The famous Ramen Nagi. Took my time to try this place, you need at least half hour for the wait line outside but once you get in, it does not disappoint.Tried the spicy version (do not remember the specific name) and it was awesome! So tasty, spicy, creamy, meat was so tender, in addition we ordered chicken and some dumplings and they were great. Thing is, once you sit down, everything flows so quickly. Only downside if you consider it a bad thing is: No alcohol, only tea and water but other than that great experience, recommended 💯

This ramen was very needed after the packed day I had before seeing both Hadestown in SF and Ed Sheeran at Levi’s Stadium. This Ramen Nagi location has street parking of up to 2 hours. My family was first in line at 10:25am and the line started around 10:35am. It was significantly longer at opening. We ordered two garlic edamame ($4.50) appetizers to start and for some reason one came seasoned with salt and pepper, the other was not. They did not taste like garlic. If you’re just craving plain edamame, go for it, but otherwise I would pass and probably try their other options. The seasoned and slightly pickled bean sprouts on the table was more of a fulfilling and tasty option instead and it comes included with dining so no extra charge. I believe it’s meant for the ramen but it was delicious on its own. We even asked for a refill. It was my first time so I asked around for recommendations from my friends but I settled on the Black King ($15.95) with thick noodles and quite a few custom options. I was not disappointed at all. I preferred the thick noodles to the thin (I tried my mom’s thin noodles) but I do think the thin fits the other broth options more. The chashu was decent but nothing to write home about. Be sure to add the bean sprouts and mess around with the other seasonings on the table halfway through to change up the eating experience. The egg must always be added and they were perfectly cooked and glistening. It wasn’t as seasoned throughout as the egg I had at Ramen Boys (Las Vegas) but it was still a necessity. The Red King ($15.95) leftovers were delicious the following day. If I didn’t get the Black King, I would have opted for the Original King ($14.95) which didn’t have that fishy pork taste some ramens can have when not seasoned with spice or black garlic, etc.The service was attentive since everything is like a well-oiled machine there (for efficiency’s sake) but that’s why the atmosphere is a little cold but thankfully there’s a bowl of ramen to comfort you. They didn’t rush us at all too. You pay up front when you’re finished.Overall, a tasty meal but if we weren’t already first in line because we were in the area and such before opening, I wouldn’t have waited more than 30min to eat it. Though, it was great to curb my curiosity and see what the hype was about.

Visited Ramen Nagi for lunch at Palo Alto today. I ordered a Veggie King with spicy Nagi sauce and thin noodles. It was delicious. It came with a crispy cabbage pancake which was extremely tasty. The broth was flavorful. Just what I needed for my sore throat. My colleague had the Spicy King Nagi with Pork. I did not taste it as I am a vegetarian but it looked delicious as well. I am definitely gonna visit this place again and try all other varities.

A very cool little ramen shop with a different twist on hakata tonkatsu ramen. While delicious the red sauce is off, the noodles aren’t firm even when ordered extra firm, and the karage came out sized two or thrree times larger than expected. That said the egg was fantastic as was the broth. It’s a damn good bowl of ramen and II would recommend it, but if you are looking for true tonkatsu you might want to look elsewhere.

Came at 1:30pm on Saturday and started dining at 2:15pm. A 45 minute wait wasn’t that bad and it feels like the line moves quicker than you think. Everyone gets an umbrella, if you’d like one, and there’s plenty of boba shops near by if you’re thirsty, so definitely grab one before you wait! When you get near the front of the lien is when you will be greeted by staff who will give you a paper with all the options. They will also answer all your questions if you have any.If it’s your first time, I would suggest going with the chef’s recommendations. My partner had customized his which he enjoyed. Overall would come back! And make sure to get the karaage if they are offering it as an appetizer! Also there is plenty of free street and garage parking nearby.

Very good ramen, the broth was rich in flavor and the meat was tender. Definitely go early else you will need to queue. So glad to stumble into this place.

Had to stand in queue for almost 1.5 hrs, but it was worth the wait. Very friendly staff, and great atmosphere. Ramen was equally good. What stood out was there Moyashi Bean Sprouts and Hash Browns. Would surely recommend to enjoy those bean sprouts. It’s complementary and is present on every table along with other seasonings. Can be enjoyed as a side. Ramen was great. Broth is rich and creamy and is non vegan. But tastes great. If you like spicy, I would recommend ordering number 6 for spice level. I ordered 4 but ended up ordering more chili. Hash Browns might seem out of place but taste amazing when dipped in the broth. It only comes with the veggie ramen. Surely a must visit place when around and if you like Ramen.

The original soup base taste great! I don’t really like the black soup base. Worth to try and be aware of long wait, usually need wait 30-45mins to be seated.

People go crazy for this place and waiting in line for an hour is part of this experience. They offer a Konkatsu Ramen that has 4 other combinations, like spicy, with octopus ink, pesto or vegetarian. The Ramen is very good but you have to judge for yourself if its worth standing in line for it for an hour...

Ive been to Ramen Nagi many times in the past. It is on my list of top 5 ramen places in the Bay area. There is always a big waiting line every time I visit Ramen Nagi. Their process is very efficient, and their service is really fast, so most of your dining time will be spent on you enjoying your ramen. Its basically build your own ramen where you get to pick everything that goes into your ramen - garlic, oil, meat, veggies, egg, seaweed, broth, noodle style (thick/thin), spice level. For the broth, you have a bunch of different options- veggie, green basil, original, spicy king, and squid ink. While you wait in line, a server will bring you a piece of paper that you use to mark your preferences for each ingredient that you want in your ramen. For each ingredient, they provide you a bunch of different options and also highlight Chefs recommended option so its easy for you to make a decision in case you are feeling overwhelmed. The spice level goes from 1-10. Egg and seaweed are usually not included by default, so youll have to add the separately and pay extra. They usually also have 2 appetizers that are not listed on the piece of paper they give you. Usually, these 2 appetizers are gyoza and chicken karaage. We always get chicken karaage because its really good. Chicken is always tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. The sauce that comes with it is also really good. It has some sweetness to it so it goes well with the karaage. Their chicken karaage pieces are quite big. I wish they were cut into smaller pieces. They usually run out of their chicken karaage appetizer, so order it if you get a chance.I like creamy ramen, so I always pick their basil broth ramen, which is very unique. You cant find this anywhere else. Their ramen is very filling, and all their broths are really good. Overall, their ramen is very filling, so if you arent that hungry, you make skip the appetizer. I definitely recommend giving Ramen Nagi a try.
