Great place for brunch. It’s extremely relaxing and beautiful to sit outside, the food’s delicious and the plating is beautiful. Everything looks perfectly coordinated. It would be great if the accepted all forms of payments, besides that, everything was great.

Ive been catching buzz about Poppy & Seed for a while now, was so glad that our experience did not disappoint. At all.Im a sucker for short ribs, so ordered the short rib hash. The most generous amount of short ribs Ive ever had for the price... juicy...flavorful...heaven. the mix of root veggies added made me feel guiltless while on my healthy eating journey.One of my sons ordered pancakes... let me tell you... I couldnt resist stealing multiple bites. These are not your average pancakes. Promise.My younger son ordered a chicken salad type sandwich that was probably a little too mature for his palate. Our waitress had no hesitation taking a second order (pancakes) and bringing it right out. I insisted on still paying for the first plate but she made it clear that our satisfaction was priority.Honestly...I cant wait to return... the service, food and atmosphere beat most anywhere else youll find in OC.*dreaming of short rib hash🥰*

We enjoyed patio dining on the evening before Hurricane Hillary. I ordered the Tea Smoked Salmon and it was the best I’ve had, due to the combination of the smoke and magic preparation. Each component of the dish was cooked perfectly. Please tell me the last garnish was baby-corn popcorn. I loved it. I paired it with the re-tooled Evening Sun cocktail: balanced, complex, delicious. Place is alright. Need to step it up on the service. Very slow. Seen customers getting up to get utensils and straws then selfs. Since the waiter was not coming around. We were there for brunch waited 30 minutes before they even acknowledged. Pretty sad. Hostess that say us down didnt even tell waiter it seemed like. Tried couple of cocktails were good, but the service made them sour. We made the best of it. I personally wouldnt go back. First and last for me.

This is the first time I had dinner at Poppy & Seed. I was pleasantly surprised with the ambiance, food, and the service. I loved the vibes and decor the place had. It had an awesome outdoor seating area, but we chose to sit inside since it was a warm day. My friend and I were seated promptly and was soon greeted by our amazing server, Ronin. He was very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable of the drinks and menu.We started off with drinks. We had the Purple Rain which was perfectly balanced and refreshing. Later in the evening, we tried the Midnight Hour and P+S Old Fashion. The mixologist has done a very good job of making balanced and delicious cocktails. The Purple Rain and P+S Old Fashion came with a tableside pour/presentation. For the Purple Rain, Ronin poured the sweet and sour mix into our glass, which I presume was freshly made. The P+S Old Fashion came in a decanter filled with smoke. Ronin fancily swirled the cocktail in the decanter with the smoke, then poured it into my glass which had a large square ice cube and orange peel garnish. Im pretty sure the the rim of the glass was lined with the oils of orange zest. It was very good and the chocolate mole bitters was a nice touch.We ordered the Roasted Artichoke Halves and Tortelloni to start. They were both delicious. First time I ate artichokes that way, but it was very good. The Tortelloni was decadent and delicious. The black truffle and the creamy sauce really made the dish. My friend ordered the Pan Seared Diver Scallops which she loved. Perfectly cooked. I asked Ronin for a recommendation and he suggested the Lamb Shank. I was not disappointed. It was so flavorful and tender, the meat was falling off the bone. I didnt even need my knife. During our dinner, the General Manager, Karen, came to greet us. She was so friendly and we had a fun conversation with her. For dessert, we shared the Brûlée Peaches and Gelato & Brown Butter Waffles. They were both really delicious! The gelato tasted so fresh and creamy.We had an amazing dinner. Id like to thank Ronin and Karen for making our dinner feel extra special. They made us feel like regulars even though it was our first time there. Ill definitely be visiting again!

I love this spot for dinner. The servers are happy and friendly, ambiance is beautiful. The food is so flavorful and unique, it’s honestly rare that food tastes like food, even at nicer spots. I love their mushroom dish!! Not often you get to try so many unique and fun dishes. I’ve gone multiple times now and I swear I think it’s gotten better over the last 1.5 years!! Thank you!

We came here for brunch on a busy Saturday afternoon with a reservation and it was quite a pleasant experience !Our server was very friendly and attentive.We had a mix of reactions to the various dishes, however I very much enjoyed the food I had shared !The short rib hash was very delicious. The short ribs were still moist and tender. The eggs were cooked to our preference and the veggies gave it a good crunch.The brioche French toast was not too sweet and a good addition to our meal.The hash crisp was not salty which was great! The crispy was amazing .We also shared the duck horn cuvée mimosa kit with two bottles being enough for 8 of us!I was able to try the egg Benedicts. The biscuits were overly butterly and kind of addicting with it being more crispy than fluffy .

Went to Poppy &Seed for brunch and honestly dont know if I liked it or not. The atmosphere is great. Hipster brunch to the highest degree. Everything looks very pretty. But execution? I got eggs benedict and the biscuit they were on were hard. The coffee is extremely fancy but isnt that great. Definitely a spot of you want to have an insta worthy brunch but not much more than that for me.

Wow, the food here was delicious!!! The service here is fantastic, & the ambiance is spot on. For starters, we got the dish with clams/ & pasta. The pasta was the best!For entrees, we ordered the Wagyu and Branzino fillet with a side of Brocollini. Surprisingly, I felt the Wagyu plate had a lot of meat for the price, and I was delighted with the tenderness and quality.The fish was also very delicious, and so was brocollini. I really loved the cocktail “Snapdragon.” It was very refreshing and one of my newest favorite drinks!Snapdragon, Wagyu, branzino, broccolini, and claws/& pasta.

I don’t understand how this place doesn’t have a perfect 5-star rating! I dined here last night with my wife and absolutely loved everything. The staff was super friendly, the cocktails were awesome, the food was amazing and the directors of ops even took some photos of us and threw in some Family Guy references for good measure. Get the octopus and the scallops and the duck…actually order everything because it’s gonna be amazing. Thank you for a stellar dining experience!! -Eric

Fantastic place for brunch! Ive only tried brunch here so far. It gets busy so definitely try and make a reservation. It starts to get really busy around 11am so plan accordingly. They can also seat large groups but its best to email them ahead of time to ensure they can seat your whole group without a major wait.The best things Ive tried are the eggs Benedict (they use buttery biscuits as the bad, so good!), The french toast (Nutella and coconut), the burger, avocado toast, chicken and waffle all of which were all amazing!Definitely one of the best places in Anaheim to eat. Such a fantastic add to the Packing House District

Had an amazing brunch here for our anniversary! Food was amazing, service was even better, and vibes were immaculate! The drinks were delicious and food seemed very farm to table great quality! I had the short rib hash and my fiancé had the eggs Benedict and we both loved our meals. Would definitely come back here and recommend to anyone for a nice meal!

The interior with large windows and the lovely outdoor atmosphere are amazing! I chose an indoor seat and enjoyed the sunlight coming through the wide windows with brunch. My mom, sister, and I shared bagel, avocado toast, and eggs benedict, and we said the eggs benedict were exceptionally delicious. Of course, the bagel and avocado toast, coffee and juice were also delicious. I recommend visiting for brunch on the weekend! I will definitely try other foods. Staff was nice and friendly:)

Four of us walked into the restaurant around 10:40 am on a Sunday, there were only about 10 customers in the restaurant. We were told they could not accept walk-ins. When asked if they were fully booked they said no. They were not fully staffed. There was no mention on their website that they were not accepting walk-ins.We could have waited and chatted, had some drinks till they were ready to serve.So disappointing!

First of all, the food was AMAZING! - Happen to come here a bit by chance and by mistake, originally intended to grab food inside the Packing House building but since my husband and I were a bit in a rush and found parking closer to the Poppy & Seed we decided to try it out. So glad we did! We ordered drinks - Myself /Blooming Snapdragon (Mezcal) and the Sweet Southern Alyssum (Bourbon) husband - both were great! Since we didnt have too much time to order an entree each we tried the following : Grilled Octopus, Jerk Confit Duck Leg and Crispy Wild Mushrooms. All the dishes were extraordinarily delicious! The ingredients and combinations were so satisfying. Im definitely looking forward to our next visit here. The vibe and decor is fun, relaxing and classy. Service was awesome, from the moment we were greeted by the host to the help and knowledge from our server. Highly recommend for a date or for brunch or for any time you want to try some delicious food. Be patient though and come with time - quality and freshness takes longer than a usual drive thru line.

An impressive location and cool atmosphere. Feels youthful and fun, but luxurious enough where you want to dress well. Unfortunately I did not have the same impression of our meal. It ranged from alright to undercooked, and thats not great when the pricing is luxurious too.The biggest downer was a fingerling potatoes side with their wagyu steak dish - the steak was decent, but the potatoes were undercooked. Felt like slicing a raw carrot, and only our steak knives could slice through it. Katie was the worst Waitress I have ever had. Took a long time to get our drinks I ordered a coffee. She brought no cream and sugar took at least 10 minutes and somebody else brought it chicken was undercooked some other staff member came over and lectured us how. Chicken is supposed to be bloody and raw in the middle after it is cooked. I had hash which was potatoes and meat. And my potatoes and carrots were undercooked this place was horrible avoid it at all cost. I cannot believe the way we were treated. The gas behind us came in after us and ate and were finished before our food came out. It took an hour or longer for a food to come out. We had also made reservations for this day. I was looking forward to it and I would never go back

Food was very good. The fried chicken so tender the juices were dripping! The short rib hash was solid, but Im not sure I would order it again. At $20 a plate there wasnt much short rib. The biscuit was amazing. so flakey and crispy edges. But -1 star for service. We had a resy and the restaurant was only half full and It took over 10 mins for someone to greet us . Another 10 mins for our coffee and water to arrive. Our waitress was nice but every thing was super slow to arrive when they appeared to have plenty of servers for a half filled restaurant.

I brought my wife here for Valentines dinner. THE GOOD: Chef Michael is truly worthy of his James Beard nomination, the food was superb. THE BAD: the meal took over 3 hours to complete. THE UGLY: We were set in an awful seat next to the bathroom entrance even though we were the first guests to arrive. And did I mention we were also sitting among glass racks and back up storage refrigerator. Total miss for my experience.

Great restaurant for brunch! Plenty of seating inside and outside. Inside seating feels as great as outdoor bc its in a greenhouse type building. Every staff member was so friendly and hospitable. Update: Last two times Ive had breakfast here Ive noticed that the service has declined. I feel like the food isnt as good as before.We sat in the sun and no one offered to move the umbrella. It took way too long to deliver a beer. Server had to come by twice to apologize. Had to ask twice for your sauce.Probably will be a long time before I try it again. Still works recommend to a first timer though.One of my favorite places to go for breakfast. My go to is the chaquiles with short rib. The teas are we awesome. We went on Saturday for the Valentines Day dinner. The restaurant claims to be upscale and it certainly charges like that (prepaid almost $400 for a dinner for two). With that price tag come some expectations and we were utterly disappointed. First when we got there for our reserved table we had to wait 30 minutes because they were overbooked. When we finally were seated it took forever for the food to come out (most of it was bland and the presentation lacked). I had to constantly remind the waitress of the wine pairing (which we had purchased ahead of time). Furthermore, if you claim to be upscale people should not be sitting in there in shorts and t-shirts. But if that wasnt bad enough, the bartender was shamelessly flirting with my wife (in front of me) and even brought her over a shot of Tequila at some point. What kind of operation are you running? Stay away from this place! Worst experience ever!

I would give it zero star if I can! The worth service ever! I ordered the lox bagel and its burned. Also, my friend’s drink never shows up. I try to talk to the server but no one takes care of us even though I rise my hand for over 5-10 minutes! Finally, I walked to the server for help! Ava, the server followed me to the table and said “I didnt make it (the bagel)”. What an attitude! And and and I found a hair inside the latte. Was super excited to finally try the brunch here! Overall the place is nice and I would go for the more savory options vs sweet stuff. I really enjoyed the outdoor seating and vibe.But the French toast was like something you would make at home, the French press was $10 and full of coffee grounds and you could tell the womens bathroom wasnt cleaned from Saturday night and was out of toilet paper 😔 gross..We might come back to try the dinner menu and see if maybe brunch just isnt there thing.

Indoor open concept with high ceilings, edison bulb chandeliers, natural wood eclectic earthy vibe. Large outdoor seating. Large selection of craft cocktails. Phenomenal, but fun and casual service. My husband was craving the smoked fish and homemade chips appetizer and he absolutely loved it! In fact he wanted to order and second. Our entrees were perfectly prepared with many layers of flavor. We were too full for dessert, but they sounded decadent. We will be back.

I also didnt like the 4% health fee and included gratuity for only table of 6. Being in the packing district, the parking isnt great. Terrible service and awful management!I have been going to this place since their soft opening last spring and have been very understanding of their new and small business situation. I want to support our local restaurants, especially during COVID. However, they seem to continuously disappoint our local community (check other comments, and you will see they repeat their mistakes and bad experiences of other patrons). I do not see any improvement as a new restaurant over the year, quite the opposite.In addition to their unfortunate management, the service staff has an arrogant attitude in general, not respectful to their customers. Moreover, they do not apologize for their faults.During their early soft opening period, the restaurant opened one hour late on a couple of occasions. On both their official website and social media platforms, the opening time shows 9 am on Saturday and Sunday. However, when I arrive there at 9 am, I am told they open at 10 am instead, without apologizing for their mistake.*A couple of weeks later, I tried again for brunch at 10 am. It was open, but I was told the cooks came in late. They could only take drink orders first, and we need to wait to order food at 10:30 am.Another weekend, they were open but had some renovation work on-site (bar area). Once we were seated, we were told no drink service of that day.So, I decided to pause and let the restaurant grow a little bit. However, the service seems to have gone worse.Around six months later, we assume the restaurant should be past their new identity and provide a more experienced professional service to the community. We took our friends for brunch. We ordered five dishes, and they did not come simultaneously. One dish arrived more than 20 minutes later. The drinks did not come together either. Two drinks were super behind ( the drinks came when we almost finished our meal).The waitress does not familiar with the dishes. Some dishes are missing key dish ingredients. Clearly, the staff are not well trained. But more importantly, they dont feel sorry at all.After trying weekdays and weekends, brunch and dinner, small group and large group, not a single visit was satisfying. There is always something wrong.We stopped going there in the rest of the year 2021.In March 2022, we decided to give it another opportunity since the restaurant opened almost a year. Unfortunately, it turns out we will NEVER come back again! The reception people are NOT friendly and helpful. Their attitudes are arrogant and rude. As a person from a minority group, I dont feel welcomed.This restaurant proves how bad management and none-customer oriented service is a detriment to an otherwise potentially vibrant local dining experience.Does Anaheim need a restaurant like Poppy & Seed? Local people will share and tell. I wish I had written this review early, but it is never too late.Enough is enough. Bye!

Love this place. It reminds me of being in The LA area with the heavy traffic. Queenie, the awesome owner is such a sweetheart. She is easy going and easy to talk to. 👍🏻. Furthermore, Vanessa, the bartender makes exceptional cocktails. She worked at the speakeasy, Blind Rabbit, and her cocktails are spot on. She made us a drink with egg whites and it Taste like strawberry shortcake ice cream. It’s a must try.Define recommend this place to everyone. Especially those that love going out to LA and enjoying good atmosphere and good food. Because chef Michael picked out the perfect menu to serve and he makes delicious food.

Was looking forward to try this restaurant with great outdoor seating and atmosphere for celebrating family in town .Well the positive point stopped there : in 45 mn seating, we got 2 drinks . Because of the long wait, we asked to leave, manager response was : we are a 2 hours experience restaurant . Still not sure if it is 2 hours total or 2 hours to get your food ?Anyway we left hungry, still been charged 41$ for the 2 non alcoholic cocktail including those 20% gratuity for bringing 2 drinks but at this point, just wanted to leave this place. Also earth taxes applied among the regular taxes .Conclusion, worse experience ! Should of read previous reviews . Resident of Anaheim for the past 10 years, I saw restaurants come and go and I am looking forward to see this one being replaced .Shame on you !

Good things: biscuit and that the fancy butter was super yummy. The atmosphere is nice. You have indoor and outdoor seating. They also have heat lamps if your cold. Food was good, not out of your park good but good. Drinks came out quickly, except they coffee because they forgot.Bad things: service was meh. Forgot coffee, forgot my food. They brought out food for everyone else but me. Just my biscuit. Instead of apologizing the waitress implied my food was on the way. 10 mins later on the way. Everyone else was done eating and they had to wait on me. The table next to us as well has issues with their order.It was a good onetime experience.

This restaurant really left me in a bad spot, with no options, and on short notice. I had booked a business reservation a few weeks ahead for Saturday 10/8 for 14 colleagues town from all over the US at a massive conference. A couple days ahead, I get a call saying that theyll be closed for the weekend and my reservation is canceled! Left me with no options. Everything is fully booked or not accepting reservations. Hell of a way to manage a business! Feels as though they must have gotten an offer to buy out the restaurant for the evening and we were collateral damage.

Came here today about 11:30, we were told by the inept hostess there would be an hour wait without a reservation. The patio was 1/2 full. So we decided to leave. Upon leaving we checked online for reservation and there was availability at 11:45. We went back at 11:45 with a reservation, the hostess then whispers to another co-worker we just make our reservation and proceeds to take a party that came in after us. She then proceeds to tell us it would be 20-30 minutes. We explained we had a “reservation”, but she continued to say it would be 20-30 mins. My husband said, to just cancel the reservation and we left. I am actually really glad we didn’t eat there, because we found a great place right next door in the Packing District 206 BCE noodles. They have the best garlic shrimp and rice dish.

We tend to frequent the same handful favorites but today wanted something new.This was our first time dining here so we wanted to play it safe and made reservations before heading out to Poppy & Seed.Started with some libations:Old Cuban for me - made with fresh juice and house made syrup. Best way to mix a drink. So fresh and refreshing. And if I could, I would have ordered a second - but I am a light weight now *sigh*.Gin + Roses for him - This is one of their signature cocktails. st. george gin, amaretto, strawberries, lemon, basil syrup, club soda. This is also excellent. Definitely coming back for more!Food:Eggs Benedict with a choice of avocado, bacon, or smoked salmon + tomato - Smoked salmon was the one. And it was a good choice. Perfectly shaped poached eggs on top of salmon, heirloom tomato and a house buttermilk biscuit. Comes with a side salad. Everything about this dish was top notch.Buttermilk Fried Chicken and waffle - one wing and one thigh. Big ones! Our server suggested additional house made BBQ sauce and house jam along with the usual butter and syrup. So good! The wing needed to be fried just a little longer since it was such a plumpy wing. The thigh was perfect as it was boneless. Really good taste. And love the waffle pairing. One of my favorite sweet and savory dishes.Side salad - mixed greens and lemon vinaigrette. Had to have my veggies and this balanced well.Seasonal market fruit bowl - strawberries, raspberries, blackberriesBig portions by the way. Perfect to share.Service was good and friendly from host to server to bartender. Our server Clarisa was nice and even helped me choose my drink. Bartender personally came out to see how we enjoyed our cocktails. Even the chef came out to show concern of our meal. Much appreciation.The music - upon arrival to restaurant, Blondie was playing. Right then I had a good feeling about this place. Then some ABBA, Billy Joel, Michael Jackson, Kool and The Gang, Spice Girls, streamed. Good playlist.Outdoor seating is surrounded by a herb, flower and veggie garden. Today was a perfect day. We are fortunate to have good weather in SoCal. As a new restaurant it’s easy to have hesitancy but you can tell the bar manager Vanessa really cares and the food/drinks were a step above anywhere else in the area! Went to Poppy & Seed today— Sunday 2/27/22. I wish I could have any opinion about the food. There were 4 of us all speaking Spanish asked for a table outside. Saw the young man leave from the podium in the front to go clean more than one table. He came back to the podium where a young blond woman stood and little did they know that I could hear them speaking- he mentioned 2 female names (whose names I should have noted) and mentioned that neither of them wanted us. And then he said Michael does but they want to sit outside. That’s when it dawned on me that they truly were talking about us!!!! We were the only ones there waiting! The waitresses here apparently can choose which clients they want to serve!! I was offended and we left. Ended up at Sacred Junk Bar— great vibe and employees there understand the importance of customer service!

My boyfriend had made reservations here for Valentines day at 7pm and we were really excited about going to a new place. We arrived promptly at 7pm and we were told they were overbooked and we needed to wait about 15-30 min that later turned into over AN HOUR WAIT!! normally waiting is fine, however my bf had pre-payed for dinner to which they did not want to refund him for and the manager was extremely rude and told us to keep waiting with no apologies. We were no longer able to wait due to scheduling and needed to leave. They did not refund my bf for there fault in overbooking and not seating people at the appropriate time. Never coming here again. Manager was the worst! who talks to there customers this way?? This almost ruined our valentines day!

We waited as long as we could. After an hour wait we couldn’t wait any longer due to scheduling conflicts. Most restaurants are doomed by poor food or service (the food is actually very good here). The downfall of Poppy & Seed will be because of management arrogance. A little bit of advice Mr. & Mrs Reed: First off, charging a $6.00 health charge fee without the waitress telling the diner? Not cool and frankly unethical. (We all sacrifice for Covid, so just add 4% to the items rather surreptitiously tacking on a fee.) (They removed the charge when I brought it up.)Next up, is the nasty UPSELL youve instructed the waitstaff to urge dinners to order from ALL FOUR COLUMNS off the menu. You dont need that much food, believe me. They claim the portions are family style. This is misleading and deceptive; they are normal size.Love the music playlist, but hey blasting it at 5:30pm (only 2 couples outside) at an average of 72db (see attached photo; extended listening at 70+ db can lead to hearing loss) is dangerous and makes for difficult dinner conversation. I asked if they could turn it down a bit. I got 2 rude answers: Its a set volume. and we dont have keys to turn it down. Right... not credible. Just like you couldnt cancel the $35 upfront fee when the another reviewer had an emergency.And the $35 upfront fee to reserve? I finished eating on Sat. night and at 7pm the restaurant was only 1/3 full. When you are charging $180 for dinner for two (with $30 tip) in Anaheim with terrible parking, you want to feel respected. For an extra $75, I can have a Michelin star quality meal in Crystal Cove, Newport Beach at Marche Moderne or Mastros and be treated like a king.

Sadly, several issues I point out seem to be part of a pattern and not isolated incidents.FULL REVIEWIve lived in the area for a couple of years and was excited about Poppy and Seed. My first visit was for brunch in their first opening weeks. Since then, weve tried several other times, late brunches, dinners with friends, couple-dining during the weekends, and mid-week.We witnessed their constant struggle to get this place running through our visits. For example, one time, there was no coffee for breakfast. Another time, the restaurant opened one hour late. During a brunch, my green-sauce chilaquiles were extremely dry. The kitchen forgot to add the green sauce! After repeatedly pointing this out to our waitress, she finally brought us some sauce –albeit reluctantly. And more often than not, our dishes took a long time to arrive (30-45 minutes).We understand that opening a new business under a pandemic can be challenging. For this reason, we kept giving P&S second chances. We always said to ourselves, they are just opening... they will improve... things will get better.However, being new and just opening is no excuse for disrespectful behavior and common courtesy. Today we decided to give P&S one more chance. Early in the morning, I looked for any reservations open and saw plenty of spots available. For this reason, I did not make one (open table requires a credit card).When we arrived at 10:10 am, the hostess coldly informed us they did not take walk-ins, only reservations. Nevertheless, the place was almost empty (only two tables seated). We were amazed by the lack of hospitality (i.e., they did not point us out where to make a reservation or –as a courtesy–they did not offer to make one on the spot). This was the first red flag.We walked out and made a reservation using OpenTable for 10:30 am and waited. We asked for a table under the shade on the notes since I suffer from intense migraines after moderate exposure to sunlight. We saw three other parties going through the same ordeal as we waited.At 10:30 am, we came back and told them we had a reservation and kindly reminded them we preferred shade. The two front desk staff informed us, we will see what we can do, and to please wait for another 10 to 15 minutes! We did not understand what the issue was, since around 70% of the tables were available.Once they called us, the hostess took us to a table under direct sunlight. We asked her if we could take a table under the shade, less than 10ft away from the one she assigned to us. She told us, the waiter for that table has not arrived yet. with a condescending smile. There was not the minimum desire or effort to accommodate our request.I felt bad I made my girlfriend go through such an unpleasant and awkward moment, and thought to myself: they clearly do not want us here. As I looked around, I couldnt help but notice the surrounding tables. Mostly all, with non-POC patrons enjoying their brunch happily under the shade.Both my girlfriend and I are part of underrepresented communities. We could not help but wonder if this was a not-so-subtle micro-aggression. One can never know for sure. However, after reading some other reviews on this and other platforms, it seems we are not the first to experience it at P&S, and it might be a pattern. Luckily our diverse surrounding community has plenty of great options within walking/driving distance. We left and had a great brunch somewhere else.

Had the most incredible experience at this new Chef Michael Reed Poppy restaurant. Poppy and Seed Exceeded our expectations! Chef Michael and chef Baxter layer flavors so creatively they tantalize your taste buds . We had several share plates (The servers suggestion for the way they like to do business l) then ordered an entrée. We had Pear Tartin layered w Brie, The most delicious ham ever fresh pears and a crisp mustard. Stuffed squash blossoms perfectly crisped, brussels sprouts with Caesar and shaved Parmesan and a little surprise of crispy chicken skin (We couldn’t stop eating those), lamb meatballs. Then chef surprised us with a cold crab soup that had the most intricate flavors that exploded in your mouth. Our entrée was a striped seabass,Crispy on top and tender flavorful and delicious inside. The manager Jordan Was awesome at explaining what we were eating and suggesting the most amazing craft cocktails. The atmosphere was beautiful surrounded by all of trees fire pits and beautiful lighting all surrounded by The green house restaurant. On the night someone tried to break into my home, I was charged a cancellation fee (without being told) for not being able to honor my reservation, despite immediately calling them to let them know I was waiting for the police and wouldnt be able to leave.I made a 6pm reservation at 315 PM on a Saturday...I live close by and have been excited to try this place. Literally every 15 minute window was available for reservations, so its not as though they were tight on seats. At 5pm somebody tried to break into my home, just as we were about to start getting ready. I called right after getting off the phone with 911 to let them know the circumstances and that I couldnt make it. They told me they understood, then turned around and charged me the full fee nonetheless without having spoken to me about it. When I called back and spoke to the manager I was told this was a policy that was outside of his control but that I could redeem the fee for restaurant credit.I have literally no desire to ever spend a cent here unless this situation is rectified. It was bad enough having to cancel my plans... if this is what this place treats their customers like, I have extremely little desire to ever stop by.
