable noodle soup, vegetable spring rolls, and chicken rice here tonight and went in to pick it up. First of all, the place is FILTHY (first time going into the restaurant vs. delivery) -- I was appalled. The bok choy in the noodle soup was yellow and wilted, rubbery, and tasted awful (see pic next to jalapeño for color reference). The tofu in the soup had turned and gone bad, and the tofu in the spring roll has also gone bad. I called to complain and the rude owner did not care and claimed there was nothing wrong with the food and hung up on me.Restaurants with poor quality control like this is how one can get food poisoning. There are better places near by including the one across the street from them. Food is better there and owners are much friendlier.

Was close by and went here during lunch. Pho is always good on a cold day. The place is small so our party of two waited a bit. Only one guy handling all the tasks and he was very efficient given the situation. I tried the large pho combination. Its comparable to other Pho places in the area. The sprouts didnt look as fresh as other places. I will come back to try other items in the menu. The seafood fried noodle looks pretty good.

Excellent soup base, not oily yet naturally flavourful! Great meat cut, and fresh veggie with no black dot in leaves, lots lime and hot green peppers I can take home! Large portion too, M serve me good! Quick food speed, nice shaded outdoor seating.My co-worker yelled at me at the end of the meal cuz we have different opinion on covid, leaving a sour taste, but I will be back for sure!

Ive been going here every weekend and order the same item - chicken noodle soup (pho). Its always amazing and its also healthy. They have a special spicy sauce that you can ask for and is (I believe) imported because I havent been able to find it.The restaurant is always clean and is family owned. The owner works with his elderly parents and is a very nice guy. Would definitely recommend this place!

Best pho in the East Bay Area. I have been going to Pho Sam every week for the past year—and I still can’t get enough. The Pho is absolutely awesome! Pho Sam make their broth using real, fresh chicken (or beef), unlike most other places around which use prepackaged and fake seasoning packets; it is very easy to taste the difference. On top of that, these guys are a true family business, with the son working the orders and his elderly parents working the kitchen with their magic. The service is great, too. Usually the food is out in less than 3-5 minutes, but it can be a bit more or a bit less sometimes depending on the crowd. And since I have been going here for over a year, Long remembers my order every time I come in, and we have some ongoing inside jokes, too. Overall, though, I absolutely love this place and would highly recommend to anyone looking for great pho—you will not regret it.

This is a gem in the rough, this is my favorite authentic Vietnamese restaurant in the area. Prices are great, food tastes great, plenty of parking. Pho is noodles with ingredients, same ingredients everywhere but somehow tastes different. This place has had a lot of following and regulars for a good reason. They are consistent with the food quality.

Trust me Pho Sam is the best pho place around in the San Ramon-Dublin area. Their noodle soups are outta the world, truly delicious. I havent tried a whole lot of their menu but I have tried their vegetarian n chicken noodle soups (they only make it in chicken broth) and the flavors are unbeatable. The portions are generous and the food is reasonably priced. Do ask for their hot chili oil if you like spicy, itll just elevate your noodle soup a notch up!

Ordered combination beef noodles and egg rolls. Egg rolls doesn’t have much fillings in it and the flavour is blend. Broth of noodle soup is not boiling hot like it should be. Also two of the beef balls were rotten. We have to spit it out. I told the owner so he can be aware and check the rest of his beef balls but he doesn’t seem to care. Not going back.

Im not too familiar with the other menu items, but the pho is among the best Ive had. The broth is delicious with great flavor and without an excess of oil. The portions are generous with plenty of meat and not just an abundance of noodles. The prices are in line with the local competition, although you may find it expensive if you are just passing through. Highly recommend; cant go wrong with the combination noodle soup if youre having a hard time choosing.

So this is one of those hidden gem places. It doesn’t look fancy or anything out of the ordinary but they have got the best pho in San Ramon, as well as the best prices too. The food tastes fine and I have no complaints about the small space. The only concern I have is cleanliness. I found dust in the empty bowl and a fruit fly on the veggie. The food tastes as good as Asian street food, but perhaps as unclean as the street food.

What do we as customer want from a great restaurant regardless of the size? In my opinion great food, variety of choices will always be accompanied by great customer service, at Pho Sam, you can enjoy both. So if you feeling some Vietnamese or asian food... If you want really good homemade style Pho and atmosphere this is the place. My wife and I really felt welcome by the warm friendly staff, everything had a truely amazing flavor! We started with the egg rolls w/ fish sauce, beef pho, she got Thai tea and I got the drip coffee (strong and soo so good). They really cared about us and everyone seated around us! I felt like I was at a family party. 6/5 if I could. Will come back and will stead the word!

I came here because the reviews implied good customer service, and that the food was good of course. So I came in, the place was empty, not a smile nor any type of greeting from the two staff who were there ( a middle-aged man and an elderly man) but I wasn’t bothered. I ordered my food to go and requested egg noddles not rice, paid my bill, but while waiting for my food I realized I might have been overcharged. When my food had arrived, I asked the guy what the tax in San Ramon was, he said 8.25 then I said nicely (with a smile) that my bill seemed too high. He showed me the receipt, pointed his finger on the tax then I noticed that there was an extra $5 charge. I politely asked what the charge was for then he abruptly answered “You ordered egg rolls”. I again answered politely and said ”No, I did not order egg rolls”, but the guy insisted that I did. The elderly man also insisted that I ordered the egg rolls and as annoyed as I was, I still responded politely specially because the elderly man had helped prepare my food. At this point I just said “I did not order the egg rolls but it’s ok”. I took the bag then the guy said that he can remove it. The whole situation of insisting rudely that I had ordered something I did not just made me want to leave the place so I said “It’s ok, we can enjoy some egg rolls tonight”. Driving home I thought to myself these egg rolls better be good. I got home, took a bite of an egg roll and it was a bit soggy. The wrapper inside wasn’t completely cooked either. My sister also gave me that look of disaproval upon having a bite of it. I started serving the soup and I found rice noodles, not egg noodles that I had requested. All these errors and misunderstandings would have been fine, if only they had handled the situation gracefully. I was excited about getting food to go tonight looking forward for a relaxing night. Instead, I left the place feeling tricked and unfairly treated.

Wow, I’m no amateur when it comes to Thai tea, I make it at home, I know when it’s made with powder or actually steeped etc .However it’s nice to be spoiled . So I gave this place a shot Not worth the taste or size .$10.77 for mini cups. I usually will spend this on two decently sized cups at house of pho .It taste very light and watery, not full / strong the way it should be .Disappointed, I will not waste my time or money there again .

My daughter and her friend had the vegetable pho in chicken broth and I had chicken over crispy noodles. they loved their soup, and I was okay with mine but if youre used to having Hong Kong style panfried fresh Noodle youre in for a disappointment, they take dry dehydrated noodles out of the box and pour the meat & veggies over it, so its a bit of a cheap substitute for the real thing.

Good pho on rainy days. I always order the pho tai, beef on the side.Quick service when not packed.Front-man is very friendly and tries to get to know patrons.Not good if youre not patient. Wait can be over 20 - 30 min depending on how busy they are. Understand that one person is handling the waiting, part of the serving, making the drinks, and the register.

Although masks are on their heads, they dont wear them covering mouth and nose. What’s the point? Tossed the food when I got home, shouldn’t have even paid for it. Guy taking orders and payments didn’t disinfect once despite being in direct contact (credit cards, signing receipts, sharing pens) with several customers. Purell was right next to him!Won’t be back and will not support local businesses that dont take proper precautions for their customers.
