Both front desk staff we interacted with were fabulous (Jon and a lovely woman on Sunday morning), the loft room was very comfortable and nice with two bathrooms and a nice kitchen and sectional. The staff are also very kind and helpful; Nana helped us find our way around the property at one point. Nice outdoor pool 3’ deep on one end 5’ on the other. Parking is extra. This was a very nice place to see San Diego from before our official start of my daughter’s make-a-wish trip!

Unfortunately, my recent stay (06/23/2024) at Residence Inn La Jolla was cut short due to a parasitic infestation in building nine. Shortly after settling into my suite, I observed a red bed bug crawling across my pillow. I removed the bedding to check for additional parasites and found small carcasses along the edge of the comforter. A rather large bed bug/tick was also identified on a throw pillow sitting on top of the sofa. I began to itch and thought it might be a nervous reaction but quickly found multiple bug bites across my extremities, upper back, and forehead, all of which were red and swollen. I was so upset that I began to look for alternative housing arrangements but ultimately stayed put (albeit in a different suite) seeing as it was late and I was unfamiliar with the La Jolla area. Although the new suite appeared clean, I was unable to rest due to the physical and emotional distress brought about by my unpleasant encounter with the bed bugs, so I checked out first thing in the morning. At this point in time, the itching has not yet subsided.Needless to say, I am truly disappointed in the establishments sanitation protocol and cannot recommend it in good faith. However, I would like to thank staff member Peter, who saw me in a state of panic and guided me to my new suite in the middle of the night. During checkout, I was also able to speak with Jay and Tracy, who hold managerial positions at this location. They assured me the place would be thoroughly vetted and treated by a third-party contractor. I hope this is the case as we customers place our trust and safety in establishments that carry the Marriott name.

This is our second time staying at this residence inn. We have a large group and this perfectly fits for us. It comes with 3 beds and a sofa bed, 2 full bathrooms and a kitchen that you can cook, but found no pots. The location is pretty close to La Jolla Cove and is like 20 mins drive to San Diego downtown. It also includes breakfast which has a pretty decent selections. Our fur baby is not left behind, it is pet friendly. There’s a $25 parking fee though per vehicle. All in all we enjoyed our stay here and will come definitely come back.

Keep a close eye on your account is you’re staying here a long time and keep track of the charges. They have a bunch of hidden charges and the employees don’t really understand how the charges are being done. Over my stay I was charged over 300 dollars that the employees couldn’t explain. Even after I checked out, they still kept charging me. Make sure when you check out you have them remove your card from the system. The stay is fine but the whole financial thing and lack of competence of the employees ruins your peace of mind when at any moment 100s of dollars can be missing from your account.

I stayed here with my crew for a little over a month for work. The staff from the front desk, to maintenance, to housekeeping were all top notch. The breakfast was great, the hotel grounds were clean, and the laundry room was clean and updated.I had an issue with my room at 10:00 at night. I went to the front desk and spoke with Monic. I showed her a video of what the issue was. She immediately had maintenance go to my room and assess the situation. They decided to have me stay in another room for the night. The next day while I was at work, they took care of the problem. When I got back to the hotel after work, Monic had called to check on me twice to make sure I was happy and asked if I wanted to stay in the room or move into another one. I really appreciated the fact that she took the time to check on me and make sure that everything was to my satisfaction. The whole staff was amazing, but the ones that really stood out were Ali, Monic, Tracy, Christina, and Mina. They always greeted me with a smile and were always on top of things when I needed something. They also held a package for me after I had checked out and was in another state. They called me to let me know my package was in and held onto it until I was able to drive back there the next day to retrieve it. It was a huge package. Delivered on a pallet and left in their lobby. That’s the kind of service and going above and beyond for a customer that will have me coming back again.I am definitely looking forward to staying there again when I am back in town next year.

The staff were very nice, Jon, Fritzie and Gio were wonderful!!! They have happy hour from 6-730 Mon/Tue/Wed, free beer. The hotel itself is dated but nice overall. Free great breakfast every morning. Nice for families. There are a few Jacuzzis, a pool, laundry area. Definitely nice if you like getting out and not being summoned to a skyscraper type hotel in the city. Its also not far off the 5 which makes it convenient. I would stay again and recommend this hotel, especially having some great staff

Checked in, walked in our room, immediately left for another location. Room was dark, smelled awful/ old/ musty, was not clean, in disrepair. Grounds appeared unsafe.Staff was not helpful and didn’t seem to care that we were leaving. Wasn’t expecting this in LaJolla. Worse Residence Inn we’ve ever been to. Should be cleaned up and remodeled or closed.

This was our first time staying at a Residence Inn. We decided on this particular hotel since it had a full kitchen. Another good feature of the room was that it had a fireplace. The room itself is kind of outdated but it was very clean and well maintained. Staff was friendly. The only hiccup was the front desk receptionist when we checked in. The receptionist was somewhat distant and not very friendly. Parking was not expensive either, as it was at $25 a day. The hotel location is at a great location, and UC San Diego is very close. The beach is only about 10 minutes away, and San Diego is about 15 minutes away. The overall hotel was very quiet, safe, and enjoyable. There are many grocery stores and retail shops nearby. The free breakfast was decent. Overall, it was a great stay.

Stayed here for a month due to displacement from flooding. It has pet friendly rooms and semi spacious suites. Most staff are very helpful and accommodating. There is a good selection of breakfast choices and meh coffee. Only downs are: There is no happy hour and only 1 laundry service for the entire complex. It is also right off Gilman which is a fairly busy road.

A room with popcorn ceilings and terrible carpeting met us at the door. Not close to anything in the way of shopping. We had to Urber around. No bathroom doors for privacy!! Stain on bath carpet looked suspecious. Noises from upstairs. Really bad!! Moving furniture around late at night. Would never go back. Kitchen was stocked well. Neat in that respect.
