Simply the best chilaquiles Ive ever had. We got them with al pastor meat. The serving size is extremely generous, and every bite was incredible. The chips were fresh, and it was so freshly made that they were still a bit crunchy in parts. Perfect textures, perfect flavors.We also got the breakfast burrito, which was absolutely massive. They do not skimp on portion sizes.I wish I lived closer so I could come here again soon, but Ill be recommending it to anyone going anywhere near Oakland.

Some of the best and most unique tacos around. Great breakfast burritos and tortas as well. And the fact that it happens to share a space with a bar is pretty nice if you want to have a beer or cocktail with your meal.

Porque No? Tacos has scrumptious tacos, torta’s and burritos. I love that every time I go here, the food is consistently great, and customer service is amazing. If your looking for a bar to hang out too, you won’t have to go far. Great place to meet up with friends looking to have a drink and some delicious food.

Used to be a repeat customer until they started charging fees out of nowhere, portions and sauces got smaller burn prices go up. I have recommended multiple people here, but wont be coming back until the fees are lifted. You will even get charged for picking up your food. You also get charged even if you pay cash at pickup.

Loved the torta Jalisco and chilaquiles from Porque No? Tacos. The pulled pork is heavy on the seasonings and super tender. The whole sandwich is heavy on toppings, which is just how I like it. 😋 The artful display of chilaquiles, with a perfectly crunchy carnitas add-on, hides just how much food there is on the plate.Overall bar/restaurant decor is sports bar vibe, and Im not into that....but the food is worth it.19w

This was the first time i tried this place and wouldn’t be my last!I loved the food, the service and the overall ambiance of the restaurant. I got the super shrimp taco and it came in a cheesy crispy shell with a-lots of shrimp and guac on top 🤤. The onion rings were very crispy and delicious. I had a minor problem with my order and the chef OMAR personally made sure that my issue was taken care of and also gave complementary food to make up for it. They not only provide delicious food but an excellent customer service. I can see this business growing much popular in the near future.

Best burrito I’ve had in years!As my plane landed at OAK I got a craving for Mexican food. I pulled up Google maps and Porque no? Tacos showed up as the highest (4.7) rated place close to the airport.I was greeted by one of the owners who couldn’t have been friendlier. I ordered a super burrito de pastor (sin arroz y sin crema) which he promised I would love. I had to get home so I took it to go. The burrito came out fast but not too fast to alarm that they were not making it fresh. I was starving so i unwrapped it as I got to my car….First of all, they finished the burrito on the griddle and it was PERFECTLY toasted. It had this amazing almost reddish orange color. The first bite blew me away. Hot, suuuuuper fresh ingredients, and perfectly cooked pastor with little crispy bits. I actually had to get out of my car and go back inside to tell the owner how amazing the food was. Lucky for me, I fly in and out of Oakland airport often, because I am going to be coming back here as often as possible to dig into the rest of the menu. If you were looking for amazing Mexican food…look no further than Porque no? Tacos!!!

Super taco was pretty good, the quesadilla was a little above average, and my girl loved her margarita on the rocks. The bean dip was one of the most bland things weve eaten in a while, though. We might try again, but there are probably better options around and for a lower price, too.

Great Big comfortable place with an enormous parking lot and roof acces ( didn’t go up there but imagine tables are set up) modern Mexican music playing at a perfect volume I’d say it’s music from Sinaloa definitely not Mariachi accordions 🪗 and tubas, trumpets 🎺 and requinto.I had the steak burrito with light beans and rice. It was perfecto 🤩 ask for the dark red fire 🔥 sauce if you’re a devil like me when it comes to salsas! This place was so clean you could eat off the floor! My compliments to the management team, will definitely come back again. It was $19 with a cup of cafe definitely on the pricey side but worth it!

Amazing! I got the super burrito with chicken. We also ordered the fried zucchini bean dip and chips and salsa..they have. Areally eclectic menu but in sure it works well with being located inside franks sports bar and grill. The chef came out and introduced him self. Staff was super friendly. This is now on my favorites list. I will be back!

Overall solid spot, I recommend it to all my friends in the area. Great place no thrills place to grab a quick bite or meet up for beers and tacos.I got my usual which is the super quesadillas which I highly recommend. Tried out chorizo this time, it was good but I think carne asada is better. Comes with little cups of guac, sour cream, and pico de Gallo.Happy to see theyre giving out nicer napkins now and they also give a set of cutlery wrapped in a napkin.

Ill start off by saying that the food here is good. We got the chilaquiles and they were presented nicely and flavorful, though not super filling so I recommend getting something with it. The shrimp tacos were ok, but not super special.Overall, the food was fine, and we were enjoying ourselves until...Please note that I have a service animal. Prior to arriving at the restaurant, I called to ensure that service animals were allowed, and I was told they were. When I arrived, the worker, who I assume I spoke to on the phone, addressed me and asked are you the one who called about the service animal? I said yes, he smiled and took our order. No issue. We sat down, ate, and enjoyed the chill atmosphere for almost two hours.Then out of no where, a lady aggressively approached our table (again, after having been sitting, eating, paid, and minding our business for 2 hours), and said that animals werent allowed in the restaurant. She didnt identify herself, give any type of greeting, or excuse herself for interrupting our conversation. The dialogue went as follows:She: Animals arent allowedMe: I called ahead and asked if service dogs were allowed and I was told yesShe: Who did you speak to?Me: I dont knowShe: You didnt get their name?Me: No, I didnt askShe: Well its our policy that no animals are allowed. Did you eat already or are you waiting on food?Me: We ate and have been sitting here with no problemShe: Theres a sign on the door that says no petsMe: This is a service animal and obviously the guidance from the staff contradicts this statement.She walked away without giving any awareness or recognition that the dog was a service animal.Needless to say, we left almost immediately after. It was extremely disheartening, and frankly, frightening, to be approached with such aggression and obvious disregard for the spectrum of disabilities and purpose of service animals. Further, we looked for a sign outside the restaurant, and there is nothing that says no animals, or more specifically, service animals.Her dismissal of my needs, and refusal to let us be patrons of this business is a violation of the Americans With Disability Act which states: The ADA is a federal law which requires businesses and organizations that serve the public to allow people with disabilities to bring their service animals into all areas of the facility where customers are normally allowed to go. Examples of these businesses and organizations include restaurants or hotels.July is Disability Pride Month to commemorate the passing of the 1990 Americans with Disability Act. The law prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities. Although 1 in 4 Americans have a disability, there is still much work to be done to achieve equity among our largest minority group.Her behavior came off as derogatory, ableist, and discriminatory towards persons with disabilities. I would NOT recommend this business to anyone that experiences disabilities, considers themselves an ally of those in that community, or has any general compassion for humans.This was an extremely disappointing and humiliating interaction that tarnished an otherwise enjoyable dining experience. I do not plan to return, and do not advise others to either.Lastly, to reiterate, the woman never introduced herself, so I dont have her name, or have any idea what her role is in the establishment, but she noted she was the enforcer. To describe her physically, she looked to be middle aged, fair skinned with shoulder-length brown hair and about 57. She would benefit from sensitivity, diversity, inclusion, and equity training and overall compassion, empathy and improved communication skills.

Tryed out the Torta Jalisco and Chilaquiles with Carne asada. The torta postor on the torta was well seasoned and all the flavors came together really well. Chilaquiles were the perfect texture. It seems like Porque no? Tacos share the space with another restaurant, with them having the space for the morning and afternoon.Got the chilaquiles which were excellent and presented really well. The chips were covered in a spicy red sauce and the chips were still crunchy. Totally unassuming location, but their food is fantastic. Got two tacos, lengua and al pastor, plus chips and salsa. The tacos were hearty, medium sized tortillas fully stuffed with juicy, well seasoned meat. The chips were fine, but the salsa... absolutely delicious, one of the best Ive had in a while. In addition to red and green salsa for tacos, there was a dark red salsa that was just divine - spicy and hearty, I would drink it like a soup in the wintertime!

Super tacos were sooooo good!! Large tacos! Tons of guac and toppings. Comes with salsa without having to ask so you dont get home and think about it. Excellent mixed fruit aguas frescas. I got the lengua and steak, recommend both. Two super tacos is enough for an adult, I got through one. This was inside halftime sports bar. Also very clean- I saw them thoroughly wiping down the outside tables while waiting for my tacos :)

Let me say that I love the tacos, my first interaction is menu not good on the web, order a 2 taco plate, but they made 2 plates and wanted me to pay for them. Next i Ordered a Burrito, but asked if they had Carne Asada was told yes, but when i picked it up it was shredded beef.I dont mind paying $17.00 for a burrito and $2.50 for a can soda, but would like for it to be what i asked for

1st time eating here. Had the chilaquiles. They did live up to the hype. Good flavor and the chips were still crunchy to the bite. Plenty of cheese on their. $15 price point, somewhat pricey for fried tortillas with salsa if you ask me.My dad had the Al pastor torta. He liked it . Im vegetarian but still went ahead and tried it. The results werent as good as the chilaquiles. I dont know how they prepare the Al pastor but it definitely does not resemble tradition Al pastor. Another thing that threw me off is they add what looked to be melted mozzarella cheese. I dont think any kind of cheese really belongs on a traditional Mexican torta thats like cheese on a burrito. But thats just my 2 cents. Overall friendly staff and good atmosphere. Plenty of seating and TVs. Full bar for your alcoholic beverages. $6 for a pint of 805 (side note). 4/5 would probably not visit again due to other go to options Id rather patronize but not a bad choice at all. Give it a try.

We tried this restaurant for the first time this week and will definitely return. We’re coming from the Oakland hills and it’s definitely worth the ride.The flavors are deep and rich, the 25 or so main menu items (plus numerous sides!) will have something for everybody. Speaking of sides, they have very tasty thin onion rings, rather than the wide ones that leave a slab of steaming hot onion in your mouth. They were delicious!Each member of the staff was sincerely engaged and interested in providing a high quality dining experience. Everyone was nice, everyone seemed to care.One thing. The “Frank’s” sign on the building outshines the banners for the restaurant and it’s easy to drive past. As you cross over the tracks heading West on Marina, the building is on the left; the street for the parking lot parallels the tracks. Expect to start turning as you’re crossing the tracks and as if you’re going to “Frank’s”.

The best burrito I’ve ever had! We unexpectedly wound up having to stay at an airport hotel and are so glad we found this place. Can’t begin to describe how delicious the food is. Super unique. My wife got the quesadillas and they were also incredible. It’s co-located with a bar near some railroad tracks, an interesting spot. And the owner is such a nice guy. I’d gladly have more flight delays in Oakland to be able to come here again. Don’t miss this if you’re in the area.

Was there on a fairly busy Friday night, had completed having dinner with my wife when I went to get in line to order some takeout for my kids at home. Omar (owner) asked me, while I was in line, if I had ordered yet. I told him we were getting more to take home.He then told the cashier to STOP taking orders so that he could catch up with the online orders. Really?! There were four of us in line, he could have cut off service after us but chose not to take our business. I waited 20 minutes, staff wasn’t really rushing so this may have been somehow personal? I don’t get it, I had taken several people there in the months prior.Don’t worry Omar, you didn’t want to take my order then and you will never have to again. One of the all time BEST restaurants Ive been to. The food, drinks, and service were phenomenal. I ordered chilaquiles and they had the perfect little crunch and a slight kick of spicy. This came topped with fresh Avocado. I had the mixed fruit drink and that was very refreshing. You could taste the fruits. So glad I found this joint on-line and took a chance. The breakfast burrito lived up to the hype, it was delicious and so filling I couldnt finish it and still slyly steal my wifes lunch.We stayed and ate at a table in front on the sidewalk which was a typical beautiful Saturday in Oakland, friendly and colorful personalities galore.I will return and, until then, tell everyone I know about this little place that inhabits the Halftime Sports establishment .

Place is super clean and you feel really taken care of by the staff here. You get free chips/salsa with the meal. Salsa was a bit too spicy for me so I asked for pico de Gallo and they brought it out for me right away, very nice of them. I got the shrimp super taco, which was very delicious. Okay, First of all, they make their own chorizo! It is incredible in case you were wondering. Second the gentleman that run it are incredibly into what they are doing, the fill their food full of joy and love. The dedication they have to the art of cooking comes through in the food they serve. The salsa Verde is incredible, and I enjoyed the music and atmosphere as well. Go check these guys out.

Worst restaurant experience Ive ever had. I couldnt find this place firstly and it took me forever to find it. Once I get there, the workers are not wearing masks. The food takes forever to get done. When I was waiting I see that the kitchen staff are not wearing masks or gloves and I saw one of them literally pick his nose, sprinkle it on the ground, and then immediately handle food. When I finally get my food I guess the guy who handed it to me could tell I was annoyed because I was waiting for so long and he decided to act annoyed with me to. Horrible customer service. The food was terrible as well. The tortillas are all burnt. There is so much grease its soaking everywhere when Im eating it. There is no flavor whatsoever. Its just a bunch of cheese and barely any meat. I could have made that myself by just melting a block of cheese and putting it on a burnt tortilla and pouring grease everywhere.

Weve visited a couple of times now and the food is fabulous. I particularly enjoy the breakfast sandwich. The service is wonderful with a family feel to everyone working there.Today we sat outside. The owner and chef Omar Lopez poisons the food with antidepressants. He puts an extreme amount of his antidepressants in your food. Ok, this is going to be a little biased, because of the chilaquiles, and well, the french toast too. And maybe the coffee. This place is just down from Mr. Johns where I take my shedding german shepherd. I love to go out for breakfast, so going here was just right. We got coffee, very strong, lots of flavor, not bitter. Good sign. I ordered chilaquiles because I loveem, if they are loveable. These definitely were. Good beans,great salsa, just a touch of hot. We also got a side of bacon, extra crispy as ordered, enough for both of us with some left to take home with my leftovers. The french toast rated very good, would order again. I got my husband a breakfast burrito, which he liked very well. It was grilled so was somewhat crepe-like. Oh, and the side order of fruit is superb. Not 3 berries and half a cut up banana. Definitely worth the price of admission. Left a big tip, not just for the good service but because I really, really want to come back again. Its tiny, so go early. They have a couple of tables out front for those of us with canines.

I love them! -- and exchanged knowing shrugs at each other.So anyway, this spot is remarkable because you can get all of your properly delicious tacos for lunch -- Lengua was great, Cabeza was great. While at about $3/each its more than youd pay on E 14th St, its right on College Avenue, with *table service*, served with a super-friendly smile, and they take credit cards.Lunch only, as I believe theyre sub-leasing the space that functions as the Peruvian restaurant at dinner.
