Sarah was phenomenal! Been wanting to get a certain haircut done for years and no one has been able to achieve it but she was so meticulous with it, it took some time but the outcome was exactly how I wanted it! I’m glad she took her time and asked me if it’s to my liking, etc.I was also a few minutes late to my appointment due to traffic and they were still accommodating. I had my 2 year old with me who just woke up from a nap as well. The staff were so sweet with her giving her snacks and one of them, named Kitty even helped clean my daughter’s hands from the Ferrero Rocher!!The haircut was amazing and the staff was so friendly and warm. Exactly what I wanted!!

Rocio is amazing! She understands hair - v knowledgeable and patient. Love my hair blowouts. Also a special shout out to Melissa ( front desk). I ordered a latte from Coupa next door & was going to collect it. She immediately offered to bring it for me. Diana ( one of the owners) also introduced herself to me. I also like their clear policies on cancellations, stylist prices and rescheduling appointments. It’s also listed on their website.Personally love that transparency in a business.Their customer service is truly exceptional and so far soo happy with my hair color & blowouts.Thanks Rocio - you are a star!

My favorite hair stylist! I have been coming to Diana for haircuts since 2011 and followed her to several locations before they all set up Pursuit. I have never left unsatisfied and my haircut can last up to six months in a pinch. However, I try to go more frequently because a fresh cut always feels so great!Diana is really skilled and has done everything on me from a short bob, to long lengths, to medium layers, to long layers over the years. Each time it’s looked amazing. She is constantly changing her technique and learning new skills.The salon itself on the inside is gorgeous, with comfortable seating, offers of coffee and tea or water. They also sell a range of products.I know everyone at the salon is well trained and professional— the longtime clients speak for the high quality of the salon and their skills- All the stylists have gone through extensive training. I highly, highly recommend!

I’ve been looking for a salon for the past 4 years (since moving to the Bay Area from out of state). A friend recommended Pursuit. I admit I was tentative about it because many stylists just can’t do my hair. It is very curly, thick, and I have lots of it! Blowouts at salons often look frizzy. My hair was fried by the stylists at other salons and I was so disappointed that I had to cut it all off to allow healthier hair to grow back.Today, I walked out of Pursuit feeling like a million bucks! Had my grey roots colored, a glaze, and a fun short haircut. My color looks even with no brassiness.The cut stylist (Vincent) gave me great advice on how he could cut my hair so that it’s not so challenging as it grows out. His work is meticulous and his blowout was top notch. This is the salon to go to in the peninsula! I’m so excited to FINALLY find a salon to call home!!! My hair is happy again!

Had booked a color appointment which then was cancelled on me last minute as Dalisha had something come up, I let the girl on the phone know I will reschedule but need it done before a trip and she said if something happens again next time she will make sure someone else can see me. Now I get another call saying Dalisha can’t make it on this rescheduled appointment either causing me to scramble and find another salon. How unprofessional to cancel on someone twice with the money I’ve spent here and the cancellation policy they have here. Not impressed or coming back

Whitney is the best colorist I’ve ever had. Having lived in DC and Toronto and going to the best salons in both cities, no other colorist came close to her skills and expertise. I get so many compliments on the color of my blonde hair.

I just got the best balayage of my life here! Rocio is a superstar magician and I cant sing her praises enough. The best hair salon in the Bay! Usually I’m not easily impressed but Stephanie did an incredible job at highlighting my hair. She gave me exactly what I wanted. It came out perfect. I was curious if this place deserved their 5 stars and they ABSOLUTELY do! Claire, who is also one of the owners, cut my hair today and she was fantastic! She cuts hair very well and is so welcoming! She takes interests in her clients and was so helpful regarding hair and makeup referrals for my wedding! She also helped thin out and cut my hair piece. Would 100% recommend this place and if you can, request Claire.

Went a few months ago for a regular dye. Was going to be late because of an accident on the road, I called ahead multiple times to keep my stylist updated, and they canceled my appointment because I was going to be too late and changed me $200 as a cancellation fee.Very unprofessional in my opinion to charge someone $200 when they are late because of something uncontrollable. Very unfortunate considering they have some great stylists. Would recommend if you don’t have anything else in life going on and are able to get to your appointments an hour early just in case.

Alex would not take me after I was late 15 mins would not talk to me or even do a dry bang trim. I guess she feels she the queen of hair and will not bother with someone who is late even for the bang trim and then she charged my credit card for doing nothing I have disputed it with American Express, Pursuit Salon thinks or is trying to be classy well this shows no class

It’s hard finding hairstylists that can cut thick/coarse Asian hair so I’m happy to have found Vincent. It’s all in the details. I’ll definitely be back for my next haircut with Vincent.

I hate to leave bad reviews, but the staff here is very unprofessional. My daughter saved up her money to get a high end haircut, and got stuck in traffic on the way there. She communicated clearly, and was told that there was a grace period of 20 minutes. When she realized she would be 30 minutes late, she was told to not bother coming in, and she would be charged a cancellation fee. She understood, but was not notified that the fee would be the FULL charge of $300. She left several messages with no call back. I spoke to someone who refused to consider refunding even a portion of the fee. I believe they took advantage of a young person who trusted them to treat her with respect and grace at her first time to a salon. I expect more of a high end salon.

I have fine straight hair, and I wanted a more modern blunt short haircut, and I’m so glad I found Vincent! I switched many hairstylist over the years, and most of them don’t seem to have much experience with fine Asian hair, and always try to curl my hair instead of working with my natural texture. Love how my hair turned out. I also got several compliments on my hair!

I just moved to Northern California from San Diego. This was my first visit to Pursuit Salon and meeting Chris. The salon is beautiful and the front desk personnel were welcoming and helpful. Chris took the time to listen to what I was looking for in a hairstyle and looked at photos of my hair cut that my old stylist took, just after she finished the cut. He made a few suggestions, which worked beautifully with what I had in mind. Chris took his time and perfected the style while being personable and easy to talk to. I love what he did and am happy with the salon and Chris in particular.Update:Chris has an amazing talent. Hes a true hair artist and I am always 100%+ pleased with my hair when I leave. I always love going to Pursuit Salon because it feels like a spa day! The salon is beautiful, relaxing, with a very open layout, and all of the staff are welcoming and attentive. Today Cameron did a beautiful job of coloring my hair while my regular colorist was away. He was so fun and friendly and listened to all my comments and made sure I was comfortable with the plan going forward. The outcome was just what I wanted! I had an appointment here as a hair model with Sarah. I went in with no idea that this place even existed or what to expect and I left feeling amazing and so light. I hadn’t had my hair cut in YEARS and before then I had done it myself because I hadn’t had many good experiences in the salon before. I decided while I was there to make it a point to return for my next cut. Sarah did an amazing job on my hair! It was drastic and a big change because of my length and she handled it beautifully. Everyone I interacted with at the salon was so sweet, and the place has an amazing energy. It was a total mood booster and I’m so happy I found a place that Im confident I’ll leave feeling beautiful and excited. They gave me coffee, it smelled amazing, the lighting isn’t harsh, it has good air flow, I could go on about how much the whole environment really added to my experience but I want to thank Sarah again who cut my hair beautifully, patiently, and meticulously (all while being great at it) and the owners who very obviously ensure their salon leaves guests feeling the way I did. I saw other stylists mastering their craft on all types of hair, so if anyone’s reading this considering whether or not to visit Pursuit, please do! They deserve it, and I will be back once my hair grows out. Until then, I’m in love with my transformation and I couldn’t be happier that I went there to model for Sarah. Thank you guys so much!!

The best salon experience I’ve had in the SF Bay Area so far. The salon is very spacious and modern, space is beautifully designed, very comfortable. Perfect to switch off, relax and dedicate time to yourself.  The receptionists and staff are my favorite: they’re kind, welcoming and attentive, ready to answer all of your questions.  Diana is amazing hairstylist and creates a real life magic with her scissors! I didn’t believe my long damaged hair not only can be saved, but also can look and behave so gorgeous! Diana listened carefully to all my thoughts, ideas about haircut and found the option that suited best for my hair, inner feeling and everyday life. Katie is pure talent. Ive been to several stylists over the years and none of them come close to compare. First, she is a great listener. She asks questions and truly listens to understand. Vincent is extraordinary! His haircuts are so easy to work with. He cuts your hair so that it just falls into place. My hair is short and a bit fine. I go 6-7 weeks between cuts. As it grows out, I can continue to style it easily. I had a stylist for 15 years who I loved but had to leave her career. I was devastated! I am so lucky to have found Vincent immediately. Had no idea I’d be so impressed with his amazing skills. Vincent is also kind, funny and a good listener. Super professional salon with kind stylists and staff. I saw Macey for a deep conditioning treatment and she did such a wonderful job. I called the salon in advance since I have highly textured hair with tighter curls. The receptionist was more than happy to check in with her stylists to make sure someone could handle my hair. She took the time to listen to what I wanted, took her time with my color process and she genuinely cares about the quality of your hair (added a moisture masque to make sure my hair was ok after the color process) and had helpful suggestions regarding products. Pursuit is luxurious and still approachable, and the stylists here are all top notch. The front desk staff are always friendly and helpful, and offer coffee, tea or water upon your arrival. I found Pursuit via a recommendation from someone who works in the industry (another well regarded professional), and have been really happy with my haircuts. Alex is incredibly meticulous with her technique, and she makes sure that every lock of hair is cut so it falls just right. Pursuit Salon is incredible. I came into the salon desperate, following another salon ruining my hair, I was scheduled for a consultation with Katie. She listened, asked questions and most importantly cared, she brought in a stylist to co-consult on the situation of my hair. Between the two, we had a plan and the understanding that was demonstrated made me feel so much better.The first part of the plan was a Pura Luxe treatment, Macey did the treatment and she already knew my situation before I sat in the chair. She did such an incredible job, that the treatment actually helped to correct the color error from the other salon.She brought Alex back over and hey suggested I cancel the next appointment which was a full set of highlights. Step one of the solution fixed the problem. When I first saw Chris I didnt know what I wanted to do with my hair. I turned it over to him to give me a becoming cut that was blow and go without any fuss. Find any other salon in the bay area, I’m sure it’s better than this one. I did a hair treatment before the holidays. They said they will call me back and after several attempts of me reaching out to them, i finally booked an appointment. I suffered and had the worst hair day for our grand vacation.Fast forward you pursuit, now we are mending and getting my hair back on track. Lots of cutting needs to happen and lots of touch up.However, I’m confident my hair will be back to its usual glory. I’m one of those people who always gets complimented for my hair and I love that. I lost this with the disaster and now I know we are well on our way back to being the lady with the beautiful hair. 😊

I came and saw Macey for a women’s haircut. She was pleasant and easy to talk to, and listened to what I wanted. I have fine hair, but a lot of it, and macey did a quick and painless job with a trim and layering. The products she used were great for my specific hair type and it looks and feels so smooth and light now! The salon also did an excellent job with social distancing and masking. There were also plexiglass walls between each salon chair and I felt safe (I visited May 2021). Would highly recommend if you’re looking for a nice salon. The price is high, but on par with all other higher-end Bay Area salon prices.

I have been going to Vincent Gu for almost a year and am extremely happy with the results. I have been looking for a stylist who is meticulous and precise; Vincents haircuts are meticulous. It was an excellent experience from the phone call and reception to Macey’s expert styling. The salon is beautifully decorated and immaculately kept. All of the staff were so kind and helpful.
