I really enjoy the food here, and the people are very friendly. Its important to know that this restaurant serves both meat and vegetarian Thai dishes. While the name might not make it seem entirely vegetarian, they still have a lot of vegan options for me to choose from. I tried vegan drunken noodles while my friend vegetarian wontons

I believed Thai food was foolproof but this place proved me wrong. All the reviews are fake because they give out free boba for a review. Boba was awful and tasted like flavored milk from grocery store. Ordered pad Thai and pines apple fried rice for different spice level. There was no spice no flavor. Utterly disappointed.

No idea how this place gets good ratings. The Chef is AWFUL. I live in area and try this place 1-2x ever year or so. EVERY time its a fail. Today I order 2x dishes, one with shrimp. The shrimp has clearly been swimming in water for days as its NOT fresh, it has the consistency of a soggy wet tissue and falls apart in your mouth. Theyre probably super cheap and do not care, so use old shrimp to save money. ZERO spice for level 5, I cant even see the spice or taste it. I go in to get 2x meals and NO sauces are given, I ask her and she gives me ONE packet of soy sauce for 2x big meals. Waste of $40.You get another meal, and its always ONE thing thats not cooked correctly, example: Everything is fine BUT your potatos are rock hard and under cooked. Figure it out.

Avocado curry here is the best I’ve had. This is a great spot with my favorite Thai food! I’ve only ordered takeout so can’t speak to the sit down dining experience. But the staff is nice and service is fast for takeout.

The servers are nice, and the atmosphere is beautiful. I got the papaya salad, sticky rice, and Thai iced tea. I asked for no ice in the water, and spice level of 6 after they explained that 4 is medium. I asked if the Papaya salad tastes like it does in Thailand, so I would think they know I am ready for Thai spice, but it wasnt spicy enough. It was too salty, and I usually like a lot of salt (I hope it wasnt msg, should have asked ahead). The sticky rice was very hard and disappointing like it had been microwaved, but everything else looked quite fresh.

One of the best red curries that I had. I chose a spice level of 7 and it was so good. The portion size was double the amount that I eat. I finished it all tho😅😋😋 Pair it with the thai tea(add coconut milk). I’d def recommend y’all to go enjoy your lunch at this place!!

Everything is super delicious!! Pictured is the cashew nut entree with tofu and veggies, also the tom kha soup. I always get take out but have ate in a few times. The atmosphere is nice. One of my go to places for Thai. Parking lot is small and can be tough in the summer months but most of the time no problem.

Amazing thai food at a great price! I have attached a picture of the lunch special with spicy tofu noodle (the plate is HUGE) and the fresh tofu spring rolls in the back. The portions are large so arrive hungry! Food is very fresh and everything we have tried has been great (coconut soup, yellow curry, pad thai, spring roll, pad-see-iw, spicy noodle, etc. Even if you are not in mood for a sit down lunch they make all meals to go and the portions are still very large and coming in for just the honey Boba in Thai iced tea is fine too! We get it to go quite frequently. Will keep coming back for more!

Wife and I ordered vegetarian pad see-iw and Thai basil. These are both dishes Ive had several times from various restaurants. Both our dishes smelled and tasted off. I cant quite put my finger on it. Smell was a little little burnt popcorn, so maybe they burned the oil? Or the oil was rancid? The vegetables themselves seemed to be fresh and of high quality, which is unfortunate because they were ruined by whatever they were cooked in. Regardless, what normally is a comfort food for me I finished only reluctantly, and my wife didnt finish hers at all. We didnt even bother to pack up the leftovers, which is highly unusual for us (we NEVER leave food on the table). We noticed they had a sign offering free Thai tea for leaving a Google or Yelp review which makes me wonder how many of these 5-star reviews were just left for free tea.

I had never been a fan of curry until I tried this place. Their mango curry is always my go to. Their panang curry is also really good, along with their fresh spring rolls, coconut shrimp, and egg rolls. The pad see ew is also really flavorsome. I really like the fact that they have multiple options for proteins (vegetarian options as well) They have an item on the menu called “money bags” that I’ve been eager to try (it’s a combination of minced shrimp, peas, carrots, and water chestnuts, seasoned to perfection, wrapped in wonton skin served with sweet chili sauce) that according to the waitress has not been served in months. I’m hoping that one day I will be able to savor this appetizer. Definitely try it out!P.s, the parking lot that the restaurant is in is small, but there’s public street parking in case you aren’t able to secure a spot in the lot.

I really like the food here but I will never go back.I placed and order and came home started eating it when I realized they gave me the wrong thing so I called and told them.They asked me the bring it backI reluctantly brought back the food and they gave me my correct order.I made them promise me that no one else had been through my order but I still couldn’t believe her.If they are willing to repackage an order someone else touched and ate and sell it to someone else - god knows what other disgusting things they do in the kitchen.Never going back and will be reporting to the health department

I rarely leave reviews. Consistently very good every time I go there. Nice staff, food is delicious. They deserve 5 stars, because they consistently do everything well; great food, service, and smooth transaction, packaged well and timely. Hard to have all four things described consistently in San Diego. They do a great job, and wish them more success. Even give a discount if paying cash, although really their prices are pretty good anyway.

I really like the atmosphere, lighting and decoration. The service was good. The food was awesome except the tofu was a failure. It was overcooked, almost burnt on the outside and almost raw on the inside. The cashew curry was really good and the chicken salad was good too, except it had too much dressing. I think next time Ill ask for the dressing on the side.

They pad their takeout boxes with salad mix to avoid giving you more of the actual item you ordered. That being said, it was criminally overpriced, it was absolutely not worth what I paid, it was a quarter of what I expected to receive and I got more sauce than entree. Somehow when I was ordering food from my local Pure Thai restaurant (Vancouver, Wa.) I was switched to this restaurant! I ordered my food and when I realized it wasn’t the correct location or even the same state I called the restaurant within four minutes and canceled the order and the gentleman that I spoke with told me that he was able to cancel it, and to call the people who run the online service. I did and was told that the owner of Pure Thai said my food had been prepared and refused to refund my $40+ dollars. . . My food wasn’t done in four freaking minutes! Buyer beware they are unethical owners!!! Support your local restaurants that care!

I crave the Tofu Green Curry. It is so good, and it reheats really well. My son is a big fan of the Chicken Thai Fried Rice, and their beef summer salad is really good (and spicy) too. I have ate at many different Thai restaurants and this one is the least delicios of all. I ordered several times because i supported local biz, but on 3/28/21 the avocado was bad( half was black), and therefore i called to let them know. After a while they told me that they would make me a different one next time for free. I called them 2 days later and they said i need me to bring back an old order to get the new one. I was not told to bring back the old order, basically they just keep going around and around and not credit nor make me a new dish. I wish i know how to post a photo of the bad dish

We used to love Pure Thai, but after today we will not be returning...Veggie Gyozas came cold, Papaya Salad overly spicy (for being #3 ...and we know the scale), and Avocado Veggie Curry lacked flavor with some pieces of the eggplant being NASTY (we literally had to spit them out in disgust).When we politely shared the feedback with two separate waitresses who asked about our meal, both independently made the excuse that they were “busy” (which they were not... and even if so that should not be a valid excuse) and that they would “try harder next time” - to which we kindly replied that there won’t be a next time.Pure Thai just lost some previously very loyal customers and evangelist who had brought many people to their restaurant. Ordered one thing, then half an hour later they try to give me a completely different dish. I then say no I would like what I ordered. They then bring me the same thing in a to go box even though i was very clear that I wanted to eat there. Never again. Food was good but goodness could they use some better customer support.

This place it IT. Been everywhere else, and this is the end all be all Thai in SD. If you dont absolutely love this place, your doing it wrong. I would give them 6 stars if I could. Eat here often enough to put their kids through college, and I dont regret a single meal ;) ...treat your self, get some Thai!
