It was a good experience. I loved the ramen and would love to go again. And the portion was really good, little more for dinner.Food came out very fast.If I want to recommend one thing, it would be to have more vegetarian options.Didnt realize that only the kiosk supports card payment. May be i was not paying attention.

They have Gluten free ramen options!!!! I’m in heaven. I’ve been gluten free for a few years and have missed ramen so much. I can finally have it again! It was delicious! Of course it’s not exactly the same as ramen noodles but good enough. 10/10 and the service was wonderful. Dining area was cozy.

Great experience and I would recommend stopping by this place to try out their ramen. We had the tonkatsu and the raku dishes and they were very delicious. The quality of the food was on point and the dishes come with plenty of meat. My wife enjoyed her dish and I enjoyed mine. The place is clean and the service is quick. It took less then seven minutes to get our food after we placed our order. The register is cash only but if you use the automatic kiosks you can use your credit card to pay for your order.The staff member who helped us out with recommendations of their food menu was friendly and courteous!

Amending my past review because nearly every one of my criticisms has been addressed and remedied. What a difference 1 short year makes! The Chashu-don is a must try. I will be back to try other menu items very soon. Provided below is the previous review:Extremely mediocre ramen. I ordered Tonkotsu ramen and almost every component was lacking. Noodles werent springy, ramen egg was overcooked, chashu was the consistency of ham, and the broth was bland (no wonder they charge extra for spicy). Service was friendly and very quick, however Ill still be searching for decent ramen on the central coast

The food here is decent and reasonably priced. The service however has a great deal of room for improvement. If you dont have cash you will be forced to order through a kiosk screen. My spicy tuna salad was beautifully presented but wasnt spicy at all. After the guy behind the counter ignored my request for spicy chili paste, I decided not to ask him for soy sauce. They might benefit from putting condiments out where customers can get at them.

Ive been going to Raku even before moving to their new location. Iv had virtually everything on the menu and not a single thing has been subpar. Fantastic for family, friends and get togethers. Proportions are great for prices.

Worth your time and money. The location is cozy and the flavors are great. Not quite top-notch when it comes to the noodle texture and spices but still worth a try. The seaweed salad was good and they have a few beers to try. Aside from that the classic spicy tonkatsu ramen is what you see pictured.

I would say this is the best ramen in SLO County! The food was amazing and the staff super helpful. Its easy to order on their screens. And they bring the food to your table. We had the tonkotsu ramen, shoyu ramen, and chicken teriyaki. It was all super delicious.

I had the Miso Ramen reccomended to me for my first time so I would reccomend it myself. Its different from what Im use to eating but i did enjoy it. Its always good to try new things so you can start with that. Its also very affordable.

Why? Why are you so delicious? Is it the freshly made noodles? The bright veggies? The rich broths??? The insanely delicious yuzu lemonade??? I dont know. Great food! Best ramen Ive ever had. Recommend the Raku ramen. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location is clean with lots of parking. I was there to eat, not for Atmosphere. But while I was there the place was swarming with college students. So I did suffer from idiotic conversations and some food preferences while ordering that made me sad and almost ruined my food. Vegans, why? So maybe just dont sit right next to where people order. Id recommend this place to people who love good food..... and yes your friend that hates food in their food can probably find something to satisfy their chosen malnurishment as well. (P.S. epic dessert across the street if you like handmade ice cream cookie sandwiches!)

The food here is plated for Instagram likes, but does not have much flavor. I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen and an appetizer of Chicken Karaage, they were edible but also quite sub-par.The ramen broth had little to no flavor, wasn’t really salty unless you are quite sensitive or have been fasting maybe. One point I’ll give them is that some of the chashu pork I received was cooked a little crispy which was nice. Unfortunately, the rest of the pieces lacked flavor and tenderness, like they had just been sliced from the refrigerator and thrown in the bowl. They didn’t have time to soften up and absorb some of the broth like chashu pork is traditionally served. The noodles tasted like they were just a step above the cup of noodles you buy at the store, if they did use instant noodles, they should’ve thrown the flavor packet in the broth at least. The scallions and seaweed didn’t provide any flavor either, they didn’t let it sit in the broth and let them stew to absorb each others’ flavors.The Chicken Karaage appetizer admittedly was better, but not by much. The texture of how they fried the chicken pieces was quite good. However, the chicken wasn’t really seasoned well, and the sauce they provided was basically mayonnaise with the mildest amount of chipotle to make it look pink. In addition to that, they hardly provided enough sauce, not that it was worth asking for more.I hate to gut a restaurant like this, but charging $25-30 per person for this is a crime, especially since it’s a popular spot for the local college students. Ramen is not an easy at-home meal to make if you want to make it right and have it taste good, which is why many of us eat out to enjoy this cuisine. I hoped I just came in on a bad day, but seeing other reviews tells me that’s not the case.

Raku ramen and salmon rice bowls is what we ordered. We love coming g here. The food portions are hig though, so you can easily share. This visit we didnt share and we ended up throwing half of it away because we just didnt want to carry around the left overs. Next time we will be smarter and just take the left overs for later.This place is a must try.

Probably the number 1 location in SLO if you are sick and its a rainy day. The Curry Beef Udon is a top tier rainy day with a bad cold dish. Forget the Sudafed fam.Only issue is on a cold rainy day you might not have a space to sit because normally they rely on outdoor seating to keep things less crowded.

That said, for an order of $12 Ramen, $3 for an extra egg, $3 for extra noodles, total bill around $20, this is not worth going to. Better food for less within easy walking distance.

Great customer service, however the food wasnt my absolute favorite. I felt like the chicken and broth all lacked flavor and their creamy broth wasnt very creamy at all. I ordered the Tonkotsu, and I will say that the chilli oil on top was a nice touch. The glass noodles and the ramon noodles were great. They have endless options for add ons. For my bowl of ramen I spent $20 in all, and I probably wont go back but if you like ramen youve got to try this place at least once

Is this the best ramen is SLO? Yes. Yes it is. Is that saying very much? Not too much… their broth was pretty good! The chashu pork tasted good but kind of fell apart… the egg was excellent. Noodles were a bit overdone and started breaking easily. Portions are on the small side.Yuzu lemonade is definitely Minute Maid lemonade + a little bit of Yuzu flavoring… not worth $2.50. I would come again for the broth and the eggs. Go to Asian market across the street, boil some water and make your own noodles (it’s just like spaghetti) and pour the broth over it. C’mon SLO, let’s step up our Asian cuisine!!

This is my and my husbands favorite date night in dinner.... If you ordering to go I suggest calling ahead, the lines are usually a bit long but at least you wont have to wait for your food. We get the raku Ramen... But Ive tried various other things. Portions are pretty large and food is fantastic! Highly recommend it

This place is quite good but their service is where it lacks. The staff I have found to be rude every time I go there. Which is disappointing considering it is the only decent ramen place in town. It may be that being busy stresses some staff members out but overall its not the nicest environment. Mostly from the cashiers, when the chefs have taken my order when they are very understaffed they are always nice and accommodating.Update to more stars, the staff is still pretty rude bit it has been to other customers and less to me latley!

The ramen shop that used to be here, Menka Ramen, was miles better than this. Still Rakus ramen is good. However, I would love it if they handed the ramen to you in a cardboard box or something more sturdy than a plastic bag. The plastic lids on the ramen cups are a total joke. Ordered for pick up then had to pull over to take them out of the bag. All lids were popping off and some broth spilled in the bag.

Staffs fine, no issues with service. The tonkatsu ramen looks deceptively great, but the taste and quality are a huge disappointment. Ive had instant I like better. The broth is so thin Im suspicious its watered down. The noodles were also overcooked.I imagine the food item your restaurants named after is your best dish, so I dont think Ill risk returning to see if their non-ramen items are any good.

Like other reviews, I agree that the ramen itself is good, but the employees are very unfriendly. Unfriendly is even putting it lightly. When we walked up to the counter to pick up our pre-paid order the woman looked up with a grumpy face and said, “what?” On top of the rude welcoming, when we got home we realized our ramen orders were missing two eggs and mushrooms we paid extra for. Again, great ramen even without the missing ingredients, but management should re-evaluate their team and customer service standards.

The broth is the only saving grace for this place. Most ingredients arent prepped (unless you call something being chopped prepped) and are haphazardly thrown into a bowl. The meat is usually poor quality and the eggs, which should be soft boiled and runny, are Grey and hard boiled. The tempura isnt much better, a little greasy and heavy every time Ive gotten it. They are the only Ramen place in town and by the way the food comes out they know it, like the DMV knows you cant go anywhere else for their services. The staff is nice and they do have a cool assortment of Japanese sodas.

Ramen was good, but not amazing. For being one of the only ramen spots in the area, it hits the spot, but in my humble opinion its not nearly as good as the ramen places I am used to in the Bay Area. Also, its inside space is a bit cramped, so I wouldnt call it comfy, but its great if you want to sit outside.

They have one vegan ramen option with your choice of noodles (soba, udon, spinach, or rice), comes with a few veggies (mushrooms, broccoli, asparagus, carrots, onions), in a creamy broth that I think is mushroom-based, but when I asked them if the bowl can be made soy-free for a friend with an allergy, they said something along the lines of the broth being packaged premade with soy sauce already in it, so I dont know how homemade this ramen is compared to places that make their own veggie broth, but it was good nonetheless. They also have a crispy tofu rice bowl with veggies, but its fried on shared equipment, unfortunately.

I had read Paul Ms review, and prepared myself for the worst.When I ordered, I made sure to only tip the 10% since id be bussing myself. I got the Raku ramen with no scallions. I sat down and waited for my buzzer to go off. I never heard it buzz, but my food was brought to me, along with chopstick and napkins. Oh. Unexpected.The food was good. The pork nice and crispy, the ramen soft, and the egg was soft boiled. The whites were an off color, but Im pretty sure thats just because it sits in broth...even the bamboo shoots where good and I dont normally like them.Afterwards, someone came and got my food and took it for me. I was surprised. From what Id read, I thought all interaction was cut off after I swiped my credit card.The atmosphere was nice. Good, if cramped, seating with a nice outdoor patio. So everything is great here except all the flies. The kal gook soo is very good and I like the dumplings. They arent the worlds best but it is very good. Now the flies drive me nuts. I dont think I ever remember coming here without getting bothered by the flies. Now if they are here 24/7 then they must be breeding here or somewhere. Things that make you go hmm.

Top Ramen is a disgrace to the name, so dont let that cloud your judgement!I ordered the Raku Ramen, and my friend ordered the Shoyu Ramen, with the idea that we could share in order to try multiple items.The Raku Ramen noodles had the consistency of the Chinese egg noodles, the tonkatsu was perfect, and the corn threw me off a little. I think the biggest let down was the broth. It didnt have much in the way of flavor to me. Add in some chili sauce, and kick it up a little!The Shoyu Ramen is what I should have gotten. The noodles seemed closer to what youd get from a Sapporo Ichiban package, but slightly more firm, which was nice. The broth flavor was awesome though.All in all, it was an enjoyable experience, looking forward to trying out the rest of the menu. It is pricey though!

This was the first and only ramen place Ive been to so I dont have a lot to compare it to, but I thought it was really good and a nice change of pace from the mostly Mexican, sandwich, or BBQ places we have in town. They have a dish called chashu dont that is pork belly with something similar to eel sauce served over rice. It is AMAZING. I would really recommend getting a small side order to go with your ramen.

I was pretty concerned because ramen should have enough broth to fit noodles and so I went to ask for extra broth and they tried to tell me it was $2.00 extra again and Im like its just broth, it makes sense that more should be added when more noodles get added, especially because there was barely any to begin with and after awhile they gave my friend free broth because he didnt order anything extra so it was okay and he didnt need more and didnt ask for it and if youre gonna give it free, give it to the person who needs it and already paid extra, not to someone who didnt even ask or just dont give any at all, very just okay ramen as well, go to Nikka Ramen in Goleta and youll realize how ramen should be...
