Portos is efficient, and the long lines move quickly. I had a pork sandwich which was tasty. I took home potato balls And guava strudel and the cheese guava strudel. All very tasty. The staff is friendly. However as we were leaving, my friend held the door as people began to enter through the exit door and they did not thank her, did not make any effort to grab the door and her being so nice she held the door as four people pushed their way through the exit door. She and I felt that the people in this town are rude, pushy and grouchy. We do not come to Northridge often and it was a bit shocking and surprising as we are not accustomed to such rude people. Will not go back here again. Im lucky there is a Portos near where Iive.

Very high quality, well organized and efficient bakery. Cuban based fare, priced reasonably. Always a line but you dont have to wait long. Staffing is ample and they are friendly and helpful to assist with getting your orders quickly. Parking can be tricky if you dont want to walk far. I havent had a bad pastry yet. Some of my favorites are the Parisian and hazelnut besito. Their chicken croquettes and ham and cheese croissant are delicious!

My family has been going to Porto’s since before I was born. I always had a Porto’s Birthday cake and we were regulars at the Glendale location. I am so happy that they have expanded but not lost their flavor and service! The cakes are still delicious as ever, the food and drink just add to Porto’s unique flavors and charm. This is my go to since I go to CSUN. The service is amazing and this location is just breathtaking! Try their Guava Lemonade you won’t regret it! If you’re looking for a cake Tres Leches or their Milk cakes are soooo good! You’ll want to eat the whole thing! Potato balls are a must have everytime you go! Their food options are also delicious, not too heavy and just the right portions! If you’re looking for a pastry touch can’t go wrong with the cheese rolls or the Mango mousse bomb! Anything you get here you will surely fall in love with!

Amazing service and incredible food from Eliana, Jamie, and Angel at Portos. They really went out of their way to help me get a birthday surprise exactly right. Cant beat the food here either. Theres a lot of places charging twice as much for food thats half as good. Portos is one of those places where even if were 10 miles away we just say Well, we might as well stop in. Were practically there.Update - still awesome 🥐😁😁❤️

Be prepared to wait in line, although not for long. There are two separate lines, one for the bakery (bread, pastries sandwiches etc) and one for the cafe (coffees, smoothies etc). I went to the bakery line and ordered a steak torta, chicken Milanese sandwich, orange juice, a ube matcha latte and a strawberry shortcake. The cashier that took my order was lack luster (in assuming because it was during lunch rush) so overall it was okay. There’s a seating area but it’s usually packed so make sure to get there at a good time. There was young gentleman who wiped down our table as soon as got to it which was nice and we were also served by two very kind people who brought our food and asked how we were doing.The food was above average, but the drinks were amazing. The plates come with plantain chips which are phenomenal; they’re crispy, crunchy, lightly salted and full of plantain flavor. My steak torta was warm, the bread was great, the meat was okay, the beans were good, but what hurt the flavor was the guacamole because it had too much lemon/lime and over powered the rest. Overall the experience was above average which is why im giving it a 4.

I visited this cafe this weekend, ohhh man, those pastries, sandwiches and cakes are soooooooooo delicious, I dont have words to explain. It was crazy crowded but so organized and quick service I had. It was totally worth the wait. I took Cuban Midnight Sandwich (unbelievably good), Mango Mousse Bomb (yummy), chicken croquettes just melted in my mouth, Pork Tamales were soft and flavorful. Definitely recommending and I will be visiting soon....

We come here at least once if not twice a week. The food quality is always great. I used to come for pastries only but now we come for lunch as well. My son is a very picky eater but he likes almond everything here. Their prices are very fair for the quality you get as well.

Absolutely pleasant experience!Straightforward order at the bakery counter. The line situation was nice. We didn’t need to experience it, ourselves because we were early enough. On our way out, though, we noticed greeters directing traffic. Staff were on walkies keeping each other informed about the building crowds.Our handful of cheese/guava roll orders were put together very quickly, so we were in and out in twenty minutes.Will definitely swing by if passing through again.Another positive note: clean restrooms!

Porto’s is a staple. I always take visitors to Porto’s. Their pastries, food, and drink are delicious and affordable. I even have to take a box of cheese rolls with me when I go visit family on the east coast.We’ve been to this location several times, and have had a lot of the pastries and prepared food. My favorite from the display case are the cheese roll, guava cheese roll, fruit tart, and the potato balls! The cakes are also so affordable but I’ve only tried the tres leches. For breakfast, I like the Cuban French toast. For lunch and dinner, the new cilantro chicken salad is a go-to for a lighter option. The ropa vieja and Cubano sandwiches are classic options.Recently tried the Iced ube matcha latte. The Ube flavor was good but mostly tasted ube. As many know, I am an avid fan of the Portos brand, yet this was my first time visiting the new establishment in the Northridge area. You can tell the establishment is brand new and theres a lively crowd that loves the food. The price is always shockingly inexpensive for the amount of food that can be purchased. You can spend literally below twenty-five dollars, and you can get at least ten or twelve items. This by no means will break the bank. The Cortado is delicious as always, and if you want a different take on a Cubano, get the Medianoche, I highly recommend. The staff was courteous and very helpful, and even though the cafe looks packed, there is plenty of staff there who are able to get you out quickly. Portos is always a great place if you desire great Cuban food, pastries, smoothies, and coffee.

This location is huge. The line moves quickly. Plenty of parking in the lot.Seating available outside and inside. Make sure to order all sandwiches to “eat in!” Otherwise you will not get any of their delicious plantain chips. You will have to buy a small bag for an extra $4. Which is ridiculous!The Turkey & Cheese sandwich is my favorite along with the guava lemonade. Tart but not too sweet. The strawberry iced matcha is also very good.

Beautiful decor, friendly employees, great service, and of course, excellent food. All of this amounts to a great Portos experience. I had a cuban sandwich, a mango lime aqua fresca, and a piece of pumpkin spice tres leches cake. The cake was honestly the best cake Ive had this year. When it comes to desserts, Portos is unmatched. I would have liked a bigger portion on my grilled angus steak plate. For $16.29, when compared to the other 3 plates (11.89), the size of the steak plate has shrunk. I am talking about everything: the amount of rice, black beans and the steak itself. Pre-covid, this plate was less than $8.99 and a lot was served, yet post-inflation, the plate is double the price and with a smaller portion. I cant argue with the price because everything in California has gone up to twice the price prior to the inflation. However, if I am getting a small, unfulfilling portion, I get to complain about it. This is the first time I left Portos filling half empty. I am not sure if it is the location; at Burbank I have always had abundant rice, beans and meat on the plate. It could have been that Northridge serves smaller quantities, or maybe todays food preparers made a mistake on todays orders. Who knows? What I do know is that I will try to avoid this location at all cost, and hope that my Portos in Burbank has more common sense when serving plates.

The family and I love this place! My go-to item is the Medianoche sandwich, which is amazing, and today I tried the Plato de Ropa Vieja... 😋🤤 WOW, super delicious! We also tried the new Guava Rose and Peach Summer tartlet, both were good (I liked the guava rose better / the wife liked the peach tartlet more) ... but you cant beat their classic Guava Strudel if you like something sweet with your coffee! Lastly, they keep the AC cranking, which is really nice when its near triple digits outside. Thank you, Portos! Well definitely be back soon!!

What a massive location!! One of the great aspects of this one is that because it is located next to a mall and parking structure, parking is not an issue. Do expect to wait a bit inside to get what you want. Cakes to the left, bakery in the middle, coffee station, and pickup for hot sandwiches on the right.

The newest location in Northridge is by far superior to the rest. Its huge. You cant see from one end to the other. There are at least 50 employees. They have a greeter. There are at least 100 plus customers at any given time. They have a lounge that you can relax as well as patios. The food is so delicious and very reasonable.

Man, Oh man! Let me tell you, youre in for a treat when you visit this place! I had heard about it from my colleagues, but I didnt check it out until last Saturday. The moment you walk in, youre greeted by a display of beautiful pastries and breads that make your mouth water. We ended up buying a big fruit tart, some chocolate croissants, and Napoleon pastries, and they were all absolutely delicious and fresh!In addition to baked goods, this place also offers soups, sandwiches, and full meals. Its usually packed with people, but since they have many associates, the wait time is pretty short. The only downside is that finding a table to sit at can be a challenge.Overall, I really enjoyed my experience here and would definitely recommend it to my friends.

The weather was great and the sun was shining and I got myself a cup of coffee (dulce de lethe latte), a besito and a couple of empanadas and life was great! I was with my favorite cousin and we were just enjoying life! The location is beautiful and airy and bright! The decorative ceiling is a beautiful aesthetic and the staff was so friendly and nice. There was a line to get in but we got in right away and while the line inside looks long and daunting, it moves pretty fast. The prices for foods, baked good and coffee was all super reasonably priced! I was actually shocked at how cheap it was. $1+ change for an empanada! Wow! great! The besitt which is a cookie with dulce de lethe inside was so good!

Porto’s is everything! I’ve been to multiple locations and they’re all so consistent. Great atmosphere, Cuban music is usually playing 💃🏾 and it’s always so clean and well maintained.I’ve personally never tried something that I didn’t like, pastries are my go to (Guava n cheese and the spinach n feta go craaaazy) but recently I’ve tried more of their savory dishes and I’m so impressed. Love everything here as with all portos. Favorites are pork tamales, spicy cheese potato balls, and chicken Milanese sandwich.Recommend ordering online for later pick up to avoid the line. The first time I tried Porto’s Cheese roll I was hooked. I’ve introduced quite a few friends to this place and all of them became a fan. The Northridge location is one of their newer additions and it’s always packed with people enjoying their time. This place has excellent food, best of its class bakery goods, beautiful and clean atmosphere and great service. The only thing I can say that is not good is the waiting time. Average is about 5-10 minutes. The longest I’ve waited was about 45 min at the Burbank location. Porto’s is well staffed and their system is efficient but the food is so good that there is always a line.

This is a must try restaurant in Los Angeles! The lines are long but move fast. The food is consistently amazing, the service is impeccable, and the atmosphere is beautiful. I love the potato balls, cheese rolls, chocolate twists, fresh squeezed orange juice, cafe con leches, berries and cream cake, and Cuban sandwiches the most. Well what can be said about Portos that hasnt been said. Everyone will recommend the Cheese Rolls, Potato Balls and the Parisian Round Cake etc.So lets look at this brand new location, It finally has died down enough to actually get in and rightly so. This location has been hyped for a couple of years and opened just when most if not all mask restrictions have been lifted. Perfect storm Id say. Its a bright airy open concept location that makes the Burbank site look ridiculously cramped. Awesome execution of space. With even that I would highly recommend per-ordering if you are there to grab something as its clockwork efficient on-site. Staff is attentive and pro-active. Great new location!

My wife and I finally had the chance to stop by this Portos location. We got here like around 9:45am and they werent that many people where there would be a line outside. My wife got like 3 boxes of bakery food and I just got a grilled chicken sandwich. They told me that they couldnt put in the order yet because the chicken sandwich starts at 10am. So they told me to pick up the order first and then pay after. To avoid any issues because I experience some and had to talk to a manager to get my grilled chicken just wait for it to be 10am. The store is well kept and the employees are all helpful. If youre planning on eating there then just come early because a lot of people dine outside unless you dont mind sitting in the sun. The parking situation over here is okay because its in a mall plaza so there a lot of spots to pick from. I think when they allow drive up pickup then it would make things even more efficient but Im pretty sure they are still working out the logistics for this.

Ive been to this Portos location a solid 10 times in the past 6 months since i found out it opened. The location is really big and clean and even when slammed the staff can keep up with all the orders. During peak times the line for Portos spills outside onto the sidewalk. The quality and taste is just as consistent as every other Portos on any day of the week. The chicken croquettes, mango mousse bomb, and the dulce du leche besitos are a must have. Staff is always friendly and ready to help. We love this Portos.

Much larger and easier to get in and out of than the Burbank location.Tips on online orders:They only allow same day ordering.If you cannot pick it up the same day, they will not hold the order for you.If you order several dozen chocolate chip cookies, they will give them in separate dozen boxes.They will provide you with different size boxes if your looking to give them as gifts in boxes other than what they initially package them in.The bakery line moves really quickly and they have a coffee, smoothie area. I visited twice and the coffee area didn’t have a long line, even when the bakery line was very long.I ordered an horchata, cheese rolls, potato meat ball, turkey and gravy potato balls, and chocolate chip cookies. I think most people in LA can say love Portos! Its always packed here for several great reasons. So if youre stopping by during the breakfast, lunch, or dinner hours... youll find yourself waiting in a long line. It usually goes by quick but its worth the wait. The prices are also good for the quality and freshness of their items. Staff is always friendly, plenty of parking available. Not sure but it did move quickly, so it wasnt a problem. A friendly employee helped us purchase one of those and 2 of those offering descriptions when we asked. As it was back then, the Northridge location is no different- the good thing is that now you can order ahead with a scheduled pick up time. I only go in to Portos for the coffee bar just to get a drink. Even when the line wraps around the building, I walk past the line, go get my coffee, and leave with no issues. NOT THIS TIME. I waited on hold for 20 minutes and when they finally answered I asked the girl on the phone to talk to a manager and she said that they arent allowed to put managers on the phone. Many years ago, i went to Portos Bakery in Burbank, CA. A few months ago, they opened a new location on the property of Northridge Mall. It is a Cuban bakery/restaurant with European influence. The lunch consisted of iceberg lettuce, hot bacon slices, chicken pieces, avocado, and Cilantro pesto dressing. For beverages, i had a mango juice with ice tea. Delicious! And for dessert, a kind of plum strudel in a cookie crust base. Portos menu is eclectic, healthy, and offers a variety of sandwiches, soups, salads, a full bakery, and a coffee bar. It has been three days since I’ve eaten here and I’m still thinking how excellent the pork tamales, chicken empanadas, and potato balls were! This was my first time at the Northridge Portos. I normally go to the one in Burbank. This one is huge and modern looking.I stopped by during hurricane Hilary thinking no one in their right mind would be out. The parking lot was packed. I think I found the last space.They had wet floor caution signs up and bags for wet umbrellas. It was bustling inside. The staff were busy but so pleasant. If Im not mistaken they were all wearing face masks too.I guess everyone thought the same thing as me.... Portos would make for some comforting storm food. Although it was very busy, I dont think I waited even 5 minutes for my food. I was in and out quickly.I dont even have to speak on the food. It is always delicious. Can you say potato balls!

I came here to study and although it was a bit noisy worker at Porto’s, Leslie was very attentive and made it a great experience! As soon as I sat down she wiped my table and swept the floor around me and served me napkins. I got an iced matcha and it was a good level of sweetness I also got the spicy Milanesa sandwich was warm and crispy, the avocado had a hint of lime it was delicious! Love going to Portos and order me a cheese guava with a coffee, sit outdoors and enjoy it. When is not too hot or cold. I am so happy that is close to home a d dont have to drive to Burbank. I have order their ropa Viejas sandwich and is super good! as well as their Plato de pollo (grill citrus chicken breast. If i want something small just to snack sit and relax I usually order one meat pie or potato balls.

Prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food. Theres always long lines so you know food is great! Despite the lines, it moves fast. There are many servers and counter staff to take orders so the lines move along. Try to come on weekdays to avoid the long lines.

Portos Northridge has been open for 3 weeks. We got here at 6:40am waited in the outside line, got inside at 7:30am and reached the counter at 7:38am. The line moved rather quickly. As always, all the pastries are fresh and beautiful! The is a large indoor cafe, an inside lounge/ eating area and a large patio full of tables and chairs, plenty of places to sit and enjoy tea, coffee and pastries.Definitely worth the wait!
