One of the most authentic char kway teows you could eat outside of SG/Malaysia. Laksa was also really good, but the highlight was for sure the char kway teow.Anyone who says otherwise has never had authentic char kway teow before!

Me and my Neighbors were all quarantined for 2 weeks due to COVID. We finally all tested negative. We love ethic foods so we decided to celebrate by visiting different restaurants. I wanted Malaysian/Singaporean food. We already celebrated going out to diner to a Thai Restaurant the previous night. So, we decided to do lunch. The Malaysian/Singaporean Restaurants that I used to go were all closed down due to COVID. Luckily, one of the neighbors is from Malaysia. She also could not locate the Malaysian Restaurants she used to go. This COVID did a number on these restaurants. She called around and asked her Malaysian/Singaporean friends. Two friends recommended QQ Kopitiam in Pasadena. So, we went. We live in Long Beach area. Pasadena is a good 50 minutes drive and we hit two accidents on the way. The restaurant is small. Parking is on the streets. However, the food is great. This is not a fancy restaurant but quite authentic. This is the kind of food you would get in the streets of Malaysia or Singapore. We ordered Singapore Laksa, Indonesian Fried Rice, Char Kway Teow, Hokkien Mee, Fried Tofu and Shrimp Egg Roll for a party of four. We also have 4 ice coffees and a lychee drink. We cleaned the plates. The food was that good. It is a long drive for us but we plan to go back. If anyone who wants to try South Eastern Asian Food. This is worth a trip to explore. Just be aware this is mostly a take-out restaurant. It would not be able to accommodate a large party.

Ive eaten Char Kuey Teow in many places and countries. This Char was up with the best. Spicy was perfect for us. Seasoned perfectly and,of course, piping hot.Highly Recommended.Ill be back for Laksa another time, thank you.

I heard many good words about Singapore food and felt very interested to try it. This is a small restaurant featuring signature Singapore dishes, like laksa - a very flavorful noodle soup with balanced creamy and spicy tastes. It’s so unique and very different from other southeastern Asian food. I felt I want to visit Singapore one day after eating in here. The dining area is small but clean (no ice water provided though). But given the food quality and sweet price point, I wouldn’t expect more.

I went to order the laksa, but for some reason they didnt want to separate the soup from the noodles for dine in. They do offer the soup separate from the noodle for take out. I cant handle that much heat so I usually just dip the noodles. I just left.

Excellent and tasty singaporean and indonesian food. Their singaporean char kway teow (#11) and laksa (10) are really good. Price is very resonable and location is convenient across from Pasadena city college

We dropped by for lunch. Is right across the street from Pasadena City College. 1 hour Street parking only. They cater to the students and workers around the area. We couldnt stay long because Pasadena parking enforcement is very active here so 1 hour means you cant really be having much of a conversation with any gatherings. We tried the laksa and char away teow. Both were flavorful and is close enough to what you get in Singapore. No fried pieces of pork fat here. Laksa taste from the $4 packs from the Asian supermarket is stronger than whats served here for $9.95. char away teow is not using the dark sweet thick soy sauce used in Singapore. No cockles (blood clams, ham). Kopi at $2.95 is not thick nor strong enough like what you get in Singapore. Kopi-C tasted a little too much like instant. Evaporated milk taste was present. Still a good place to get something similar to what you get in Singapore. Much better than the fake panasia place.

The laksa is as good as the one I ate at Singapore, and I prefer it than the Kway TeowAlso, they stop selling fried food about 30 mins before they close, which is very early

The food is so delicious here. I had the #8 Indonesian Fried Noodle (Mee goreng) and fried tofu. The place is small but there was plenty of seating. If you walk by the place, you will miss it unless you are looking for it. The owners are from Indonesia and Singapore and so the cuisine consists of dishes from the region. They are very friendly. I highly recommend this place!
