If you like burnt, inedible food, this is the place for you. Last week we ordered 4 pizzas, all burnt to a crisp. Went back to complained and the young lady was apologetic and gave me free pizza cards. So we decided to try again. I went in and even explained to the staff what happened, get home and only 2 were burned to an inedible state. I am beyond disappointed.

Wow. Should have listened to the reviews! Yesterday we ordered 2 pizzas online, 1 of them had an after bake fiery Buffalo sauce. Got home and they added that SUPER HOT FIERY sauce to BOTH pizzas. I don’t do spicy so my pizza is inedible see pic. Tried to call 3x no answer, still hungry. Thought I would just order again via delivery and call to complain next morning.Well, jokes on us because they screwed up the delivery order too mixing up the toppings including cilantro on hubby’s pizza and he’s allergic. No answer on phones, no refunds in sight. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS LOCATION. Don’t bother “sharing with your team” unless you plan to contact me for 2 refunds. Otherwise, we won’t be back! 👎🏽

Worst pizza I have had in a long time. After paying a $3.50 premium for a gluten free crust (why?), I tried to choke down my custom pizza that was burnt on the bottom and cold on the top. I was there around lunch time and there were only a few people there. You can see the cost cutting measures a business takes when it is failing and it is evident here. What happened to the specialty drinks? Gone. Pizza crust selection? Reduced. Ingredient quality? Reduced. I used to like this place but its my last visit on my $15 pizza

Honestly every time I eat at this location which has been three times it’s been a disappointment. I just ordered for Uber eats delivery and the pizza is missing crust on half the pizza. They cut it completely off. Plus the pizza is freezing cold.

This pizza is so bland. I asked for the chicken BBQ and added extra toppings on It and get home and there’s no BBQ and no tomato sauce on it. I should’ve checked it before leaving. No wonder why it’s so bland. Taste like uncooked dough with toppings added to it.

Used to be good 😥. Over the past year and a half, I have been severely disappointed in my pizzas, they are consistently undercooked, very light on the toppings, and ingredients are forgotten often. It takes a couple of minutes to put the pizza together and a few minutes to cook it - but they nearly always dont have anything ready for almost 40 minutes. Employees dont really seem to care to hustle and move hilariously slow. Pieology has really has gone downhill. I dont love eating raw pizza dough, could you guys please work on that? I used to order all the time, but theyve lost my business. Better off going to 7-Eleven next door and getting one of their pizzas, sadly, those taste better.

I Extremely BAD service I received tonight! I am angry and cant even enjoy a good pizza! I waited over an hour for two very simple, meatless pizzas. My pizzas sat there while people came n went, 10 people after me went, including online orders. I finally questioned the manager and she said nobody put numbers on the pizza, therefore her solution was to just let them sit there n get cold. Once I got home and opened the boxes, I was even more upset. They were BOTH BURNED! Worst service EVER!!

Really sad because I used to love this place. Used to be a great option for takeout and reasonably priced, but they have gone downhill. My last purchase from here about a week ago was a pathetic excuse for a pizza. Smaller than what it should have been and barely any toppings. Won’t be coming back unless they make some changes.

I saw the bad reviews, still planned to visit it. The place was dirty and run down. No aroma. Kitchen was dirty too. Staff was unhygienic. Still made mistake to order pizza. Im not sure what happened with this location, but it has gone downhill. Took 30 minutes to get a pizza with 4 people in front of me. Pizza was undercooked. This isnt the first, and now I will not be back. I used to come here often. Owner / Management needs to get it together. Staff is overwhelmed and onderstaffed.

I had to change my rating from a 5 to a 3. The last few times i have gone here, the pizza prep areas are messy. Flour and ingredients are scattered all around, which at best is unappetizing, at worst creates risk for gluten free folks. My last pizza had a lot of dark ashes on the bottom of the crust that stuck to it from the oven. I hope that they clean it up because when its done well, the pizza here is great

Pizza was extremely burnt and inedible. Lemonade tasted nasty, it smelled like sewage water it reeked. Not exaggerating something was very off. This place never picks up the phone unless the workers feel like it. After several calls I called to inform them nicely only about the lemonade and let the pizza thing slide and they slammed the phone and hung up on me…?? this place went downhill. Highly recommend to not go to this place, stay far away from here and buy elsewhere because the food is nasty, burnt, unhygienic, and to top it off disrespectful. My family and I pulled up at Pieology at 10:55 five mins before they open at 11am and a minute later the girl put up this ghetto sign. I understand places are short staff, but they shouldn’t make up changes at last minute. There was just 5 of us so your telling me 2 people couldn’t make 4 pizzas at 11am? At least acknowledge that you have people waiting at the door instead of just putting up a sign because you think you two people can’t handle making four pizzas.

Absolutely amazing! Went for the first time Wednesday with my family. It was already super busy, but we ordered a total of 8 pizzas all made they way each of us wanted, at a very reasonable price, and received them all within 15 minutes! Tried a little of each pizza, all super delicious!Went again today with my wife. Once again, super quick, bursting with flavor. Pizzas are a decent size and you can add whatever toppings you want! Its like a subway for pizza! Definitely recommend checking this place out. This place needs a lot of help. Very poor service. 1 employee working by herself, almost no toppings available. My pizza was burnt because of the employee attending to other customers. Had to remake it again, the second had no difference, it was burnt again. What topped it off is that she had it sitting on the counter. So I spent almost my whole hour lunch waiting for burnt cold pizza. But I cant blame the poor employee. This is on the oweners. They were nowhere to be found. You expect customers to keep coming back?... I feel sorry for the employee.

Im allergic to gluten and to all dairy products, my body will attack me if I have them. And if I get cross contamination Ill get sick and need benadryl.This place was amazing!! Their gluten free crust is also dairy free!!! I was so excited!! They used different sauce containers and different serving spoons, they even changed their gloves when they found out I was allergic to some foods. They did sick a great job of making sure that my dish was allergy free!!! I love this place!!!! It was my first time here. Amazing!!!!! No allergic reaction for me!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Unfortunately we wont be coming back to this location. The staff has changed and theyre extremely messy and unhygienic. We saw multiple employees do disgusting things like touch their phone then give you your cup with their fingers inside the rim. Another worked the register, touching cash and change then made a pizza. No gloves or hand washing in between.

Great, affordable pizza in Escondidio. I stumbled upon this place after being sorely disappointed at the nearby Staples due to their lack of reasonably priced stationery for the office. Fortunately, Pieology has an array of crusts and toppings for $10-15. The cheapest is Artisan crust with as many toppings as you want. For the more finicky eaters, they have gluten free crusts and vegetarian toppings. Now if only they served beer...

Food here is great. The costumer service was horrible. Wish they wore name tags to specify the person in question who gave me this bad costumer service. Came in with my girlfriend took them 18 minutes to even take our order while nobody was in front and they were giving us dirty looks. Finally the girl was like what do you want in a rude way never asked what pizza we wanted. And when asking the red sauce I thought she was talking about the garlic bread we got the reason I thought she said that is because she kept mumbling so I couldnt understand her. When I finally understood her she raised her voice at me and my girlfriend saying I kid you not really. Don’t clean up after themselves, food everywhere, pizza dough not even stored in a cool place was left out which increases its chances of putting in the food temperature danger zone. The guy was using the same glove for everything, food, doors, handles which didn’t look clean at all. The dining area was dirty, pizza boxes were left on the register counter. Pieology never disappoints! I absolutely love their pizza. It is packed with flavor. I love how I get to pick exactly what I want in my pizza. Just the right size. Can even share with someone! They have added some new items to their menu. They now have the Bambino option and the Thick Crust option. I have not tried either of them, but I am sure they will not disappoint.

Order 5 pizzas online. Went to go pick them up when my app alerted me that my pizzas were ready for pick up. I went to pick up pizzas and only 1 was done. I ended up waiting 45 mins. My pizzas were cold and saugy from the after bake sauce. Such poor customer service. Severely disappointed in my most recent order at Pieology. I’ve been getting pizza here on occasion over the last 2 years and it’s always been pretty decent, not amazing but decent. Todays order was sorely lacking. I didn’t know how you mess up pepperoni pizza, but now I do. You cut back on cheese, like literally large chunks missing over the entire pizza, as well as the quality of the cheese, think the cheap mozzarella used on stadium pizzas, yuck. I know food prices have hit us all but $40 for 2 lacking personal pizzas and side salad is ridiculous. Glad I didn’t add even more for a tip. Moving on, won’t be back.

Ok $10 fast casual pizza place. The place is kind of a mess. Might be short staffed. The cheese leaves something to be desired. Sauce is good. They need to balance their toppings better. If its overloaded with toppings the dough is almost always raw in the middle. Lastly they need to pay better attention to sweeping/scraping the oven of all the excess cornmeal that is all burned up. On this second visit I went straight pepperoni and mushroom. I like cheese but this particular brand seems to be very cheap and plastic texture as it sets and cools, not a great sign. First visit I didnt know pesto sauce could be basically flavorless.

What happened to the pie press????? The pizzas were definitely smaller, less toppings, burnt bottoms, too much burnt flour on the bottom as well, did not brush the crusts with the herb butter as requested.....and was 15 minutes delayed for 8 pizzas.........disaapointing gonna have to find a different place......$112 not well spent....

Pieology is a great concept. For me it was the first time doing a line-style ordering of a pizza like getting a sandwich at subway. Its a lot of fun, except when the workers just stare at you like a idiot. What do you want? Well I dont even know what Im looking at... 5 kinds of cheese Im no expert would you mind telling me what they are and not rolling your eyes? Also I like how you forget to mention you have spices too.. its just what meat do you want? No suggestions or guides anywhere to look at. Just a bunch of meats and cheeses ... fine if you know how to blend these things to make something youll really love. But dont expect any help or even patience from the workers. Maybe I just went at a bad time. It was only moderately busy on a sunday. The za itself tasted great, the pierise crust was on point. They call it thick but its not really... I wonder how tiny the thin crust is. I wouldnt say my pizza looked like any of the pictures it was pretty sloppy but the flavor is what matters I guess. For the price it was well worth it, personally just a little thrown off that theres nothing and no one to help you through what should be a really great experience but somehow falls short.

This place normally works out. The pizza is good, and their service has always been satisfactory...until NOW.Boy did every single worker fall short tonight, and there were 6 OF THEM! They were all very busy, but Im not sure what they were doing because it most certainly was not taking care in what they do.The pizzas my partner and I had ordered were placed on the wrong to-go shelf so they were just sitting there for 10 minutes while we waited for no reason. When we got them home, we were shocked and appalled at the mess we found when we opened the boxes:The toppings were correct on one, but incorrect on the other. The pesto pizza was MISSING THE PESTO (for Petes sake!) and it hadnt even been sliced properly! Not only that, but it was clear that the ovens had not been cleaned or even swept out because BOTH pizzas were COVERED underneath in old, greasy, grimy, blackened crumbs.When we tried to call the establishment (during peak dinner hours by the way) it... just.. rang off the hook. My partner went to see if we could get them remade and I continued to call in hopes of reaching someone to tell all this to. No such luck on my end.My partner arrived and found out that through some incredibly bad-for-business policy, their employees arent even ALLOWED to answer the phone! WHAT?! Pieology, you have dug yourself into a lovely little hole. Its unfortunate that though the manager replaced the pizzas without a problem, we will NOT be returning. It just isnt worth it.

Just had the worst restaurant experience ever, and I have hardly ever complained over such a thing. First, I waited at the front of the line for at least 10 minutes while they made about 10 pizzas for online orders. Then, when I was given my pizza after paying with a tip and waiting I was given the wrong one, also was beyond burnt. I figured it out in the car. When I brought it back and said it was the wrong pizza they told me to sit back down and wait for my actually pizza which would take another 10-20 mins. Well, I finally was called and it was the wrong pizza again. They told me I would have to get back in line and order again, wth?? So I asked for my money back, was a credit card. They gave me cash and not as much as I paid. So, we had to discuss that as well. I went to another place to get food afterward. While I was dealing with this a nurse came in and almost broke down cause they couldn’t find here order, which was for doctors and nurses. The workers didn’t seem to care one bit, she was almost crying. -10 for service!I am looking into contacting corporate and complaining about this location. It is now dirty, under staffed, and just unacceptable to any standard above 0.

Their service quality has gone down. They had to remake my pizza because it fell apart in the oven. I understand that, but they didnt ask me what ingredients I had on it, so they guessed. Meanwhile Im just waiting and waiting patiently while my other 3 pizzas were just sitting there getting cold. When they finally told me, I asked what ingredients they put on it. They missed several ingredients, so now they had to make it a 3rd time. I was there for almost an hour. I always go here 🤣 I love Pieology in comparison to Dominos or other pizza places because 1. they dont charge per topping, 2. they have gluten free crusts 3. dairy free cheese and 4. tons of topping options!! They didnt have the dough press so it took longer since they did it by hand, there were 6 people working but no one seemed to be helping anyone ( since it was backed up) the register couldnt scan since the app had to be deleted and reset then they couldnt put the points on it. Complete distrusting! Employees are seen leaving the restroom and not washing their hands. They don’t wash their hands after coming from the back. Completely rude and have a attitude as if us being here is an inconvenience. Don’t even try using the app or order ahead. They literally look at the receipt and put it to the side u til you say something. All they say is yeah order head is useless and they don’t pay attention until you go to the counter to ask for your order. Management needs to be retrained or something, clearly no one knows how to do anything right there. Sad seeing that 90% of the job is taking the order from the customer.

Dealing with the staff there, not so much.All young kids and hard to find an adult in charge.We ordered a pizza and asked for pineapple on it, no problem we got that. But then we asked for ham.too. However we had passed the meat station and we were informed by the guy at the vwggie station that wed have to wait until someone came over to put the ham on the pizza. Veggie guy is standing right next to the meats but he couldnt reach over and throw some ham on the pizza.apparently! Not really customer focused at this place.

Great pizza when the right staff is working, the majority of the staff is awesome friendly and super helpful there are however a couple who really make you feel that your inconveniencing them by being there. Still one of my sons favorite spots so no avoiding it. There is a young man who is joining the military who works there who really is an awesome employee with great customer service.

Disappointed. The employees seem absolutely untrained. They all seem like they don’t know what they are doing. There were ten people at the counter at one point, and all of them seemed lost. Everybody seemed exhausted and unenthusiastic. I had to come back five times to get one issue resolved with my order. Finally on the fifth time, the shift leader understood the mistake that had been made. The problem was solved, but the pizza was cold in the middle, sliced poorly, and just gross. Please train your poor employees so that they can provide an outstanding service like they had the first time that I had been here. I don’t think I will be returning, it was just awful.

This place is really going down hill. They removed the fun quotes from the wall, the prices are all $10 even for a plain cheese pizza, and they tell you they are out of pepperoni but then 2 customers later they go in the back and bring out more pepperoni. The chaos at pieology is typical of what ive seen across California and that is there is little to no leadership in these stores. The owners put the best young people they think in to do a mature persons job and the result is a total debacle.Its not fair to the young people and what they dont understand is they are being set up to fail and fail they do.Maybe not intentionally but good intentions dont make up for bad leadership. Someone who knows how to do it needs to be present to show the young people how to be professional.Some were trying to do it right while others were standing around texting.They put the wrong pizza in my to go box and i was very disappointed because the pizza was made up of ingredients i dont like, i was miles away when i discovered the mistake.I feel bad for them because without good mentors your chance of success is little to none.For example i was in Florida recently and order two slices of pepperoni pizza and it was made by a real pro. This review is basically about the online ordering. Expect to wait 10-15 minutes longer than the time given online. I have used online ordering twice and both times I experienced a 10-15 minute wait and on this last time, my pizza was barely warm. Everything else is great about the place, but if you want hot pizza, I suggest going in. They are also, not consistent in how they serve the pizza. As I waited, they called 5 people by name to pick up their pizza. However I saw that they placed 3 pizzas (the size of my order) on the rack and didnt call a name. I went up and checked, yes they were mine. I was very disappointed about the entire process. I had a bad experience ordering food through the order food Google section so I recommend using the Pieology app. You need to try the cauliflower pizza its really good. One pizza should be good for two people, theres no medium, large or extra large sizes. If you havent been here before you need to know that ordering your pizza at this place is similar to ordering Subway, you start with what type of crust and then you select your toppings. My wife and went to Pieology for the first time last night. We ordered via the online app which was easy. Ordered at 4pm for. 5pm pickup.When I arrived at 4:45 to pick up the pizzas I was impressed with the look and cleanliness of the restaurant. The staff were super nice and I watched them make and cook pizzas.Heres where it started to go wrong.When I got there I was watching them cook and I noticed a pizza that seemed to match my order taken out of the box, cut and boxed and put back on top of the oven. Five minutes, the churro pizza was taken out and placed on top of the box I thought was mine. So yeah, it was our order.Ten minutes later, just a minute shy of five, my wifes order was done.I got the pizzas and went to home to enjoy them.I ordered a thin crust pizza which was flaccid, rubbery and had little or not flavor. And yes, it was stone cold. If you cant time the orders to come out at the same time then keeping them warm is a good idea. Pieology failed at getting even close to that.My wifes deep dish pizza was good. Hot and well prepared. She said it was good.The churro pizza, a dessert item, was, well, it was floppy thin crust not cooked enough and then slathered with some kind of weird icing. Eating it was rather like consuming some round rubber sheet sprinkled with cinnamon and the slathered in some artificial icing.We love trying new things and this experiment was deemed a failure. Failure to set up the order and cook it so everything came out hot at the same time. Failure to cook a thin crust pizza in a manner that left the crust crispy and not rubbery and tough. Total dessert failure. The people were nice and the place was cool but that in no way makes up for miserable food.I would not recommend Pieology. I know we arent going back because North County has lots of great pizza options.

This is my go-to place for pizzas. Not only do they have personal-sized pizzas, they also have gluten free and vegan options (each for $2). The wait time is usually no more than 5-10 minutes, and you can also customize your pizzas. Parking is usually not that horrible, but it can get slightly crowded during busy times. I am disappointed by my experience at this pieology location. The gluten free pizzas are significantly smaller than the original style crusts but are not advertised as such. When I voiced my concerns I felt like the girl at the register (long dark hair with glasses) did not listen or make me feel like I was heard. She also did not offer any alternatives or suggestions to fix the problem. If I wanted a small pizza I would have ordered a small pizza, but I am hungry and did not get an appropriately sized pizza. If youre looking for consistency, dont come to this location. Sometimes, they give me the military discount, sometimes Im just a dependent so you dont get it, but your active spouse does. Prices have increased, including a dollar more for wheat, which standard was free a month ago. The girl that rang me up was rude and made me feel unworthy of her service after being denied the military discount.If youv never been to a pieology, think Subway for pizzas - pick your crust type (wheat, cauliflower, thin, thick, gluten free) then choose your sauce type, cheeses, veggies, and meats. I recommend checking out a different location.

Service and cooking is fast and ordering is very simple. For one fixed price, you can get any and all toppings you wish to customize your pizza your way. When crowded and noisy, you may have to speak more loudly to be heard correctly. There is plenty of seating adequately spaced about to have comfortable seating.

We tried to order pickup on their website at 9pm, but upon completion, it got rejected, stating they were closed (they weren’t). We called to confirm they were open, and they told us to come in as they close at 9:30pm. We hopped in the car and when we arrived at 9:20pm they refused to serve us because they were closing. What a complete waste of time. It’s completely ruined our faith in Pieology.

One thing i always recognize at this place besides superior pizza is their wall of quotes, and recently, i found out they actually change some of these quotes too, keeping the wall fresh.... but anyways, back to their pizza... many places have done things like this but pielology by far does it best, it is like a subway sandwiches for pizza... choose your crust, choose your topping, choose your cheese, your sauce,.... everything.... want more? just ask... this is certainly one place i dont know to be skimpy, and they have QUALITY ingredients... even that kind of sausage that doesnt have an aftertaste... they even have gluten free options available... they are by far, the most unique, and one of the better pizza places that youve been to... not to mention they arent exactly expensive either... a whole pizza is (probably) less than $10 and comes with whatever you want on it.... if you havent tried pieology, you should definitely give them a shot
