This is a small neighborhood cafe. They serve breakfast(which Ive had) and lunch (which I havent tried). Its located in a small shopping area with what seems, has more stores then parking can accommodate. So if its during peak business hours, parking may be a challenge. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The cafe, is what youd expect from a neighborhood diner..called pops cafe..food is decent and reasonably priced. We ordered the gourmet omelette and a vegetarian omelette, with toast...the meals were filling. They make their own salsa.

Good food at reasonable prices. The place was packed but we didnt have to wait long for a table. Our waiter was excellent and took care of us. I will definitely come back and try another item from the menu!

I am from the south, born and raised. My best friend and me were on vacation in LA and decided to try this place on a whim. We came back *every day* for the rest of our vacation. Ivan was our server most of those days and he was INCREDIBLE! Everyone there was, to be fair.The food was top tier, better than a lot of places here in the actual south. I cant think of any higher praise than saying those biscuits and gravy were better than my grandmas.If youre looking for a place with amazing, mouth watering food, great service, and a homey vibe, look no further. We plan on flying back out just to eat there again.Our favorite southern breakfast joint is 2400 miles away, and we cant *wait* to go back!

Visited this place on my honeymoon with my husband (we come from Ohio) and I gotta say the staff were extremely nice! I wish people in Ohio would take notes and learn from these people!! (The service in Ohio is NEVER that good Lol)but besides the great service, the food was 10/10. The pancakes were bigger than my entire skull and my husband seemed very pleased with the corned beef hash. If we ever visit Downey again, we will gladly visit this place again. My family and I are on vacation from Texas. We were passing through and stopped here for breakfast. It is absolutely a gem of a restaurant with excellent food and service! I had waffles, eggs and bacon with a side of biscuits and gravy. My husband had an omelet with homemade hash browns. Our son had the french toast. The coffee was the best we had in a long time. We highly recommend! Our son also lost his baby tooth while here, and the waiter gave him a hot wheels car to cheer him up. Thank you for the delicious breakfast!

The food was good and not overly salty which can happen at a lot of breakfast and brunch places. I had the chicken fried steak and my boyfriend had the pork chop. There was just enough food to completely fill me up. We also had the pancakes and biscuits and gravy. My boyfriend liked the pancakes I thought the biscuits and gravy were just okay. Chicken fried steak and pork chop were very good.

Happy to see Pops Cafe manage to stay open after the pandemic. Last time I ate here was late 2019. Great ambience and great food. Order the usual breakfast item Polish sausage and scrambled eggs and was not disappointed I order the hash brown extra crispy and love it. Would recommend Pops cafe

Great service. Very nice servers. Food is not good. Everything is super cooked. Steak is hard and chewy. Gave me a very well done new york steak when i ordered it medium even the burger steak, very soggy home fries, heavy pancakes. I have no idea why people line up to eat here. Sorry, im not coming back.

The food was pretty good here, they serve American food . It was fast waiting for a seat but its a really small place so I wouldnt bring a party bigger than 4. I tried the Turkey sandwich with bacon and fries and it was tasty. The only thing I didnt like was the cheese they use but it was still good food and great service.

Me and my wife love to come here on our days off for some breakfast. I usually get the omelette but if I’m not in the mood for breakfast I then would get the turkey bacon Swiss sandwich. Friendly staff, good food, reasonable prices. Highly recommend.

Ordered the steak and eggs, potatoes and substituted the bread for biscuits and gravy. Everything was amazing! Great flavor and great portions. Kids loved their food. My daughter is a picky eater and she loved her cheeseburger and fries. Abby our waitress was awesome. Very helpful and even though they were busy she always came to check on us and was very patient with our questions. When we arrived there was a line outside but they are very quick here. As soon as a family is done eating they clean up and get ready for the next customers. Our first time here but definitely not our last.

This is a small mom & pops restaurant that has great quality food. I had the eggs Benedict and they are one of the best I have ever had. There portion size are small and their price is decent but their food is really great! I recommend you try this place. The only problem I had was choosing what I wanted to have. Oh and for the French toast lovers they make them fried as well, I heard theyre delicious its a must-try!!!

With everything being so expensive nowadays, rest assured Pops Cafe will deliver phenomenal service.Breakfast was good. $12 for french toast, two eggs, two bacon, and two sausage, coffee was $3.50, a little pico de gallo was .75¢. Seems like everyones charging a little for everything these days thanks to Bidenomics. Overall a great experience.

Average food like IHOP and Norms that are very close to pop’s. The staff is nice and food comes out promptly. If your not there early expect to wait. It’s a local watering hole, lots of customers are known by name. That’s what make pops popular it’s a locals hang out.

This place is located within a Plaza. It is casual, clean, open space, and friendly staff. I ordered the Eggs Benedict with Irish potatoes (I think thats what they are called). The potatoes were okay they were missing some seasoning. The yolk on my eggs were runny so that was good. The bread at the bottom was buttery, moist, and crispy, delicious. The cream was thick, but not creamy. The taste of the cream took over my entire plate, which I did not mind, but it made my plate very plain. The cream really did not have any flavor, again it was missing some sort of seasoning. I would have to go back and try a different plate at this location. Overall the place was nice and so was the staff, just got to try something else there. Plain potatoes plain cream. Good bread.

My first impression of this establishment is very solid. I grabbed a Corned Beef Hash Breakfast with Eggs Over-Medium and my wife grabbed the Machaca Breakfast. Everything was cooked appropriately and well seasoned. For those that wish to dine outside their establishment, youre able to do so. This place is okay. The pancakes are fine, the Irish potatoes were good. My two sons and I got the orange juice to drink. A few minutes later we all had discomfort in our stomachs. The should get rid of the cheap orange juice that they use.This place was loud, louder than Norms. I had to reach in to hear two year old and wife. That made it a little unpleasant. They may consider noise attenuation upgrades if this is a recurring complaint.

Today I was really disappointed with service and food, I decided to go out of my box and order something different and I totally regret it! Usually I am very pleased with everything about this place but boy not today! It took me 3x of asking for my complete order. Everything came out and to me in pieces and after waiting 10 minutes from my first request I had to ask a second time then they brought a plate of French toast out to a person that was at my table who ordered after he finished his original order and still nothing to me so I asked again and after 5 more minutes and after I was finished with my eggs and sausage my French toast arrives. I dont know if it was because they were a hour to close or what it was. But our service sucked we had to ask others for refills and it was just really a frustrating time I could not enjoy my meal.

Went here for the first time today for breakfast. Did not have high or low expectations, just wanted to find a new breakfast place. We got lucky and got the last table for two right away :) we ordered the country fried steak with potatoes and pancake service & the Machaca, beans, rice. The machaca was very bland and absolutely requires the side salsa that it comes with but the ingredients were fresh and well cooked. The potatoes were overcooked and dry but the main foods on that dish tasted great with the gravy. It seems that the service is a hit and miss as other tables were seated after us but plated way before us & seemed WaaaAaay friendlier. Stephanie was so slow that after we were done eating and waiting almost 5 minutes I got up and requested to go boxes at the front counter. Once we boxed up the food I then had to get up again! And go request my check. She couldnt even tell me what was used to make corned beef hash!! Uh, it has potatoes &&&... Let me go check 😖 The owner seems to be the one at the counter and was very friendly and pleasant and was apologetic about our delayed service. We may go there again but will NOT get service from Stephanie again!!

Ok first off this is the best biscuits and gravy I’ve ever had. You can actually taste the sausage and the true gravy flavor. Most other places all you taste is a varying degree of salt. Also the biscuits were light and fluffy. Doesn’t feel like you have a brick in your stomach later. And of course the best place for breakfast. Took my bro out for a belated birthday meal and he choose this place based on ratings. We both have never been here. However it’s now on our radar. So many options on breakfast. All I’m gonna say is try your regular fave first time here. Then if it’s a hit for you every other visit try something new. You won’t regret it. Just be prepared to wait at times. This place gets an abundance of business. I’d say a better time to come during the week is after 10:00am. Do remember this is a breakfast/lunch joint so get here before 12pm or you may just miss out on some good cooking.

This place is incredible and by far one of my favorite places to eat breakfast at. Its not very big and always has a line if you dont get there when they 1st open in the morning. Bring a healthy appetite with you, the servings will not disappoint you. The staff are fantastic, and the food is delicious but beware if you order the pancakes you had better ask the size first.

Its a simple menu, good American food. We were in for Breakfast and wasnt disappointed at all. Everyones plates were left empty. Its pretty popular on the weekends. One of our party went early to get us a table, we only waited a few minutes, but that was at 8am. By 9am there was a long wait of probably 20 people outside. So, be prepared to wait. A long line is always a good sign. And if you like strong coffee youll love it. A bit strong for me but easy to fix.

Visiting LA on business and stumbled upon Pops one Sunday morning. There was a line outside which is always a good sign. Pops offers your standard breakfast menu including Pancakes, French toast, eggs, and omelets. I ordered the French toast with eggs and bacon. I requested the bacon be well done and received it as ordered. I was asked if I wanted my French toast grilled or deep fried. I have never had deep fried French toast before so why not. OMG!!! Ridiculously delicious. Has a similar taste of funnel cake. Who doesnt love funnel cake. The meal was on point, the service was fast, and the location is convenient. I would highly recommend you visit Pops if in the LA area.

Its a very nice place. Its interior decor is interesting to look at and the ambience of the place is very much like the feeling of home. Arrived around 10am maybe waited around 20-25 min, as it was busy. Noise level was very high more than what Im use to maybe because its a smaller place and youre closer to others around you but just a heads up to those who arent high noise tolerant. As for the service, the service was very efficient, quick, and friendly. Food arrived at an orderly time. I ordered the spinach omelette with country potatoes and blueberry pancakes. The country potatoes were good a little salty but it had a nice flavor with the green bell peppers and onions. The omelette said it had swiss cheese and I LOVE cheese but honestly didnt expect it to be craft singles swiss cheese. Im a pancake person but I unfortunately couldnt love their pancakes it was just too bland for my palettes. Anyway, for the price of the food it was reasonable. However my review of this restaurant is in no way a negative one and more of a critical review. Wow this place was amazingly delicious. I had the French Toast with eggs, bacon and sausage. The French toast was half fried and half grilled with butter and cinnamon. I love the mom and pop feel to it. We will be making this spot out regular place for breakfast.

I have to say that the food is good at best. I like that theres variety and that its a great place to get breakfast. They offer omelettes and other variations of breakfast. The reason for the low score is the missing of flavors. To me personally it needs a bit of flavor to enjoy the food. In a simple word I think that people have to try to add their own opinion.

I love the food at Pops cafe but Ive never gotten out of there without waiting 30 to 40 minutes for a table on any given day. I hate to admit it but as much as I love the fresh, tasty meals Ive had here, the wait is the reason I dont come here more often. We go here about once every 3 or 4 months because thats how long it takes us to forget how much we hate standing outside on the strip mall walk way, in the blaring sun.

So came to pubs café for the first time today. We noticed that it got good reviews so thought we give it a try. And I have to say that it is by far the best breakfast café Bar non that I know . I love little places like this. Pops Cafe is found in a discreet shopping strip. The restaurant front is no frills. As a matter of fact, they have a type of carpet inside and its not even linoleum or tile. Not sure how they keep it clean. However, the food makes up for it. I had the Chicken Fried Steak with the Irish Potatoes (hash browns with grilled onions and bell peppers) and eggs sunny side up. The Chicken Fried Steak and the gravy was really good. The hash browns, however, were not as good. The outside was crispy, but the inside seemed a bit undercooked. It wasnt horrible, but a little more time on the flat top would have helped. The sunny side up eggs were good as well. It came with two slices of pre-buttered toast. The orange juice that I got was good. The service was fine. The waitress was friendly, but she didnt check up on us kid meal. Not that we needed anything, but its always good when the server asks how everything is going. When we first arrived there was plenty of people waiting to be seated. It took about 20 minutes for the two of us to get seated on a Sunday at about 11:30am. By 12:30 there wasnt a wait. If Im in the area again, Ill stop by for breakfast. Beats a Dennys or IHOP, in my opinion, any day.

I have a big curiosity to come back and try other food selections from rest of their breakfast menu. I ordered their New York steak along with their Irish potatoes (hashbrowns, but with onion and bell pepper). On the side, an order of pancakes . The meal in all, at first bite, was flavorful and soft. It was as if they used the perfect amount of oil (perhaps butter) to cook the food with. Restaurant is small yet cozy. Very busy on my first visit. My neighbor invited us as her husband is the well known cook named Jose. When we arrived it was busy inside with many delicious looking plates at each table. We had to wait about five minutes outside while other customers finished their breakfast.We were seated near the front of the restaurant. We were asked what we would like to drink and I asked for iced tea(they have both sweet and unsweetened). My wife had a soda and my neighbor had a coffee. Refills on each of our drinks is available.We ordered our plates. Our neighbor had egg whites, jam and sliced potatoes. My wife had egg whites, bacon, sausage, and french toast. I decided to try the turkey breast sandwich with bacon, Swiss cheese, lettuce and mayonnaise. We tried the different dishes and each food was very delicious.Jose the cook came and greeted us and brought me a sample french toast. How kind! The French toast is indescribable. The taste is unique, delicious, not overly sweet. Balanced if I dare say!The servers dont rush you and even though it was busy they still manage to check on folks. Thank you.

It all starts with wondering where you going to find parking, wondering why there is no parking, for this little hole in the wall cafe?Then it all gets a little better when you realize that there is plenty of parking in the rear of the building off of rieves. Then a smiling gentleman greets you, you sign in to find his yellow pad is almost completely booked full and there isnt a single seat. But it gets way better when they finally call your party. A smiling person takes the order and you have three options of potatoes. Your order comes very promptly and the portions are a bargin, but wait it gets even better when you taste the quality of the food. It is a simple breakfast that looks the same as so many others serve, but there is more quality, experiance, love in every bite.
