I stayed for one week - needed a place to just getaway and relax. The hotel is very clean (all staff wearing mask). The front desk, dining, and housekeeping staff all were very helpful and friendly. Enjoyed breakfast - I loved that the hotel provides guess the option to dine in or take breakfast back to room by providing paper bags, cups, and to go boxes. I requested towels, etc. and before I knew it staff was already knocking at the door with the towels - I couldnt believe it (so quick). Overall great stay - I will stay here again.
The front desk staff had the nerve to tell me that for my 3 night stay, they had to authorize an insanely high amount for my stay (never had this at any other marriot) plus $500 for security deposit on top of that. She told me that they had to make sure I could afford to stay. They then reminded me of the per night cost! Like I was completely in the dark about how much it cost when I booked it, put a CC on file and gave them my Marriot Bonvoy card for the payment. Unfortunately for me I had to use my own marriot bonvoy number vs the one we normally use that is in my wifes name which is platinum elite lifetime. This was definitely a weird one as I have stayed at this hotel a great number of times through the years (pre-covid of course).Sadly the 1st room wreaked of cigarettes and we had to be transferred to another room which turned out fine.
Location is great! About 20 minutes to Long Beach, 30 minutes to LA. This is with traffic between 9 and 10 am. Great places to eat close by. Hotel itself needs a remodel. My family and I stayed in a 2 bedroom suite, fourth floor. The faucets in the bathroom and kitchen were gross. The pillow cases and sheets had stains on them. The ladies in the kitchen (breakfast staff) and cleaning staff were friendly. Sarah at the front desk was so welcoming. FYI: If you have kids request the first floor. Because the walls and floors are thin, people will complain about your kids walking, running, jumping etc. Especially if you have kids under the age of 5. Also if youre in a room facing Katella Ave, you will hear traffic noise, as I said the walls are thin. Safety was great! No issues there.
We are so thankful that we were able to make this hotel our home away from home. The reason for our stay was because our house had a fire, we had 2 cats and we needed to be logistically placed close to our house, our jobs and our ailing parent. 2021 was a year of valleys. But through it all, we managed to get through it. We could have moved into permanent accommodations because of the length of the construction. But we decided that the Residence Inn was better for us. We’d like to thank the staff for always being kind and attentive to our needs. We definitely recommend this hotel.

Excellent suite hotel. Two-bedroom suite, enough room for a family of 4 to spend time together and stretch out with some privacy still. The kitchen was well equipped for most tasks. They have happy hours Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Did not try this but saw a small gathering of people having fun by the pool all three days. Overall, I like the 2 bedrooms set up better than two separate rooms. More economical than renting two separate BR and we can spend more time together.
I love that they have a pool and jacuzzi. Unfortunately with COVID, we could only reserve that during certain time blocks. The breakfast was really good. The cleaning staff was amazing. They were able to come in and vacuum our living area while we had our two cats away in the bedroom.A few things that I think would improve the facility are: adding another bbq or more outdoor benches with umbrellas, painting the wood lattice thats near the pool area (or even changing it to something other than wood - it looks damaged), and a big one - updating the grass area for the pets. That area really needs a makeover. Also, I think it would be cool to have a managers welcome and have chips and salsa or popcorn or something simple out in the evenings. Some hotels do this and its a huge hit.Overall, we loved our stay. We love the Residence Inn. This wasnt our first time there and it wont be our last. Keep up the good work.
Stayed in a 2 bedroom suite with a “at home” feel, traveled with a pet very pet friendly. The complimentary breakfast was a full and satisfying meal and saved us money on meals. Very friendly staff. Clean rooms and attentive maintenance staff. I highly recommend and would stay again. I stayed for 7 nights having traveled from the east coast for a family wedding.
We arrived to our room and it was dirty (trash cans overflowing under the sink, bed appeared messy). We were transferred to another room that was also dirty (hair in ALL drawers, hair in shower, fridge sticky, previous guests take out bags in kitchen drawer, extremely dusty around living room TV area, carpet appeared not to have been vacuumed). We were compensated for our troubles via points (35,000 or 1 nights stay) & were offered to move to another room or have housekeeping come clean. We declined both (why would we want to move to a THIRD dirty room or have housekeeping come when they CLEARLY dont know the cleaning standards?) We opted to clean the room ourselves. We were offered compensation for our cleaning supplies, which I was super happy about, but then were denied compensation since we had previously purchased the supplies before we got to the hotel. (We brought 2 packs of Lysol wipes & a can of Lysol spray with us to wipe down hot spots not anticipating we would literally need to wipe down and spray the ENTIRE ROOM.) After using our entire supply we needed to purchase more and were told that those items would not qualify for compensation either. That info was also disappointing. I would not stay here again based on this experience.Positives: Breakfast is REALLY good. Pool was well maintained and a nice depth. Convenient location to local attractions. Staff that we interacted with was really nice.
We’ve stayed here numerous times while visiting the area over the past decade. Each time, the service from staff at the property has been awesome. They’ve always been very accommodating with our room requests. And while it may seem a little thing, the staff that assist with breakfast are always very friendly and helpful. A little smile means a lot at 6:30 AM when you’re trying to get breakfasts for lots of young children who are still half asleep because you’re trying to rush and get everyone to Disneyland! And offering to even help us with their breakfasts means a lot. Little things like that makes a big difference and it’s why we keep coming back.
A very comfortable and pleasant stay after receiving only a four day notice to vacate apt for fumigation. The suite gave us enough room for privacy, two tv’s, kitchenette with full size refrigerator, all very useful. I work from home so the high speed internet and a work desk space was great. The free breakfast was much better than expected (although Marriott never lets me down). Room was very very clean, I requested a quiet room to work from daily with easy access to unload and load car and was accommodated. The hotel has been upgraded, contemporary, very clean with friendly and helpful staff from the front desk to maids and maintenance. They have evening mixers and a lovely outdoor area. Great place to stay when you have to be away from home for extended period.
We stayed for 5 nights on our first stay ever. My fit watch registered my sleep quality as high as 87. I dont sleep this well at home. Breakfast variety and staff friendly. Pool needed cleaning on first day, but it was cleaned the second day. Front desk staff helpful and friendly. Room clean and when cleaning staff did the room it looked like the first day. I definately plan to use this hotel whenever I stay in the area.
Really not much to complain about. The place isnt perfect & I could easily nitpick every minor flaw, but overall it was clean, quiet, & comfortable. Everything was modern enough for us & the only 2 things that bothered us were: 1, the wifi which was being upgraded during our stay. & 2, there was a small stain on the sheer curtain that was hard to ignore once noticed. Otherwise, our stay was awesome & will definitely be staying there again.
Great hotel for short or long term stays
Comfort, I mean as in beds. The property must invest in new more comfortable beds and pillows if they want to keep long term and returning guest to the property. The breakfast was good, a little something different each day. And the staff was very attentive. Parking at $7 is questionable, as other area hotels do not charge.
I had to change my plans twice during my stay and the staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. Rooms were super clean and everything was in great working order, so my compliments to the housekeeping and maintenance as well. Nice and quiet!
I asked about the deposit when I changed my reservation from a 2 bedroom suite to a one bedroom suite. I was told there would be no deposit. When I checked in they put a hold on my card for $406 more than the confirmation price I was quoted, on the phone and by email. When I said something to the front desk agent she tried to back it out, and put a $300 deposit on a different card. Only problem was that the hold was still on my account for 4 of the 5 days I was in town. This was all the money I had for incidentals on my trip. I called my bank, and spoke to the front desk multiple times and no one could do anything about it. You all held $706 hostage, and ruined my vacation. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. Also the room was not even that nice there were stains on the couch and the carpet, and dents in the fridge. Why charge a deposit if you dont even put the money back into making the rooms nicer?

My recent stay at the Hotel Residence Inn Cypress Marriott was excellent which is an understatement. The amenities, location, value/cost, cleanliness, comfort, decor, and overall services were excellent. Im not exaggerating. I dont dish out good vibes about many hotels, but I had to share the good vibes I had during and after my stay at the Residence Inn Cypress Marriott. You would be remiss if you do not stay here. I feel at home staying at this Marriott chain hotel. The staff is great and always accommodating, always looking into how to make your stay more enjoyable/comfortable. However only one small issue that can improve is wifi connectivity. I’m able to work and or enjoy streaming from my room. The service would drop multiple times causing interruptions. That aside I wouldn’t mind coming back to this location should my travels or business relations be in the area.
The ladies at the front desk were all so very helpful. Any needs for reservations, issues with my room, or any other concerns were handled quickly and professionally by them. Fresh coffee and tea were also available in the lobby along with a hot breakfast each morning. The maid service was constantly rotating around the premise, maintaining a clean and safe place here. The gym is closed but located within a 1 minute walk is 24 HR fitness. All your grocery stores and restaurants are conveniently within a few blocks as well.
This property is clean and in good working condition. This is an excellent location when visiting before a cruise. The front desk and plant operations staff here apparently are very passionate about doing a great job, keeping the place nice and making the guests feel welcome and appreciated. I stay at hotels 3 weekend out of every month. I actually came across The Residence Inn on accident. I had been turned away from several other hotels due to I lost my credit card. The Residence Inn was more than glad to rent me a room with a reasonable cash deposit that was returned the day of my departure with no problems at all. I had my 2 dogs with me and had no problem getting a room with them along with me. Everyone was super friendly. The place was super quiet. I barely saw anyone except at breakfast. I would give this place a 10 Plus if I could. I didnt expect them to actually rent me a room with nomcredit card on me. I assumed they would be like the other 2 really nice places I usually stay and turn me away for only having cash. To my surprise the staff was extremely kind and made me feel very welcome. I cant say enough about this hotel. Believe it or not I never leave these comments on places I stay at but The Residence Inn deserves it. A+ to all the staff I encountered. One more thing, the rooms are like being in a place of your own. It didnt have that hotel feeling. I had my curtains opened during the day as I would at home and the view of the property landscape was nothing like being at a hotel. I really mean this. My room had two TVs, one in bedroom one in livingroom and access to cable channels with no extra charge. It really is like a home away from home. I had any excellent stay...Thank you for your hospitality.
We loved our stay at this hotel. Not only was our room super clean and comfortable, but the public spaces such as elevator doors and hallways were well maintained. We enjoyed the breakfast as there were many healthy choices, and enough variety that we took advantage of it many times during our two week stay. The staff was so friendly and efficient that I told my daughter that only the Bellagio in Las Vegas compared with the service we received here. The laundry was clean, convenient, and reasonable. My husband enjoyed the sturdy recliner and great shower. All in all, this was a great experience for us and I would recommend this hotel to others.
My experience with this hotel was less-than-pleasant. My family stayed for three nights, and we encountered issues from the beginning. First, we had a two bedroom suite, and the rooms hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned. There was a spilled box of crayons in the smaller bedroom that wasn’t from us, and the bathrooms had hair all over the shower and floor. The beds were also springy and not very comfortable. Then, we had an issue with the laundry machine and the service provided to get the issue resolved. It took an hour for someone to come fix the machine for us to begin the load of laundry. Lastly, on the third night, there was a party/gathering in a room on the floor above us in the overnight hours, and despite many calls to the service desk, I was told the noise didn’t warrant a conversation with the guests. When I brought it up with the service desk upon checkout, the lady said there was absolutely nothing they could do because the notes indicated the problem was addressed - which it hadn’t been. The location is good - easy access to LAX, Long Beach Airport, and John Wayne. The breakfast was good. Check-in was easy. I doubt I will be staying in this hotel again when I return to the Long Beach area.
Love staying at Residence Inn. Has all the amenities I’m looking for- full kitchen, spacious room to work and relax in and the full breakfast has re-opened!! The bed was soft enough for me which is very rare- usually they are much firmer and I don’t get a good night’s sleep. But I did at this location. Staff at this location was great. Very friendly, professional and on top if things. I’ll certainly stay here again if in the area.
Stayed at this location back in October of this year. Its far from the convention I was in town for but worth it. Quiet location, nice and clean rooms, spacious, and very accommodating. I had a two bedroom suite and I was expecting the bedrooms to be more spacious but it actually turned out fine. I had about 5 other people in the room with me. Everyone had a space to sleep in. The staff was great. Had a little situation on the first day but everything worked out in the end. Complimentary breakfast every morning. Great food. Parking was perfect. I would most likely stay here again.
The hotel is amazingly clean. The housecleaning staff needs a raise. You can tell that the hotel is a little older, but the rooms were perfect for what I needed them for. It has a little stove and kitchen. Dishes and everything were cleaned to perfection. Some hotels dont understand how important housecleaning is especially during COVID. The room has an amazing smell to it and makes you feel right at home. The breakfast in the morning is just breakfast. Nothing to win an award for but it gets the job done. There is also this coffee machine that is wonderful. It gives you coffee on tap. It even has a strong button as well. If you drink coffee, you know how important that is... It has a TV in main room and bedroom. There is a pool at the hotel and a grill on the patio by the pool. The gym is kind of small but it gets the job done. Anything more than three people in there would be a crowd. All in all, this is a great hotel. The location is perfect as well. You can get to just about anything in 30 minutes or less depending on traffic.
From day one, I was impressed with this hotel. It had the feeling of an apartment but more fun! I loved the events, the sense of community, the layout and comfortabity of the hotel room. Everything was top notch perfect! The rooms were so spacious and the walls were thick enough so you wouldnt hear your neighbor above or next to you. It really had a home like feel. A full kitchen and stainless steel fridge and dishes, pots and pans, dish cleaner and sponge. I really pay attention to detail and this hotel had it all.
This hotel was everything and more! Room was amazingly clean and the beds were super comfortable. Didnt have any trouble with the AC or appliances. It was very quiet, didnt hear a lot of coming and going by other guests. Great amenities, pool, basketball court, volleyball, BBQ area. The fireplace in the room was very comforting. The staff was very helpful and SO nice! They acted like they actually wanted to be at work helping you. I want to plan another vacation in the area just so I can stay here again!
The hotel is showing its age a little bit but the experience of staying was exceptional. Great staff and very accommodating. Very clean too. I loved all the dogs that were staying too! Thank you for being pet friendly! I would stay there again. I always have a great experience at Marriott!
My only real complaint is that their incidentals hold was more than the room rate.
Overall good place to stay. location is great for us. We usually come to California for short trips to sporting events, to visit friends and sometimes a trip to Disneyland. Over the years your rewards have dwindled and cost as increased. As well as huge deposits for stays. What the heck?
Staff was rude and obnoxious, AND they charged me twice for the less-than-average room. Accused me of trying to pass a bad credit card after having taken $400 from me the first time they ran it. Manager rolled her eyes at me and laughed with her coworker when I was on my way out the door. Room was left uncleaned and there were dirty washcloths in the bathtub. They dont do housekeeping, so try not to use the garbage cans or towels. Ive done most of my traveling with Marriott over the past 18 years and have always had wonderful experiences at other locations. I will never, EVER make this mistake again.
The place has nice entrance area with the wonderful lobby and service from the check-in staff in fast service and clear information required for the first experience. all the way to hotel starts to creates good impression as it is so in order. The room is so clean, nice and comfortable after the tired day. The bed is good and firm. Everything is so ready for use and clean. After the long sleep, the breakfast is tasty with plenty of choices. All are in good quality. Only the coffee taste is too plain and flat. It could be improved but it is not a big point to drop the impression at all comparing to overall experience so far. Very nice place close to super market. Become first choice in next step for sure.
Over all the hotel is clean and the staff is very nice. Like with any stay at any hotel there are small things. The guest laundry is more expensive than I expected. They have began to charge for parking. Lack of staff for daily cleanings could be corrected. On the up side the breakfast is always good. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. It is close to a lot of restaurants and shopping. Overall it is a good place to stay.

My husband and I booked a hotel block at the Residence Inn Cypress Los Alamitos for ourselves and our wedding guests. Having never done anything like this before and not having a wedding planner I was in desperate need of some guidance. After reaching out I was quickly contacted by a member of the sales team for Marriott via email. Matthew Riccio was extremely helpful and provided us with a great deal and all the information we needed, well over a year and a half out of our wedding date, which put us at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. A contract was drawn up to secure our rooms and was signed within a couple days of my initial contact with Matthew.Fast forward to October 2021. Check in was easy and they did a great job of adding additional rooms to our block when some of our guests needed a little bit more room. Gina Cole and Lisa Lane were both present to check in my maid of honor and I the day prior to the wedding and assisted in accommodating early check in so that we could make it the ceremony rehearsal. The hotel was pretty busy, but we were still attended to timely. The hotel even provided our guests with welcome packages. It was all very thoughtful and so appreciated. The hotel provided a breakfast buffet in the morning consisting of scrambled eggs, waffles, sausage, oatmeal, yogurt, bananas, oranges, and cereal. There was also juice, tea, and coffee available. This worked out perfectly as my bridal party and I got ready at the hotel the morning of the wedding. We didnt have to travel anywhere if we didnt want to and it made the morning after the wedding simple. I only wished they have some hash browns in the breakfast buffet. My husband and I had the single suite which was large enough for what we needed and Gina was nice enough to give us a room with a fireplace and a view of the pool. My maid of honor had the 2 bedroom suite where my bridal party of 4 and I got ready plus my mom and sister. The rooms have full size fridges and freezers. The 2 bedroom suite had a full stove and oven and was equipped with plates, cups, mugs, and utensils. The rooms were clean and presentable. The staff at the hotel was pleasant and polite. Given the public health guidelines in the OC, masks were required in public spaces of the hotel, but only a handful of guests wore their masks in the public space. Despite, this I felt comfortable in the hotel and spent the majority of time in one of our rooms in a non-public space. I would highly recommend staying at the Residence Inn Cypress Los Alamitos.
I always enjoy my stays at any Residence Inn, and this one is no exception. The service at this hotel is World-Class. I enjoyed the amenities very much. The Pool and hot-tub areas are spacious and relaxing. The evening Residence Mix offered very good food and drink items - quality meat entrees and sides. Breakfast was a cut above - I never would have expected to see Brie cheese and Andouille Sausage on the menu. Hotel has had some recent updates, which are well done. I would definitely stay here again, if nothing else, for the great customer service !
Enjoyed our entire stay here. Our home away from home. We spent two weeks here while our home was being remodeled. Clean and very spacious rooms. We had a 2room suite and a king suite to accommodate our family of 8. Our kids enjoyed the pool and basketball court. Delicious complimentary breakfast, coffee bar and evening snacks. Friendly staff. Special thanks to Erolyn for greeting us every morning during breakfast with her beautiful smile and to Danny at the front desk for taking good care of us!! I highly recommend this hotel.
We have only been for a week and so far we have been very comfortable. The staff has been friendly. The area is busy but quiet. Lots of shopping opportunities just a few minutes away and really close to the interstate. So far so good. Would give 5 stars but the layout of the hotel is really inconvenient. Two elevators on the same end of the building is really inconvenient.
I am a long time Marriott Member and this was the worst service I have ever received. I arrived for my stay, which I booked with our points. I have been traveling to the Long Beach area for the past 5 years and have always stayed at a Marriott Residence Inn because I love the comfort. This time when I arrived, I was told that I could not use my points because it was under my husbands name. They made me feel like I did something wrong. I was tired and just wanted to check in. So I told them just charge me the rate and put it on my visa. It was supposed to be for 2 nights but apparently, the person checking me only had me checked in for 1 night. I found this out the hard way. After a long day, I came back to my room to rest and was unable to get in. I went to the front desk and they told me that I was only booked for 1 night. I told the person, I should have been there for 2 nights. Then on the second night, I couldnt get into my room again!!! I had to walk from my room to the front desk about 4 times because the keys would not work. Finally, I told the front desk person to please just let me in. I am checking out in the morning. I also asked the person if I could just leave like I normally do when I check out. They just email me a receipt. She told me to call the front desk.The next morning I called to check out and this person tells me I need to come to the front desk. When I get there she tells me that she needs to make a copy of my DL for their records. I dont understand this at all. They made me feel like I did something wrong. This was the only Residence Inn that Ive had this problem with and we have been staying at Marriotts for over a decade.I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL AT ALL! Stay somewhere else. I think its mostly the personnel at this hotel.HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!
This hotel is wonderful. Clean. Quiet. Rooms are great. Bed is very comfortable. Complimentary breakfast each morning was very good. The M-T-W evening mixers were appreciated very much as well, providing a quick bite to eat for those not wanting to go out to a restaurant for dinner on those nights. I wish every hotel was as nice as this one. Great job!

This is the first Marriott hotel I have ever given a poor review to. The staff treated my wife like a criminal asking to make a copy of her DL. They did not do this on the night she checked in. They made her come back to the front desk on the morning of check out and told her they needed to do this. She wasnt allowed to use our points even though she had the confirmation # and email. She was never acknowledged as a Marriott member. Which has never happened before. Shes never had any problems when she traveled by herself. They couldnt even follow the reservation and schedule her stay for the correct amount of nights. She was unable to access her room 2 or the 3 days she was there. Horrible service and maintenance.
Hotel can be a little cheaper. A/C & Heater made a loud noise so I had to turn up the TV. Shower had wasnt cleaned, it had finger prints on everything. Room can use some bug spray around living room area. Other than that the staff was nice. The area had a lot to offer.
PM shift are not very helpful and attentive. Asked to extend our stay and claimed that it was done by Megan, but thankfully I called for another extension date and it was pointed out to me that we weren’t booked until March 8th originally before changing it to March 10th.I’d like to give kudos to Karen, Assistant Manager who had excellent customer service and provided us our needs. She was attentive and courteous. She needs to be promoted and recognized.Chief of maintenance was very passive when called for the leak in our kitchen sink. I waited a day and another phone call to get it checked. He stated “I don’t see any leak when I turned the dishwasher and faucet on”. I pointed out that I literally used 3 towels to avoid flooding and he said to call if the problem persisted. True enough, called for him 2days later to fix it. Kitchen hours should be extended until 10am for weekdays since working hours are different and to male it flexible. I was turned down to get my food when I arrived 905am. So ended taking coffee next to the kitchen location then I overheard another customer stating “I am a nurse and sorry I’m late for breakfast cause my shift ended late”. She was handed out food. Truly disappointed. I am a nurse who teleworks and never mentioned that I work for our veterans for 15yrs and did 25yrs of nursing, but never pointed it out since business hours for the kitchen is from 630am to 10am M-F. Just stayed positive and didn’t want to complain and be confrontational about it but the kitchen lady who is tall should also be fair when giving out food.
This hotel is clean, up to date and has wonderful amenities. The wifi is fast, the pool is clean and the workout room is just the right size. You can enjoy a complimentary breakfast or cook in your room. The staff is friendly and always stopping to say good morning, afternoon or evening.
This was one of the best Residence Inns we have stayed in this far. The staff was friendly and nice, the breakfast was great with a lot of variety and it also smelled very good in this hotel! You can see the pride that the staff takes at this location! I didn’t get to use all of the amenities but I did see they have new state of the art workout bike! Whenever I visit again, this will definitely be my preferred location!
I spent one night here but it was enough time to give a great review! Check in was smooth and the woman was very helpful. The room was clean clean clean and smelled great! And the breakfast the next day was not your ordinary continental breakfast. They had a great setup with options, & not to mention the staff was very very polite and helpful. Will stay again if Im in the area no doubt
I booked as a last minute trip for me and my husband away from home and work to take a breather. Apon arrival the front desk host was very polite and informative. The room was nice and clean just a little out dated but thats ok. We picked up food from a local restaurant and truly slept the night away.
The room was spacious and appeared clean. However, the room smelled as if it had bee smoked in several times. As a non-smoker I could no longer take the smell (even after buying air freshener). I am almost certain that if I asked to change rooms I could have, but at that point I thought I would be better somewhere else. Again, the staff was pleasant and the room appeared clean, it was just the lingering smell of smoke that was the major negative.
We stayed here for 2 months as we were displaced. The hotel staff is very friendly and professional especially Erolyn who works in the cafeteria. The rooms are new, clean and comfortable. The breakfast and happy hour foods are delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves here!

Hi This hotel is great for families. Lots of space. Great pool and sports court. We love the breakfast buffet. The only negative is they need to update their tired mattresses.
I stayed at this hotel with my wedding party and was treated like trash. The police was called on us several times, constant knocks at the door as if it was a crime to communicate with your guess and with talking to random people that rented there this past weekend they complained there were treated the same as if this hotel was racist. I love the residence inn but I will never ever recommend this location in cypress. They made my stay miserable.
This hotel locationis good, near Costco. the first night stayed was terrible. I have waited for three hours get the room key. The room was super noise, I was completed, but front desk staff Megan was ignored my request. We could sleep all night even though we were exhausted after long drive. The second and third night were wonderful since I asked to change the room. I appreciated Ashleys help.
The hotel was clean and well maintained. The rooms were spacious and organized with everything one could need for a short trip. Although, the fitness area was small and a few of the machines are no longer working, they did still have two treadmills that worked. The fitness area needs some attention.
My wife and I, along with my elderly mother, were visiting family who lived in the nearby Westminster area. The two bedroom/bath suite fit our needs perfectly for accommodations, location, and price point. It was the only hotel in the area offering this type of floor plan. The physical facilities appeared clean and well maintained inside and out. The breakfast bar and semi-nightly mixers were very good, friendly, and staffed by very personable people. Its located relatively close to Disney, beaches, freeway access, shopping, restaurants, anything you might want to do! A vehicle is a necessity, after all, it is Southern California! Overall, we were very pleasantly surprised and pleased with the quality and value of our stay at the Residence Inn Cypress Los Alamitos.
Stayed here for a business trip in Jan 2020. Layout is nice as the lobby/breakfast/conference area is separate building from the hotel rooms surrounding a private courtyard. Hotel is not far from restaurants and a few stores. Long Beach and Disney are a short hop away. Rooms are quiet, with windows that can open if you like. I believe all the rooms are suites so you have a kitchenette (fridge, microwave, stove, dishwasher) that can save you some money and cook something instead of eating out all the time.
Odd configuration to the hotel. Buildings not connected to each other.My AC kept ‘freezing up’ as if we still lived in the 80’s.The shower is unusable. I don’t think my feet got wet in the shower. Almost all hotels have this issue though.Staff seems to be hospitable. Decent location. I do like the bed. The pool and hot tub are nice.But for me the killer is; I basically wake up every 30 minutes because they have timers on everything. I need noise. After 30 min everything shuts off.Has kitchenette.
This hotel is clean, comfortable, efficient, and well-run. I have stayed here multiple times recently and it is my go-to place in the area. its one of the best RIs Ive stayed for updating, upkeep and food choices, but the thing that really sets it apart is the staff. From the general manager on down, they are genuinely friendly, interested, effective, and helpful. They have done more to make me feel at home and comfortable than any hotel staff I have encountered in all my years.
Rooms are amazing. Newly updated and super comfy! Breakfast is top notch. Recommend staff to speak English at a minimum and at least acknowledge Elite members. Thought that was part of the program??? Didnt happen during our stay. The wasp invasion needs pest control attention and the pool needs to be clean. Other than that everything else is top notch.

This is a well maintained older property with excellent service. The staff was very helpful and responsive. There is some updating that is needed to be worthy of a rating of excellent, such as new bathroom fixtures and mattresses.
TV and internet sucked the whole 3 weeks I was there. That was the worst of things. Staff friendly, room clean, comfortable bed, shady goings on in the parking lot. Great free breakfasts. Too expensive to have things not work right... good room...
Top notch hotel for its price range,safe,secure, comfortable and pet friendly. Staff was always courteous and eager to answer your questions/solve issues.(never had any myself, other than having to extend my stay,twice. Which they tended to quickly and easily) Breakfast isnt amazing, but much better than many other places. Maid staff are respectful to downright helpful. Never came close to having any issues with any of them.Overall,I would recommend this place to others. (Have stayed in many hotels and motels all over the world, and Id still recommend this place!)
We only stayed here for one night but it was a great stay. This hotel is conveniently located near a lot of good restaurants, Knottsberry farm. Parking options were good, the 2 bed/ 2 bath suite that we stayed in was in good shape, well stocked. Would stay again if I am in the area again.
I have stayed there previously for pleasure (family events). The location and layout are convenient for business or pleasure. The staff is very pleasant and helpful and make your stay comfortable. The breakfast on Sunday (12/4/16) was exceptional with biscuits and gravy and chocolate croissants. The location is a great value for the money!!
We had a family reunion this past weekend and most of our family stayed here. It is our 2nd time being here. The rooms are just beautiful; decor, amenities, size, comfort, cleanliness...everything! The lobby is beautiful and the breakfast is delicious! What really put our stay over the top, though, was the stellar and friendly customer service provided by their employee Erolyn. She went out of her way every morning to make sure that we had what we needed and that our stay was comfortable. By the end of our visit, she knew most of our names. In the food area, I would also see her being friendly to other customers and even remember their childrens names. I think that anyone who takes the time to get to know people to make their stay that much better is just an asset to the company and an amazing human being. We are grateful to her and absolutely love your Residence Inn.
The staff at the Marriott Los Alamitos, Cypress are lovely, kind, thoughtful and efficient.The hotel itself could use an update, its worn, the room we were in smelled of cat and the furniture was clawed, and the electrical was an issue, providing no air conditioning the first night, and the dishwasher tips in a rather precarious manner when the door is opened. As I said, the staff were lovely and did there very best to resolve any issues I had and know the area and answered all questions we had in a timely and well though out manner.I have concern that Marriott would allow one night staff member, who was female to work alone. Especially when I had a noise complaint at 2am and she had to deal with it alone.
My stay was very good. Front desk staff were very pleasant, professional and informative when asking questions. Lisa, GM is in all honesty the best manager I have worked with even when there was a change in accommodations. Rooms, breakfast and other staff are also very pleasant as well as engaging. My family and I will definitely stay at this location again.
I had to decide between renting an apartment and staying at the Residence Inn during a five-month home renovation. Very glad I decided on the Residence Inn. No hassle with furniture, cable, parking, security issues, service, furniture rental, etc. Yes, it did cost a bit more but was well worth it when you consider that there was nothing to take care of other than bringing my clothes and other necessities for the stay. Even when the hotel is full, you never really hear any noise. Its very quiet here. Great location too! Lots of restaurants and shopping within a two mile radius. Plus the location is close to all freeways! Would definitely do again.
We have stayed, and had many out of country visitors stay here and everyone was satisfied. The complimentary breakfast is great, as are the mixers. We always had good service, staff is friendly and caring, and any problem had a solution. Very satisfied and would highly recommend this location. Also, the price was reasonable in relation to the amenities.
The hotel stay was just okay. The room was nothing special and there was trash on the floor when we arrived. There was issues with some of the lights in our rooms and we didn’t get a resolution. All in all probably wouldn’t stay again.
The hotel itself was very nice. We booked the two room suite and it was wonderful. Full kitchen with a full size fridge, dishwasher, oven, microwave; even stocked with dishes. The bedrooms were nice with comfy beds and there’s even two bathrooms. Bed rooms were on opposite sides of the suite so the two rooms has a lot of privacy. The only thing about the rooms that I didn’t like is they don’t offer in room movies for purchase which was a bummer. Even though the hotel is very nice the customer service there is awful. I was talked to very rudely by the front desk agent Bree so definitely steer clear of her if you have any issues with your stay. I even brought it up to management and got brushed off with a quick sorry so don’t expect much in the terms of customer service. Besides that, it was a very nice hotel.
We stayed for a week on business/leisure because we had points for 2 nights. The rooms were clean enough on arrival but had minimal maid service the entire week. This Marriott is messy. The staff is friendly and chatty, but that just doesnt take the place of keeping a hotel in good condition. Breakfast tables were always dirty, trash always full at breakfast, door mats and sidewalks really grungy. Dirty linens in big bins were visible every time we exited our building - why not screen that area? Wash/dry clothes is $5.00 per load! And why charge $7 per nite for parking in CYPRESS!! NO OTHER AREA BRANDS DO. As a Gold Card member I would expect better. I would not recommend this hotel as there are too many other choices in So Cal.
Convenient location, close to freeway but not close enough to hear it. Maybe the building is well insulated because it was very quiet. 10 pm noise curfew 😀 excellent breakfast included lots of parking. Suite had everything ( kitchen) to enjoy an extended vacation. Thanks Marriott Don and PamHot water is really slow getting to the room.be prepared to waste 10gallons or more. Maybe Calif has too much water.
The Residence Inn has been our home away from home for the past 5 months while damage at our home is repaired. The rooms are very comfortable and the service exceptional. We are treated to beer, wine, and taste treats 3 nights per week and a free meal one night. The employees are so very friendly and warm that we have adopted some as family. If you are vacationing in the area or just passing thru you couldnt want for a better atmosphere & service than at Residence Inn in Cypress/Los Alamitos Ca.Walt & Joanie
My six-day trip ended up being extended to 9 days, and this hotel was a great place to be. I appreciated the full kitchen, the large workspace, the free wifi and free parking, the very nice people who work here, the fitness room, the laundry room, the dry cleaning services (same day return to the front desk!), the delicious hot breakfasts, the social evenings M-W, the very comfortable bed, the large counter space in the bathroom, and everything about my stay. Being a woman traveling alone on this trip, I also appreciated the security (parking by entrance; card required to enter any building; well-lit parking areas).
I needed a quiet room away from the business of a popular hotel and I got it. I was also HIGHLY impressed that you had a vegetarian option for the meat at your breakfast. This is the 1st one Ive seen in several months. I absolutely loved it! Keep it up and Ill come back for that above all else. Its the little things like the meatless option that makes me feel like someone is doing more than just the standards. The water with lemon and cucumber decanter was also a great touch.Thank you for thinking of the important small things.

Hot tub was nasty and the bathtubs were stained. When i call to get a receipt i had to call 6 people and spend an hour on the phone just to get a receipt
We have stayed here many times to visit our CSULB now graduate. It is always clean and they did the very best they could during COVID. I am not a fan of breakfast food and theirs is not the best. I also do not like pool and gym hours, but the staff is awesome, the place is very clean and well maintained, it is our go to place in Los Alamitos!
We got diverted to the Residence Inn due to our original hotel being overbooked. What can I say other than this place iwas awesome. Clean, friendly and the overall size of the room was the size of a small apartment! Also there was a full sized kitchen, which was great since we were in town visiting family.
The In-laws make a visit twice a year and this is always where they stay. Darling one bedroom apartment set-up. Full kitchen, comfortable living room area and bedroom with an on-suite. Reasonably priced. Located near shopping, the racetrack and great restaurants! Great amenities included!
Good size room with all the amenities we needed for three nights. Comfortable beds and great breakfast. Housekeeping was awesome. Will definitely stay there again next time we visit Disneyland and Knotts. Perfect location!
Our stay at Marriott Residence Inn was excellent!!!! The staff was amazing and always going out of their way to make sure you are taken care of!!! Breakfast, night mixers and food trucks are great!!! The kids loved to Pool area. Everything was so clean and maintained. I would definitely recommend to all my family and friends. Great customer service!!!!!
Wonderful hotel with all amenities. Having the laundry facility on site was very helpful to us as was having the full kitchen. Please note that only the studios have an actual range oven rather than a cooktop. They changed our room from a one bedroom suite to the studio without any issue or additional charge to accommodate the need for an oven. We will definitely stay here in the future.
Hotel staffs were able to cooperate with me in throwing little surprises for my wife as I choose their hotel to be the location for our wedding day stays. We had our wedding ceremony and reception at hangar 21 fullerton, not that far from this hotel. Everyone was so friendly and they deliver an exceptional service. I have no complaint whatsoever.
The beds are very comfortable. The rooms are clean. The staff is nice. I wish that this property was more accommodating to its Marriott Elite members. They never offer the upgrade that we are eligible for. The property location is convenient for our visits.
Great place to stay in Los Alamitos/Cypress, especially if youre going to the horse races. Comfortable studio-like rooms, kitchenette with full refer/freezer, sink, dishwasher, cookware and dinnerware provided. AC works great, comfortable bed, hide-a-bed couch, big tv that swivels to view from any part of the room.I docked a star for a reservation problem we had. My mom reserved her own room, ADA accessible with a roll-in shower. They guaranteed the reservation when we made it directly with the hotel, a month prior to our stay. We arrive to learn that the room she required was not available to us. The man checking us in was very apologetic and sympathetic, even calling to sister hotels looking for availability with no luck; the lady that finally came out was quite curt, unhelpful and seemed upset with us that we were unhappy about not being provided with what was guaranteed to us that we truthfully needed. Very unprofessional and impolite lady. We decided to try out an ADA room with a tub and a shower chair. It was uncomfortable and difficult for Mom, but we made it work.Weve stayed here before and probably will again, but we will have to call multiple times leading up to our visit because we cant trust them to call us when theyve given away the room we need and reserved.I should probably give three stars, but weve stayed here at least 6 times, never had a problem until this visit. We like it a lot here, but beware if you have special needs.
I booked my friends and I a room so we wouldnt have to drive too far after our friends birthday party. We each wanted our own privacy and our own bathroom, well two of us did the other friend didnt mind sleeping on the couch. One friend needed a kitchen with microwave and fridge due to medical issues. This room has it all and it was hard to find one at a reasonable price, this fit the bill and had what we needed. The cherry on top was the breakfast.... she loves waffles! Lol
Loved the upkeep of the hotel and nice staff. Used the pool/sauna. About 20min drive to Disneyland. Quiet area. Nice breakfast selection for the family. Although on weekdays it ends at 9am which they did not mention. 10am on weekends. Parking is $7 though, should be aware.
This hotel is in an excellent location. Walking distance to the race track, food/liquor store, nightclub.The facilities include basketball court, pool, gym, awesome buffet breakfast and more. The hotel has been very recently beautifully renovated. The suite included fully appointed kitchen with full size refrigerator. Also includes all dishes needed. Also includes dining room table, work desk, sectional sofa, living room tv, separate room bedroom with tv, large closet with hangers and a large sized bathroom with sink outside the bathroom. The staff is very friendly and efficient. Check in was less than 5 minutes. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Marriott cypress is a great hotel. The staff were all very kind and helpful . The complimentary breakfast was great. There were lots of options for both kids and adults. The complimentary evening mix was also great . I wish the hotel would offer this Monday - Friday . Note that the hotel does allow animals, so if anyone in your party has allergies make sure you ask for a pet free room. Enjoy your stay !
This hotel is incredibly well managed. The thing that sets it apart is the involvement of Lisa, the general manager. Under her leadership, the staff of this hotel always goes above and beyond expectations. Its clean, its pleasant, its friendly and when things go wrong, as they do from time to time, they get fixed and the fix is done well. I stay here anytime in in the area.
This hotel is comfortable, affordable and convenient to go to most places in Orange County, CA. The staff, including housekeepers and maintenance, are all very friendly and knowledgeable. This Residence Inn is exceptional. I have always tried to stay in a Residence Inn in whatever City I may be in. Thats how much I like the Residence Inn. Not only are the suites clean and comfortable but the full breakfast is wonderful. The breakfast has everything a person could want. That is why Ive stayed at this hotel so many times. I almost forgot to say that this hotel is pet-friendly which is a gigantic plus for me.
I made the reservation late, did not have a lot of options. But we all were surprised with the design of the hotel, clean carpets, did not have a weird smell, was really clean, reception area is really nice as well as the breakfast area. The coffe was really good.
Location is convenient for work at the Los Alamitos Joint Base, and is still very close to some great food options. Rooms are small but cozy. The hotel staff is nice and accommodating. Breakfast is free, and its surprisingly yummy. Id stay here again.
Staff at front desk were very polite, Rooms were clean/fresh no smelly floors. Breakfast area is fantastic!!! I like the choices of breakfast times on hand. Overall stay was a 100+. I always stay at this facility when in town, no other compares.
We were told a $300 security deposit was required. We are a mixed couple with a child. Later was at the front desk when they charged an older white lady $150 only. When asked they said she was there on points, when I told them we were also, they had no explanation for their behavior and didnt offer to refund the difference or make changes. They just brushed me off. Very disappointing!
The staff at this Residence Inn was great! They went out of their way to be helpful, including coming in early to help my husband with changing credit card charges. Our room was always cleaned really well, and when I wanted some tea one afternoon, a staff member found some for me. They were, to a person, helpful and nice.
2 bedroom suite was huge and luxurious. Best place for stay during family vacation to Disneyland. Breakfast buffet had good variations each day in addition to the classic menu. Appreciate the free trial for HBO go.
We stayed in a two-bedroom suite with our daughter and son-in-law. The hotel served breakfast on Th-Fri as weekend hours 7-10, which really prevented a mob scene from 8-9:00. The hot tob was hot and so relaxing after our 9 hour drive from Sebastopol—we got in at 9:30pm. The suite was nice. We had a light supper and watched a movie together Thanksgiving night. It’s so nice to have that common area to share, and separate private bedrooms and bathrooms for each couple. We are so glad to such a good hotel option when we visit family in So. Cal.
I miss driving to the hotel after work. It was a good size room with contemporary decor. Stayed in room 437 and always had a good view of sunset skies. Staff was great, especially the maids. Bed and bath were large and comfortable to use. Amazingly fast and reliable wifi internet - and its free! Would stay again. On par with the Tustin Residence Inn and that place is 2 years old. Only real drawback was the cursing from the group playing volleyball each afternoon. The court is next to the pool and so youre swimming with your kids and you hear grown men cursing and arguing over a volleyball game. A couple of times some took to smoking cigarettes, which again, the pool and hot tub is right next to the court. Youd think kids coughing would be a sign for them to walk away for their smoke break.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and good. Room was excellent. Spacious clean and comfortable. Housekeeping staff were great. Work around my schedule and needs. I would recommend this hotel.
Marriott has thought of everything to provide their guests with all of the amenities to conduct business, prepare food, partake in exercise, and have a comfortable nights sleep. This hotel is very quiet, which is a HUGE plus. WiFi works very well, too. They really deliver! The breakfast is OK, but, as one who needs to be gluten-free, I would appreciate their providing some gluten-free bread.
Very welcoming staff. Good breakfast for a residence inn. Consistent security measures with doors. Clean rooms. Hot showers. Handled package drop off from courier prior to my arrival better than any other hotel ever. This is from someone who has almost 1500 nights in hotels.
The residence inn was a convenient location for my family to stay at . I like that there’s a full kitchen in the room .The free breakfast, gym and pool were cool. However, What I didn’t like was the pet stained carpets and stained comforter that was in our room. For the price they charge a night the facilities should be clean. No one wants to stay in a room that smell like a pet groomer.
We got a one bedroom suite. Its a little small, not much room BTW the end of the bed and the dresser. The other room is not much better. Only one sofa and a small table and chairs for two. The breakfast was just okay. Location is good for us. Also not too happy having to side step the dog poop all over the side walks!!
I was so happy with my stay! I had never stayed at a Residence Inn and was not expecting much but I was very pleasantly surprised! The room was very comfortable (one bedroom suite) and the lobby and grounds were beautiful! The breakfast was great! I will definitely come back to this hotel and will look at other Residence Inns!
Stay has been good. Clean and well maintained hotel. Easy access in great location. Hotel staff are friendly and great. Internet and TV service needs work. Internet cuts in and out and some channels works on certain days.
Room requested was one-bedroom but instead was told I was upgraded to Deluxe Suite. Did not find this to be luxurious or deluxe. Room layout is terrible, quite uninviting. Bed can be seen from hallway so no privacy. Dirty dishes left in the dishwasher because dishwasher was not full (to run). View was poor as well.Hot breakfast was good and there was ample parking. Staff were courteous.
I took this room for my 84 year old Mother who was having work done at home and needed to be out for a week. She has a small dog so that was the initial challenge as well as needing a comfortable place to put together a meal and watch her daily programs on tv. Another words she needed a place like home away from home. The reservations were easy to make, the accommodations were better than expected, the staff at Residence Inn in Cypress were more then helpful and understanding. So beyond the these circumstances the room itself was a financial bargain. I was able to sleep at night knowing my Mother was truly enjoying her stay. She even seemed a little disappointed when it was time to leave. Kudos to you Marriott and Residence Inn Cypress. Thank you so much.

Great location near shopping and lots of nearby food choices. Rooms and grounds are super clean and well kept. Pet friendly with good spots for walking dogs. Breakfast is served daily with lots of choices, they also have afternoon snacks and drinks. Pool area is small, but well kept.
We needed a place with a kitchen for 4 nights. The room was a Good size for the three of us and the full kitchen was invaluable. Complimentary breakfast was really good, always hot and fresh and the staff was really great. Would certainly consider staying again
Staff was friendly & welcoming on check in. Lobby was well maintained. As a platinum member we were upgraded to the two bedroom site which was very nice and clean. Good parking lot & and nice breakfast.We will stay there again when in the area.
This hotel staff goes out of its way to be friendly, effective, and helpful. From the general manager on down, everyone seems to work hard to give the best experience possible. The hotel is recently updated and well kept. The rooms are comfortable, and the public spaces are quite nice.
My reservations were placed well in advance and did not change. I checked in to my room without problems. About mid-stay I recived a bill, when I asked the front desk I was told I should not have been in that room because it is scheduled for reconstruction during my stay and was asked to move rooms at that time, zero notice! Also the breakfast is fresh over cooked powdered eggs, if thats your thing, with other items. The gym was also closed, and the laundry is coin operated with medium sized older appliances.
The 2 bed 2 bath suite configured room was a real plus for 3 of us. Good amount of room and a full kitchen with ice maker in refrigerator. Very clean property with very friendly staff. Will definitely stay here again!
The friendly staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The rooms are spacious and very clean. Our room has a fireplace and had a good view overlooking the pool.

The hotel is fine. Like any Residence Inn anywhere. The property is reasonably clean, reasonably well-kept ... but they have started charging for parking. This is a money grab and a huge pet peeve. Logic would dictate that they simply raise the rates by $7 daily, but then their rates would not SEEM competitive with surrounding properties. Other than that, the only concern was lack of oversight of the breakfast area.I will NOT return, however. The parking is a deal breaker.
Residence Inn Cypress Lost Alamitos is clean, comfortable with updated beds and good internet. The staff is always friendly and breakfast is consistently good. This property caters to families with kids, so the pool and open areas are regularly active. Overall a very good hotel in the area.
The hotel is dated but does the trick. The main problem that I had is that AC is by the bed and makes a bunch of noise at start up. It is not a window unit so it is hidden but separated by a metal panel. Hotel staff was friendly and would say hello when walking by.
My first travel Nursing assignment.... WiFi was intermittent daily for my entire 7 week stay (had a child on virtual learning that could barely get online for attendance at least!), and had no ability to steam movies from smart TV apps on the TV in my room. Notified the front desk more that 9 times about the issue with no resolution even though they were aware and made the cause that there were only problems in the smaller building. They were and are very much aware of the internet issues currently because they told me when I was checking out only 3 days ago that they are going with a different provider, but the issue was never resolved for my stay. Another big issue is that after about half of my stay, my rate increased without my knowledge- no call, no notification from staff! I only realized because I looked at my invoice that was emailed. The only thing they could say was that it changed because of market fluctuation. This makes zero sense to me as I was locked into the rate from the beginning. I was told by the manager that I would be refunded the difference for seven days, but she only ended up refunding $9 x 6 days- in which I was still charged the increased fee for my last seven days. There is also the hidden fee of $7 per night for parking. I was told that because I was a first responder RN for the covid crisis, the fee would be waved. It was dependent upon the location according to customer service, and the fee was not waived. Despite calling the actual Marriott customer service, these are still unresolved. If you have to stay somewhere for an extended period of time, my suggestion is that you consider Airbnb or VRBO within the area instead! Lessons learned!
This property is up to date, clean and very comfortable. the staff at the reservation desk and also in the breakfast area were all polite and very helpful.the one thing we feel is a bad trend, is the parking fee. we have stayed at many marriott chain hotels over the past 3 decades, and only incurred parking fees in major cities, near airports or in highly congested areas. we are more used to having parking fees at a marriott hotel, rather than any residence inns, courtyards, fairfield inns or springhill suites. also, we had hoped that when marriott merged with starwood hotels, they might adopt some of the more gracious amenities starwood provided their member patrons, such as free water bottles, wi-fi. etc. some of the marriott properties DO offer the free wi-fi, but most do not and the only reason we were given a bottle of water was because we are gold members and my husband was given a dice to roll & won a bottle of water. the remaining days we stayed in the south bay area, we booked at a best western plus suite hotel, where we were greeted with a bag of snacks, two water bottles & were given bottles of water for the road, besides the full breakfast, free wi-fi, as we had at the residence inn, but zero parking fees.
Nice hotel. Buildings, room decor and furnishings are a bit outdated and extremely worn. The facility is currently undergoing a renovation that will presumably address most of these issues. The strong points of this facility are: staff was courteous, professional and accommodating; quiet location; breakfast was good.
I am a regular visitor to this site and have been staying there for several years and have never been disappointed. The rooms are large and always clean and well decorated with comfortable beds. Personnel treat you like family at each stay.
Okay and sufficient overall, but the bathroom was not properly cleaned. The 5-inch flame of the pilot light for the fireplace was bright & annoying, making it hard to sleep in that room. The motion sensor for the wall light was also quite annoying - every time I moved in the sofa bed, the light came on. The rate was good for a 2-bedroom suite for the three of us, but I’ll probably look elsewhere next time.
We were in town for our Grandsons wedding and wanted to be close to our daughters house. The hotel was relatively close and it was a Marriott. Marriott properties is our primary choice when traveling.We enjoyed our stay. The housekeeping staff did a great job as well as the breakfast crew. We will choose this hotel the next time we visit our family in California.
Room was nice clean, staff was friendly, fullly stocked kitchen with a dish washer and full size fridge. guest laundry had multiple machines with free detergent dispenser, good breakfast. only two problems were i guess someone left a tub or a sink going and it flooded into the end of the hall so there was that wet smell for a few days and then the maids took one of my towels so i guess they have a sense of humor. good stay if you like having some home cooked meals or just not eating out every meal on a long trip.
We were literally only at our hotel at night, 3 nights total, we were out doing things during the day. They charged a $150 smoking fee even though the room wasnt smoked in, said it probably cause it was on our clothes and we were on the furniture. I seen other people outside smoking too so I dont get it.
Overall an okay stay. Room was clean, staff was friendly. Biggest issue I had was the terrible internet.I travel a ton for work and need a stable internet connection. This hotel does not have that. Constantly getting kicked off the network. No internet even when connected. The IT support was useless.Fix that and you have an great place to stay.
When ever possible we love to spend a few days at the Residence Inn. My husband is a big coffee drinker and it is ready and available 24/7. He is also a big breakfast eater. He loves the waffles. I love that I do not have to make or do the clean up. He eats and I sleep in a very comfortable bed. Then off to the pool to swim before and after lunch. Lots of great places to have lunch and dinner. Staff does everything to keep us happy.
For the amount of the room charged is not equal to the service. I have been here approx. 60 days and NEVER seen the hot tub nor the pool cleaned.The rooms have furniture and carpet that was cleaned, But they are out dated, the end table in front of the couch is wobbly and the leg is about to break off. I have been staying in the Marriott traveling/working (2016) and nothing has changed with decors. The pull-out couch is a joke, no adult can sleep on it comfortably. The Mix - the food served reflex junk thrown together, I have to guess what it is most days and cannot eat it. I find it cheap to open bottles of beer and pour into a cool aide pitcher for guess to share, which I find unsafe and unsanitary.I went into the fitness room which is too small, no fresh air circulating and now room for two people to stretch. It is claustrophobic.
Rooms and service are good, but dont depend on the internet. Free Wifi runs at about 5 Mbps. I paid for the enhanced internet in order to get a higher speed, that DOES NOT work. I called their tech support on a daily basis to get it resolved. I would get 50 Mbps for a few hours, but then would get it kicked back down to 5 or as little as 2 Mbps. This also affects the TV service. You cant watch any streaming service during the prime time of most of the guests being back. The TV streaming service simply wont load at all. Ive never encountered this at any hotel Ive stayed in, even in the early 2000s. I need the internet for work, so this issue is a deal breaker for this location.
Not a hotel for light sleepers. Maybe its just this location in Cypress, CA. I didnt get a good nights sleep the 2 nights I booked. I had to shut off my ac/heat thermostat since the unit was located in the wall right inside the bedroom! Once it turns on it literally sounds like a train passing by your window. I did read that on Yelp from a past guest but didnt pay attention until it happened in my room. There is no way anyone can sleep with the unit on. Then after falling asleep I was awoken by a loud vibrating sound. As if someone took a giant cellphone, put it against the wall where my bed headboard was and set it off on vibrate every hour. I concluded it was next doors ac/heat unit located within that wall. Id like an inspector to look at how far away that unit to the wall actually is. It sounds as if its butted right up to the bedroom wall. As stated it seems like it went off every hour.The 2nd night I tried to outsmart the noise in the bedroom by sleeping on the very thin and uncomfortable pull out bed in the living room. I didnt hear the noise coming from the neighbors ac unit but now the opposite neighbor had their television on until 3am. The volume wasnt on high but nonetheless I can hear every word clearly through the thin walls.Most hotels have ac/heat units outside of the building. Either on the rooftop or located outside your room. Something to ask about when booking your next hotel. I cant stress enough you get what you pay for but in this case the price for Residence Inn Cypress was a rip off. I will be Yelping this review with photos.
I have to move to a different Residence Inn this weekend because of the bad Internet. It stopped working all night at the whole hotel. Worse and worse. I did contact the company at midnight again. But It still happened. I asked for a solution again, but front desk said its not their fault and sorry for me. I really love this Residence Inn. I planed to stay at least half year before buying a house. But I have to go. I must finish my job and reschedule my Internet meeting. I am so sorry, Mommy. I cant keep my promise. I love you guys ❤❤❤ (5/10/2017)I love Residence Mommy Raquels cooking, soy meat with pineapple, Caesar hot chicken. It is delicious. Employees are sweet. They take care of guests spontaneously and are happy. My housekeeper Maria is also thoughtful, she bring soap box to my room when she see me wash my hands. I love staying at the Residence Inn in Los Alamitos. The staff is great, my room is always very clean and the grounds are well kept and look very nice. The staff makes me feel welcome and always tries to accommodate me when I have a special request. The hotel is close to many restaurants, Disneyland and the beaches. I highly recommend this hotel.
Love the hotel, EXCEPT, no hot water in the shower, even though hot water in sink, next to shower. Stupid light switches that turn the lights off automatically when you are in the room. While watching TV, had to get up and go over and turn the lights back on. Love the automatic coffee maker in the lobby. Makes a perfect cup of coffee, every time. These should be required in every Marriott. This is a nice property but just needs to be modernized and updated as the mechanical systems are showing their age.
Great hotel! Very modern rooms and nice layout. Free breakfast was good, and not too far from Disneyland. Would recommend parking at the Toy Story lot if staying here for Disney.
This is a very good hotel for couples and families. Check in and Check out were flawless and staff were very accomodating and friendly.The rooms were clean and spacious and had a fully equipped and clean kitchen. Free breakfast was a plus!
On our first night we had to call in someone because our A/C unit wasnt working. So they sent someone around 6 p.m. and he had to turn the switch on the breaker which were in one of our 2 rooms. By 8:00 p.m. the room was still warm but he told us we had to wait and turn the thermostat up and down by 5 degrees and wait 5 minutes, it was confusing but we tried. At 11 p.m. the entire unit shut down and my husband had to switch on the breaker. They told us the same instructions so we waited. 12 a.m. I had to walk to the front desk and personally tell them it just wasnt working and we need to switch rooms by then the room felt like it was 80 degrees, and living in Hawaii, I KNOW what that feels like. We were forced to move ALL of our things at 12 a.m. because we werent allowed to occupy 2 rooms. So we did along with our sleeping 2 year old.While the girl was trying to help me at 12 when I walked down, I heard her telling another co-worker she doesnt know what to do since there will be no manager in the next day since it was Presidents Day. I think there should ALWAYS be a manager on especially during a holiday.Last, our second to the last night we stayed there we had tenants that just came in at around 5 p.m. slamming things on the floor and stomping their feet like they were playing music. I didnt mind since it was day although this continued throughout the night. Literally till 4:30 a.m. is when I fell asleep. I did call the night before at 11 p.m. so the guy said let him know if it persists in the next 5 minutes. I gave them a chance and it continued of course, so I called at 12 and the front desk guy said they just moved in the room and is settling in so give them 15 minutes. I did, and it continued until the next day. So I called at 3 p.m. after we got in and let the front desk know my problem from the night before and she was happy to help. The noise continued, and at 9 p.m. I called and she acted like she didnt know anything and said she has to read my notes. The noise did stop around 10:30 p.m. and I was happy to check out the next morning.I NEVER write a review and if I did it would be a excellent review. The staff needs more training in helping their tenants and a manager should always be on duty.I think I rated high considering what happened, but I tried my best to live with it. I just wish it would have been more comforting since it was our familys first trip to Disneyland
We loved the hotel! Beautiful atmosphere, the breakfast was amazing. We loved all the outdoor seating. Definitely would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice hotel!
My wife and I stayed at the Residence Inn for about 10 weeks while our house was under renovation. We had everything we needed to feel at home. The facility is well designed. The staff is attentive and helpful. Highly recommended for an extended stay.
Very nice staff. However, I dont enjoy sharing bath soap, shampoo and conditioner. Its in a pump bottle but still Id rather not share. They should go back to individual bottles... especially during COVID. We arent allowed to share the pen we sign in with but its ok to share the bath soap. Luckily for me I always bring my own.
We were in the area due to my husband uncle having surgery and we didnt get to see him until late. So my husband and I decided to stay in Los Alamitos instead of driving home and returning in the morning. Check in was quick and easy. Room was nice but needed a little more on the cleaning part. I would definitely stay there again if I was in the area.
We had business at the Los Al Race Track so this hotel is the best for location. But what brings us back year after year is the staff who go above and beyond normal service. From the front desk to housekeeping to food service, they are incredibly pleasant and make sure you are well taken care of. On par with the four star hotels.
Good location to access the Los Alamitos Race Track. Most hotels are not staffed enough & some of the routine work is being sacrificed. This hotel is doing a better job of cleaning
Check-In time is 4 pm. When we arrived at 4 pm, the room was not ready. Ive NEVER been in a hotel that did not have the room ready by the check-in time established by management. The room surfaces were dusty which makes me think that housekeeping was rushing and also makes me wonder what else was not cleaned appropriately. Ill NEVER stay at this location again nor recommend to anyone.
We have not checked into this place yet, but I have to say they have great customer service. Brandynn Melendez was very helpful in setting up my room blocks for a family wedding party that we had coming in. She answered emails in a timely manner and was able to fulfill all of my requests. You won’t be disappointed with her.
We had a great stay. We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite. The free breakfast was delicious, with different hot food choices everyday. Parking was abundant. The staff was exceptional.
My husband and I stayed for several days after a week-long vacation at a beach house nearby. From check-in to check-out, we were pleasantly surprised by the level of professional and courteous service. The hotel was very clean and well-maintained and excellently managed. We will definitely return when visiting family in the area.
Nice hotel, but very overly priced.
The rooms were nice enough and the breakfast was good. I did had to move rooms after the first night because of a mistake they made in booking.The most irritating thing I saw was that despite charging for parking, they did not enforce the parking rules.Otherwise my stay was pleasant enough.
The hotel looks like it has gone through some upgrading recently. The elevators were terrible - one was out of order and other one made a terrible noise. Our room had a strong odor to it that was being masked by a deodorizer or cleaner. Check-in was an excessive process, unorganized - didnt know which rooms were ready.
Nice location close to shopping and businesses but quite. Typical residence inn in California broken in pods of rooms hover pods are accessed from inside so maybe a little more modern. Breakfast was typical, social a little weaker then other in California. Nice clean well maintained site.
We called this hotel, home for the last 6 months. The staff was friendly, and the rooms were very clean. The maids especially were outstanding. I would definitely come back here.
Excellent experience. Felt safe on property. The price was affordable. The hotel was clean and staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was delicious every morning. The coffee machine made delicious coffee!!
The first thing I noticed was absolutely unusable internet. Secondly, upon checking out they sent me a blank receipt. I called to get the receipt sent to me and the woman on the phone lied and said I was unauthorized to get a receipt whatever that means. If youre a business traveler and need to expense your room AVOID THIS HOTEL because its not worth the hassle to get something as simple as a receipt emailed to you.
Front desk makes you sign a no smoking policy. We were charged a 250 dollar smoking fee. Its your word against them. Good luck
Planned to stay here for 3 nights, checked out after the first night. Customer service was great, bed was awful. Neither my wife or I slept very well, every time one of us moved in the night the other was woken up, and our backs hurt in the morning. Rooms were average, some ripped/worn places on the couch and chairs. Hallway smelled like someone had (over)cooked asian food. Breakfast was below average based on quality/taste of food. Breakfast/lounge area furniture was past its service life, felt like I was sitting on a wood frame. Would not stay again unless they renovated and replaced the bed.
Char and the other employees were all friendly. I interacted mainly with Char upon arrival and departure. She goes out of her way to make sure that the customers are well treated. I waited in line, to pay my check, and there was a gentleman in front of me that Char was assisting. Char consistently makes guests feel at home at the Cypress Residence Inn. I observed her giving the person in front of me complete information about the accommodations and made certain that he knew that she and the others at the front desk were there to assist him. She did the same thing upon my arrival.The room was clean and orderly, and the breakfast was delicious. I needed a quiet place to rest, and I couldnt believe how nice and quiet my room was. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Cypress Residence Inn.
Friendly environment. Room facility is a little bit old. Monday to Wednesday night happy hour event with free alcohol drinks and snacks is a plus. Hard to get out the hotel property to merge to main street during morning rush hours because Katella Blvd is a very busy street.

We had to relocate for a couple of days due to our house being fumigated. We went to the Residence Inn Cypress because it was closest to our house and it was pet friendly. We had a very enjoyable experience and it was kind of like a staycation. The rooms were amazingly clean and updated along with the pool and Jacuzzi a lot of fun.
The staff at the hotel made this stay great for my family. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The kids got to enjoy the pool and breakfast was quick and delicious.
The staff was very kind and friendly. The a/c needs maintenance, because it sounds like a truck when it is on. The property needs just a little exterior maintenance; like pressure washing. Other than that everything was really nice.

My stay at the Residence Inn Cypress is always a pleasant and relaxing experience and I look forward to each visit. I have two daughters who work at the racetrack and it is so convenient to be able to visit with them so close to their work. When they have a break they come and relax and watch TV or we cook a meal and just relax. It is truly my home away from homeAll of the employees from front desk to kitchen help seem to love their jobs and make a person feel appreciated..
My family and I stayed at the Residence INN Cypress in Los Alamitos for five-nights. The two-bedroom, two-bathroom suite was comfortable and roomy for the whole family. It was a very relaxing stay with no complaints. Breakfast was good, I really enjoyed the selection of juices, coffee, hot chocolate, tea, milk, etc. to go along with breakfast-plus the fresh fruit. Second time stay at the Residence INN Cypress Los Alamitos, it wont be the last.
Very nice hotel. I will def reccomend it to anyone coming to town. The pool area is clean and organized and the rooms seemed clean as well. Plus breakfast in the morning was amazing! Tw thumbs up for this hotel for sure!

Love the 2-bedroom suite! Lots of room like a condo. Beds were comfy. Kitchen was well equipped. It’s a home away from home but with amenities and service you don’t get at home .
Had an extended stay for two weeks in Los Alamitos. Didn’t really know where to stay but the price was right and the hotel was close to where I worked. Very clean super nice staff everything was clean. Home away from home.
Great hotel with friendly customer service ! My family was here just for a few days, but we loved how close it was to area restaurants and enjoyed the free hot breakfast buffet every day. If you can try requesting a room that faces the race track so you can see the horses exercise in the morning.
We have stayed at the Residence inn in Los Alamitos several times in the past few years and have placed several of our guests here and found the staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good and the surroundings are pleasant. Highly recommend!

The staff and service is what has kept us sane while dealing with 3 insurance companies while residing at the Inn since 7/5. I cant say enough on how pleasant and accommodating EVERYONE has been, being empathetic to our situation. They all seem very happy, which must be a direct reflection on your company and them enjoying their employment. It actually makes me want to seek a job in hospitality, to make people feel welcomed as they have made us feel.
Clean facilities, pleasant staff and great location!!! Cant wait to come back. We also had experiences with the management and sales staff, all of our concerns were quickly addressed professionally, they really went above and beyond. Its amazing how when you actually take the time to clearly communicate your concerns to the staff, they will actually be more than happy to help you out. I would give it excellent service if once a while they can give me a late checkout.

Clean rooms and very nice and accomodating staff. Always working to make it right if it is wrong. Hospitality is lacking in general in the service industry, I found Residence Inn a nice change of pace. Oh and got to mention the social mixers on M-W, some free food and alcohol
I really like the facility. The customer service was to my expectations. I like the common area (pool, lounge, lobby). The facility had a nice area where you can bbq and hang out. Great place to have a family reunion.
I made reservation today me and my family we came in a little bit early told me I have to come back 4pm I said its ok but can you put me on 3rd floor he said yes but the room not ready need to be clean. I said ok will be back at 4pmby the time I came back Were ready to be check in the front desk lady said your room not ready and she goes on you dont want to stay in a dirty room are you? After I heard I was shocked Idid not expect she will say that? And Im the customer. I said regardless clean or not we should be check in by 4pm? To make story short I asked to speak to a manager and the man in front desk next to her said I am the manager and he said to me I am rude and he dont want me to stay in Marriottt and he said you can have you money back. I said I will call marriott corporation he said go ahead! Very unprofessional I was very disappointed I feel pity to my mother whose disable we travel far lthis is what we experience to Residence inn Marriott. They deliberately cancelled my reservation today without notifying me! I found out because I called Marriott and the representative said they cancelled your reservation for today. They should know this is Discrimination and I will never go back there again!!!! This people need to be retrain.
The Residence Inn at Los Alamitos offers the feel of a resort with beautifully landscaped grounds, well maintained rooms, lobby area and pool and staff that provide exceptional service while taking pride in doing so. My husband and I have stayed here on numerous occasions- their consistently wonderful service and quality of the facility insure that we will keep returning when in the Long Beach CA area.
Overall is a good stay. Good location. I would like to come back here again hoping with friendlier staffs next time. I love staying at residence inn Marriott so I would love to keep going back to any Marriott hotel and would definitely recommend staying every time.

2023-07-30 23:59:59The room is large, the service is in place, and the stay is comfortable. The breakfast is okay, the swimming pool is also good, and there is a heated jacuzzi. The only disadvantage is that the range hood does not have an external discharge function, it can only circulate internally. Chinese food tastes great when cooked, and I am afraid it will set off the alarm.

2023-07-08 11:32:38I couldnt get a decent nights sleep at this location, because the AC was so noisy. It was like sleeping in the same room as a muted jet engine. It isnt an isolated problem, because my son and I were given 2 1 bedroom units next to each other, because we had reserved a 2-bedroom suite that was unavailable at check-in. Both units were equally noisy. The staff sent an engineer to check the units, but he claimed they were fine. To add insult to injury, he left the thermostats on heat to 80 degrees when he left. Its a shame, because the staff were otherwise friendly and hard working. We come to the area often to visit family, and I was glad to see a new Homewood Suites under construction next door.

Waited 45 minutes for the items, housekeeping forgot items, waited another 45min. I suggest! Once entering your room take inventory, call immediately.2: The hall from the elevator to our room, foul odor.

2023-05-12 04:59:01This is our segund time there. This time not very happy. They gave us a room with no window in bedroom!! You wake up to a wall. Also, their breakfast closes way too early, 9am!!! So often, we missed our breakfast. There was only one elevator working!
