Yum! This place was busy on a Sunday afternoon and there was a wait for our food but it was worth it.The noodles were fresh and the broths were flavorful. Will definitely go back again. We ordered the pan fried and the steamed dumplings to try too. We like the pan fried dumplings more.

Qin West Noodle is located on the east side of the UTC Mall in La Jolla. Parking at UTC is free for the first two hours. There are two options to order: place your order at a kiosk or at the register if you are paying cash. By paying cash, you get a 3% discount. This restaurant doesn’t want customers to pay tip or the 4% service charge that some restaurants are now imposing on patrons. Their menu stated: Self Service. No tips. Enjoy. Patrons have to find their own tables after placing the orders. Since there are no waitstaff, patron has to clean their own table, if needed. Inside the restaurant, each table has a tub of disposable disinfectant wipes, chopsticks and napkins for customers perusal. They have a free purified water station next to the cash register. We like the concept of 100% self-service and didn’t mind cleaning our table and taking our trash to the designated area after our meal. This restaurant has open kitchen. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seatings with umbrellas. Also, there is outdoor mall seating just right outside the restaurant. We ordered the traditional beef noodle soup with round rice noodles and extra gai lan; spicy won ton noodle soup with ramen noodle, pan fried dumplings and cold thick cut beef tendons. Wait time for our food was about 20 minutes. The last item to come out was the pan fried dumplings which was brought to our table by the kitchen staff. The hot noodle soup bowls were hot and delicious, good portions with generous amounts of won tons and tender beef chunks. The noodles were cooked perfectly. The broth was clear, flavorful, not greasy and not salty. We loved the cold beef tendons, chewy texture and full of collagen and marinated in a delight sauce. Pan fried dumplings were crispy outside with a tasty filling inside. We couldn’t finish the noodle bowls and ended up with some leftovers to take home. Overall, Qin West Noodle offers authentic casual Chinese comfort food, friendly kitchen staff and the food was very well priced given that is located at the UTC Mall. You can get desserts, made by others, here such as Koconut Coconut Pudding. We will definitely come back to try other dishes.

Legitimately a very good place. The food is fantastic and uses real, good quality ingredients. The chef is a clearly a noodle master. The noodles and wonton don’t get soggy even after ~20 minutes. We were talking a lot and eating a bit slowly but the noodles held their shape/texture and did not become soggy. The wontons as well held their delicate shape. Absolutely fantastic texture and mouth feel on the noodles. Nice flavor on the noodles, I got the spiciest level but it wasn’t too spicy, more of a medium. The wonton soup was great. You can taste the deep slow cooked beef soup was cooked patiently - they definitely did not use some premade instant powder. We also had the mo sandwich. The bread was fantastic, crispy outside and perfectly chewy inside. Meat was tender and had a nice cumin flavor. Very good and not even a little oily. Highly recommend. It’s self service - you order from an iPad and pickup the food when they call your name. You do have to wipe down the table yourselves since the staff does not leave the kitchen. The place is modern and well decorated. It was very busy the whole time we were there.

Location is 3 stars - Google Maps led us to the Westfield mall with plenty of parkings. The restaurant has 8 small tables inside and 2 small tables outside.Self Service 2 stars - An old lady dont know how to use the tablet. The staffs did not help her, so I helped her to order food.Food are 4 stars - Beef (tender) noodle (al dente) soup and pork (dripping oil) bun match the best we had. Steamed dumplings are only average variety. Handmade Kokonut pudding is yummy and come in a cute glass jar.

Was a little confusing ordering as you can use the self serve kiosks or if paying cash can also order at the front. There were seats available inside and outside (opted to sit inside). Food does take a while to be made and the time it takes varies by entree (~20 min). The saozi noodle dish was ready early but the spicy chicken entree took much longer. We also didnt realize the entree didnt come with rice.Food wise we thought it tasted good and had decent portions, but as first timers wish there was a bit more explanation on the ordering system.

We love UTC, and we stumbled upon Qin West. We typically get small bites or Happy Lemon when we go there, but we didn’t eat lunch and we walked by, and we were curious…so we tried it! Glad we did because it was such a fast, on-the-go, affordable, filling AND delicious meal. The noodles were perfectly chewy and the broth was 🔥. If you are looking to get your noodle or broth fix in, this is the place. It is all self-service and everything is a quick turnaround. Only reason why I marked down atmosphere is because it’s really a grab, eat and go type of vibe. Not really a place you’re trying to chill and lounge at. Check it out if you’re at UTC!

I would give it a 4 in service if the line wasn’t always out the door and they actually answered the phone. Besides that the food is always good! Dry noodle medium spicy is the go too! 👌🏽☺️

My little one loves one of their noodles (beef soup with flat noodle). Too greasy for me. When we go their we just sit and wait while she eats, not eating one. Not worth $16 IMO.

Wait wasnt long, the food is hot and taste really good, they have a complimentary soy sauce and spicy sesame soy sauce on the table to add to the flavor on the food, although small, the ambience inside this restaurant really makes you feel like you traveled to China, its great. The food ordering process is all self service, perfect for introverted people like me xDIf you like Chinese food and are okay with self-service this would be a good restaurant to visit in!
