Nice place but the menu was needlessly complicated. It was a bit on the pricey side but not horrible. I had pho with meatballs and sirloin and it was very tasty. My wife enjoyed her meal as well.. Vermicelli with pork and vegetables. Service was sufficient!
Yummy pho. My kiddos loved it and so did the adults. Service was quick and my kids loved the water feature.
The food was just okay. My son has been pho which he said was good. Salad rolls (called spring rolls here) and meat over vermicelli, both with pork were not very authentic. The pork almost had a candied flavor and was almost as dry as jerky. The same pork was in the salad rolls. The server was very nice and attentive.
The chicken noodle soup was delicious and the service was great they were kind and quick and the atmosphere was calming

The bowls were too big. I wonder if they had a smaller size. The inside was impressive compared to the outside. Very clean inside. I liked this place.👍

Absolutely the most flavorful soup I have been able to find. Their egg noodles have perfect texture and flavor. The meat is okay. I recommend their wonton noodle soup, and to substitute bok choy with broccoli.
Meh. Pretty generic and overpriced.$25 for a pho bowl that didn’t have much meat, and the soup was pretty standard.Good place if you’re not pho picky.

We received the wrong order thru Doordash; when we called the restaurant to see what happened and what could be done, the first person was unwilling to help and just got us off the call promising to call us back. We called again because we didn’t get that call back and a different person essentially said yes the orders were mixed up and nothing could be done and he just worked there. We finally resolved the order with Doordash. We won’t try this restaurant again
I think getting the banh mi in the evening was not the best choice. It was tasty but light on filling and the bread wasnt toasted. Ill have to try again lunch time.The pho was decent. I hope they continue to grow and add a rare steak option.Ill be back
This review is going to be based on two dine in visits. I was excited for a Vietnamese place to be in Davis because I do not like the other one that’s in town.First time: it was around dinner hours. The inside decor was nice. There were a few tables already filled there. They didn’t seemed to be well staffed so it took them awhile for someone to pop out and be able to seat us. We got our menus and I looked at the selection. Interesting to see some Chinese dishes as well that I was curious about for another time. I was there to try the basics: spring rolls, banh mi and pho. My friend and I shared the shrimp and pork spring rolls- they were good and the peanut sauce was delicious. I wished there was more to dip. Next my banh mi came out. I ordered the special banh mi that had the egg, grilled pork and cha lua along with the typical fixings. It came as a “meal” with sweet potato fries and a drink. The banh mi bread itself felt fresh and nicely toasted. The filling was a bit skimpy but tasty enough. I love the fried egg as you don’t see many places do that around here. I was not pleased with the sweet potato fries as there were only a few on the plate and they were overdone. What’s the point of this? To sell it at a higher price point? They should scrap the fries/drink meal idea and just fill up the sandwich more. Last, came out the pho. I got the small filet mignon and beef balls. The beef balls were typical bo vien so I was content but the meat was thick, tender and delicious. I haven’t had beef in pho like that and it was worthy. There were a good portion of noodles. The broth was clear and tasted decent on its own. Overall, the meal was satisfying and I was looking forward to trying this place again. The service was decent but they do need to hire more people.Second visit: this was around lunch hour. I was craving some spring rolls and pho, so I went back to see if the first time was a fluke. Unfortunately, this time the food was truly disappointing and killed my craving for Vietnamese food in Davis. I waited awhile for someone to pop out until I was seated. He was nice, but they do need more staff in general. I ordered the shrimp spring rolls and a small filet mignon pho since the meat was so tasty last time. My spring rolls came out and I was excited until I started eating. For some reason, there was a slight sour aftertaste. I think something went bad in the peanut sauce. I kept trying and tasting but that sour taste did not go away. I kept picking at it and taking it apart to pinpoint what was wrong. I was hoping the pho would redeem this already terrible meal. As I saw my bowl arrive and placed in front of me— I was confused because the meat did not look the same. It’s the thin slices of eye round that I would get at any pho place. There wasn’t much of the meat as I was hoping since I didn’t get the beef balls this time and there was barely any noodles. I was truly unimpressed. They’re still new, so maybe they have things to work out these inconsistencies. Maybe I’ll try this place again at later down the road but I definitely lost my appetite for it.
Bahn mi had a very large jalapeno and cucumber, should have been sliced thinner. There was not a lot inside of the sandwich but the BBQ pork was good. According to my friend, her pho was not good. The meat tasted like it was old and the noodles were mushy. The broth was good. The spring rolls were okay, a ton of lettuce.
2nd Vietnamese place in a row Ive been to that has pho with fried onions but no basil. Has inflation out put basil out of reach? Though I tasted no anise, broth was flavorful, rice noodles were very chewy and sticky which made consuming hot soup a tad more difficult than Im used to. Staff was attentive, but I was the only person dining in so...
Had very enjoyable lunch here : BBQ pork rice plate, large steak pho (My 91yr old godmother did finish it!!), large special pho and veggie banh mi. Great time had by all. Friendly and efficient staff, pretty busy Sunday lunch time and seemed everyone was having fun. Easy parking across the street in public lot( that was pretty full when we arrived tho.Pho broth was hot and rich and savory (nice amount of brisket & steak, but Iit could have had more tendon & tripe), pork bbq was nicely charred and tender(wife always orders rice plates) and banh mi bread was filled with fresh ingredients that just made the day more sunny and bright and enjoyable .Definitely worth it and well deserving of their high rating. 👏 When in Davis have the tasty pho at Pho Tasty 😋 👌
Came here early on a Saturday evening looking for a no frills pho experience, choosing to forgo the Vietnamese/Chinese fusion spot nearby in favor of something new. We were pleasantly surprised that pretty much everything we experienced either fulfilled or surpassed our expectations: my tofu banh mi came with a drink and a side for only $7, and the sandwich was about a 1/3 bigger than the last banh mi I ordered from a pho spot. The peanut sauce was addicting, my partner’s XL pho was a very generous portion for the price, and the Thai tea was only lightly sweetened and DELICIOUS. The menu was simple, well organized and easy to read.We also loved the ambiance inside; from the outside there isn’t much signage, and at first we weren’t sure it was open, but as soon as you go inside it’s a whole different world: high ceiling, lots of natural light and plenty of space between tables. We happened to be there when it was slow, so I’m aware that we may have gotten lucky with our experience, but this place has all the makings of a GREAT mainstay pho spot. I’ll definitely be picking up another $7 banh mi combo on my way out of town.
Lovely set up inside. However, it needs a lot of work, egg rolls taste bought. Bahn mi, skimping on ingredients, seriously nugget makes it better. Please learn how to cook with tofu, it tastes like deep fried cardboard. Way too much fish sauce in their Bún. Still early days so will need to come back.

The Vietnamese coffee was superior! It is brewed from scratch and strong. Service was great! Everybody was super kind and inviting. The bun bo hue was delicious! And the interior was spacious and very unique.
The Spring rolls had a soapy flavor and the chicken noodle soup had next to 0 chicken in it. I know theyre under staffed right now and I have had lots of good experience is here today was an off day.
They just opened, so I will try again and update the rating once they have things running a little more smoothly. We ordered the pho with meatballs and bahn mi. The pho had very little flavor, and the more lime, basil, jalapeno I added, the less flavor it seemed to have. The meatballs in the pho were cut WAY too big and made eating it difficult. The bahn mi was pretty tasty, but it did not have as much filling as normal bahn mi sandwiches Ive had. We got about 6 fries with the sandwich which was... odd. The bahn mi is supposed to come with wonton soup, but we never received the soup. We were underwhelmed with the rest of the meal, so we didnt bother flagging down the waitress to request it. The meal took about 40 minutes to come out with only a few other tables/pick up orders. Seemed like a long wait for items that should pretty much already be made and just need assembling. I will try the restaurant again, but I may skip the pho and try the vermicelli. I will order the bahn mi again, but Ill go in knowing it wont be a ton of meat.
The server does not have great attitude, the rice was dry enough to make feel that I am eating raw rice. My friend chicken soup noodle just like the noodle that can be brought in Safeway or Costco. It does not worth it to go. I definitely not recommending this place
It was ok at best. Pho was descent but the spring rolls with shrimp and beef were embarrassing. Just one or two shrimps and very little beef. Had to keep swatting the flies away unfortunately as well. I may come back just for the pho in the future
Not good. Soup base for the pho is not balanced taste, too much clover. Seafood noodle soup are full of fake fish, fake fish ball, fake crabmeat, nothing fresh. Mango smoothie has no mango taste. Would not recommend to anyone who wants to try Vietnam food.
Good and tasty food. Ordered an large and extra large bowl. Seems to be same amount of noodles in both. Although extra large cost more. Extra large bowl is wider on top but narrower on the bottom.
Excited that this place is open now! We got chicken pho take out, the staff was fast and friendly. Our pho was good, although we were a little disappointed to find the pho was missing the bok Choy (as described in menu). Regardless we’ll be back again! P.S. the dark windows and lack of signage makes it look very closed from front, but they’re not!

Got pork chop over rice. Me and my friend ate it. End up in hospital with a nasty case of food poisioning. Do not order anything else other than pho.

We had their Filet mignon and fat brisket pho and their vermicelli bowls, fresh spring rolls, and order of fried calamari, a little too oily for my liking, but overall food was very tasty.

Catfish has a strongly seasoned into the perfectly cooked fish, the texture of the meat was perfect. Adding the sauce onto the white rice with the fish balances the flavour. Bathroom was clean. Price is reasonable. Staff was friendly and helpful.

2022-04-22 15:40:20We were driving back from Tahoe when we need to place to fill up for dinner. Davis is a university town and there were lots of great food options available downtown. We picked this because of they had vegetarian pho, one of the 2 dishes we ordered. Both this and the seafood pho were very filling and delicious. Definitely coming back

2022-04-13 06:18:00The restaurant was alright. Not much on the menu. My only serious complaint is the serving size to price ratio. I can count on one hand how many pieces of fries there were and it wasn’t flavored with salt or anything. I ordered vermicelli and it was okay too. Pretty pricey for what it is. More than likely wouldn’t return or recommend to a friend.

Very fast, and likeable.I ordered tofu over vermicelli. It was good...tofu was cooked perfectly. Thai iced tea (yes, they have it) was nice to have.
