Place wasnt crowded but still recommend making a reservation - there were maybe 2 tables free when we were there.Parking on site is valet and costs $8. Street parking is cheaper / free, depending on where you find a spot. The service was very friendly and nice, but a little slow. They gave us free Hungarian crepes on the house, which was nice (and yum!).I tried the beef stew, chicken paprikas, and pork cubes. Approve all of them - pork cubes were probably my favorite. The steak cut fries were great too.Overall would recommend!

2023-06-11 00:20:57Highly recommend trying Hungarian food.I recently had the pleasure of dining at this fantastic restaurant, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted with a warm and friendly atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The customer service at this establishment is truly top-notch. The staff members are not only attentive but also incredibly polite, going above and beyond to ensure that every guest has a memorable experience. They were knowledgeable about the menu and gladly answered all my questions, providing excellent recommendations that suited my preferences perfectly. Now, lets talk about the food. Oh boy, the food! It was an absolute delight for my taste buds. Each dish was meticulously prepared with a perfect blend of flavors and textures, leaving me craving more with every bite. The quality of the ingredients was evident, and the presentation was nothing short of exquisite. What amazed me the most was the incredible value for money. The dishes were reasonably priced, considering the outstanding quality and generous portions. In fact, I couldnt help but feel that the food should cost more, given the exceptional experience and the level of craftsmanship that went into creating each dish.Beyond the delectable cuisine, the restaurant also boasts a charming ambiance that enhances the overall dining experience. The interior decor is tastefully done, creating a warm and inviting space for guests to relax and enjoy their meals. The attention to detail in the design and layout further contributes to the restaurants appeal.

2023-08-29 14:35:25One of the best meals I have had and an excellent way to celebrate my birthday. We started with salads as appetizers and shared them, excellent. Moved to main courses and loved all of it, great flavors. I had the hungarian stew, and tried most of the dishes as well, plenty of food for us, none left at the end. To enter we had tiramisu and trifle. All 7 of us lived the meal, I look forward to going back.

2023-05-24 18:15:41My husband & I decided to try the Hungarian food from the Italian & Hungarian menu tonight. The soups, “Beef soup” & “Tarragon soup”, were served hot and with house-made bread. My main course was “Blood sausage and liver sausage, pan fried,“ and served with mashed potatoes (roasted potatoes were also available). My husband had „Chicken Paprikás with paprika, sour cream and homemade dumplings“. The dessert was called „Zserbo“, sweet yeast dough with walnuts, chocolate, and apricot jam. So absolutely delicious that we couldnt get enough of it!Every dish was authentic, and served in nice portions. I know that many people cannot imagine eating blood sausage, but if you had it before you would say theirs is excellent and very tasty. The very outgoing and friendly manager Péter (Pietro), is from Hungary, but also lived and worked in Naples, Italy, so spoke to guests in Hungarian, Italian or English.Because we asked, he explained where he got the recipes from. In addition to his time in Italy, he had worked at Ago, a very fine Italian Restaurant at which my husband had eaten several times, and has some dishes exactly as they were served there, with lots of family tradition for the Hungarian dishes. The service was fast, friendly, and pleasant, as was the atmosphere. You can have valet parking in front of the restaurant for $7, or find street parking. From our point of view, the food was delicious and everything was very promising. We saw many other menu items wed like to try, and will surely come back.

2023-01-16 10:36:38We had a wonderful Sunday lunch in this friendly Hungarian-Italian restaurant. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. We had calamari appetizer, goulash soup, weiner schnitzel and stuffed cabbage. It was all fresh and tasted great. Our dessert was amazing and even the espresso was good! Throughout we were treated warmly. We will be back for more!

2023-09-07 09:41:45Im from Romania originally and am of mixed Romanian-Hungarian descent and have truly been missing a real Hungarian restaurant, which in my opinion is equal parts: remarkable and authentic food, top notch service, and finally, wonderful ambiance. I couldnt be happier that I found Posto 896 because they truly provide all three of these components, with an outstanding 5 out of 5 stars in each category. To top it all off, the owner is one of the kindest, most cultured, well read, and interesting individuals I have ever met. You will get served a delicious meal with a history lesson on the side. Truly a pleasure stepping into this gem, every single time. Try it out for yourself, you will not be disappointed.
