Piccolino Ristorante in Mission Viejo

This restaurant never disappoints. The patio outside is beautifully decorated and great ambiance. Food is always on point as well as the coffee and dessert. I ordered fish of the day, it was delish! Perfect portion sizes. Must go!

11/30/2023What an amazing anniversary dinner at Piccolino Ristorante in Mission Viejo. We were greeted by the lovely hostess, Sal, and Devor who all wished us a Happy Anniversary, it was so kind. We were seated at a wonderful booth that had a beautiful anniversary wish in golden confetti and were treated to a glass of champagne. We also saw Tina, who stopped by to chat and wish us Happy Anniversary. Jorge was our server extraordinare. The service by all staff was stellar. We had an amazing time. We started with drinks, and of course, my wife had her favorite tequilla drink. We also started with the wonderful bread and the eggplant appetizer, which was scrumptious. Jorge stopped by and took our entree order. My wife had the salmon entree, and I ordered the filet mignon and lobster tail. The food arrived, and the presentation and food tasted simply amazing. We enjoyed every bite. For dessert, we had the Spumoni with fresh fruit with cappuccino. Everything was first class.Highly recommended.9/13/23Another wonderful dining experience at Piccolino Ristorante. We were seated by the fantastic hostess in a lovely booth. Javier, our amazing server, introduced himself and took our drink and appetizer order. Sal, the proprietor and terrific individual, stopped by, and we chatted a bit and truly enjoyed our visit. Javier brought our Egglant soufflé and it was so tasty and made to perfection. My wife ordered the chefs special, Dover Sole, and I ordered the Salmon Entree. Both dishes were well presented and tasted heavenly. The bread is also quite yummy. We finished the evening with a cup of coffee and had a beautiful evening in a romantic and classy setting. We had reservations and, upon arrival, were greeted by staff and led to the dining room where a spectacular booth was reserved for us. Such a romantic ambiance and the staff are professional, polite, efficient, and just plain awesome! Tina, one of our favorite bartenders, stopped by to say hello, as did Terry, the manager. Such kind, caring and beautiful people!!! Davor or server was exquisite in his approach, attention to detail, outline of the specials and menu items, and just a wonderful and professional demeanor. The dining experience was a taste of heaven. We ordered two of the specials, with my wife ordering the swordfish entree, and I ordered the 8 Oz filet mignon with shrimp, and both dishes were presented beautifully and tasted that much better. The bread and butter were also a winner. We capped the evening with a bowl of berries complimented with two scoops of spumomi sorbet....yummy!Highly recommended!!!4/8/2023Simply the best Italian food in Orange County. This establishment has the most amazing dishes, outstanding service, and an ambiance that is worthy of romance. She led us to a wonderful booth, and our beautiful evening began. We had a visit from Terry, the manager, who offered us a taste of a wine recommendation, and we visited for a short while. Terry introduced us to Oscar, our server, and we ordered drinks and the eggplant souffle, which was beyond words. After our salads, we ordered our entrees, and my wife had the salmon entree while I ordered the filet mignon and shrimp special.We are so thankful to have gotten to know Sal, Terry, and the staff at Piccolino as they are like family. Luis was very attentive to food delivery and ensuring that we were satisfied with the meal. For dessert, we had cheesecake with spumoni and double cappuccino. Oh my goodness! Heaven!Highly recommended.3/30/2023Another homerun tonight at Piccolino Ristorante.I ordered a bottle of Cote de Rhone and my wife a tequilla .cocktail. Then Liah took our appetizer order; French onion soup and a Cesar salad, so good. We then ordered the entrees, halibut entree for the wife, and I had the eggplant with parardelle bolgnese, simply amazing.We topped off the evening with a cappuccino and spumoni gelato, pure heaven. Highly recommended..

Food is exquisite. Couple mixups with drink order. Melanzane Parmigiana (Eggplant Parmesan) is the best Ive had. Swordfish was ample sized, moist and tasty. Layered chocolate cake with coffee topped it all off. Oh, my wife and the newlywed couple with us were good too.

This restaurant was recommended by an Italian gentleman to us because he loves their freshly made pasta. The food and service were wonderful. The menu has some Sicilian influence thanks to the owner.I loved both risottos I had. Oso bucco was tender and flavorful. The last time I had bone marrow was when I was a child so it brought back some good childhood memories. Seafood pasta was devoured by my wife. At the end we were both too stuffed to go for dessert, so we each got an espresso.

Ambiance was great. Perfect for date night. Service was excellent very attentive. Food was alright. Started with bruschetta and calamari for apps, entree portion was adequate, flavorful but could have used more.

This is the real Italian cusine restaurants in Mission Viejo. Very large area and sophisticated atmosphere. There are many real Italian food menu and wine selections are good and reasonable.I had the chefs recomandations. Everythings wonderfool.

We love the food and service here. When we visit my son this is our go to. I have very high expectations when it comes to Italian food being born and raised by Sicilan hone cooked meals all my life .

Mediocre food and service. Was really looking to like this place after reading many reviews. The grilled wedge salad was half soggy, the lobster ravioli pasta noodle was thick and was not cooked through. The center was still cold and dish was topped with thick lukewarm sauce and unwanted surface skin that formed by probably sitting in the back too long. They did quickly replace but it just tasted microwaved. Hubby’s lasagna was not bad nor great, pasta again was thick. Tiramisu was good. The spumoni was ok but was charged more than what server said. Service was lacking and server did not apologize for the cold ravioli or spumoni charge. Ambiance was standard for the prices at this place. Would not recommend due to high prices, low quality, and careless service.

I wanted to like this place. First time here, we came on Sunday off hours at about 3pm. Got sat right away - this place is amazing inside, not your typical strip mall restaurant. Very nice inside. Service was quick as we were the only ones there. We ordered the following: Margarita Pizza and Tortellini for my kids. My wife had a version of Spaghetti with gluten free pasta and I had the Shrink Scampi over angel hair pasta. Drinks - Kids had coke, my wife a glass of Reisling and I had water. Kids maybe had 1/3 of theirs, as did my wife. I had most of my Scampi - I was hungry ....BUT it smelled fishy, like it wasnt fresh. My wife tasted it and said right away it wasnt fresh. The angel hair was fresh, but globbed together in the center and tasted doughy. The scampi sauce was mid. In the end, the wine was good. My wife said when we got in the car - that the place was a 5 (out of 10) and she was being nice. BTW, that meal was $134 plus tip - I gave $20. So $154 for a mediocre meal. We ate at Maggianos a couple weeks ago for less and had much better food and had dessert!

Beautiful restaurant, poor food flavor, decent customer service. Unfortunately none of the items met expectations. Meatballs had good flavor but they were served cold, frutti the mare or seafood risotto disjt. Impress, very dry and the sauce tastes like can sauce. The tiramisu though was amazing
