Very nice little butcher shop with friendly & knowledgeable staff. We used to get ours meats at a place in lockford however that place is no longer an option for us. Pops however has everything we need & more! BBQs, Smokers, pellets, woods, Meats, dry aged meats, chicken, jerky, waygu, sauces, spices, rubs, marinades, sausages & they also bbq meats outside for ordering. Just a tremendous offering from a nice little store! Will be back from now on!

Staff is always friendly. Good variety of meats and marinades. Their sausages are spot on. Can be a bit on the salty side sometimes. They also carry bacon burgers (50/50 beef and bacon) and jalapeno cheddar burgers and they are delicious. Every once in a while they have authentic A-5 wagyu steaks and they have the certificate to show. Love having a local butcher shop close to the house.

Went to this fundraiser yesterday, and there wasnt much about anything the food was garbage. I spent hundreds if not almost thousands of dollars that Pops meats over 3 years but this was a turn off yesterday not only was it disorganized, but everything was dry on the plate. Huli, huli chicken does not taste anything like what was presented as I cook it myself and its marinated with different spices, apple cider vinegar, pineapple, juice, and teriyaki, none of these flavors were there. This was a pure profit seeking event. I hope my money at least made it to Maui $200 between the market and the food would not recommend. This is my last time at Pops meat market. I love you Maui, but this wasnt it.

I was told to check out Pops. Very clean, staff was very friendly and helpful, I grabbed some house sausage and cooked it up. Delicious! Looking forward to trying more soon.

Best Meat Shop in Elk Grove. Best Meat Shop in all of Sacramento is you ask me. Just picked up some more Sausage and Chicken for this weekend. Already ate the steaks from earlier this week.I also noticed today they have a wall of Thank You’d. Different Youth Groups and Local Non-Profits Thanking them for their support.Great Staff. Always the best.

Its pretty rare to find stores or shops anywhere anymore that arent franchised or part of a major chain, and even once you find one they dont always leave the best impressions. This is definitely one of the exceptions. Pops of Elk Grove checks all of the boxes in what youd want from a local neighborhood meat market. I wish in one review I could tell you everything that this shop is doing perfectly but I dont think I have the words for it. The customer service is some of the best Ive ever had. The guys are friendly and eager to not only help you find what youre looking for but also to answer any questions you might have. They carry a wide variety of not only meats but also lines of seasonings, marinades, and rubs including house blends perfect for any occasion. You could mess around and get your chicken breast or your ground beef from a chain store but to be honest, why would you want to with the perfect selection right down the street? Stop in, see the guys, and load up for the grilling season ahead.

Wonderful family owned meat shop. Everything from very affordable options to high end aged steak and Wagyu beef. Their bacon is the best Ive ever had and is cheaper than Oscar Meyers at the grocery store.And if theres anything wrong with your purchase, theyll make it right for you.I have stopped buying meat from the grocery chains. I buy much higher quality product at the same prices-- sometimes lower-- at Pops.Hint: their marinated meats are awesome!

When Pops first opened up shop... the 2 younger of my 4 sons heard that a new Butcher opened up in our neighborhood and that their House-Made Sausages are FIRE! So they said they were gonna go get some and ask if I would throw them on the Traeger. Im pretty sure they bought 2 of every variety and they were beyond FIRE!!! THE BEST weve ever had!Everything that we have ever purchased from Pops has been excellent but my most recent experience was, as always better than than the excellence than i already expected.I purchased a rack of Baby Back Ribs a Tri-Tip Roast and marinated them for almost 48 hours in Black Pepper Sauce that I also purchased at THE POPS PREMIUM MEAT SHOP.I have been barbecueing for about 40 years and smoking for at least 15 .... And Ive had some really good baby back ribs and tri-tips throughout those years and I dont know if it was the marinade that Dan suggested or if it was the superior meat, or both... but I have to say that it was not just excellent but it was the SUPERMOSTEXCELLENTFLAVORFULGREATTASTING smoked meats that Ive had in a long time if ever!Thank you Bryan and Dan!!!

This place was recommended by a brother of mines. I decided to check it out. Friendly staff, very helpful soon as I walked in. The shop was super clean and well stocked. A good selection of premium meat to choose from. As well as pre seasoned and marinated meat. I highly recommend this spot. We are definitely coming back.
