I’m vegan. The Brussel sprout salad was fantastic, the vegan gyoza was delicious! The vegan bun I could pass on next time, but the vegan garnet ramen was very satisfying. Will definitely be back

I would rate it 3.5 stars. Ordered the Amber ramen and spicy tuna bowl on the side. Was a little disappointed with the ramen noodles, slightly hard than I’m used to and the soup was ok but nothing special. Spicy tuna was also just ok. We chose it because it has a patio seating that we can sit with our dog.

Everything we ordered was tasty! Started with spicy Quartz and spicy Garnett ramen, and later added takoyaki. Service was good, friendly host. Can’t wait to go back and try other flavors.Also they have kid’s ramens and smaller sized rice bowls, which I thought was nice. Not too many Asian restaurants offer children’s menu.

We ordered Amber and Spicy Garnet ramen. First, the portion is quite small, I could’ve probably finished in three mouthful.The broth on both were nothing remarkable, it tasted simple and clean, somewhat blend, but lacked depth in taste profile expected from the Japanese Ramen broth. Other Japanese ramen places take much pride in crafting their broth, they usually ask if we want to take the (if any) remaining broth home.But the critical issue with Rakkan is the the way ramen noodle is cooked, an equally central component to the dish, the ramen noodle itself was very much undercooked, it was doughy and missing the bounce and the tension. I can assume the chef didn’t have much experience as the kitchen staff appeared to be very young, if not part time students for the summer. I let the staff know about the undercooked noodle and they thanked us for the feedback but no adjustments were offered. As I took another bite, I was wishing for an instant ramen, able to make consistently great taste and texture without culinary training as long as instructions are followed.Lastly, base toppings were very very basic, tiny bit of onion, bamboo shoot, garlic slices maybe? And two slices of Chashu on the lean side but very thinly sliced.Overall, I don’t think this is an authentic Japanese ramen place and will not be returning personally.

I ordered truffle vegan Raman and vegan gyoza. The gyoza tasted pretty good, but the ramen smells like ammonia. I think this is due to the water that boils the noodle not being changed often enough and concentrates too much alkali. Besides that, the tofu and grilled broccolini was pretty good but the grilled mushrooms topping was cold and greassy. Overall the ramen quality was so so.

The spicy miso soup was 10/10 sooo good! My husband tore up that whole bowl lol. I ordered the avocado tofu bowl, it was refreshing and yummy. The service was also spot on. Our waitress was super professional and kind. I definitely recommend Rakkan Ramen

Stopped by this place after the moves and realized that this ramen place is good for vegetarian. I plan to introduce my friends to be here to try. I like the name of the restaurant meaning optimistic or optimism.

First time at this place with a BOGO coupon. We ordered the Amber and Spicy Garnet with Grill pork bowl. The broth tastes good and noodle is a dante. If you prefer your noodle not soft but with texture, you will like the noodle. The grill pork bowl is fine. However we waited for a while for our noodles to arrive though. We arrived at 7pm and our noodles did not arrive for 30 minutes. Maybe there are plenty of to-go order so our order got push pack and soup is not hot but warm as well. Will probably come back if there is another BOGO deal, but I feel there are better ramen places. However if you like plant based soup and ramen, you can give this place a try.

Finally got the chance to try this place known for vegetable based broth ramen. Food was ok, it got really busy when we went there so there can be wait times during dinner hours. Food came out fast. The ramen was tasty even though it wasn’t your typical ramen broth style. Prices were ok and service was decent.

Nice new place with potential but competition is fierce. My Amber Ramen bowl was very nice, clear flavorful broth but my better halfs Garnet could use a bit more spice. Still, there was a nice BOGO deal that we were able to use and well come back to redeem the other one soon. Please keep an eye out for their appetizers! We will too..

Delish!!! I love ramen but this is different from the others. It’s plant-based so we didn’t have that bloated gassy feeling afterwards.Darin our server was great very attentive and explained to us which appetizers and ramen to pick.The staff is new but it seems like they’ve been in operation for years. We will definitely be back!

I got the combo with Pearl and the fried chicken. My significant other got the combo with Quartz and the fried Gyoza.The flavor of the broth is rich and flavorful. The noodles had a great al dente texture. The chicken was crunchy but light and airy inside.The Quartz ramen had great umami flavor with a hint of mushroom. The Gyoza was piping hot and juicy in the middle. I prefer pan fried Gyoza, but it was a good dish.I recommend the chili oil/paste. A little goes a long way.

After spending lunch here, I had been served an amazing bowl of Ramen and my girlfriend, who ordered the Quarts Ramen, was very pleased. I am glad to have stopped by, the Ramen was so tasty and I absolutely loved the plant based broth. I will definitely be stopping by more often.

Woah. Hidden gem. This place could stand for some decent drink options. Everything is served via can. The food is topnotch. I was blown away by the selection I did not know what to choose. Everything has that in house made special flavor and so does the price. This is a great place to grab a bite for lunch.

I had a great experience with visiting Rakkan Ramen. The customer service was great and the food was amazing. I ordered the creamy ramen and the ramen tasted amazing. One of the best ramen restaurants o have ever been to. I highly recommend going to this restaurant. The staff are kind, polite, and quick with serving their food. The owners are extremely courteous and always provide the best service possible. Thank you.

My new favorite ramen place! Omg is the broth DELICIOUS! I have been two times so far and both times I wolfed down my ramen (I got spicy garnet). Staff is friendly and the owner is very kind and generous! Highly recommend!!!

I would rate this place as below:- ambiance and location 5- service 5-food overall 2*appetizer 4*ramen broth 2*ramen noodle 2*ramen meat 3- price / value to food 2Overall the ramen was not as good as I expected for the place vibes similar to a Costco / premade tonkutso ramens which you add boiling water. Compare to competitors in Irvine and Costa Mesa for the same price or less you get better value.Good location and staff are super friendly 😊👍

My family’s first time at Rakkan Ramen. The food was hot and delicious. The presentation of each dish was beautiful. Perfect for this cool cloudy day. We had the pork buns which were savory. We also had an order of the tuna bites, which are a variation of the tuna roll, was also very good. I had the spicy Garnet bowl. It was perfect. The level of spice was just right and the pork was nice a juicy. This was my first time trying plant based ramen at a restaurant and it was very tasty with good texture. Plant based ramen is healthier than other ramen. Our server named Jessica was also very attentive and helpful. Me being ocd, I noticed that the restaurant was also very clean, neat and on point. The floors and tables were very clean and welcoming. Parking was actually nice. The atmosphere outside the restaurant was very nice, with outdoor seating, good for families and children. I plan on going here again sometime soon.

The noodle itself is like chewing uncooked dough. Not saying it’s undercooked just saying the texture is not what I am used to when it comes to ramen. It’s too soft and mushy which I am not a fan of. The soup base has a layer of clear oil on top, like I am literally drinking the oil. Lastly the portion is less than regular ramen portion.

The restaurant was clean and bright with enough rooms for every customer to dine in. Service was attentive and quick. Takoyaki is a steal compared to other places that sell it. Please open another branch in Gaithersburg, Maryland. This is a true ramen spot that deserves to be recognized.

We always wanted to try this ramen spot and finally had a chance to go here the other day. the place was busy so we had to wait a bit (but not too long) for a table for 5. We have eaten at several ramen spots around the area and we were really impressed with their food and their broth! The spicy ramen was really good. The spicy tuna had some garlic chips on it that made it delicious. I even thought the California roll was better than most places. With something as simple as California roll, you can tell what they put good quality ingredients in their food. We were all really surprised on how good the food was. The servers were all busy, but there were all really nice and helpful. We would come back here again for sure.

Tried this place last night! I love and was craving Ramen and my girlfriend wanted vegan options. We tried a few appetizers (pork bun was amazing) and a couple bowls (garnet was my favorite). I had a fantastic dinner here at Rakkan Ramen. The spicy garnet ramen was the best ramen dish I’ve ever had. The Brussels sprout appetizer was rich and flavorful.The service was incredibly fast and I had excellent service from everyone. Finally the owner is engaging and professional with his business. Absolutely amazing. As someone who is a prominent meat eater and pork ramen type of guy I loved it here! My fiancée is vegetarian so this place is perfect for us. The vegan gyoza was sublime and tasted like meat it was that good. I had the seasonal Creamy Spicy Ramen and it was the perfect amount of food and not too heavy. Normally I feel way too full after ramen, but over here with their vegan broth you feel like you can go for a run afterwards. 10/10 would recommend! Definitely will be going back again! (For a third time! :D)

My tuna bowl is very disappointing. Well, maybe I should just the rice is disappointing 😞. Its so sticky and beyond soft, almost porridge like consistency. I dont see any passion for the food served. Broth on the ramen is just so so. Shiumai tasted like a local supermarket at their frozen aisle. Service is good. The server was attentive and always made sure were taken care of.

The ramen here is all served in a vegetable base broth -- a few of the ramen dishes can be made vegan as well which I think is pretty unique. Most ramen restaurants serve only pork base broth for the deep umami flavor. The broth here didnt feel lacking in comparison. Great place for vegetarians and vegans to be able to enjoy ramen.

We were looking forward to trying the plant based broth. We had the spicy garnet ramen. It was flavorful and delicious. I really liked the lighter plant base without the oil I usually taste on top of tonkatsu ramen. Still had all the traditional toppings, but great to have vegetarian & vegan options too. At first, wasnt sure about plant-based broth for ramen as I am used to tonkotsu. However, I was pleasantly surprised. Had the Pearl (salt) ramen which I thought would be salty but it wasnt. My son had the Amber broth which was flavorful. Both broths were light and not heavy. Our server was Andy - he was very nice and polite. We came during their soft opening so service was a bit slow but to be expected as they are still getting the hang of staffing and traffic. Overall, we had a pleasant experience.

There is nothing special about the food. The service is great. My server was attentive and took great care of me.
