Delicious food, been coming here for over 15 years and still looks the same. Service is good, food comes out fast. Parking lot is a bit difficult to get out of, but at least there is parking. The regular size Pho is big enough for me, but if you are hungry they have larger portions for a nominal fee ($1.25). Best part, the spring roll order comes with 4 rolls instead of two like most places. If you are in PB and craving Pho, give them a try.

Good price and great food. Recommend the steak and brisket pho and fried chicken wings. You can also upsize your bowl for $1.50 which I recommend if you want more for a great deal!

Unfortunately it’s the second time I ordered take-out and there are still problems with the food I ordered: the spring rolls came all broken- I’m not sure if the rice sheets are too thin or they simply stick between each roll but the picture shows what happened. And bummer the sauce (supposedly peanut one) had so much soy sauce or hoisin that the taste was way off all the other good peanut sauces I have eaten in the past at other places.Tofu -veggies- rice was good. Like ok.I really wish they’ll step up their game with this review. If they do, I’ll be happy to modify it.

They sent us with slices of raw beef. I get that the meat is supposed to cook in the broth, which is fine if you can eat right away or can reheat the broth. Were staying in a hotel 15 minutes away. By the time we got to the hotel room the broth is warm but drinkable temperature, not hot enough to fully cook beef. Thanks but no thanks, be careful if ordering carry-out from here!

This place is quick, affordable, and delicious. Their broth is super tasty and very light! The perfect spot for a quick takeout when you have a sick relative, or just want something warm. I’ll always come here for pho in PB, I recommend you do the same!

I wanted rice and pork. Conveniently, they had fried pork chops on the menu. It was served with lettuce, tomato, and cucumber. The meat portion was small so I had to order two extra chops. Served with a bowl of anise-infused broth. The meat was nicely seasoned.

I’m writing this review 1 year after moving away from SD. I’ve just spent the last 8 month traveling Southeast Asia and specifically spent one month in Vietnam. Pho Sao Bien is still hand down the best Pho I have ever gotten! I probably ate Pho twenty times in my one month of my travels in Vietnam and every time I was comparing the quality and taste to Pho Sao Bien. Just saying…this is the best Pho you can get in the whole word. No joke. Order the #1, it’s their special for a reason!

Been waiting for a while to try this place, the place is pretty small. Kind of reminds me of a diner. The waiter was VERY friendly! Seemed like a really nice guy, everybody there and the environment seemed so local. My girlfriend had the chicken pho with vegetarian broth, the broth at first seemed very very sweet, then we added our toppings and ended up tasting really salty. I got the #1 Large pho combo, pretty decent size, my personal opinion, I didnt think the pho was over the top. The broth tasted very clean but the flavors really werent strong. Definitely just an average bowl of pho to me, but it was really nice to support a local business with homey vibes!

The pho meat, broth, and noodle are good. The cha gio (fried egg rolls) is just okay. The fish sauce dip doesnt feel homemade. The service was good and fast. The prices are good. The atmosphere had a dingy smell thus didnt feel clean even though everything was visually clean.

I have been coming to Pho Sao Bien for over 10 years and their delicious dishes, friendly service and clean setting never disappoints! Their pho broth is perfectly balanced, steaming hot with fresh cuts of meat. I also like that they serve fresh rice noodles, it makes a big difference! I typically start with the shrimp and pork spring rolls or some crispy egg rolls. Their vermicelli bowls are tasty too with fresh herbs, bean sprouts, grilled pork and egg rolls. If you havent been to this gem in PB, you must check it out.

The best pho around, super flavorful, and a wonderful environment. The owners are also very nice.Update: I went back today and tried their drip espresso/condensed milk drink and its really good but extremely strong. Highly recommended but only if youre sure you want some of the strongest coffee youve ever had.Update 2: if were in San Diego we always go here. The most recent time it was just good. Still well into 5 star territory but I was saddened that it seemed to lose some of its magic. Hopefully it was just one less excellent batch, or maybe it was me, I hope they can keep up their quality because its my absolute favorite.

Hands down best pho in San Diego. I’ve been a regular customer for years, and the ingredients are always high quality and portions are generous. Their broths are clean and flavorful. I love Pho,My first time spending time in San Diego and this was one of the recommended spots given to me by a local and boy were they right.I had the chicken pho bowl and it came out to perfection.Their spring rolls are okay but dipping it into that peanut sauce makes it 10x better.If I could I would go back to this place again. Dont listen to bad reviews about this place, I honestly cant understand where any of that is coming from. This is my go to spot (and I circulate between about 5 spots in the area) for pho. Staff is polite, food is quick. Its consistent, which is my main complaint about other spots I go to, and I think it has some of the best broth flavor out there. Also, better quality rare steak than some places, that will remain nameless...

Best Pho restaurant in Pacific Beach hands down. Its a local staple, been open forever, and family owned. It is my go to spot for a big bowl of Chicken Pho. Great location, not much room for parking, but who cares about a little exercise, plus plenty of street parking. I was really approached and seated, everything I ordered came out immediately fast, but not alarmly so. The food was very fresh and delicious so you could tell they dont prepare it way ahead of time in anticipation for the lunch rush. I got Thai iced tea with boba, spring rolls, egg rolls, and shrimp pho and for only $1.25 extra you get double meat. Good deal. The staff is fast, amiable and accommodating. All I can say is go for the Bahn mi pork?. No, I didnt try it, but that seems to be the favorite dish according to the reviews. Me, what did I have? Well, I tried to have a couple of veggie spring rolls. The kind that arent fried, you know the fresh ones. They came with some sauce. I think there was 5 or 6 of them on a plate. I was sharing with a friend. I am usually a Veggie Fan. However, with these I finished the one I tasted, to be polite. I then suddenly became sooooooooo...ooooo. I was there to pick a shrimp fried rice. My god the fried rice was bad and tasteless and inedible. Real waste of my $10. I believe the fried rice was Made early in the day and just heated up and lay with 5 shrimps. Rice was hard and dry and the corn n peas too. Wow big regard. Been here a few times during San Diego area visits with the wife, and we even treated an old friend to dinner here last year. Not quite up to the standards set by my favorite Vietnamese joint (in Las Vegas), but very good. I dont get too adventurous... Mostly eat Pho ga, and love a good BBQ pork fried rice. Egg rolls are not Vietnamese(vermicelli noodle,dried fungi,ground pork,carrot,etc) authentic style, more like Chinese(only cabbag and carrot are used). Pho soup doesnt have a true spices aromatic(anis,cinnamon,coriander,etc..) to it. Special curry chicken dish is overly sweet power other ingredients. Wouldnt recommend to anyone who look for authentic Vietnamese dish.

When I lived in Pacific Beach many moons ago..this place started my pho addiction. After several years I have crept back to my old local haunts and this was the latest.So lets go location first and this is thr only reason for 4 instead of 5. If I could do a .5 I would. Its on Garner ave tucked away next to a animal boutique . parking is a pain, especially if you have a SUV or truck. A small lot so watch your bumpers. There is parking in back ( disabled friendly) thats more,forgiving than Garnet traffic but still small area and spaces.The food. I got a Bahn mi pork Sammie and a bowl of rare steak, flank and brisket.The Sammie was delicious. I like how they serve the pickled veggies and huge sluces of jalapeno on the side, along with cilantro..ok maybe the bread wasnt fantastic, perfect baguettes can make a bahn mi but the pork was chard bbq awesome and picked veggies including pickle sliced cucumber to match the jalapeno.Thier broth is a bit more aubtle than most, good salt and lots of lemon grass..if you like refined over meaty you will love it. The meat is where it shines, lots of pink rate steak, melt away brisket and chewy flank. The noodles hold the broth well and dont make it a 5 min game of trying to get a mouth full while its sliding off your chop sticks..add some sriracha and hosin and it still holds its identity.The ice tea was ..bleh..kind of weak but oh well. Clean and friendly staff plus for under $13 for a great bowl of pho and a yummy Sammie..still my fav PB pho

Terrible, cheap, and not worth it. I was feeling sick, and felt Id try this place I hadnt realized was there before (I wonder why...). I did order take out, so I cant say much about the service or the location itself. No hoisin sauce was included with the take out order. Strike one. I ordered extra meatballs in mine. I got 5 meatballs the size of what looked like a regular pho meatball cut into fourths. You can clearly see theyre trying to keep the portion sizes minimal, which really irks me. Strike two. I asked for an order of vegetable egg rolls, I actually got rice paper vegetable spring rolls. Not the end of the world, and it saved me some calories, so there was a silver lining. Ill ignore that strike. But the feather that broke the camels back was the pound of fat that my roommates pho came with. He ordered brisket, and as I write this, he continues to pull massive chunks of fat from his mouth. A big strike three. There are several other little things I could nit pick on, but I digress. Save yourself the frustration, and walk the extra block to Pho Time. Yes, just one block away gets you a guaranteed good bowl of pho.

One of the worst Pho Ive ever had. Its the kind of really cheap stuff that they give you a lot of. The noodles were bad, the beef was terrible, the soup bland with nothing but salt and the bean sprouts were 3rd grad. Atmosphere was bad and the servers spoke little English.

The food for the most part is very good. I had ordered a pho bowl of soup...which im sure would have been good (my friend liked hers) but they had put some vegetable or spice in my broth that I did NOT like. When I asked if I could get something else, because I didnt like it, i just a blank stare...like he didnt understand me when I said i didnt like it. When he brought me the chicken fried rice (which is the dish i chose after not liking the soup) my friend asked if ue could remove the soup from the table.....and again a blank stare...he asked us where he should take it!?
