THIS is the place that Merced has been missing! So many burger joints in Merced and all of them keep missing the mark or have just gotten complacent. Theyve got real competition now cause going forward if I want a GREAT smash burger, Im going here.It definitely gave me that late 70s/80s smash burger diner feel with a modern twist. I got a Double Pretty Good Burger and got the sides - onion rings (fairly certain theyre beer battered), fries, and a drink. And I gotta say that the burger was pretty good! And the price point was also a plus! I got it the way it came but added jalapenos as they didnt have bacon tonight. Although the patties were smashed right, they were pretty dry, this is the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5. Im going to try a triple and see if that fixes the problem like at in n out, however a smash burger should already be juicy even with just one patty. If they can fix that issue a 5 star update will be done. Overall it was a great old school smash burger, the onion rings and crinkle fries were PERFECT. Only thing missing is a shake machine! Ill definitely be going back, as again, this is whats been missing in Merced

I found myself thinking about this place a few times over the last two weeks after my first visit. I ordered a double “Pretty Classic Burger” this time and it more than hit the spot! The meat was juicy and seasoned well 👌🏼 This is the place in Merced to get a (sorry) pretty good burger 🍔😂

Forget about any other burger place in town this is the spot! 😮‍💨⛽️ fresh, flavor full, and fast! Loved that as soon as you walk in you smell lovely food! 😮‍💨🤌🧑‍🍳🔥🔥 the fries were a bit undercooked but literally just a bit like one more min would have been good! But we still ate them! Can’t wait to have more of this place!

Came through with my family for dinner. They do have a grilled cheese option for kids, which is nice. They were out of fries when we went so we had tots. The onion rings are pretty good too. They do serve a good burger with a nice crispy sear, its just a bit on the greasy side and gave me heartburn the next day. Otherwise its a pretty decent burger it reminds me of the old school drive in type burgers. Also an FYI for the water drinkers they sell water bottles and they have water on tap as well but they charged like $2-3 for the tap water cup

The food is always hot and delicious. The staff is super nice and helpful too. Ive been here at least 3 times and havent had a bad experience. I look forward to returning :) I really enjoy their fries with ranch, and it makes me come back!

Should change the name to pretty great burger! The burgers are cooked in a way that the patties have a nice toastie crunch on the outside edge of the meat. A really nice change from most burgers. The onion rings are excellent! When you bite the rings the onions are cooked just right so the onion stays in the batter it doesnt pull out the onion.

The patty was excellent and really made all the difference. The sauce has a pleasant spice to it. Had a lot of perfect bites, and the staff was kind. One patty was plenty for me; if you get two patties, you may want to add some more tomatoes/toppings because the patty is on the salty side.

Very great quality food for a good price! Absolutely loved the fries and onion rings. Fries are very seasoned and onion rings are flaky yet crispy at the same time and caramelized. So delicious. Much recommended.

Simplicity at its best. I ordered a double Pretty Classic Burger with their tots. Everything about this place is simple. It reminded me of how simple In-N-Outs menu is. Straight forward. The burger I got was perfect and the tots had the perfect crisp! Would come here again.

Burger was...pretty good! The meat was tasty and plenty of cheese. I had to add more special sauce though. Onion rings were good too. Staff was friendly. Just a little pricey compared to In n Out or The Habit.

Pretty Good Burger is a clean establishment. The staff are neat and friendly. The atmosphere around the restaurant is festive and alive! However, the actual food is so-so.Plenty of meat but the flavor just isnt awe inspiring.

We came by a little after the lunch rush and got a good table in the back. The service was pleasant and the food was really good. Im not a huge fan of smash burgers so I was very surprised.There is no reason to take away any stars because it is not the restaurants fault but I will have to say parking wasnt super easy and Im 32 weeks pregnant and I almost didnt fit in the booth and would opt for a table with chairs next time or take it to go!

IM A HARD CRITIC & I SCORE IT A VERY HIGH 4 (4.9/5☆)...IVE BEEN TO ALOT OF BURGER SPOTS. THESE PATTIES ARE SEASONED TO A RIGHTFUL PERFECTION, NOT DROWNED IN GREASE, FRESH & CORRECT. The food here was very good, some of the best burgers Ive had! The burger was soft enough that my one year old could eat it and he really enjoyed it. Great service! The only thing that I thought wasnt so great was the music. The music topic seemed a bit inappropriate, which made me uncomfortable, especially since I had my one year old with me.

Pretty Good Burger lives up to the name. The food is really good and the service is amazing! I took my family here and we all loved the food. One of my teenagers loved it so much he wanted to come back later that night with his friends. I highly recommend you check this place out!

Been here once and it was amazing today I go in get a classic and fries the meet that was thrown on my burger was sitting there when I walked in so burger was cold but flavor was there fries I can tell was not fresh second time was not what I got the first time unfortunately

This place is really unique looking and in a good spot downtown. The food was sooo bomb, pretty big burger classic style was so good, the fries were good too and i definitely recommend the house made ranch 👍🏼 Price wasn’t too bad either, and they had reallyyy good customer service! I hope they keep it up

I think that pretty good burger has amazing burgers. I would rather eat there than on and out. I try to go there once a week. Their frys and onion rings are out of this world. The meat is so fresh that they take and uncooked meatball and mash it on the grill when you order it . I love that place

The hamburgers are outstanding, like homemade, grilled and seasoned with all the fixings! Theres nothing better than going back to 4 choices on the menu so its an easy order! The ambience could be more homey and inviting and there service is at the counter but friendly. Maybe a little more warmth and color inside. Otherwise a good eat!

Had my first meal there today! I had a complaint about my first burger and they were very kind and made me another. Im glad I went back in because the way they handled it showed me they valued customer service (which is a dying value these days).The burger was absolutely delicious! There was a light char on the burger patty that made it next level! Fair pricing, good sauces, perfect seasoning, neat assembly, clean store, and great service! Theres no reason not to try this place at least once. Ill be back for sure!

Burgers are good but not better than the famous place with the long lines down the street, fries are amazing and probably the best in town. The dipping ranch is lacking its thicker and more mayo forward, so many locations have better ranch but overall. Onion rings were not good in my opinion. Nice spot but not the best burger in town even though its more expensive and lack of drive through and sometimes no parking nearby make it less accessible.

It would be 5 stars because the burgers are AMAZING!!! However... it says open 5pm to 9pm and after waiting 20 minutes in the cold no one has showed to open and no note was posted. But if you can catch them open I would definitely eat there.
