President Thai Restaurant in Pasadena

I was thoroughly impressed with this Thai restaurant, which we discovered on LAs list of top eateries. It lived up to its reputation by offering exceptionally tasty dishes. The service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was welcoming. I visited with my family, and we all enjoyed a variety of plates, each one delightful. While parking can be challenging, its worth the wait for a spot. This establishment also serves the best Thai iced tea Ive ever tasted, with just the right amount of sweetness and rich flavor.

Theyre super kind and attentive! Came here for a friends birthday and had a great time celebrating them. Theyre super fast with ordering and helping us make decisions along with serving the food. Looking forward to coming back soon! Parking was a bit tough, its small right where they are but I saw there was street parking and additional parking around the area.

This place can be a little hard to find because its tucked in in a non-descript area but no problem when you know its there. Decent amount of parking. There are usually a lot of people there. The service is superior. We had no trouble getting all of our questions answered about the menu items. They were generous with the water even leaving a full pitcher on the table. They offered both chopsticks and forks. The portions are absolutely massive. They not only brought you containers to take out food if you had leftovers but also a bag to put the boxes in. The food came out very clearly freshly cooked using fresh ingredients. Vegetables were all well done but not overcooked. Everything seemed clean and the decorations were lovely. I had only one complaint and honestly its not the restaurants fault but for some reason a large family decided that it was okay to have their child watching a tablet at the table turned all the way up. So literally the entire restaurant had to listen to this little girls program that she was watching. Eventually it was turned off but I wish the staff had gone over immediately and asked them to stop. Anyway highly recommended would definitely go back.

Came here around 5:30 for dinner so there wasnt much of a wait. However, there were already quite a lot of people seated and only 2 parking spots left. The parking lot is a bit cramped but they do have extra parking available in the next building if you drive more. We were seated almost right away and ordered the Pad See Ew (17.95), President BBQ Beef (21.95), and the Tom Yum Soup with Chicken. The soup was served first and after around 10 minutes of waiting. The soup wasnt what I expected- too salty and sour. It didnt fit my taste so I couldnt drink much of it and only ate the chicken and mushroom in it. After the soup, the other 2 dishes took another 5 to 10 minutes to be served. They were both pretty good- much better than the soup. The pad see ew and the beef were both very flavorful. However, the beef was a bit too charred and the flavor felt too strong as I ate more of it. The portions are also very small for the price. If I had a bigger appetite or ate with people with bigger appetites, 3 dishes would definitely not be enough. As for the service and enivornment, the servers were fast and friendly but it is very loud inside that I can barely have a conversation. Overall, the food wasnt bad and felt like authentic thai food. My favorite would be the pad thai see ew and I would like to try the other pad thai, fried rices, and meat dishes. I can see why the restaurant gets so busy. The portions are just disappointing though.

We had a delicious meal here yesterday. It was our first time to try this place and we loved every. Single. Bite. We ordered three items to share: crispy fried calamari, Tom Kah soup (coconut soup), and President’s pineapple fried rice. Everything was excellent! Flavors, portions, heat level all good. We also had good service even though the place was packed. We will be back!

This is a great thai restaurant. Service was absolutely great. The server was phenomenal. My wife has an allergy to anything shellfish. He recommended other items . We tried the veggie fried rice spicy. It was spicy. The veggie egg rolls were crispy . Pad see mow. Chicken satay delicious. To end it off with mango sticky rice . Hell yeah

Today I ordered take out and they were very busy. I had to wait a while. I ordered president Thai BBQ beef. Its very tasty but portion size has been reduced significantly but the price is the same. However, all the restaurants prices have increased everywhere. Today I spent $25 on take out of one dish.

My family has avoided dining in since the mid-2010s, due to the packed-in tables creating a not-entirely pleasant atmosphere. We usually enjoy the takeout, but the food has deteriorated in quality over time. They try to make dishes seem bigger by putting in excessive amounts of cheaper ingredients. Below is a photo of what was left after my household ate some takeout silver noodles with shrimp: onions, onions, celery, and onions. (I typically try to order everything w/out onions in order to avoid this problem.)

Bad Customer Service (45 mins wait for food) and low food quality.I normally dont write a review unless it is excellent or very bad.I came to the restaurant at 4pm on Sunday 7/9/23 and the capacity was 40%. There are lot of waiters but they left me to sit on my table for 15 mins without asking anything (They have passed me so many times) until I waved them and asked if I could order.Then I had to waiter 30 mins and the food did not come. I had to stand up to ask the waiter if I could have my food or I would leave.I ordered Squid salad and a bowl of rice. The squid came with a super bitter unsusual taste like you eat a rubber band. I notified to the waiter, he offered to make a new dish but i do not want to wait 30 mins again for a simple dish. So I paid and left. Stil, they charged me at full price without an apology.This is a horrible experience. You only have 40% full and you have to let the customers wait for 45 mins for food? And the food was not right, then you should offer an apology or discount because the customer didnt even eat the food.I would have never ever come back to this restaurant

Food is good. Service is great. Came on a Friday night, they are super busy, and service was still amazing. The portions are good compare to many thai restaurant in the area. The prawns are very fresh and I love the sauce.
