The customer service at this Marriott location is the worst. The front desk staff almost seemed bothered when we asked them for any assistance. When we asked to use the shuttle to get to the airport the lady at the front desk informed us it would be 15 minutes. We waited 20 minutes in the lobby them asked again if we could have an update on the shuttle and the front desk gave us a card for the shuttle and said that we need to call the number ourselves and ask for status. When. We called the driver said he would arrive for another 10 minutes. (We then decided to call an uber). We almost missed out flight because of the miscommunication of your staff. The property is beautiful and the only kind staff was the people serving breakfast. Everyone else felt so dismissive.The room was spacious and clean.
Great experience staying here overnight during the floods around the SB area this week!!! Very nice and clean King size Studio, that has a great kitchen, a large glass enclosed shower, comfortable bed and pillows.They also have an on-site laundry room which was an added plus, along with a small area near the lobby desk where you can grab a small selection of snacks if you want to munch on something at any time of day or night. The price also includes a nice breakfast bar in the morning, which has a lot of various options to eat, which I really appreciated.Overall, this was a very great experience staying here, especially in comparison to a different well-known hotel chain that I had stayed in the night before.
Breakfast was very bad. I have stayed in cheaper or as-expensive hotels and have had a better breakfast. They had the same frozen microwaved biscuit on three food dispensers. You would expect better from a hotel that seems luxurious.The air conditioner sounded like a truck. It was very loud. My mom could not sleep on the first night. Because she only slept about an hour on the first night, she managed to sleep better on the second one...Had to pay $10 on parking per night but on similar San Fran and LA hotels parking was free...I stayed in 4 hotels during my California vacation. All except this one had every-day room cleaning and towel change. This one had a towel change every three days.Room was ok. Building is clean and architecturally pleasing.Staff is friendly.I will not stay here when I come to Santa Barbara again!
The staff was super friendly and helpful. My wife had a small dental issue and the front desk staff went above and beyond in helping her find a local dentist. Also, being preferred Marriott members we got an upgrade. Breakfast was good and in the evening there was a mixer with some free food, beer and wine! The one tiny ding was that there was no EV charger for my car, but thats a first world problem :)
I stayed for 5 days to complete my training for Michaels and it was the best stay ever! The shuttle service saved me very long walks and the gentleman that drove me were both super nice! I would definitely stay again.

This was probably the best in-room kitchenette suite Ive ever stayed in. Very, very clean. No rust anywhere. Nice big desk space, very well maintained kitchen with a breakfast bar. Loved the swivel tv that can turn from the living area to the bed.The courtyard is very cute and kid-friendly. Not only is there a pool, but a large chess set, a tiny mini-golf area, pin pong table and a fire pit. Theres also complimentary breakfast. The bed was comfy and the bathroom spacious and clean. I only stayed a night but it was very cozy and quiet. You will have to drive to get to all the sights around Santa Barbara but youll get there within 20 minutes or less. Totally recommend!
This Residence Inn is one of the nicer ones weve stayed in and its in a great location right next to the airport and UCSB and 10 minutes from the Santa Barbara waterfront and the zoo. The heated saltwater pool and hot tub was awesome. They have ping-pong, putt-putt and an outdoor chess game that was really great for the kids. The rooms are nice, well-kept, clean and the kitchenette in the room was spacious and nice. It was really quiet when we stayed there. The front desk staff was amazing and very helpful! The rate was a bit pricey as compared to other hotels and amenities, but it is a great place for families.

The hotel is okay, nothing too special but the staff was not nice or helpful.I booked two rooms, and it took them 5 hours before they could confirm if the second room was clean up or not.We kept checking and they kept saying they will bring the second key to our first room but they never bothered to call us or bring it up. Eventually we had enough and went once again to check on it and they finally checked us in.No apology no nothing, definitely was not treated like a paying customer.This hotel is too pricey to be giving this kind of service.
The hotel is cozy, clean, and well maintained. The breakfast has fresh fruits and tasty coffee. We stayed only one night, and we didn’t have time to enjoy all the amenities the hotel offers, but it’s a good place to stay if you travel with children. Also, if you travel for business, the hotel is pretty quiet and you can work even in the lobby. Overall, an affordable hotel, nice, and clean with friendly, professional staff, especially the breakfast servers.
Everything about this hotel was excellent… location, staff, cleanliness, amenities, rooms. After two over-priced bad experiences in the area, we were pleasantly surprised at the Residence Inn! The rooms are spacious, with a living room and full kitchen. Keurig machine, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, plus dishes, etc. made the stay even more comfortable. The room was spotless and the bathroom had lots of towels, full sized shampoo dispensers and a large shower. The market store downstairs was convenient too. We will definitely stay here again!!
Was staying on my birthday and was welcomed with a birthday greeting at check-in and invited to choose a food item from the market. There was also a birthday note in my room, along with a small selection of snacks. The room was great - wish I had been able to stay longer. The breakfast buffet was very good. The pool area and central outdoor area was lovely. Even at checkout, my birthday was again acknowledged. Nice!
This hotel was beautiful, extremely clean and was the perfect choice for my family. We booked 3 rooms, 2 of which were suites. We have a routine of cleaning with our own cleaning products since before the pandemic and we have since grown our routine because my mother in law is a chemotherapy conqueror. This hotel was so incredibly clean, we didnt feel the need to do our cleaning routine to the full extent. This has never happened to us. We came here to treat our family for our nuptials and the staff here are so thoughtful, accommodating and an absolute delight. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
I had the most amazing time at this location. The staff is amazing! The grounds are amazing. There are BBQ pits outside if your wanting to throw something on the grill. The staff makes sure the pits are on and hot. 4 1/2 foot pool and jacuzzi. There’s also 5 hole punting Green. While relaxing how about a game of chess? The is large so you can walk the board. Friendly or highly competitive game of ping-pong. Enjoy the out door patios and fire pits. This is a highly recommended location if you like going to Santa Barbara and neighboring cities. Enjoy the gym for a full workout! The indoor fireplace was lit the entire time we were there and the seating near the fireplace was very comfortable! Parking is plentiful.
I seldom stay at a Residence Inn or a property in an industrial area, but I gotta say this place worked out great for us.Staff was both very friendly but also savvy/efficient. Got a bottle of wine as my market item welcome amenity.Breakfast spread was impressive compared to most “free continental” offerings.Hotel is 3-4 yo and in very good repair. Rooms are very clean and quiet.Given the pandemic, we loved being able to play games and eat in our rooms (was visiting with my retired parents).If you plan to spend your time in Santa Barbara proper, keep in mind that it’s a solid 15-20 min drive from the property.Was too cold to use pool or outdoor areas, but they seemed nice.
We had to get our room changed because the mattress on the sofa bed was filled with any stains. I would have given it 1 star for service if it wasnt for the gentleman who helped us move into a different room and set up the sofa bed there with extra comforters.
Just visited this property for a girls weekend in Santa Barbara. The hotel is immaculately clean and it was 100% full when we were there. Its a lovely property - great for family stays and weddings. The lawn is beautiful and has fun activities. The breakfast each day was excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful. Would stay there again.
The room is nice, spacious, and the bathroom is relatively comfortable, but the breakfast is not good, there is nothing.
-Top notch professional, personal staff from the moment of check in to the last second wave and “goodbye” as we walked to our car through the lobby. -Enjoyed our stay so much that during our stay we tried to rearrange our schedules to accommodate one more night. Although our rooms were already reserved for the night, the hotel staff offered to contact the people who had the reservations and request they change rooms. Who offers to go “above and beyond” like this these days? -Very clean newish hotel. Our family (with teenagers who constantly feign disinterest) enjoyed the unexpected free lawn activities, especially the ping pong table. -Physical location of the hotel is in an industrial area across from the airport. No noise issues from the airport, neighboring businesses, nor the road. My husband was the only one who heard an airplane takeoff at about 5:30 am.-Central location, close and easy trips to Solvang, Ellwood Monarch Butterly Preserve, Santa Barbara Stearns Wharf, and UC Santa Barbara campus.-The convenient breakfast included several healthy choices (ie turkey sausage patties), and traditional scrambled eggs, bagels, oatmeal. All fresh, hot and well seasoned. Seating was abundant even with the COVID 6 feet distancing.-Nice job Residence Inn Santa Barbara Goleta!
Glad we booked the Residence Inn. The location is directly across from the airport just off Hollister. You would expect airport noise, but this is a smaller airport and the hotel is not under any approach paths. Since there isn’t too much traffic on this stretch of road, getting in and out of the hotel parking lot is a breeze. The architecture and decor of the hotel matches the Spanish inspired architecture throughout Santa Barbara.Hotel staff was very friendly and made check-in very simple. No issues at all. We were even able to grab an early check-in which made things nice as well.Breakfast food is what you would expect for an included breakfast. Nothing to write home about, but still convenient if you’re in a rush and need a quick bite.Room was very clean. The studio room is pretty spacious. There was enough space for two people to work remotely. There were guests in adjacent rooms but you could barely hear them; same for guests above us. The bathrooms were very clean and looked almost brand new. Good water pressure (this is important!).Hotel hospitality staff were very friendly and helpful. Got us everything we needed.The grounds of the hotel are very clean and well kept. The outdoor garden/fire pit area is very nice. Great place to hangout in the evenings. There is also table tennis, life size chess, and a pool and hot tub. Also, bring your doggos! This is a dog friendly hotel!!Will definitely stay here again!
We enjoyed the double rooms for a trip with our teen boys. We used the gym and outside amenities. However, the hotel is very expensive and had a low quality, prepackaged breakfast that did not vary, did not replenish necessary bathroom items nor fix a broken TV in our room. There were not many options for where to stay when we booked, and we were happy with the general accommodations. If there were other options available, I would definitely consider them for a future trip.
This hotel is located near the airport but must be well built because the rooms are so quiet. They are also nicely appointed, spacious, clean and well cared for. We didn’t use the pool/recreation area ourselves but it too was clean and attractive. The location is very convenient - near many restaurants and attractions and we enjoyed using the refrigerator and microwave oven for leftovers. Speaking of food, (pandemic) take out breakfast sandwiches were available in the mornings which was nice but they were only average in quality. The price of the room was outstanding, even with the additional $10/night parking charge. I will definitely stay here again in the future.
We stay in a lot of hotels and Residence Inns are often part of our travel plans. This one is convenient to both Santa Barbara and Goleta, is well maintained, capable friendly staff, good parking, and is generally a good place to stay. We would stay here again as long as we didnt get room 140 because the sofa needs to be replaced. It has had too many heavy guests sit on it and sinks when you sit in it, making it difficult to get up again!
This is an excellent hotel with comfortable accommodations. The staff is friendly and easy to deal with. They have a very good breakfast. Hotel itself has very pleasing decor and amenities. The workout room is well equipped. There is a nice outdoor space with a pool and hot tub as well as a very large sitting area.
Traveling with a dog, this was an excellent choice for us. No, its not on the beach, but the room was spacious and we were able to work, using desk and free Wi-Fi. Close to Santa Barbara Airport and UCSB; Santa Barbara is about 12 minutes drive. Breakfast included was delicious with decent variety. Very friendly staff. Clean workout room and pool. Overall, good value and well return.

Our family had an amazing time on our little getaway. Staff were excellent. The rooms were great and the pool and grounds kept our little ones happy. Right next to the SB airport, but never bothered by the sound. Saw a few little planes up close which the kids loved. Highly recommend!

They need to take cleaning service up a couple of notches. A glass shelf in the bathroom was barely hanging on the wall, the sleeper sofa mattress was stained and should have been replaced...skanky. There was mold and soap residue around shower doors. Very disappointing for the price point.
My wife and I were in town for a wedding in downtown Santa Barbara with our 10 month old. This hotel was perfect for us. About 15 minute drive to downtown kept us close to why we were there. HUGE outdoor turf area with life size chess, different seating, and a pool was great to let our kid let off energy in a safe and clean space. Plus the residence inn rooms are a good size with kitchen amenities (fridge, microwave, sink, plats/utensils/glasses) to be able to make food and eat in a private space (to avoid people in the indoor common space). Noise is minimal for being next to the airport too! And the staff, especially Susan and Jessica, went out of their way to help us feel comfortable.
We stayed for 3 nights and it was great. Rooms are just there right size for a family, kitchen has plates and other cutlery, staff is friendly, and in general a well maintained place. My only negative is the $10 parking fee even for Bonvoy Members and that the AC system is a bit loud. Overall, it was a great trip and we would stay here again.
Got a two bedroom suite (1 King and 2 Queens). Very spacious. Great resort style decor and service. Large human size Chess Set, Ping Pong table and late hours for the heated pool were a hit with my 3 kiddos. The morning breakfast buffet was superb as well. Definitely will stay there again and wish all Residence Inns were like this.
Considering this is a stay right when Covid restrictions have lightened a little but Covid is still not 100% gone, the hotel stay made us feel safe and clean. The bathroom was so clean! The upgrades to the hotel made it look clean and modern. Even though breakfast was not it’s usual buffet, they did their best. Our microwave broke during our stay but the hotel was generous and provided a fair compensation to make up for the fact we weren’t able to use the appliance. We had a little baby with us during our stay and the hotel provided a clean pack and play. We even took him in the pool! We had a great time and we are just sad we didn’t get to utilize more of the facilities.
The staff at the residence inn was very welcoming and pleasant, especially Eva. Although you couldn’t see their faces. I felt they were always smiling and happy. LOur room was more than sufficient and felt very homey. Other than our couch being slightly uncomfortable, we enjoyed our quick getaway.The resort ground were well maintained. I would definitely come back to this resort. Thanks Residence Inn Santa Barbara.

We celebrated our daughters graduation from UCSB and had two rooms close together with my parents. We loved being on the ground floor, enjoyed the deck outside our room (although the tables near the barbeque looked great) and appreciated the lovely decor, lights and pivoting TV. Because of COVID precautions, breakfast was take out and our room was not serviced daily, but hopefully when we return to normal, those services will return! It still was an expensive stay, though.
Having stayed for a week at this hotel, I found it to be an excellent hotel. The room was clean, modern, quiet, and located to the rear of the property away from the airplane noise across the street. I asked for a high floor and a quiet room, not adjacent to an elevator or ice machine. It was quite a distance to walk from the rear of the property to the lobby, but I considered it my exercise for the day.The complimentary breakfast was outstanding, offering a variety of breakfast choices. There is a meet and greet on M, W, and F, where they serve wine and appetizers. I would definitely stay at this hotel again as I felt it was a safe place to get a good nights rest. I highly recommend it! You wont be disappointed!
I was very pleased with my stay and appreciated that hotel guest were wearing their mask inside of the building at all times. Maintenance needs to walk around the outside a little more often because there was trash on the ground close to the trash cans. Regarding the breakfast I appreciate that it was given in a to-go box put the coffee was way too strong and I asked for a sausage muffin and was given a bacon muffin and Im not sure if that was bacon or not. My room was nice and clean and glad that they had a little package of wipes so that I could wipe down the hard surfaces.
Overall services are good. However, if you accidentally left your personal items in the hotel room after you checked out, good luck in trying to get it back. You may think it would be easy that the housekeep would inform the management and the management will contact you right away. On the contrary, you would call the front desk after you found out you left you item there in the hotel after you checked out and they would tell you they would not get back to you until the end of the day when most of guests might have left the town and “nothing found” is more likely they would tell you. Happened to me twice in a residence inn hotel. The last time I was able to get it back after I drove back to the hotel and proved to the manager that I brought it in to the hotel and never brought it out. The manager said they were not responsible for the loss based on the company’s policy. I said I just wanted to let you know a fact that your guest lost her personal item here in the hotel. 30 minutes later after I talked to the manager, another stuff showed up with the item I was looking for, saying it was found in the housekeep’s cart on a different floor. And you were wondering why it had not been reported to the lost and found in the past couple of hours.
The Residence inn Goleta is such a clean and well-appointed hotel. Drew provided outstanding service to our party of four. He was kind, friendly, and he went a ove and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable stay. Wonderful property. Wonderful service. We will return.
I was surprised at the issues with this Marriott. In my experience they are usually very good. That was not the case with this location. They charged over $300 a night and their elevator was broken. I have arthritis in my knees and I had to go up and down stairs with my luggage. I went down to breakfast at 8:30. It closes at 9:00. When I arrived, they were out of eggs. They only had a biscuit with sausage, which I dont eat. I ended up eating a muffin that I bought from a grocery store. They told me to come in the back entrance because it was the closest to my room. Everytime that I entered the building there was someone who didnt have a key, but grabbed the door as soon as I went through. I didnt feel safe. I havent lost faith in Marriott, but I wont be back to this location. The one bright spot was the great service from the lady at the desk.
We were stuck in traffic on 101 and Residence Inn by Marriott saved by wifes birthday evening. We were in bumper to bumper traffic for 4 hours which typically as only a 45 minute drive in rain and wifes birthday was upon us. Didnt want her to spend her birthday on road so stopped at Residence Inn. Receptionist recommended great restaurant and wife was supper Happy. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
This place is very clean and cozy. They are a dog friendly hotel which is really nice if you are traveling with your pets. Also Andrew, who is the supervisor there, was able to assist me in upgrading my room at no charge and the transition was easy. He definitely went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of.
A very nice new hotel, nice lobby and pool, small snack market on site, kitchens in rooms - good for longer stays. Parking is easy on site. This hotel sits directly across from SB airport, which is a small regional airport with not too many flights - so not too noisy. UCSB and Isla Vista are less than a mile away - this is a great location to stay for those visiting UCSB.
Stayed at this residence inn using our Bonvoy Marriott points. Traveled to Santa Barbara for a charity event luncheon for the Dream Foundation Flower Empower.Hotel was clean, great parking and friendly staff. Needed housekeeping to bring additional towels and bath items. Brought to our room promptly after calling the front desk.Room had nice kitchen and dining area. Liked have a walk in shower and larfer workspace area. Enjoyed their free breakfast, cooked well and delicious. I was late 1 morning to pick up my entrees, (630 am to 9:00 am) and staff was kind enough to provide me access to quickly pick up a breakfast sandwich, fruit and a yogurt. Saved my hunger pauns and morning meal.Only downside was the $10 pkg fee per day. As a Gold Elite member, unable to have it waived. Seemed odd it was requested for this hotel facility in SB, but I suppose times are changing as they say. Everything else was wonderful about our stay. Waiting for my 500 Marriott points to be added to my account that were offered for our reservation at this hotel. Recommend this hotel as a great place to stay in Santa Barbara.
It is always a great feeling when a hotel treats you like family. This one does a great job! A couple of days before checking in we received a wonderful welcome email, which was just the beginning. When we got to the hotel earlier than planned, Lorena at the front desk quickly assured us she will get us checked in as soon as she can, and she did! She made certain to thank me for my member status and was patient when I asked a million questions about the area, things to do, etc. The housekeeping staff was courteous and helpful, as we opted to go green, we never had issue finding someone to give us extra towels and coffee. The place is a great environment for family and children with a fun outside area.
We spent 3 days at the Residence Inn Santa Barbara Goleta and were impressed as soon as we walked in all the way until we left. It was impeccably clean. Measures were taken to ensure social distancing and disinfecting was visibly done on a consistent basis. Jessica and Rodney from the front desk were exceptionally helpful with beach suggestions and with our requests for pool reservation. The kitchen was well stocked with the necessary kitchen equipment for me to make a birthday breakfast. It was such a birthday weekend that we now want to go back again.
On our way to Palm Springs from San Francisco, we decided to spend the night near Santa Barbara and needed a reasonably priced hotel with a kitchen in the room. The Residence Inn was perfect. A really nice room, functioning small kitchen, and super clean. Very helpful staff as well.Only caveat-it’s by the airport so we heard a little plane noise, but very little.It’s about a 5 minute drive to the beach as well.
Super clean and great space with awesome amenities. Delicious breakfast. Kids and adults loved the pool and hot tub. Really friendly staff. Look forward to trying out more RIs as we loved the kitchenette and room facilities!
Marriott residence innRooms are very clean and the properties followed the health and safety protocols. Whole place is very high maintenance and clean. Limited people in pool area and gym. Felt safe. Many had mask on when in and out of properties. Quick check in and out. Mr. Andrew Neville was superb in assisting me, answering all my questions and concerns and arrange my rooms because I had two family bookings for the trip. Thank you so much!!
The place was empty for my stay, and those place is going to be nothing special compared to every other marriott chain hotel. The best quality of this place was the interior of the rooms, how each room comes with dishes, silverware, etc. Also, ring style video and audio answering system is very advanced and safe. Try finding a cheaper place in town with more energy if you are here for vacation purposes. Perfect for business trips.
From my first phone call to fix mistakes from a third party booking site to check out, I was blown away by this staff! I felt like a valued customer at all times. The hotel and grounds are immaculate, the room was so well put together, beautiful, quiet and clean!! They were accommodating to our special parking needs and quick to answer any questions with a smile. I will stay here again and again!
Excellent Residence Inn in Goleta! Beautiful property with clean rooms and thoughtful design. The breakfast and courtyard area were great for families and kids. Nice fire pits and games outside. Breakfast quality was great and well-appointed. Enjoyed lavender coffee! Housekeeping was great and staff superb. Room rates pricey but that is typical for this area. Goleta public beach is a few miles away and has great little playground for kids and a little pier and cafe. It’s a few minutes from UCSB and only 10 min drive to State Street/downtown SB.
First room assigned was not clean. I was moved immediately to a second room with no scenic view and air conditioning vent and unit facing beds, where I found it hard to sleep due to noise of the unit and cold air blowing in my face. I was unexpectedly upgraded to a two-room suite without asking. The staff at the hotel were gracious and caring. The breakfast bar is outstanding. The hotel inside and outdoor decors are very updated, clean, and inviting. The staff provides outstanding care and service. One of the best hotels I have every stayed in.
With comparable pricing in the area, this would definitely be a pick and highly recommended place to stay. It is conveniently located near main roads, freeways, train and airport. No problems with WiFi during stay. Room was ExTrEmely quiet, never knew if anyone else was nearby. The breakfast has great variety, although there really has not been a facility that can offer good breakfast eggs. The lobby area has plenty of TVs to keep u up to date on news and sports. The rooms are spacious with convenient kitchen. Best of all the staff are amazingly helpful and courteous. The only thing missing is restaurant or bar!
Great hotel. Whether you are traveling with a big family or staying solo in the Santa Barbara area. Breakfast is alright, but my family thought the breakfast sandwiches and coffee could be better. Good dining options around the area. Sofa bed could be better, but they hardly ever get any better. Probably five stars next time.
Very clean new hotel, spacious rooms, excellent breakfast in the morning. We had a noise issue where the door to the parking lot hit the wall of the hotel when guests went in and out. Amber at the front desk helped move us and the situation was totally resolved.
Fantastic hotel! Friendly staff, clean room, comfortable EVERYTHING! First floor room had taller ceilings than other floors. The hotels stock photos are true to the actual room. The kitchen is great with GE profile appliances and logical and easy layout. The grounds were well kept and the pool was heated (its winter). Oh! The front of the hotel even had a garden area to walk around that had little plaques that identified each plant and tree! The gym was nice and clean with newer machines. Monday thru Wednesday mixers in the evening were awesome with good food and drinks. Wednesday mixers had featured local chef. Breakfast was great and they offered small to-go containers for us to use when we were in a hurry. One of the best Residence Inns Ive stayed in...coming from a person who is on the road 90% of the time and prefers Residence Inn to other hotels.
New modern rooms. We had a floor level unit and a sliding door to the courtyard. Very nice to have quick in and out access. Loved the location very close to the airport.
The rooms are very comfortable and spacious, everything looks new and is very clean. The air conditioning in the room is quite loud, and the water flow in the shower (I was on the 3rd floor) was not super strong. But other than that, a very comfortable and relaxed stay.
If youre looking for a room with a kitchenette for a longer stay, this does the trick. The rooms are comfortable but we had issues on the cleanliness of the room. There was some old garbage left by the previous people which housekeeping should have seen. Also, the dog fee is very expensive and would only be worth it if staying longer. When I told the front desk about the garbage left in the room, they told me they would credit points to my account but I have yet to see any points put into my account.
We opted to stay here instead of Downtown Santa Barbara. We loved it! The courtyard view was nice overlooking the pool, jacuzzi and fire pit seating areas. The common space in the hotel was delightful and the food was excellent when we did not venture out. It is on the flight line for the local airport; however, most of the planes are small private jets. It did not bother us at all. Ample parking!
The pool was very good. Open hours were so accommodating. Nice bar and snacks until 10pm. Love that dogs are allowed!All Marriots should accept canine companions. Dog owners can be very responsible.
One-liner: Poor Service Negates the Positives of this HotelLocation: Near Santa Barbara Airport. Good for those arriving through that airport and need a place close-by with accessibility to the airportParking: Self-parking around the facility. Daily parking fee, even though there was plenty of parking. I did not notice any security that is paid to help watch over the cars too.View: Not much. Surrounded on three sides with factories. My particularly view was of a trash bin for a commercial building. One side facing the main road with a view of some trees that help hide the airport facilities. The rooms facing the courtyard is probably the best view.Overall Room: Layout is not as good as other Residence Inns that have the bedroom and living room divided by a door. It is much smaller than most Residence Inns. I did appreciate the small details such as providing a small salt and pepper shaker for cooking. One time I visited a Residence Inn near San Diego and they did not provide salt and pepper.Kitchen: Refrigerator with freezer. Stove that was electric. Enough plates and utensils and bowls for 3-4 people. Strainer and mixing bowl provided with cap.Bathroom: big and easily accessible. Clean.Bed: I reserved a room with a king size bed. It was on the firm side but comfortableAmenities: Gym, small pool with Jacuzzi, oversized lawn chess board, very mini mini-golf, ping-pong table, two outdoor gas grills.Service: The biggest failure of the whole stay. I was informed there would be a water issue during my stay about 1-2 days prior to my trip. This was for my wedding anniversary and I wanted it to be nice but to find a hotel last minute right before the trip was not possible so I decided to keep my reservation. I thought it would not be so bad but I later found it that there would be no water from 10pm-6am. That meant toilet use was limited to at most 1-2 flushes overnight. I thought I could survive but I realized quickly that I could not wash my hands when I used the bathroom overnight. They did provide complimentary 2 regular size water bottle for the inconvenience, but that does not easily solve the sanitary issue. I brought up the issue with the hotel staff and at most they were dismissive about my concern. That is what caused me to give a 2 star rating, when it could have been a 4-5 star rating. I did not expect 1-2 star, motel level, service from such an overall nice facility.
We took the middle kid to college and stayed there overnight. Amenities were very good, including outside entertainment for the younger kids. Appreciated the gym and laundry facilities, and best of all, included hot breakfast. The room was clean and nicely appointed with a kitchen, living area and roomy bathroom. Would stay again next time in the area.
My wife and I have stayed here on several occasions. Each time is a great experience with the quality of the hotel, rooms and overall satisfaction. The staff is always on top of their game, from check in to check out. Always friendly and take good care of you. The Mixer is a chance to meet new Friends, relax and enjoy the evening. The rooms are always clean and the well managed. The bathrooms are well maintained up to date and laid out well. This is one of our favorite hotels in the Marriott chains we have stayed at. Truly a hotel for others to emulate. Well done Residence Inn and Suites Goleta, well done!
This is by far the best Residence Inn Ive been to so far. Bathroom is nice and modern, it has a pretty walk-in shower, instead of the old standard bathtub like in most other locations. TV swivels so you can watch from bed, sofa or dining area. Lobby/lounge area is comfortable, sleek looking. Other locations, i always felt a bit out of place and like just a hotel. But this Goleta location made me feel so comfortable and at home. The common bbq/fireplace/pool area is also very nice and intimate. Every staff members were courteous and professional.I usually prefer Townhouse styled Residence Inn, as it is easier to take my dogs out. But here, they set me up in a room super close to the exit door so it was equally convenient as townhouse style Residnece Inn.Cant beat the free parking either. The free wifi is pretty slow, but you can always upgrade if you want for few extra bucks.Its close enough to Santa Barbara, so on days we drank, we just ordered Uber.Next time I come back to Santa Barbara, Ill definitely be staying at this location again.
We had a wonderful experience after a very stressful time. Our daughter, a student at UCSB, needed to stay at this property for 8 days after being in the hospital. Susan was extremely helpful and caring and made sure that our daughter was able to stay for the entire time even though it was a very busy time in the area. We truly felt like someone was looking out for her. The room and ground were very clean and well kept. We will definitely stay here whenever we are in the area to visit our daughter.
The staff were super friendly and helpful.However, anytime we went to the front desk for anything there was always a delay. Most of the time there was only one person at the front desk and several people waiting to get assistance. The hotel had not increased staffing to handle the increased number of people visiting the area. The location of the hotel is very convenient for access to beaches and Santa Barbara. Since the hotel is in a business area with lots of nearby parking, I was surprised that Marriott was charging a daily parking fee. I feel that this is just penny pinching by Marriott Hotels
The hotel is located right next to the airport. Its about 15 20 minute drive to downtown area which isnt too bad. The amenities here are really nice with some outdoor mini golf and a pool and jacuzzi which close at 11pm. The breakfast was included and you can make your own fresh waffles. We got the 2 bed suite which was very spacious and clean.
We have been under mandatory evacuation orders several times since December of last year and are expecting many more during the next 3-5 years. During the first evacuation, my Aunt highly recommended the Marriott Residence Inn as she and her husband are frequent travelers. It has met our expectations on every level, from the accommodating and friendly staff to the wonderfully welcoming, clean and stylish rooms. I thank her during every stay. The kitchen is such an important feature for us and it really creates a feeling of home as soon as we arrive. Everything we need is there and a bottle of wine is a phone call away. We know we can begin to relax as soon as we enter the property. Overall, it brings such as sense of peace to know that we have a plan and that the hotel staff is accommodating to the immediate changes coming from emergency officials that may affect our stay. I couldnt ask for a better, more welcoming experience.
This is my go to spot to stay when Im visiting Santa Barbara, because staying in Santa Barbara is way more costly. The room I get has a small kitchen for me to cook meals which is a plus. The have a pool and jacuzzi available, but I do not use it... Goletas a nice little town.
This hotel has a little bit of everything for everyone. The outdoor space is a great gathering ground for individuals and groups - with ping pong table, two large bonfire areas, bean bag toss, large life-size chess, barbecue space, pool and hot tub, and a lot more. The rooms are sizable and clean. Even though the hotel is across from the airport, there are so few commercial flights that it is very quiet. The hotel block is really nice to walk around with the native plants and landscaping.
Newly built a couple of years ago. Hotel is very clean and spacious. There is a pool, giant chess set, ping pong table, bean toss in the outside area where kids can run around Dog friendly. Lobby and lounge areas are clean. Outside lounge has 2 social fire pits. Great overall hotel.
Both my daughters were in travel basketball teams, so we have been to some many Residence Inns. It is our go-to type of hotel because its family friendly--in every Residence Inn, theres the usual--a BBQ pit, swimming pool, basketball court, wi-fi, fitness center, lounge area, full kitchen, desk area, and free hot breakfast. But this Residence Inn is SPECIAL. So awesome! RI outdid themselves when they added a mini-golf course, a life sized chess board game, bean bag toss and wait for it....not one but two BBQ grills and two fireplaces. This place has it all! My family and I at different times throughout the trip said we love this RI--ITS THE BEST RESIDENCE INN. Maintenance staff are prompt and knowledgeable. Our bathroom had illuminating lighting around the mirror. I wish I had this bathroom in my own house. We came down during the Mothers day weekend for my daughter who is heading off to college. When I came downstairs for breakfast, I was greeted by the General Manager, Leslie, who offered all MOMs a mimosa and chocolate flower. Ahhh. Leslie gave me some great advice on college. Leslie and her entire staff is so friendly. I love this RI and know my family will be coming back here soon!
My family and I had the pleasure of stopping here for the night on a trip between LA and SLO county. The property is clean and comfortable, with cozy beds and little kitchens. We enjoyed a complimentary dinner and breakfast on the property, which really made the short stay relaxing. The property has a nice little outdoor patio with a small pool and spa, fire pits, and lawn games. Nice option if you are in the area.
We had a lovely time at the Marriott Goleta. It was a few miles away from Santa Barbara, but it was nice to be close to a less populated beach (Goleta Beach). We found a few breweries just down the road, Captain Fatty’s and a winery right next door. It was nice to have the option of other bars/restaurants because Santa Barbara’s downtown area was very crowded. The hotel room was great, the kitchen space was clean and very useful.
This a very nice property ☺ very well groomed jacuzzi and pool out door fire pits and games.Its still very new, they serve banquet style breakfast 😋The rooms are also very nice kitchen nets style. I would come here again. 😍
I dont often leave reviews but I was very impressed with the service here. They were having a busy night and our room wasnt quite ready, but the employee at the front desk, Jesus, was very helpful and held on to our luggage til we could check in, so that solved that problem. He was obviously swamped with phone calls and different guests needing attention, but he was very polite and friendly with everyone. I really appreciated his service. The pool and grounds are also very nice, and the breakfast is good.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff was fantastic, the hotel was clean and modern. I have stayed at many, many Marriott properties and this one is top tier. Great common areas and gym. Definitely recommend for families, business travelers and everyone in between. Good location for the airport and highway.
We stayed here for 3 nights with my husband and our two grown children. One of the mornings we were late to breakfast and the staff still made an effort to put together something for us. One of the nights we made a last minute reservation for our son, daughter-in-law and their dog to come join us and we were able to get a room close to ours without any problems and they also allowed their dog to come with them.
We were very happy with our stay at the Residence Inn in Goleta! The hotel was modern and the location was great for everything we wanted to do in Santa Barbara. The staff was more than accommodating and very friendly. We even were given the name and number of dentists in the area when I had a dental problem! We will definitely stay there again.

Has pool, fitness center, outdoor grill, small putting area, giant outdoor chess set, and ping pong table. Beds were comfy, shower was giant! Great value. Highly recommended for those visiting UCSB. We traveled to Santa Barbara to visit our daughter at UCSB. We needed a dog friendly place near campus and found the Residence Inn.The staff was friendly and welcoming, The facilities and amenities were top notch; modern and stylish rooms, comfortable beds and sofas, and clean bathrooms. The lobby and dining area is very inviting. We loved the back area where guests can casually relax by two different fire pits, play mini-golf, ping pong, swim, play with giant chess pieces, toss bean bags, or enjoy a good book. There is also dual barbecue grills if you want to grill some food.They have a dedicated area for dogs and the area was well maintained and clean. I walked my dog around the area. Although it’s located in an industrial area, it was quiet and flat, which made it nice for our early morning walks.The fitness room was clean and has the latest equipment; treadmill, elliptical and lifecycle machines. Plus, free weights, stability balls, medicine balls, matt, towels and water available.Overall a great place to stay for families, dogs or couples wanting a comfortable inviting place to stay.
The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make my stay enjoyable every time I use them. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Santa Barbara.
You will not go wrong with this hotel. From the staff, to the facilities and grounds, this hotel is great. Along with a pool, there is a large chess board, corn hole, and ping pong table to enjoy. And if you just want to relax outside, there is a BBQ area and fire pit. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and modern. You can access Netflix and Hulu from the television. And in the morning, there is a beautiful full breakfast. I highly recommend.
My husband, son and I stayed for a week at this wonderful Inn. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed breakfast each morning and truly felt welcome. I had called prior to arrival to let them know we would be arriveing late at night. I told them we were coming to celebrate my husbands 88th birthday. When we arrived we opened the door to our suite to find balloons, wine, and birthday flavored pretzels from the Hospitality Group greeting us. Such a pleasant surprise! We were evacuees from the great Montecito mudslide and spent two weeks at the Inn. Everything was first rate. We had a studio room with a kitchenette that had everything we needed for an extended stay. The room design was extremely well thought out with guest comfort and convenience in mind. The bed, bathroom and other room amenities added greatly to our comfort for the extended stay. Weve stayed in a lot of expensive hotels in our travels over the years, but very few have overall been as comfortable as this hotel. And the price for these high end amenities was extremely reasonable.
Beautiful hotel just recently opened. Great staff, wonderful rooms. Location is fine if youre an airport guest or have a preference for this hotel. About ten or fifteen miles from Santa Barbara in a safe but boring area. Overall its wonderful though and Id stay anytime.
Fantastic spot to stay! Easy ride to Santa Barbara proper, and a quick 15 walk to the Goleta beach from the hotel! About a mile or so from the UCSB campus and hangouts, so if you are a parent or prospective student, this would be a great place to stay. Fun amenities include a mini put-put area, spacious cabanas, pool, and hot tub. Breakfast is good too! Soccer field right adjacent to the building, and grocery store is less than a five minute walk! Nice trails a quarter mile away too!
The staff was very friendly. Hotel lobby and exterior of hotel were nice, but I did not feel the interior of the room was as clean as it should be. In my opinion, it did not meet the Marriott quality that we are used to. We own 4 timeshares, plus Marriott Vacation Points, so we typically only utilize Marriott, and to be a new hotel, I was disappointed. We didnt use the amenities however they looked nice in the middle of the hotel courtyard. We also did not utilize the dining, but it did appear to be clean. We were not traveling with a pet, but if you are traveling with a pet, I could see where this hotel would be a good location for you if you dont mind existing urine stains on the carpet from previous stays.
I choose the Residence Inn in Goleta because I wanted to be in a updated newish property. Many of the Santa Barbara properties are older and worn but they still want top dollar for their rooms. Some charge a resort fee and for parking. The Residence Inn does neither, they also host cocktail hours and light dinners Mon through Wed nights. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The suites are comfortable, clean and beds are very comfortable! Pillows are feather (although I travel with my own pillow) which I appreciate instead of old hard fiber or foam pillows. Decor is neutral and pleasing. Property grounds are lovely, I did not hear the train or airplane noise while there.
Our stay in Goleta was top notch. Although this review is officially for one night we stayed for four nights (I had to add the one night under a separate reservation). Not only was the suite completely up to date in style, it was clean and the staff, especially Susan, was amazing. She went out of her way to help us and even before we could ask, she had volunteered assistance. We were under a lot of stress at the time and without Susan’s help we would have been crazy. Thank you,Susan!!!
Great hotel the room was super nice full kitchen and complimentary breakfast offered as well. Nice putting green which was very useful since I was there on a 3 day golf trip. Which all the courses we went too was no more 10mins from the hotel which was nice.
This hotel is centrally located near the airport, it is what I would call an upscale Residence in with all the amenities that come with a Residence. The lounge and back patio are very inviting and make a nice area to relax. The rooms are very large and well laid out for flexibility and relaxing. The staff was one of the nicest I have encountered and definitely makes a big difference when staying. I have had two extended stays so far and plane to stay each time I am in town.
This place was just fantastic! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The lobby is beautiful, and the grounds are lovely. Our kids had so much fun playing with the giant chess board, and in the pool. Very close to Santa Barbara. We will definitely stay here again!
This was by far the most upscale Residence I have ever stayed at. The staff was exceptional with their service, they were so accomodating. Great example was we had Glass drinks at the pool(our fault sorry) and the staff approach us and asked if he could get us plastic cups to put our drinks in __I WAS SO IMPRESSED. Then he went all the way back into the lobby and came back with plastic cups. Most hotels would scold you and make guest go get cups---NOT this staff they were PERFECT and PROFESSIONAL ! Additional the facilities are gorgeous and everyone staying there respected the place(staff made sure in there professional way--like our glasses by the pool). Atmosphere is very friendly with people by firepit, playing chess, etc...And they allow pets and everyone really enjoyed our dog and all the pet owners were very respectful with their pets, KEEPing them ON leashes and pick up afterwards. I attribute our wonderful stay to the staff and their approach to the guests--rather than scolding they offer to help and address everything professionally !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Big clean rooms, comfy bed. The shower had perfect pressure, which is difficult to find. Easy wi-fi, Netflix, HBO go -- excellent! I could ask for a shuttle ride to local destinations, but need to ask ahead. The mixers are great for some good food and local wine, but its still no substitute for the excellent local restaurants. So close to airport and UCSB campus.
Although my stay in Goleta was for two days and one night, my stay at the Residence Inn in Goleta made my work stay comfortable.Thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast! Not your usually frozen food choices. Even healthy choices like yogurt and fruit.If I come up here to work again, I will stay here.-Anthony
This is a nice and fairly new Marriott. The rooms are spacious and clean. The beds are comfortable. The grounds are well maintained. It is reasonably priced for the area. It is a good location if you plan to spend the bulk of your time in Goleta as opposed to Santa Barbara.
Hands down one if the best hotels weve stayed at. Very nice hotel, comfortable, clean, and inviting. The courtyard was great with activities for families. Good breakfast and they do great evening events throughout the week. The staff is super friendly as well. Any time I am working from Santa Barbara I will stay here.
Hotel itself is nice, clean, staff is friendly and courteous. Room is nice, except HVAC was a bit loud and was blowing on my head in bed, so I turned the unit off. Adjusting the vents vanes helped a little. Hence the layout is not the best. Will not stay at this location again, if only for the above reasons - if you cant get a pleasant nights sleep, why stay?
This hotel is wonderful! The rooms are spacious and clean. I really enjoyed having a kitchen and space to spread out. The staff was wonderful and went out of their way to make sure my stay was comfortable.
Awful customer service experiences from beginning to end. Poor housekeeping, cleaned our room three days in a row after 4 pm. we returned sandy from the beach on each of those days without clean towels to shower. Also ran out of toilet paper not once but twice. Ugh. Great facility - fun outdoor activities and nice pool area for the kids, but I would never stay here again. The staff ruins the experience.
This place is great. The thing that was missing was a hotel bar. Other than that it’s nice and the bed was very comfy. I love the towels and comforters. Very spacious. It is far from downtown, but we drove there, so no problem. Definitely stay there again.
Very conveniently close to the airport and many restaurants and stores. Super clean and a variety of things to do at the hotel itself. With the currently health situation, I was happy to enjoy the ourdoor pool and hot tub!!
The Residence Inn provided us with a King suite that had lots of space, a surprisingly large, functional kitchen, a comfortable sofa/sitting area and large, clean bathroom. The pool and patio area was set with barbecue grills, large fire pits surrounded with chairs, and a ping pong table! The lobby is large and comfortable and the staff friendly and eager to serve. A great stay!
Property is amazing : nice pool and courtyard area, modern rooms and nice bathrooms. Unfortunately my checkin experience was less than ideal. After A 6 hour flight I arrived at the hotel at midnight. only to be greeted by a rude front desk lady. There was a miscommunication on both parties but we weren’t able to resolve it smoothly due to the fact that the lady was very defensive and hostile. For the entire stay I avoided her as she appears to be very intimidating rather than welcoming. My status was not recognized at check in, and I reached out to the hotel but have heard nothing.
I have stayed at this hotel twice for a total of 12 days now. It is a very nice Residence Inn -- the nicest I have stayed at. The staff is amazing -- so friendly. I cant vouch for the gym or the food because Covid has all that shut down but the manager, Susan, and her staff run a tight ship. I will be back when I need a place to stay in the Santa Barbara area.
A beautiful, clean facility, with very firm and comfortable beds, a full refrigerator and kitchen, a putting green, a wonderful swimming pool, a clean workout area, and you can bring your own stuff to grill in a cozy upscale backyard atmosphere! I was delighted with my stay at this Residence Inn. If you want to see Santa Barbara, plan on driving from the facility...its not walking distance to town. Other than that, this is just about a perfect place to have a relaxing getaway!!!
It might be due to a lack of staff, but there was garbage and dirty dishes in the room when we checked in. We also found that the AC did not work. The electrical breaker kept tripping and turning it off. It was a hot weekend, so it was not a pleasant stay. The hotel was fully booked so there was not an option of changing rooms
Great looking property, but if you dig a little beyond the surface, youll find problems.Front desk staff at check in are stellar. Great, helpful, all that you expect from Marriott.Beware: Even if you ask for a late check out, and agree upon a time, theyll still harass you to get out. Ive stayed at dozens of other Residence Inns and hundreds of Marriott properties for work and leisure, and by far, this is the worst from a staffing perspective.NOTE: Breakfast here is basic, even for a Residence Inn. They can improve that.Internet was spotty at best.
I want to commend the staff! They were very helpful. We called late at night because our neighborhood was under mandatory evacuation orders due to a brush fire. They took care of us quickly and even offered a discount from the regular rate because of our situation. Their warm welcome helped make an otherwise stressful situation much easier to handle. Thanks!
I stayed on a Monday and Tuesday night and unfortunately as a Platinum Bonvoy Member it would have been nice to not get a view of the parking lot but instead of the beautiful courtyard thats all. I also normally would not get charged for parking and I guess I do now as I have stayed many times at this location.
My wife and I were treated to an extraordinary experience during our stay at the Goleta Residence Inn last weekend. Aside from the breathtaking scenery at nearby Santa Barbara where we served witness to our nephew’s wedding, the staff and amenities at the Residence Inn rank among the best 10% of any hotel stay we’ve enjoyed in over 40 years of travel. Modern decor and thoughtful extras set this property a part. We can’t wait for our next return to Paradise.
OMG. Best hotel experience we have ever had. Friendly people that help you and thats just the other guests. Close to the airport. The design for the courtyard is genius. Would readily rent the whole place for an event i.e. weddings.

This review is during Covid 19. I am an platinum elite member. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Do not like the breakfast box they offer in the mornings. A pre packaged bagel not even fresh, fruit and a water. What is nutritious about this? Have had better options at other hotels across USA. The checkin was not so good, the person that checked me in was rude. Yes I tried to check in early. Did not like that I also had to make reservations to use the pool, so I did not use. Had to have maintenance replace my shower head, it was spraying more water behind the shower head on the wall than on me. California rules at this time are extremely terrible.
Comfortable, modern and spacious rooms, great courtyard with pool, jacuzzi and fire pits. The location is a bit more industrial than I realized when booking it, but quiet and safe. For a longer stay where tourism is not the purpose, it would be just fine. Santa Barbara in general is expensive, so its not Marriott in particular. No restaurant service after breakfast, but snacks available for purchase by the check-in desk.
Location near Airport and University but don’t let that stop you. Place was very welcoming and fresh clean has lots of amenities activities outdoor from large Chess game corn hole ping pong a little golf section not to mention two grills and lots of room outside and sitting around the fire pit. The room for a long studio was perfect for myself and s 14 year old boy . Near the high school he was playing at like 6 minutes so he was able to rest in between games buffet for breakfast was perfect and filing . I most definitely will stay here again
Beautiful clean grounds and amenities include large grass area for the kids and dog to run about, a small putting area, patios for your family to hang out, 2 fire pits, and adults size chess. The swimming pool was clean and made it possible to reserve time periods to swim in effort to abide by Covid.
Great location and top notch service. I had to catch a flight before breakfast and Amber set it up so I had a breakfast to go! Super service... Makes you feel like they really want you there. Keep it up Amber and team!
We stayed the weekend for our sons wedding in Santa Barbara and this hotel more than met our expectations! The staff was very friendly and always eager to help our every need, a great experience! Pool was heated, games to play around the pool, fire pits. Lots of fun!
Nice layout, clean, stylish. Enough lights in different locations to light up the room properly. Kitchen area was well organized and well stocked with the things a guest will need to prepare their own meals. Has a small but adequate fitness area.
Our stay was pretty good, except the sofa beds spring were awful (my daughter woke up with marks on her arm from the bed spring) and the bedrooms carpet had an urine odor. Other than that, the shower was great, the king bed was very comfortable and the Breakfast food and eating area was wonderful.
Excellent stay and beaufitful location. Great rooms pool exercise and lounge area by an outside fire. Rooms are well designed for comfort and utility with all the conveneice of home. Stayed here before a my company conference. A very relaxing way to start a busy week.
Very uncrowded now due to the pandemic. Pool is nice and warm - by appointment only and closed after 6 pm due to pandemic. Same with hot tub. Theres bbqs, firepits, putting green, ping pong outside. We have a nice studio apartment here while our house is being repaired - it has everything except an oven. Modern and clean. Service is good. Carry out complimentary breakfast is prepared in advance, so just ok. Pets allowed. Gym is closed. Laundry room is available. Close to airport - windows very soundproof when closed.
Spacious rooms, clean, great to have a kitchen in your own room. Friendly staffs and having wine with friends n families over the pit fire is a great way to spend the early evening. However fitness room is quite bare and the breakfast is quite chaotic to start the morning
The Residence Inn Goleta Santa Barbara is a hidden gem. The property is new (rare for the Santa Barbara area) and upscale. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. The pool and common areas are well maintained and make it easy to relax (with a cold beer or a nice glass of wine from one of the many local wineries) after an active day. Room rates are great compared to other area hotels
This property is ideally located by the airport / freeways/ COSTCO / the University... its great. Surprisingly, in spite of the business, it is very quiet and serene. The room had everything we needed and was quite comfortable!
I absolutely loved this hotel. I had a first floor room which opened in to the courtyard. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The place is modern and very clean. I will stay here every time I come to Goleta. The breakfast was very good and offered a wide variety of food for various dietary needs.
This property was so new we could not even see it on line before our visit. It is handy to the Santa Barbara airport and freeway yet quiet. The lobby is stunning, and modern with a beautiful area in back for recreation.The elevators are at either end of the room row, so expect a hike depending on which room you have.The suites are well appointed, very clean and modern.
We loved our stay. In addition to a pool, they had a putting green, ping pong table, outdoor chess, and awesome outdoor seating with two fire pits. The hotel was very nicely decorated and well maintained. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Very new hotel - offers fitness room, large pool, very clean and quiet rooms, comfortable beds, clean and updated kitchens as well as work space if needed (desk, etc). Breakfast includes both hot and cold choices. Fruit is VERY fresh! Evening mixer includes free drinks and snacks - they had hot chicken skewers, hummus and chips, fresh strawberries and cantaloupe as well as a rice salad when I was there. Hotel is close to UCSB. I drove to Santa Barbara and it took 7 minutes to reach a restaurant in the Santa Barbara Fun Zone, which is a yuppy area by the beach. Very close to everything in Santa Barbara if that is your main destination. I would stay here again with no hesitation. Price is great in comparison to others in the area.
Nice room, gym, pool, breakfast and other amenities, however, some things are under maintained in the room and being close to the airport means hearing the planes early in the morning.
The hotel is modern and well maintained, as you can expect with any Marriott property. The rooms are spacious and came with a kitchenette and a TV. The staff was friendly and polite. This hotel is in a nice area with a lot to do within a short drive
This hotel is located right next to the airport, and just minutes from UCSB. The building seems to be new and has nice indoor and outdoor features. The room we stayed at had a kitchen and was very modern. What is nice is that this hotel offers free hot breakfast.
This Residence Inn is located conveniently near the Santa Barbara airport and offers free breakfast. The rooms are modern and well-equipped. This is the best hotel for businesspeople in the area.
Parking fee is a joke rates per night should cover it also the free breakfast was terrible first time I ever spit food out at a Residence INN definitely needs work. But the hotel was very clean Staff was awesome
WOW this hotel is beautiful. I stay at Residence Inns and Marriot hotels quite often and I was very impressed with this one. I believe it is 10 months old now. In any case, I wish I were staying there for more than a few nights, and even found myself calculating how much it would cost to live there! Very friendly staff and ample parking with close access to rooms is a plus. Great hotel for business or pleasure.
This hotel was so TERRIBLE that i wish i could rate it ZERO stars! The lady downstairs gave our 2 beds hotel room away so these soccer boys who already had 3 hotel rooms. 1st of all, i made a reservation for a hotel room with 2 beds, got there and it was a handicap with a view of the trash can in the back of the hotel! which wasnt what i paid for. They charged my car 3 times! The lady said she could give us an upgrade of two king beds! When i went in there it was ONE queen bed and so we asked for the other bedroom that we had before and she had given it away to someone else! knowing that there are THREE people who need more than just one bed and told us to get an upgrade that is ONE queen bed! Terrible way to treat your members!
Would be five stars but the 2 queens rooms have terrible window setup, looking at a wall. Otherwise a wonderful hotel.
Brand new hotel. The room was very modern and had lots of plugs in all the right places and usb ports too. Bed was incredibly comfortable and the shower was huge! The full kitchen is always nice. Breakfast was great and the courtyard with the pool, oversized chess set, putting green, and barbeque area was really awesome. I truly enjoyed my stay and as a business traveler this hotel will be on the top of my list for future trips to UCSB!
I will be back . We enjoyed the pool and the jacuzzi. The room was very comfortable and I loved how quiet and peaceful this hotel was. The staff is very friendly and the girls at the front desk were always willing to help.
Hotel was clean modern and welcoming, rooms were nice however expensive for what/where it is located. Breakfast was a disappointment daily: limited options, small space: thus very busy. Food kept running out, long waits to use waffle machines. Drip coffee in dispensers no espresso machines (which cheaper lower grade hotels offer..) breakfast ends too early especially on a weekend. No shops, restaurants or bars located around hotel - need car or uber. Not a bad location but not worth the cost per night for where it is. Overall would stay again for a lower price per night but would most likely choose another hotel that offered better location, more amenities at lower price.
I enjoyed my experience at the Residence Inn Santa Barbara Goleta, the hotel is well kept and close to all the attractions. The hotel offers social hour on Tuesdays and Wednesday afternoons. The outdoor pool is great, there are also games outside and great lounge chairs for people to enjoy. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
The food is not great and the walls are so thin you can hear the cleaners gossiping in the other rooms and in the halls.
I would definitely stay here’s again. The rooms were very clean and the bed was actually comfortable!! The staff goes above and beyond to make ones stay the best possible experience. Also the value for the room is very good for what you get ! The complimentary breakfast was very good also ! L
5 minutes to the SB airport. The hotel was quiet where you cant hear airplanes at all!! They bought the right windows and insulation for this hotel. Spotless grounds. Friendly staff. Good price.
Informed of waterline issue last minute. Only accomodation was to 2 water bottles per night which doesnt help when you need to wash your hands when you use the bathroom. Otherwise average location. Only view is of courtyard or the factories around it. Quiet room though.
This is very conveniently located hotel if you need to stay close to UCSB or Santa Barbara Airport. Super clean place. We stayed in many Residence Inns without Mariot before and so for this one is the best. Swimming pool is cute and super clean too. One minor problem we experienced was quite a noisy fan outside of our room. So even if we shot off the A/C and opened the balcony, there was a constant fan noise.
Very clean and new hotel. Definitely has the upscale Residence Inn quality. Next to the airport, do if you arrive via plane, this would be a convenient location. Only draw back is that it is not close to any food spaces.
The Marriot Residence Inn on Hollister Avenue, in Goleta looks like it would be a nice place to stay, as it is close to the Santa Barbara Airport. The interior is nice, and has a few arty installations, but for the most part, it looks like any other nice place to rest, after a flight. The back court yard, is nice too. In fact, this part of the Inn was my favorite. It had a life sized Chessboard, mini-golfing, some toss-across type boards/beanbags. The pool is good sized, and has a Jacuzzi. For people who may be wheel-chair bound, there is a mechanism that will lower one in/out of the water! My absolute favorite things in the back, are the glass filled fireplaces..if youve never experienced these, they are beautiful when lit.
1. The mattress on the sofa bed felt like the springs were about to pop through the fabric. We had to sleep on top of our clothing to prevent pain from the metal.The next morning we requested a new mattress or a topper. By that evening neither one had arrived. At midnight we were contacting the front desk and they had housekeeping come and bring up a couple of comforters to put on the bed.2. Both of the interior doors squeaked terribly when you opened or closed them. We also requested that someone came up and oil them. That never happened either. Needless to say, no one slept very well.3. We asked for an upgrade to our room/a handicap room because of our 95-year-old mother. Our level with Marriott gives us upgrades. We appreciate the upgrades but don’t believe that the upgrade we received was much of an upgrade based on the fact that we were looking at a rooftop and wall.4. We had a welcome gift basket which included an itinerary of the wedding events weekend, delivered to our room from the bride and groom which we never received bc we changed rooms. We asked that they find it for us, but they never could locate it. The bride was very disappointed as we were too.5. This was not our typical stay with Marriott.
I regret that it has taken me an entire week to send you this email, however, I do want you to know what an impression the woman checking us in made on not only me but my entire family! I first want to say this, KINDNESS matters. From the moment I walked in to your hotel, Susan not only greeted me with a smile, but made me feel like I belonged. A belonging like family! I have been to many hotels, and I always feel like a guest…which is beautiful, but this was something more. I felt like a long lost relative being welcomed home. She was so helpful, informative, and went above and beyond in detail stuff that most people don’t care about. From my experience, I have been checked in and felt like I was intruding on a conversation between co-workers up at the front. Zero personal connection!. NOT AT YOUR INN!!! Susan made a connection with my daughter, my husband and myself. I had to email because it was so refreshing to feel like somebody cared that we were there….and happy to see us! I’m sure as a general manager typically the things that need improving constantly come across your desk. You need to know that you have one incredible lady working with you. Please tell Susan that she made a lasting impression. If we are ever back in the area….there is literally nowhere else we would desire to stay!!! THANK YOU!!! We love YOUR Residence INN!
My stay at the Residence Inn, although brief, was very nice and comfortable. The hotel was clean from the parking lot, to the lobby to the room. The set-up of the room itself made for a relaxing evening for my husband and I. The staff is kind and the price for what you get is great. Fully recommend.
Susan at the front desk and Jenny at the Mix (I.e. breakfast& social hour) are the best!! They are always so nice, helpful, and professional. They (and the rest of the staff) always make me feel so welcomed. Residence Inn has become my choice of location to stay for work and I will now consider switching to Marriott hotels in general for future travel.
In general a good hotel, the pool and outdoor space is a nice touch. No safe in my suite, would like daily house keeping to return.
Not particularly recommended, you can choose other hotels of the same class.
Residence Inn Santa Barbara is a wonderful place for a weekend or a month long stay. The staff are exceptional and the property inviting, clean and beautiful. Young families enjoy the courtyard, young couples from all over on romantic getaways and business travelers make for interesting and enjoyable social hours and the location is both convenient and aesthetically pleasing.
Overall nice property, a lot of amenities were closed due to COVID. Couple downsides - charge for parking when not necessary- Had to switch rooms as first room had hair and dirty dishes- Water was a little off, smelled and tasted funny. A little mildew or something
This is the ONLY place I’ll stay in Santa Barbara and Goleta! It’s upscale in amenities, first class in cleanliness and design, and comfortable like a home away from home. I stay here 2 days every week, so I should know! Recommendation for breakfast: I’m plant-based, and would LOVE to see potatoes/hash browns and black beans/salsa for breakfast!
We had a very pleasant experience at the Residence Inn Goleta. The 2-bedroom suite was perfect for our family. Everything was clean in our room and throughout the hotel. The lobby was welcoming and the staff exceeded our expectations.
Staff at this location is fantastic Amazing amenities.I was traveling with my two dogs and it was so great to be able to have them stay with us in our room during our road trip.This location is gorgeous and great for families and business travelers as well.I will definitely return.
I recently stayed for 15 days at the Residence Inn Goleta. Typically I stay at another hotel but due to the length of my stay and the new Residence Inn in Goleta, I chose to give it a try. It was a great experience as I loved having a full kitchen and living room! Staff was very friendly and facilities were beautiful.Although my trips are usually shorter (5-6 days every month) than this recent trip, I plan to continue using the Residence Inn Goleta moving forward for all my future trips.I highly recommend you consider a stay there as well.
Went to visit a friend and have a relaxing vacation my baby girl, Dolce. Wonderful staff and breakfast. I have a gluten allergy along with host of other food allergies and I was able eat a good breakfast.
We enjoyed a week at Residence Inn Santa Barbara and were throughly pleased with every aspect of our stay. Room was great! Staff, housekeeping, outside grounds, pool-fitness, kitchen were all beyond expectations. We will stay again and I will recommend it to others.
Stayed 4 nights, would not choose this hotel again because I could never get a good night of sleep. Enjoy the sound of a plane taking off at 5am and the AC/fan that runs in the room cant be controlled from the wall panel (the Off setting didnt do anything). I had to find the breaker switch to get some silence. There was additional fan or whirring noise outside of Room 219 that was intermittent and bothersome. // Otherwise, everything else as expected. Bed comfortable, typical suite style room with a small kitchen and couch. Breakfast was serviceable (eggs, sausage, waffles, oatmeal, fresh fruits, yogurt, mini cinnamon rolls) . // Wasnt a fan of the location either, at least at the Courtyard on Storke you can walk to a shopping center (and dont get the plane noise).
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the new Residence Inn in Goleta. The room design is top-notch from the bathroom to the kitchen--the placement of everything is well-thought out. The bed is very comfortable. Clean, comfortable, friendly.
First and foremost, I was surprised beyond expectations of a Residence Inn providing an all around fantastic experience. The rooms were large, clean, modern, and quiet. The outdoor activities were fun (e.g., minature golf, ping pong, outdoor chess, etc.), and the happy hour offered free wine/beer and food. Although the food was mediocre and actually gave me diarrhea due to undercooked chicken, the following day they had street tacos from a third-party vendor that was awesome. Customer service was great and the location was conveniently located across the street from KSBA. Highly recommended hotel establishment...A+ in value.
Awesome place! Its brand new. Room was clean, there a kitchen inside, it has everything you need. You can even cook inside if you want. 🍳🍽☕🍷u dont need to bring anything.The only thing I didnt like is the location of the air conditioning system its in front of the bed...
Loved our room. Had every comfort that we could want. Kitchen with working ice machine, beautiful and well appointed bathroom. Comfortable sectional couch as well.

Our family loved the outdoor entertainment area! Best part of this hotel. Breakfast was great too and the shuttle driver drove us to UCSB and he was very helpful and friendly. We will be back for sure.

We stayed at the Residence Inn in Goleta for over a month. The staff is incredible and the property and amenities are wonderful and new! We heard multiple times from other guests that this property was one of the nicest it’s seen. The courtyard is so great if you have little ones (giant chessboard, cornhole, Jenga, fire pits).
We booked well in advance but they oversold the rooms and kicked us out of our reservation last minute because we were on a discounted price. They didnt tell us until we arrived in person. They claimed they couldnt contact our phone but they didnt even send an email about it. We would have easily spent the $30 extra at full price to keep our reservation. The person at the front desk was very dismissive and rude.
Great family friendly hotel or for couples. Clean, fun, great staff. Breakfast isn’t good but other than that it’s a great place to stay. I love the outdoor lawn games, the fire pits and the pool area.
Well maintained hotel. Really enjoyed the free breakfast. Room was clean, loved the huge shower. Serviceable kitchen which works well for starting longer and not wanting to wear out all the time.

Be warned that the pet fees are unreasonable. The hotel calls itself Pet Friendly but upon check-in we were told that there was a $100 fee for our one night stay. We have a 25 lbs. dog that stayed in her kennel and caused no damage. We have traveled extensively with pets over the years but have never paid $100 for so short a stay.
I arrived at the hotel suite number 113 on the 13th and the 14th. Unfortunately there was no heat in the unit on both nights. I went home for the Weekend, And I arrived back at the hotel on the 18th Room 233 Unfortunately no heat! The 19th no heat, The 20th no heat. Im really hoping to have some heat this Thursday night so I could leave on Friday morning.One night of heat would be so nice to have!!❤
Stayed here recently while moving son into college dorms. Very clean, modern with great amenities. Close to UCSB and dorms/apartments. This was a family trip but would totally recommend as a business traveler. Will definitely be back.

2023-12-09 01:04:48I stay here twice a year for a week each time. My partner is a titanium member. We noticed there weren’t a lot of people this week but we didn’t get automatically upgraded. I hope this was because they were booked, not because the person was just being lazy. Their rooms are always on the pricier side but you get what you pay for. Their rooms are updated and clean mostly. There was a maid who came into my room without my knowledge since I was in the bathroom and my baby was sleeping. When I walked out, we both got startled. She apologized lol but luckily my baby didn’t wake up. It also took her forever to get to our room because we were the last room in the hallway. The lobby is really nice and they have a cool courtyard with fire pits and a mini golf course. I’ve been in their pool and hot tub in the summer; it’s really nice. Although last summer, I saw birds pooping in there so I got turned off and didn’t go in lol. Anyways, we will always come back, and I definitely recommend this place!

Breakfast is great as well. Its a little far away from Santa Barbara downtown (15min drive). Overall we enjoyed it and would stay here again.

Although the staff was nice, they seem untrained and didn’t communicate between each other.Using a suite night upgrade I got a really big 2 bedroom suite which was nice until it was clear the climate system was broken and didn’t cool the room down. When I brought this to the attention of the front desk they assured me someone would come look at it. Around 6pm I realized no one had looked at it, checking with the desk again…the girl had not even passed on the message and maintenance was gone. We ended up being moved to just a standard room, which was fine until we slid open the patio door. We were greeted with TONS of bird poop, their attention to detail and cleanliness was overlooked in both rooms.They charge $15/night to park and their lot is enormous, what a rip off…should be complimentary.I’d look elsewhere when I’m in Santa Barbara next.

Only complaint was the mattress on the pull-out bed was so thin and you could feel the springs without even laying down on it. Definitely not usable even for a child!! The full moon was gorgeous 🤩

Pool is nice and warm, exercise room in excellent condition. Easy to get onto the 101 and also close to Goleta amenities.They have breakfast included but we preferred making our own.Very comfy!

2023-08-01 20:59:07This is a hotel that you would like to avoid. All the rooms are not equal and the view could be catastrophic at the point that you prefer to keep the curtains closed. The noise of the AC prevents you to keep it ON at night. The airport located across the street remind you that an aircraft is very loud. Most importantly the service is not oriented to the customer even if you are like me a titanium elite member. I will never book again and will never recommend it, even if convenience is at the top of the list. That hotel is not welcoming, and it will give you a headache with bad memories.

The location is far from the urban area, but it only takes about 20 minutes by car.The breakfast selection is not too much but it seems to be freshly made and tastes good.The worse thing is that the indoor air conditioner is very noisy. Fortunately, the sound is like the rotation of a washing machine, so it is bearable when sleeping.
